    E-money promises to train late Junior Pope’s children

    Popular singer, Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-money, has offered to cater to the needs of the late Junior Pope’s children.

    The Nation reported that the actor alongside four others died when the boat conveying them capsized on Wednesday, April 10.

    He highlighted the late actor’s painful words, depicting that he was the only child of his parents and that he has three children which he is responsible for.

    The wealthy musician vowed to be responsible for their upbringing.

    He shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram which reads: “It has been one week since you departed from this world, leaving behind a profound sense of loss that reverberates not only among us but also across Africa and beyond. Your presence, as both a friend and a brother, is deeply missed, JP.

    “The weight of your absence bears heavily upon our hearts, yet we draw comfort from the belief that God will grant us the resilience to carry forward and uphold the legacy you’ve entrusted to us.

    Recalling the late actor’s last words, he added: “We tenderly remember your final words on the boat, “Na only me dem born, I get 3 children na me go raise them,” and we solemnly commit to honouring that vow. Your children now find solace in the embrace of the Okonkwo family, and we, as members of that family, pledge to nurture them as you would have wished. Your absence leaves a palpable void, JP and your memory will forever be held dear.

    “Rest peacefully, knowing that you are deeply cherished, and may God’s blessings encompass your soul, your family, and all who hold you in their hearts.”

    Junior Pope: Movie Producers suspends Adanma Luke, begin investigation

    The Association of Movie Producers (AMP) has suspended one of its members, Adanma Luke following the boat mishap that claimed five lives, a week ago during her movie shot. 

    The Nation reported that the late actor Junior Pope was set to star in an upcoming film produced by Adanma Luke but died in a boat accident.

    Pope and four others perished on April 10 in Asaba, Delta state, after falling into the River Niger while traveling to a filming location.

    A nine-member committee has been established by AMP to look into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Junior Pope and other individuals, according to a statement the organisation released and signed by its national president, Queen Blessing Ebigieson.

    The statement also added that Adanma has been advised to suspend all work “pending the submission of the investigations report and the final decision is taken.”

    AMP also sympathised with the bereaved families who lost their loved ones as a result of the boat mishap.

    The statement reads in part: “Following this tragic incident, AMP has set up a nine-man committee to investigate all activities that led to the death of these practitioners on the set of the movie, Another side of Life!

    “Meanwhile, the producer, Adamma Luke, is hereby advised to suspend all work pending on the submission of the investigations report, and the final decision is taken.

    “As we mourn our fellow filmmakers, we ask for calm from all sectors, stakeholders, and the public.”

    Late actor Junior Pope‘s viral video recounting how he met his wife has resurfaced on social media.

    Recall that the actor died when the boat carrying him and four others capsized on the Anam River in Anambra state while returning from a movie location.

    The viral recording showcases the late actor reminiscing about the encounter that led to their union.

    Jnr Pope recounted how he inadvertently shared his phone number during a film shoot, prompting numerous calls, including one from his future wife.

    The late father of three recalled how he remained steadfast in his pursuit of love despite facing opposition from his wife’s family, including stern warnings and threats of arrest.

     Undeterred by the challenges, he said he persisted in building a lasting relationship, culminating in a four-year courtship before exchanging marital vows.

    He said in parts: “I mistakenly called my phone number on that movie. One of the callers that called me after the movie was this lady seated here, she called me…I told her to send a message on Facebook so I could see her face, she wrote to me on Facebook and I got in touch with her…I drove down to the traffic light to see her.

    “While dating her, her father threatened me, I received a call one day and the voice said ‘I will lock you up’, I did not give up.”

    Junior Pope: Angela Okorie renews fight with Zubby Michael

    Actress Angela Okorie has resumed her online feud with her colleague, Zubby Michael following the death of his friend, Junior Pope.

    Okorie noted on her Insta Story how Zubby was Junior Pope’s best man during his wedding, alleging that Zubby harboured envy and was never a genuine friend to him.

    She reiterated her previous warning to him, stating her intention to disgrace him whenever she was ready.

    Criticizing the actor’s behaviour, she emphasized his inability to maintain genuine friendships due to envy and an obsession with being number one.

    She said: “Zubby you be Junior Pope’s best man for his wedding if am not mistaken. Na thunder go fire you Zubby. I tell you say you don buy market I told you and Mula that day that I will disgrace you that you should be ready for me, you are never anybody’s friend. Braaaaa you wicked reach inside your blood, you are too envious, you be number 1 but my artist fee na times 10 your own yet you dey jonse mugu, the world must start seeing your wickedness.

    “These blood-sucking demons been doing too much. Speak up when you see evil. Junior Pope na person. E pain me say he die I swear.”

    Okorie also exposed the industry and its fake love, noting that it was in the same industry, she was poisoned.

    She added: “Junior Pope was one person in millions. Anyone who comes across him can testify. He is a very soft, non-problematic human, a happy soul. He is always about his family but sometimes to be that quiet no good cos people go just dey match you anyhow.

    “They know I am one of the best things that has ever happened to Nollywood. Haters can argue if they like, but God no gree hahaha. You see this industry, they hate themselves no real love o. Do you know how many times these heartless people have poisoned me? Even before I was shot. Run from Nollywood friends. How much hate, what did I do? Nothing. Just because am doing well some of them wey no fit sing wan kill their selves.”

    Junior Pope: Some pains never go away – May Edochie mourns victims of boat mishap

    May Edochie, the estranged wife of controversial actor, Yul Edochie, has penned down a comforting message to the families of those who lost their lives in the river including Pope Odonwodo known as Junior Pope.

    The Nation reported that Junior Pope’s death left the industry in shock when reports emerged that the actor drowned while filming with producer Adanma Luke.

    On Instagram, May Edochie spoke about the pains of losing a dear one while praying for strength for the bereaved families.

    May prayed that helpers will locate the bereaved to help them go through the dark time and speed up their healing process.

    Having been through the pains of losing her first son, the now mother of three said some pains can never go away because they are unforgettable.

    May Yul Edochie on Instagram, wrote: “Some pains can never go away. They are simply unforgettable. The only option is to find a way to live with them because we have to keep existing, which is an extremely difficult thing to do.

    “Dear Lord, please grant eternal rest unto the souls of the JP, the other tragic victims, and all the faithful departed.

    Angela Okorie calls out colleagues for ‘fake’ tributes to Junior Pope

    Actress Angela Okorie has blasted some of her colleagues mourning the untimely death of actor Pope Odonwodo, popularly known as Junior Pope.

    The Nation reported the actor drowned but there have been speculations that there are conspiracies involved in his death.

    In a new post, Angela Okorie slammed her colleagues who never celebrated Junior Pope while he was alive but penned down lengthy messages or notes to mourn his death.

    The actress called out their hypocrisy as being evil and affirming that she will be opening up about the fake ones who didn’t do the late Junior Pope right.

    She also alleged the dark movements of the movie industry, how they kill people for roles, inflict deadly disease on the innocent and many more.

    In an extensive Instagram post, Okorie vowed that her revelations are more than a tape because she will talk while still alive.

    She wrote: “Apparently I would like to eat before talking. So I can have enough stamina to talk. I am warming up, Wherever you see evil speak out. 

    “Since the death of junior pope I haven’t been myself , I see a lot of fake ass people writing epistles but when he was alive they didn’t do him right mad people, bombastic elements with no pedigree because of role some of una Dey kill people , inflict deadly diseases on innocent people before you know it dem go just say the person don kpaii. Even the music industry is not exceptional, if I start to talk Tape fit no reach but I go talk cos am alive now so the world will know. I am coming.”

    Junior Pope: AGN constitutes committee to address safety, welfare of members

    Emeka Rollas, President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, has established a special committee aimed at enhancing the safety and welfare of its members.

    The decision followed the tragic boat accident that claimed the lives of five film workers, including the renowned actor Junior Pope, on Wednesday.

    The Guild made this announcement via a statement signed by Kate Henshaw, Director of Communications, and shared on its Instagram page.

    The statement partly read: “Following the recent fatal boat mishap on the River Niger which claimed the lives of five film practitioners, including renowned actor, John Paul Odonwodo, aka Junior Pope, in Asaba, Delta State, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas, has set up a special committee.”

    The message explained that the committee’s goal was to “fine-tune the existing bylaws to include member welfare, standard safety guidelines, and set protocols.

    “Engage all relevant guilds and associations for the full implementation. Also recommend disciplinary measures against erring members, producers, and production companies. Seek further engagement with other guilds/associations and relevant stakeholders on drafting general by-laws for the industry.

    “Recommend possible requirements in setting up a royalty collecting body or rights collecting society for performers in Nollywood.”

    Emeka Ike, a veteran actor, leads the community, and Jude Orhorha acts as secretary.

    The committee also includes Joke Silva, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Francis Duru, Bimbo Manuel, Patience Ozokwor, Hilda Dokubo, Abubakar Yakubu, Gideon Okeke, Anthony Ogbetere, Femi Branch, and Kevin Uvo.

    Following the recent death of some actors, the AGN banned actors from filming movies in riverine locations or taking boat rides.

    Junior Pope: Anambra police recover three more bodies

    The Police Command in Anambra, said it had recovered three more bodies from the  boat mishap that occurred on Wednesday, in Anam community, Anambra West Local Government Area of the state.

    The command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said this in a statement in Awka on Friday.

    Ikenga said that the command’s Marine Police unit in Anambra recovered the remaining three bodies of the boat accident during the shooting of a movie.

    He said that two of the bodies were recovered on April 11, while the last body was washed ashore by the tide early Friday.

    Ikenga said that the bodies have been deposited in an undisclosed mortuary in Asaba, Delta.

    He said that the President of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has been notified of the recovery.

    “Mr Aderemi Adeoye, Commissioner, Anambra Police Command, has urged all water commuters to be safety conscious,” he said.

    He advised water commuters to avoid behaviour that might jeopardise their safety and that of others on water transit.

    Adeoye assured that the command would thoroughly investigate the cause of the sad accident that claimed the lives of five actors and proffer a lasting solution.

    He commended the Marine Command Unit and its Commander for their dedication to duty.

    Actor and comedian, MC Mbakara has speculated that Junior Pope’s death was a prank planned to promote a movie in which he featured.

    Mbakara could be heard voicing his mind, insisting that Actor Junior Pope’s death was faked to promote the movie.

    He made several statements in the video to support his claims.

    Actor Tochukwu also known as TC Virus, who escaped the boat mishap that claimed Junior Pope and three crew members, has alleged the film director, Adanma Luke, attempted to arrest him after the incident.

    Tochukwu claimed Luke ordered his arrest following claims by the boat operator that he caused the mishap that led to Pope’s death.

    The Nation reported that Pope and three crew members died  in a boat accident in Anambra while returning from a filming location.

    TC Virus, who was also in the boat, escaped after reportedly leaning on a rope after the incident.

    However, TC Virus said the boat operator told Luke that he stood up and blocked his view during the trip.

    In an Instagram Live, he said: “Adanma Luke asked the Marine police to arrest me because the boat operator was lying that I stood up during the trip so he could not see the oncoming boat.

    “As slim as I am, I stood in front of the boat and you can’t see, are you okay? You who’s a pilot.”
