    Kizz Daniel, Asake, Chike explain decision to join Glo ambassadors

    The three Afrobeats stars, Kizz Daniel, Asake, and Chike, who recently became  Glo ambassadors, have explained  on the reason behind inking the deals.

    Asake said joining other Glo ambassadors had been a childhood dream.

    “It’s a great feeling becoming a Glo ambassador. I remember when I was growing up and going to school on the Island, I would see the big billboards of Glo ambassadors and I would wonder when my time would come. I had longed for it and thank God the dream came through,” he said.

    Asake’s story is similar to Chike’s. Chike said he had always hoped that he got signed to Glo as an ambassador and “it’s a great feeling joining the long list of ambassadors.”

     He said: “You know when I got into the industry and things weren’t happening at that time, I would see all these big names on Glo and I would wonder when my time would come. On my way to signing the deal with Glo, I remembered all those times and smiled that God’s time is the right time. It’s a good feeling being an ambassador,” Chike said.

    Buga star Kizz Daniel believes Glo’s platform is an enviable height that most Nigerian entertainers strive to be on.

    For him joining the list of ambassadors comes with a feeling of delight and he hopes to make his impact felt with the brand.

     At the signing of the three Afrobeats stars on September 29, Globacom noted that the announcement of the three brand ambassadors was part of its celebration of Glo’s 20th anniversary.

    A statement from Globacom further said it appointed the new ambassadors to project the power of youths and how much they could achieve with the right focus, passion and dedication that come from seeing others who have succeeded.

    “This is very much part of our tradition as we believe the strength of a nation lies in the ability and potentials of its youth. The engagement of these three stars as ambassadors is meant to project the best Nigerians as models for younger people who are tirelessly aspiring to succeed. This is more important in an era where positive heroes and mentors are scarce and hard to come by,” it said.

    Asake, Kizz Daniel, Chike sign multi-million Naira deals with Glo

    Globacom has signed a multi-million Naira deal with Afrobeats stars, Asake, Kizz Daniel, and Chike.

    On Friday, September 29, the trio of Ahmed Ololade, a.k.a Asake; Oluwatobiloba Anidugbe Daniel popularly known as Kizz Daniel, and Chike Ezekpeazu Osebuka inked the deals at the Michael Adenuga Towers on Victoria Island, Lagos.

    Though none of the singers revealed the amount for which they were signed by the telecom giant, sources revealed that it runs into hundreds of millions of Naira.

    Asake, a graduate of Theatre Arts from  Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State; Kizz Daniel, a degree holder in Water Engineering from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State and  Chike, a Computer Engineering graduate of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State were signed to the Glo family amidst pomp and glee.

    Globacom noted the announcement of the three brand ambassadors as part of its celebration of the 20th anniversary of Glo and added that it appointed the new ambassadors.

    It stated: “To project the power of youth and enterprise and how much they can achieve with the right focus, passion, and dedication that can come from seeing others who have succeeded. This is very much part of our tradition as we believe the strength of a nation lies in the ability and potentials of its youth”.

    “The engagement of these three stars as ambassadors “is meant to project the best Nigerians as models for younger people who are tirelessly aspiring to succeed. This is more important in an era where positive heroes and mentors are scarce and hard to come by. The intention is not just to promote the growth of music, Nollywood, and sports where we have been very prominent, but also to encourage our teeming youths to aspire toward realizing their dreams by looking up to these ambassadors as mentors”, the company disclosed.

    While congratulating the new ambassadors, Globacom urged youths not to relent until they achieve their dreams like Asake, Kizz Daniel, and Chike. It added that  “this is our way of inspiring a whole generation of young people with vision who can do better and achieve more without losing hope along the way, even when confronted with challenges.”

    Afrobeats sensation, Kizz Daniel, disclosed that despite the discord with his former record label boss, Emperor Geezy, there remained a display of affection and concern from the latter amidst their disagreements on social media.

    The “Shu Peru” singer made this known during a recent interview with UK-based Afrobeats podcaster, Adesope.

    He said: “Even when we were embroiled in public disputes, he would send me messages pointing out my mistakes, advising me on my actions, and reminding me not to engage in certain behaviours.

    “He did this while we were feuding on social media! He was concerned and just wanted to show me that he cared. Unfortunately, most people don’t get to see that side of him. He’s a genuinely good guy.”

    The revelation sheds new light on the dynamic between the two music industry figures, highlighting a bond that persisted even during their most challenging times.

    Popular pop star Oluwatobi Daniel Anidugbe aka Kizz Daniel has gone down memory lane of his fatherhood journey. 

    Featuring as a guest on the latest episode of the Afrobeats Podcast hosted by Adesope Olajide, the entertainer noted that his children changed him.

    He stated that having children brought out a different sort of humanness in him, making him more social and understanding.

    The ‘Shuperu’ crooner stated that being a father makes him want to be a good person, adding that he appreciates the person he has become because of his children.

    He said: “Having my kids just made me more human and I appreciate it so much. I can relate with people and connect with people more and I always want to be a good person.”

    Speaking of the training he is imbibing in his children, he said he is more of a strict father and a jovial one.

    “I’m training them to be militants, I have a strong hand, I no dey form Kizz Daniel with them. It’s even their uncle that is spoiling them,” he continued.

    In 2021, the singer welcomed his twin boys Jelani and Jalil, who were born on his birthday May 1.

    The news was welcomed with great joy by his fans and fellow celebrities with congratulatory messages overflowing.

    Following that, Daniel then revealed that his partner birthed triplet boys but they unfortunately, lost the third four days after birth.

    He vowed to be a great father to his boys and bought the infant boys’ penthouse apartments in Lekki to that effect.

    The singer has mostly kept his children out of the spotlight but continues to train them like a militant as he said.

    Famous singer Kizz Daniel has recalled how bullying while growing up made him unsociable.  

    The father of two said he finds it hard to socialise because he suffered as a child.

    He said he was chubby while growing up, which made the other children bully and make fun of him.

    The ‘Cough’ crooner disclosed this in the latest episode of the Afrobeats Podcast, hosted by Adesope Olajide.

    He said: “I have built a world of my own in my head since I was little. Because growing up, I was a fat kid. I was chubby. So, I don’t go out because the kids in the area make fun of me. They called me orobo (someone who is fat). And they bullied me. So I always stay indoors.

    “During that time that I always stayed indoors, I’d already built this fantasy world in my head. In the world that I have built in my head, I’m very comfortable in that space.

    “So, I reintroduced myself to the world after I lost weight; I lost all forms of social skills. I don’t know how to communicate. I don’t know how to socialise with people.”

    Kizz Daniel added that he takes alcohol sometimes to be able to deal with social anxieties.

    Singing sensation Kizz Daniel has opened up on being a victim of bullying as a young child because of his weight and the many ways it affected him.

    Kizz confessed to being a chubby child while growing up but was constantly being bullied by his peers who referred to him as ‘orobo’ a Yoruba term that loosely translates to very fat.

    He said being subjected to constant mockery for his weight by others made him withdraw from people and created an imaginary world for himself.

    He said he lost all forms of social skills seeing he struggled hard to communicate and socialise with people after he eventually trimmed down.

    Speaking on the latest episode of the Afrobeats Podcast with Adesope Olajide, the chart-topping “Buga” hit maker said: “I have built a world of my own in my head since I was little. Because growing up, I was a fat kid. I was chubby. 

    “So, I don’t go out because the kids in the area make fun of me. They called me orobo (someone who is fat). And they bullied me. So I always stay indoors.

    Popular singer Kizz Daniel has explained why he employed his former boss, Emperor Geezy after a fall out.

    Emperor Geezy was once the record label boss of Kizz after which the duo separated and beefed for a while.

    However, the ‘Odo’ crooner shocked many when he employed his former boss earlier in 2023 to manage his record label, Fly Boy Inc.

    On why he hired Emperor Geezy, Kizz Daniel said: “He is one of the people I can trust the Kizz Daniel brand with, I know he want this brand to grow.

    “We have been friends since last year. We had died the matter. I was just like can you hold down the label for me while I record and he said fine. He is one of the people I can trust the Kizz Daniel brand with.

    “He’s the type I can say you know what; you have passion for this brand and true love, not necessarily me, and I know you want this brand to grow.

    “Even that time we were fighting, he would still send me texts saying ‘you’re not supposed to be doing this; you shouldn’t be smoking’ and we’re fighting on social media. He love the brand, Kizz Daniel.”
