    Bassey Akpan joins Abia Warriors

    Former Nigerian under-17 goalkeeper, Bassey Akpan, has completed a move to Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Abia Warriors.

    Supersport.com has been informed that the goalkeeper joined Abia Warriors on loan for the rest of the season.

    The move to sign Akpan was sanctioned by Abia Warriors head coach, Ladan Bosso, who has been busy strengthening his team in this ongoing transfer window.

    “Bassey Akpan is training with us,” confirmed Abia Warriors spokesman, Igwe Onuoha. “That is all I can confirm at this time.”

    The signing of Akpan comes on the heels of an indefinite suspension handed to Joseph Onuoha, who has been the team’s first-choice goalkeeper this term.

    The former Nigerian junior international has had an impressive start in the Nigerian top flight while with Bayelsa United where he kept clean sheets in his first three matches Gabros FC, Sharks and FC Taraba.

    Simon joins Nasarawa Utd

    Former Gombe United left full back Timothy Simon, is now fully cleared to turn out for Nasarawa United in the Glo NPFL league, after the conclusion of his transfer.

    Simon played for relegated Gombe United least season and while he has been training with Nasarawa United and agreed a transfer but, his transfer papers were yet to be released by his former side.

    However, his licence was finally released making him eligible to feature for the team in their remaining games of the season.

    “I couldn’t play in our first two games because my transfer was yet to be concluded but, I was told a while ago that my license is ready so I am free to play for Nasarawa United,” he told SL10.ng.

    Speaking on his former side, the left footed ace, who is comfortable in defence or out on the wings, wished the team well in their campaign in the second division of Nigeria football.

    “After two years with Gombe United I am forever grateful to the team, it’s a pity we got relegated last season and I pray they gain promotion back to the top flight next season”.

    Alubarikacrooner, Patoranking, has reportedly signed an international distribution deal with VP Records, one of the world’s biggest music labels for reggae and dancehall music.

    The artiste made this revelation in a social media post, showing a picture of himself, signing the deal with the label’s executives. He captioned the photo; “FostonMusik/VP Records. God is great. Impossible is nothing#whayasay.”

    Patoranking came into the Nigerian music industry in 2013 with his hit single, Alubarika which features Timaya. He established his presence with the remix of his second single Girlie O featuring Tiwa Savage in 2014. In the same year, he won the coveted Rookie of the Year award at Headies.

    Patoranking signed to FostonMusik in 2014 after being closely associated to Timaya the previous year.

    Founded in 1979, VP Records is rated as one of the largest reggae music labels in the world. The imprint has over fifty four acts on its roster. Some of the artistes include Sean Paul, Bounty Killer, Barrington Levy, Mad Cobra, Mr. Vegas, Shaggy and Maxi Priest.

    Manchester City have announced that they have reached an agreement with Malaga for Flying Eagles midfielder Chidiebere Nwakali to spend the next two and a half years on loan in Spain.

    The 18 – year – old has yet to make his international debut for the Super Eagles, and The Citizens were aware that he’s not eligible to be granted a work permit by the Home Office.

    Nembe City attacking midfielder, Emmanuel Egesi has joined Enyimba for the upcoming 2014/15 Glo Premier League season.

    The shining star at the middle for the demoted side in the out gone season is expected to resume camp with the Peoples Elephant at the weekend for the new season.

    Egesi said he wants to be champion with the Aba-based side both in the domestic as well as the continental fronts.

    “I’ve joined Enyimba for the 2014/15 league season and it makes me one of the happiest men on earth at the moment.

    “Unarguably, Enyimba are the best team in Nigeria as well as the dream team of any domestic player so I’m really happy with the opportunity to play for the side.

    Alabi Joins Accrington on Loan

    League Two side Accrington Stanley have announced that they have struck a deal with Stoke City for Anglo-Nigerian striker,James Alabi.

    The 19-year-old, who plays for the Stoke City Under 21s, will spend the next one month on loan at the Crown Ground, Accrington, and the transfer has been ratified by the Football League.

    Speaking on the temporary acquisition of Alabi, manager James Beattie told the club’s official website : ”We are pleased to have James on board. He is a strong centre forward who will be a good addition to our squad.”

    For the next 30 days, James Alabi will sport the number 23 jersey for the Lancashire based outfit.

    He made his league debut in the 1-0 loss to Southend United on Saturday, coming on as a substitute for Kal Naismith in the 78th minute.

    The former Celtic youth-teamer previously had loan spells at Scunthorpe United, Mansfield Town and Forest Green Rovers.

    Midfielder  Abdullahi Alfa is expected to join the Flying Eagles squad on today in Kaduna for a 2015 AYC qualifier against Lesotho after undergoing trials in Norway.

    He is the only player on the 25-man squad named at the weekend who is yet to be in Kaduna.

    The Nigeria U-20s,the Flying Eagles , arrived Kaduna Sunday afternoon after a short bus ride from Abuja ahead of a final 2015 AYC qualifier next weekend.

    The squad of 25 players were led by coach Manu Garba.

    They are putting up at the African Continental Hotel in Kaduna,just as they did when they hosted Tanzania in the previous round of the AYC qualifiers.

    The Flying Eagles will begin training today at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna,where the qualifier against Lesotho will be played on Saturday.

    The return leg match will be played a fortnight later in Maseru with the overall winners advancing to the 2015 AYC in Senegal in March.

    Lesotho are expected later in the week in Kaduna.

    “We are very much at home in Kaduna after we thrashed Tanzania 4-1 in the previous round,” said defender Zaharadeen Bello.

    “And we hope to again prove how much at home we are here with another convincing victory against Lesotho on Saturday.”

    Orelesi joins Metalury Zaporizhzhia

    Former Flying Eagles defensive midfielder, Nurudeen Orelesi, who played at the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt, has left Albanian club Skënderbeu Korçë to Ukrainian team, Metalury Zaporizhzhia for an undisclosed fee.

    The former Bolowotan FC defensive midfielder,Orelesi joined  Albanian club side Skënderbeu Korçë in 2011 but has moved on to face a new challenge in Ukraine.

    The chairman of Orelesi’s former club (while he was in Nigeria) Bolowotan FC, Toyin Gafaar broke the news to SL10 on phone and he quoted Orelesi as saying the strong defensive midfielder is happy the deal has been completed.

    “It’s a new challenge no doubt,I’ve spent the last four years in Albania and I won some trophies with my former team but right now I’m with Metalury Zaporizhzhia and I’m happy the deal has been completed” said Orelesi
