“We have been working on a deal and he (Omeruo) will be with us on Tuesday (today) and staying for the rest of the season.

“He’s a strong defender and we need to improve at the back. We need a strong defender and Kenneth is a strong player, a very good player, he can play at centre-back and right-back,” the Spanish manager added.

Kenneth Omeruo received a massive boost to his Chelsea future after manager Jose Mourinho ordered he stopped training with the reserves.

“Mourinho has directed that Kenneth only train with the main squad of Chelsea and no longer with the reserves. This clearly shows the increased confidence the coach has in the player,” Omeruo’s adviser Chika Akujobi informed MTNFootball.com.

However, it is most likely that the Nigerian defender will still be shipped out on loan when the winter transfer window opens next month.

“Chelsea are studying various loan offers for Kenneth. They want him to enjoy regular playing time and so will work with a club who can guarantee this. But most importantly they want him to stay back in England,” Akujobi said.

There have been several interests for the Eagles star mostly from clubs in the English Championship.

Omeruo, who first played on loan for a season and a half at Dutch club, ADO Den Haag, will need to start playing first-team football in the new year, which is also a World Cup year.

Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo has resumed training with the Chelsea first team after three months on the sideline.

The Nigeria international uploaded a picture of himself with the likes of Oscar, Michael Essien and Frank Lampard training at the Cobhams ground.

“Finally back to training,” an elated Omeruo tweeted on Friday with his picture at training.

The 19-year-old central defender injured his shoulder during the last FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil and has since not featured for both club and country.

Now ready for life at London with Chelsea, Omeruo spent all of last season on loan at Eredivise side ADO Den Haag. ADO finished comfortably mid-table and for his efforts, voted him their player of the year.

Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo, will join up with English Premier League side Chelsea for pre-season training ahead of next season.

Omeruo has been on loan at Dutch club ADO Den Haag from Chelsea for the past one and half seasons.

Top representatives of the central defender informed MTNFootball.com that the 19-year-old defender has begun processing his travel papers to train with Chelsea ahead of the new season.

“Kenneth has begun processing his papers to allow him join Chelsea for pre-season in the summer,” one of the player’s handlers disclosed.

“There will most likely be some changes at Chelsea and it would be after those changes that one would really know whether he will now stay at Chelsea or be loaned out again.”

Last year, Omeruo failed to join up with ‘The Blues’ for pre-season training in the United States of America because he could not get an entry visa to the country in good time.

Omeruo, who has made 26 appearances and scored two goals since his arrival in January 2012, featured for ADO Den Haag in central defence in Sunday’s 2-0 defeat of Feyenoord.

“He was very excited with his performance as a central defender. This was most probably his last home match for ADO,” said the player’s representative.
