    Lateef Adedimeji thanks Gov Oyebanji for visiting movie set

    Actor and filmmaker Lateef Adedimeji has expressed his gratitude to Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji for visiting the set of his new movie project.

    In a post on Instagram, Adedimeji said he, his wife, and the entire crew and cast were “deeply honoured” by the Governor’s solidarity visit.

    According to him, the governor’s visit has boosted the team’s morale, adding that they are now more determined to deliver a world-class production that showcases the culture and heritage of the Ekiti people and the Yoruba tribe.

    Adedimeji appreciated the Governor’s constant support and belief in their project, stating that it reflects his visionary leadership and commitment to Ekiti’s heritage.

    He wrote, “My wife and I, and the entire production crew and cast were deeply honoured by the solidarity visit of His Excellency, Governor Biodun Oyebanji @biodunaoyebanji to the film location sets of our new project in Ekiti State.

    Lateef Adedimeji emerges Nigerian Muslim celebrity of the year

    Decorated Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji has been named Muslim Celebrity of the Year for the #MNAwards2025 by Muslim News Nigeria, celebrating his professional excellence and unwavering commitment to Islamic values in the entertainment industry.

    The announcement was made by the Publisher of the newspaper, Alhaji Rasheed Abubakar on Friday, November 14.

    Abubakar noted that Adedimeji stood out among his peers for meeting the criteria set for the Award, which recognises Muslims making impactful contributions to society in their respective professions/careers while staying true and committed to their faith.

    Adedimeji’s fame has soared in the last four years, with major roles in notable biopics such as Ayinla (2021), Jagun Jagun (2023) and the recently released Lisabi 1&2 (2024/2025), which earned accolades at the 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) and 2025 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).

    Despite his rising profile, the actor has remained steadfast in his callings while observing a relatively decent lifestyle and openly identifies as a Muslim, reflecting Islamic values, both on and off screen.

    As a Muslim, Adedimeji consistently projects a good image of Islam in the public sphere with the frequent use of Islamic greetings, supplications, and messages on his social media platforms, where he commands the respect of millions of followers and commands the following of million of fans.

    On social media, he regularly posts Islamic reminders, quotes from the Qur’an and Hadith, and encourages followers to pray, fast, and seek knowledge. His page becomes especially active with Islamic content on Fridays, during Ramadan and Dhul Hijjah, the month of Hajj, and publicly celebrates Islamic festivals, encouraging other celebrities and as well as fans to stay connected to their faith.

    One strong example of Lateef Adedimeji’s commitment to charitable causes and Islamic awareness is his active participation in Islamic youth events, humanitarian campaigns, and da’wah-driven initiatives across Nigeria.

    He credited the victory to the entire team behind the film, including the director, cast, and crew.

    He also thanked the AMAA for the recognition and acknowledged the film’s achievement in makeup, which was awarded to Hakeem Effect.

    FAMAA ’25: Lateef Adedimeji grateful as ‘Lisabi’ bags seven nominations

    Filmmaker and actor Lateef Adedimeji has reacted after his film ‘Lisabi’ secured seven nominations at the 2025 Africa Movie Academy Award (AMAA).

    The movie is recognised in categories including Best Visual Effects, Best Director, Best Make-up, Best Nigerian Film, Best Actor, Best Film in African Language, and Best Film Overall.

    In a Instagram post, Lateef expressed overwhelming gratitude, noting how much these nominations mean to him.

    He celebrated the collective effort behind Lisabi, thanking the cast, crew, distribution partners, and collaborators like Niyi Akinmolayan and Anthillstudios for bringing the project to life.

    He also shared an inspiring message, encouraging others to persevere as recognition will come in time.

    Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji has urged young creatives to prioritise craft and self-discovery over the pursuit of fame.

    Speaking at the Creative Youth Experience in Abeokuta, Ogun State, the ‘Lisabi’ star told hundreds of attendees that fame is fake and borrowed.

    “Fame is fake, it’s not real. It can come and go. A lot of people come with the mindset of fame first. You come looking for fame without the craft. When the fame comes, what will the fame meet? What becomes of you? You’re here now, when you go back to your house, you are going to be alone. At that time, who were you?” He queried.

    During a panel discussion tagged ‘Framing the Future’, Adedimeji stressed that true reward lies in personal growth and fulfilment, not celebrity status.

     “Fame doesn’t define you, identity does. Your values, your purpose, your inner compass. Those are real. Fame is borrowed; self-awareness is owned,” he said.

    Actor and filmmaker Lateef Adedimeji has stressed that fame is fleeting and should never define a person’s worth.

    Speaking at a conference, he warned against prioritising popularity over building substance and honing one’s craft.

    Adedimeji noted that when the spotlight eventually fades, individuals are left with their true identity, rooted in values and purpose.

    Adedimeji wrote, “Fame is Fake! The truth is- fame doesn’t define you, identity does. Your values, your purpose. Fame is fake, actually. It’s not real. It can come and go.

    “A lot of people come with the mindset of fame first. You come looking for fame without the craft. When the fame comes, what will the fame meet? What becomes of you? Fame is more like you’re here now, everybody hails you.

    “When you go back to your house, you’re going to be you and you alone. So, at that time when it is you and you alone, who are you?”

    Gospel singer Sola Allyson has reaffirmed connection with actor Lateef Adedimeji, despite their different religious backgrounds.

    During a recent music concert in Lagos, Sola invited Lateef to join her on stage, stating that their creative bond transcends religious differences.

    She stated that Lateef is her brother and religion cannot separate them, as they are children of God.

    In her words, “Lateef is a creative, I am a creative, religion can’t separate us, Lateef is a child of God, I am a child of God. We see our father differently, Lateef is my brother, so you can do with that whatever you like. So Lateef is going to sing to us and sing here today and if I know the song he is singing, I am going to sing with him. And the song is going to be sweet and you will be blessed.”

    Lateef Adedimeji reciprocated Sola’s sentiments, expressing  appreciation for her music and stating that their songs speak to him regardless of their religious affiliations.

    He stressed that God is a formless entity, “Listening to BBO and Aunty Sola’s songs doesn’t make me less of a Muslim; your songs speak to me just like a Muslim song will speak to me. God is a formless entity.”

    The duo’s performance was well-received by the audience, who applauded and cheered them on.

    This isn’t the first time they’ve collaborated, as they previously faced criticism for their joint performance in 2022.

    The film won the Best Indigenous Language (West Africa) category, showcasing outstanding storytelling and production in the Yoruba language.

    This recognition highlights the film’s impact and the creative efforts of the team behind it.

    Nollywood couple, Lateef Adedimeji and Adebimpe Oyebade Adedimeji have sealed fresh lucrative endorsement deals.

    The couple has been appointed brand ambassadors by KON Group, a Doha, Qatar-based international consulting firm.
