Mofoluwato Anidugbe Uthman, known as Uthy Grind and brother to hitmaker Kizz Daniel, has stepped into the hospitality scene with the soft launch of UNDA Lounge in Lekki Phase 1.

The event gathered close friends and family who got the first look at the Caribbean-styled space set on the waterfront.

Anidugbe said the project was born out of a long running passion shaped by his work in entertainment.

He explained his vision during the launch, saying, “This is a passion project for me. I’ve always wanted to go into hospitality because I’m already very vast in the entertainment industry, and I feel hospitality and entertainment go hand in hand.”

He said he wanted to create something fresh for Lagos nightlife.

“I created something that has never been seen before: UNDA, located by the waterside at 8 Wole Olateju Lekki phase 1. It’s a Caribbean-inspired playground. The location is right by the water and it is incredibly beautiful,” he said.

Affordability, according to him, is a core part of the brand. UNDA plans to host live sessions, listening parties, celebrity performances, and art showcases.

An art gallery sits inside the lounge, giving guests another reason to return.

The menu focuses on seafood, which ties back to the name “UNDA.” Anidugbe said it reflects the idea of life under water. The official launch on December 17 will feature big names, including Kizz Daniel.

Kizz Daniel speaks on missed Paris concert amid backlash

Afrobeats singer Kizz Daniel has broken silence on missing his Paris concert, citing a dispute between his tour agent and the event promoter.

Detailed on Instagram story, Daniel said he was ready to perform but missed his flight due to delays caused by his agent trying to resolve payment issues.

He claimed his agent, Olamide Baron, had sold the show to another promoter who allegedly breached their contract by not paying the balance.

Kizz Daniel claimed he was prepared to perform and even arrived at the venue, but the event organisers had closed for the night.

He wrote: “First, this wasn’t my fault. Whatever clips y’all are seeing is a beef between the tour Agent @olamidebaron and the show promoter. I was paid to come Perform in Paris by @olamidebaron in full, he sold the show to another promoter and according to him the promoter breached his contract by not paying him his balance.

“I’ve been ready since 6am for a 12:25pm flight, thankfully my brother @adesope_shopsydoo was with me at the hotel. We were delayed from flying by @olamidebaron So he could get his money which I wasn’t aware of until later. He resolved the issue with the promoter but we couldn’t make the flight.
The next available flight according to Baron was 5:25pm.

“We came into Paris late because of an unresolved issue between two promoters. I was paid and was ready to perform !! I never requested for a type of car or asked they bring an Escalade , All lies. I’ve bin going to shows in rented cabs since I got to Europe. I came to the Venue still because I wanted to perform, unfortunately the venue closes by 11pm according to the promoters…I tried my best to make this run a smooth one. But sometimes “e get as e be”.

He also highlighted his past performances in Italy and Sweden, where he went on stage despite late hours, and expressed his readiness for upcoming shows in Amsterdam and Cologne.

“As for the first 2 shows we did Italy & Sweden. I got to the venue at exactly the time given to me to arrive. Sometimes promoters want to wait till they have a full hall before performance ..I performed 4am in Parma ( from getting ready since 8pm)

“1:30 am in Sweden ( from getting ready since 9pm ). I couldnt do a full set in Sweden bcos the venue was gonna shut down due to curfew. As for Amsterdam I’m here and ready. The promoter gave 3am as performance time. (I have it in recording). And I will be there by HIS Grace

“Cologne. The promoters gave 10pm as performance time and I will be there. Excited,” he added.

Kizz Daniel denies alleged freezing of accounts

Popular singer and songwriter, Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, better known as Kizz Daniel, has debunked a viral report claiming that a court ordered the freezing of his personal and business accounts over a contract dispute.

The report, which spread widely on social media, alleged that the Buga crooner was directed to pay €200,000 in damages for failing to honor a show despite receiving a $50,000 advance payment, and that his accounts with Access Bank were frozen by court order.

Kizz Daniel’s PR team described the report as false, misleading and a deliberate attempt to tarnish the artist’s reputation.

According to the team: “This is a fluke and a big lie. Kizz Daniel has no such case in court, and no accounts have been frozen. We urge fans, partners, and the general public to disregard this fabricated story.”

They further assured that legal steps will be taken against those behind the fake report, emphasising that the artist remains focused on his music and upcoming shows.

His management insisted such distractions will not deter him from delivering quality music to his fans worldwide.

It would be recalled the promoter of Afrobeats Meets Berlin 2022 actively used Kizz Daniel’s name, image, and likeness along with that of other artists to sell tickets and build hype for a festival that ultimately never happened.

“The management wondered: “Now, all traces of the event have mysteriously vanished from the internet. Social media pages deactivated. No accountability. No explanation.

“So the question is simple: does the Promoter not owe fans, ticket buyers, and the artists themselves an explanation? Why exploit the brand power of performers only to disappear when it’s time to deliver?

On why he decided to collaborate with Kizz Daniel for the remix of his hit single, he said, “I felt he was the perfect match. Everybody has been asking when they were going to see me and Kizz do a song together. I was like, okay, I’m going to surprise my fans. I have to make sure that  whatever the fans ask from me, I have to deliver for them. I give fans what they want and I like to make sure that they’re satisfied.. I know then, that the rest is going to fall in place.”

Kizz Daniel releases new EP titled ‘Lemon Chase’

A renowned Nigeria Afrobeats superstar, Daniel Anidugbe, a.k.a Kizz Daniel, has released new Expected EP titled “Lemon Chase”.

Mr Christian Agadibe, the Chief Executive Officer of Artmatazz Media, a media company to the superstar, spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Thursday.

Agadibe said the seven-track project was more than just a teaser for Daniel’s upcoming album “Uncle K”, a deeply personal body of work that captured everything from love and loss to peace and a good time which every listener could relate to.

According to him, each track on the EP reflects a different piece of that emotional puzzle.

“From the opener, “Black Girl Magic” to the last track on the EP, “Police” which features Mavin’s Johnny Drille and five-time Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo, the Afrobeats sensation made sure to evoke several emotions through his music.

“For the “Lemon Chase EP”, Kizz Daniel brings together a powerful lineup of well-known artists, each adding their own unique style,” he said.

“Production credits include Reward Beatz, Blaise Beatz, Magic Sticks, Bando, and Ayzed who all have previously created chart topping records with the artiste and it is a testament of what’s to be expected from the EP.

“Reward Beatz produced “Eyo” and “Black Girl Magic” alongside Bando and Blaise Beatz, Blaise Beatz led production on “Secure” and “Peace I Chose”.

“Titi” was produced by Magic Sticks and co-produced by Reward Beatz, and Blaise Beatz while “Al Jannah” was shaped by Ayzed’s touch,” he explained.

On the EP, Agadibe quoted Kizz Daniel saying, “when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade out of it.

“I wanted this project to feel like real life; sweet, sour, confusing, beautiful.

“This is music for your heart, for when you’re healing, hoping or remembering. I just wanted it to be honest, authentic and true to self.”

He added that with “Lemon Chase” Daniel continues to grow, not just as a hitmaker, but as a storyteller unafraid to touch uncomfortable spots.

“The EP sets the tone for “Uncle K” and reminds us the name Kizz Daniel would always be remembered for,” he said.
