  • Jim Iyke’s debt case still in court, says manager

Jim Iyke’s debt case still in court, says manager

Following a court order served to Nollywood actor Jim Iyke, asking him to pay the sum of 15.7M to a lady by the name Habiba Abubakar, the actor’s manager has revealed that the case is still in the court and there is no definite answer from the side of the actor presently.

In a chat with The Nation, the manager, simply known as Sam, further stated that by the end of the week, the actor’s camp should be able to come out with a more concrete response.

Reports alleged that the actor, having been dodging the court for years, has finally been found guilty over the infamous suit Habiba filed against him.

Recall that Habiba accused Jim of owing her the sum of N16.5 million some years ago.

She said: “I run a charity organization called Elderly and the Poor, a self-sponsored charity organization. Jim Iyke needed help for his aged mother who is crippled by leg problems and high blood pressure and now bed-ridden. We took her to both England and India.”

As reported, during the court session, Habiba had proof of the UK visit, as the actor’s mum had stayed with her in her UK residence where she took her for a complete health checkup.

“We were told what was wrong with her and how much her hospital stay for knee replacement will cost my charity in UK and we have a policy for money, so we decided to take her to India in first class because it’ll be cheaper there, attached are tickets, photos as exhibit no,” she claims in the court reports.

The report further claims that Jim Iyke finally ran to her for assistance, wanting her to help his new clothing line grow by investing in it, she had no option than to invest, even though she was told by many people that he is bad, but she didn’t want to judge him by what others said.

“Jim told me he has been on the street since age 11 and that he had no childhood. I cried, because I had a son of that age at that minute. It was really heart breaking. But I realize now that you can take a person off the street but you can’t take street off the person, no matter what you do,” the report also states.

  • I didn’t go into politics by accident, says Jim Iyke

I didn’t go into politics by accident, says Jim Iyke

After his recent visit to ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo, at the presidential hilltop Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nollywood actor Jim Iyke who is presently in Nigeria for his political ambition under Young Democratic Party (YDP), has stated that he did not get into politics by accident.

The actor explained this because some people felt that his visit was based on self agenda,

“I read many comments on the wake of YDP’s meeting with H.E OBJ,” said Jim Iyke.

“My job description as DG entails to broker platforms to engage diverse personalities with stakes in Nigeria leadership. I am a messenger and conduit. The dissemination and pulse of our dream must be conveyed inconsequential of the sect or platform of interest.

“I endeavour to create a seamless conservation between the establishment and our ideals and vision. There’s a fine line between perception and reality. We must not allow fear and paranoia be our perception. This is what brought us to the bottomless void; voiceless, formless. Their time is in recess. Even heaven knows it!

“Their gimmicks have long grown obsolete and redundant. Instead of standing against each other let us stand for one another. It is our greatest weapon against the status quo. The reality is what we bear as a mandate and vision. We stand for a new frontier and dispensation. The greatest disservice will be not to measure the depth of our hindsight in order to understand the challenges ahead of us. Proxy doesn’t entail association. Many students of history and leaders of thoughts will be unbiased by my argument. I am driven my passion and conviction. It’s all that has driven the propensity and pace of my pursuits.

He continued, saying, that on leaving Atlanta to Nigeria, “My party asked me with superior reasons to leave the comfort of my home in Atlanta and serve. I obeyed. I don’t intend to regret it or sell out. My horizon is higher than immediate gain. YDP is the vehicle. The members and aspirants the driver. You, my people, the engine. One cannot do without the other. It’s collective, unanimous, and unequivocal. We shall arrive without mishaps. This is not an accident. It is God’s engineering. It’s time for sober introspection. The wills and caprices of politics must be in full practice in order to prevail. Every tool at our disposal must be utilized. A student soon becomes a tutor with the right will and gifts.”

Iyke, last week, posted a photo of himself at the airport in Monrovia, capital of Liberia, about to jet off from that country.

According to the post, Iyke had fled the country, cutting short his business trip over fears of contracting the disease.

  • Why Jim Iyke went to Synagogue

Why Jim Iyke went to Synagogue

With the news of the dramatic encounter of Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke, at the Synagogue Church, still going viral, many have been wondering if the mission of the thespian, last Sunday was a conscious effort by him to find a wife.
Reports on the actor’s visit to the church indicated that he was being delivered of a negative spirit that has prevented him from getting married.
But recent finding by The Nation revealed that Jim Iyke  accompanied a friend, whose mother was seriously ill to the church where he was caught in the web of what was said to be a rescue exercise.
Jim’s friend’s mother is said to be on admission at a hospital, in Ajao Estate, from where she was taken to the church, but perhaps due to the popularity of the actor, the church ministers went for him, claiming there was more to his not being married than meets the eye.
A two-minute video on the church’s website shows the actor struggling with several officers of Pastor TB Joshua, the head of the church, as they fought to keep him still.
The session, as shown in the video got the thespian sprawling on the floor, after falling several times, and shouting incoherent words.
“What do you guys want from me,” asked the actor, apparently recovering from frenzy. “Take it easy, the man of God will like to see you after the service,” replied one of the church ministers, as they led the actor away from the middle of the congregation, looking bewildered.
Reports say the sick woman’s son was also attended to during the church service, but the woman, who was the real reason Jim and his friend went to the church was told to come back at a later date. The woman, whom we learnt was brought to Lagos from Abuja in search of solution to her health problem, had since been taken back to the Ajao Estate hospital where she is waiting for another appointment from the church.
