    Ex-convict arrested for stealing gate

A former inmate and his accomplice were apprehended in the early hours of yesterday for allegedly stealing a gate from a residential building in the Adeniyi Jones area of Ikeja.

The suspects, identified as Samuel Agbaje, 23, and Obia Moses, were intercepted around 3am by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) during a routine night patrol.

Agbaje, an ex-convict recently released from Kirikiri Medium Prison in October 2024, and his partner were found in possession of a disassembled half of the main gate, which they had reportedly removed from the property without the knowledge of the occupants. The operation reportedly went unnoticed by the residents until the suspects were brought back to the scene by the police.
