  • Isaac Success grabs three-month work permit

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Isaac Success and Henry Uche Agbo will leave Lagos, Nigeria for Spain on Sunday.

Both Nigeria youth – teamers have penned four – year contracts with Udinese but have been farmed out on loan to satellite club Granada on an initial six month loan deal.

The Spanish embassy at Kofo Abayomi, Victoria Island, Lagos has issued the pair work permits that will expire on June 23, 2014.

Even though the documents stated that Success and Agbo will remain in Granada for the next three months, in reality, Udinese will only recall them to Italy if they impress the coaching staff led by Lucas Alcaraz at the end of this season.

The young stars will fly out of Murtala Mohammed International Airport with Royal Air Maroc on Sunday and have a brief stopover at Casablanca before completing the journey to Malaga, the plane’s final destination.

Former Flying Eagles skipper Odion Ighalo is the other Nigerian player on loan at Granada from Udinese.

    • Set for loan to Granada

Contrary to reports that Golden Eaglets’ goal poacher, Isaac Success has departed the country to commence his four -year deal with Serie A side, Udinese, SportingLife can report that the youth sensation is still in Lagos no thanks to the delay in securing entry Visa and work permit.

The member of the U-17 World Cup winning Eaglets was sighted on Friday training at the Police College pitch with a certain SAMVIC Football Academy, based in the Ikeja area of Lagos.

When this reporter sought to find out what was responsible, his Nigerian agent Dominic Egbukwu said the player will be air-bound by midweek as the travel documents (work permit and visa) are now ready.

According to him, the youth international will be heading for Spanish side Granada for a loan deal where he is expected to mature and probably break into the Udinese first team.

“Indeed Success was billed to travel last week but for the delay in issuing his visa but that has been sorted out now. I just got a mail that the work permit is also ready so he will be leaving the shores anytime next week (this week).

“Sixty per cent of his sign on fees has been paid, and he has been receiving his salary since signing the contract. His medical was done at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja and was approved by Udinese. My partner Oliver Noah and I are the only agents trusted to do that.

“Success was 18-years January, he signed a four-year deal with Udinese and will be on loan to Granada of Spain where he will be expected to develop,” he explained further.

Eaglets’ striker to undergo scan in Dubai

Golden Eaglets striker, Isaac Success, could undergo a scan following the injury he sustained in his team’s 3-3 draw with Sweden in the ongoing FIFA Under-17 World Cup game in United Arab Emirates.

The team coach, Manu Garba, disclosed that the striker will be scrutinised medically to ascertain his fitness ahead of Friday’s clash against Iraq.

“The doctor has told me Isaac Success will have to be checked when we get to Dubai. It is possible to have a scan on his injury to be sure the extent of damage as we cannot say for now.

“I’m trusting that barring anything serious he should be fit for our next game. But we will wait to hear from the doctor (of the team) to know what is next,” supersport.com quoted the Eaglets’ coach as saying to journalists on Wednesday.

Garba also took time to decipher the performance of the Golden Eaglets against Sweden at the Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain.

He blamed the three goals his team conceded against Sweden on “lack of concentration.”

“We did well against Mexico and I scored the players 90 percent. But today (Tuesday), I can only give them 60 percent because all the three goals we conceded were due to lack of concentration,” Garba said.

“We knew that the Swedes would play a direct kind of game which is typical of their style and we told the players but it was unfortunate that we conceded those goals through lack of concentration.

“Of course, we came out to win but we are happy with the draw and I believe this is how God wanted it to be. We knew how they were going to play and I don’t think it was the size, that mattered rather the timing of our defence was poor.”

Garba has, however, promised that “the Iraqis would live to tell the story” when they face Nigeria in one of the final games of Group F in Dubai.
