Abdul Maikaba is yet to put pen to paper with Akwa United, however he has revealed his motivation for the move.

“The contract is in front of me right now, I am studying it and I will likely sign today or tomorrow,” Maikaba told Goal.

“It feels good to start a new challenge , I had an interesting meeting with the management of Akwa United on Wednesday where we discussed very important details pertaining to the vision  and target of the club going into a new season.

“They told me their demands and I did express the way I get things done. After the meeting , I was given the draft of the contract which I am expected to study and sign.

“The target we both consent to is to be the champion next season or a minimum of a second place . With that said, a third place  finish for me is definitely a failure. I finished third with Wikki Tourist FC last season so I am expected to do better than what I achieved last season.”
