Marafa backs Trump’s plan to flush out terrorists in Nigeria

Former lawmaker Kabiru Marafa has voiced support for United States President Donald Trump’s recent threat of potential military intervention in Nigeria, arguing that the warning could compel authorities to take tougher action against insecurity.

Marafa, who represented Zamfara Central in the Senate from 2011 to 2019, made the remarks on Wednesday during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

“I strongly support the President of America, Donald Trump, for issuing that threat,” he said, insisting that he disagreed with Nigerians who criticised the former U.S. leader’s comments on the grounds of national sovereignty.

“I differ with a lot of Nigerians because most of them look at it from the perspective of sovereignty and patriotism, which I also subscribe to. But of what importance is sovereignty to a dead man?” he asked.

The former senator said Trump’s statements had once again drawn global attention to Nigeria’s security challenges, particularly attacks on Christian communities.

Trump had, last month, directed the Pentagon to begin preparing plans for possible action in Nigeria, accusing the Nigerian government of failing to stop what he described as the persecution of Christians.

In a social media post, Trump warned that the U.S. would cut all aid to Nigeria if the killings persisted, adding that Washington “may very well go into that now disgraced country, ‘guns-a-blazing,’ to completely wipe out the Islamic terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.”

He claimed to have instructed the “Department of War” to prepare for potential strikes, saying any attack “will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our cherished Christians.”

Marafa maintained that while national sovereignty is important, the protection of human life should be the government’s primary responsibility. He added that Trump’s posture had increased pressure on Nigerian authorities to respond more decisively.

Meanwhile, the United States recently designated Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” over alleged violations of religious freedom and the persecution of Christians.

You can’t deduct Tinubu’s 1m votes, Onoh counters Marafa

The former southeast campaign spokesman to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Dr. Josef Onoh, has countered Senator Kabiru Marafa’s recent vow to deduct one million votes from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s tally in the 2027 presidential election.

Onoh also flared Marafa’s “use-and-dump” leadership style allegation on Tinubu, stating  that Marafa appeared to be driven more by personal grievances than by objective assessments of the Tinubu administration.

Onoh said that Marafa’s threat of reducing  Tinubu’s votes could only be achieved by a political numerical magician.

Onoh in defence of the President provided a broader context of Tinubu’s leadership and commitment to Nigeria, including Zamfara State, saying that “Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. It’s perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we’ve learned something from yesterday.”

He described as false claim by Marafa that Zamfara is the most sidelined state in Nigeria, stating that President Tinubu’s administration has prioritized equitable resource allocation and infrastructure development across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“For instance, the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, recently clarified that infrastructure projects have been distributed fairly across the six geopolitical zones.

“Although the southeast strongly disagree but it accepts that under the current administration, the five southeast governors and all other state governors have received more allocations than any governor since 1999. So, we can’t blame the president for their failure to develop the region with significant investments on roads, agriculture, and security nationwide.”

Onoh stated that contrary to Marafa’s assertion, Zamfara state has not been neglected as it was allocated a key position with Bello Matawalle as Minister of State for Defence – a critical role given Zamfara’s security challenges.

“This appointment reflects Tinubu’s recognition of Zamfara’s strategic importance in addressing banditry and insecurity in the North-West. Marafa’s criticism that Tinubu’s government has failed to address insecurity in Zamfara is an oversimplification. The administration has taken concrete steps to tackle banditry and kidnapping, including deploying security forces and enhancing intelligence operations.

“While Marafa claims security was only deployed during elections, the reality is that Tinubu’s government has sustained efforts to combat insecurity nationwide, including Zamfara state where banditry remains a complex challenge inherited from previous administrations.

“The President has also initiated reforms in the security architecture, such as increased funding for the military and police, to ensure long-term stability. Blaming Tinubu for ongoing security issues ignores the deep-rooted nature of these challenges and the administration’s ongoing efforts to address them.

“Marafa’s accusation that Tinubu failed to reform the APC’s internal reward system and instead institutionalized a ‘monkey dey work, baboon dey chop’ culture to a great extent I concede to be true, and hopefully the president will change the narrative soon,” Onoh accepted.

He stated that President Tinubu has worked to strengthen the APC’s unity and inclusivity, ensuring that party loyalists across regions are rewarded.

“But the fault can be found in the various greedy party stakeholders who the president has saddled with distributing the rewards amongst key party loyalists but rather they distribute it amongst family members and personal associates who mostly worked against the president.

“We have a beehive of them in the administration but in fairness to the President key northern leaders, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, hold prominent positions in the administration.

“Marafa’s claim of being sidelined overlooks the fact that political appointments are based on merit, loyalty, and strategic considerations, not merely personal expectations. His resignation from the APC and subsequent attacks suggest a reaction to unmet personal ambitions rather than systemic betrayal which is understandable going by his efforts and personal expectations and anyone in his shoes will do exactly the same.”

He said that Tinubu’s leadership has focused on building a broad-based coalition, but that his efforts are undermined by most of the people he aims at building such coalition.

“Marafa’s contributions in 2023 are appreciated, but political loyalty cannot guarantee every individual’s desired role. If that be the criteria then I can boldly say that the Tinubu led government has been most unfair to me which is true in every way but never for one day have I complained because my support is rooted for the love of country above personal gains which is now lost in modern Nigeria politics.

“Marafa’s assertion that he can deduct one million votes from Tinubu’s 2023 tally is ambitious but questionable. In the 2023 presidential election, Tinubu secured 1,453,452 votes in the North-West, with Zamfara contributing a significant portion due to the APC’s strong campaign, in which Marafa played a role.

However, his claim to single-handedly influence one million votes ignores the collective efforts of the APC’s structure and the broader voter sentiment in Zamfara state.

“Marafa’s reference to Governor Dauda Lawal’s 2023 victory as evidence of shifting political alignments exaggerates his own influence. Lawal’s win was driven by multiple factors, including local dynamics and anti-incumbency sentiment, not solely Marafa’s political clout. The 2027 election will be determined by Tinubu’s performance and the APC’s campaign, not by one individual’s defection.

“Marafa’s use-and-dump accusation is a mischaracterization of Tinubu’s leadership style although not perfect yet throughout his political career, Tinubu as a person has been known for nurturing alliances and rewarding loyalty contrary to the APC as a party with various personal interest groups which their selfish interests should not be used to judge President Tinubu’s personal reward system.

“For instance, his continued support for Vice President Shettima and other northern leaders, even non northern leaders like Senate President Godswill Akpabio demonstrates a commitment to inclusivity. Marafa’s comparison to Nasir El-Rufai and Abdullahi Ganduje is selective; both leaders faced unique political circumstances, and their situations do not reflect a broader pattern of betrayal. Tinubu’s administration has appointed numerous northerners to key positions, including ministers, agency heads, and security chiefs, debunking claims of marginalization.

“If one should speak of marginalization, myself as a southeastern have all moral justification to speak out on behalf of my region because we are heavily marginalized but we are silent because our pain can be seen in our silence.

“Marafa’s focus on the 2027 election is premature and distracts from the Tinubu administration’s ongoing efforts to address Nigeria’s challenges. I can authoritatively say that President Tinubu is preoccupied with tackling economic, security, and infrastructural issues across the country, including in the North-West.

“His policies, such as the removal of fuel subsidies and efforts to stabilize the economy, are designed for long-term national benefit, even if they face short-term resistance. Marafa’s threat to mobilize against Tinubu overlooks the President’s commitment to delivering results that will resonate with voters by 2027.

“Senator Kabiru Marafa’s claims may be rooted in personal disappointment rather than a fair assessment of President Tinubu’s leadership. The President has demonstrated a commitment to equitable governance, security improvements, and party unity, although his efforts are majorly undermined by most of his appointees not limited to his inner circle who shield him from his loyal supporters in favour of praise singers.

“While Marafa’s contributions to the APC’s 2023 victory are acknowledged, his vow to deduct one million votes is an overstatement of his individual influence and underestimates Tinubu’s broad support base.

“President Tinubu remains focused on delivering transformative governance for all Nigerians, including the people of Zamfara, and will continue to work toward a united and prosperous Nigeria by 2027 subject to the will of God above numerical deductions.”

JUST IN: Marafa, supporters, resign from APC in Zamfara

Former Zamfara Central Senator, Kabiru Garba Marafa, and his supporters have announced their resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Marafa, who represented Zamfara Central in the Senate from 2011 to 2019, disclosed the decision alongside his supporters in a communiqué issued after a two-day meeting in Kaduna.

The gathering, held under the aegis of the Senator Kabiru Marafa Consultative Forum on August 27 and 28, 2025, brought together members from all 14 Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.

The forum deliberated on the security, political, and developmental challenges in the state.

At the close of the meeting, a communiqué was issued and signed by Comrade Bashir Muhammad Mafara (Chairman), Dr. Mannir Bature Tsafe (Secretary), Hon. Muzakkiru Sidi Bawa, Hon. Hussaini Dan Isah, Engr. Ibrahim Jekada Dansadau, Engr. Sani Garba Gusau, Hon. Bello Soja Bakyasuwa, and Mansur Haruna.

It reads in part, “After broad consultations and critical review of the prevailing circumstances, the political structure of Distinguished Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa across the 147 wards in Zamfara State unanimously resolved as follows:

“The entire structure with all its supporters hereby formally resigns from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in protest against the sustained injustice, mistrust, marginalisation, and deliberate neglect of Zamfara State and its people.

“That we shall, in due course, announce our next political direction, guided by the collective interest of the good people of Zamfara State.”

Marafa and his group however said they would announce their new direction at a later date.

The Senator had equally served as the Zamfara State Coordinator of Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Organisation during the 2023 Presidential Election.

  • You are not speaking for the north, Arewa youth tells NEF, Marafa

You are not speaking for the north, Arewa youth tells NEF, Marafa

…declares total support for Tinubu, Matawalle

A conglomerate of the northern youth movement has declared its support for the administration of President Bola Tinubu, insisting that his policies and programmes to revamp the economy and fight insecurity in the country are on course.

The group berated the recent utterances of some members of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), describing their outburst as personal and not in the interest of the northern region.

The movement which parades, the Arewa Consultative Youth Movement (ACYM), Northern Youth Association of Nigeria (NYAN), and Congress of Arewa Youth for Peace and Equity (CAYPE) in a press conference jointly addressed by the leaders of the groups also faulted the criticism of the minister of state for defence, Bello Matawalle by Sen. Kabiru Marafa.

Recall that Matawalle in his statement titled ‘Tinubu Presidency: Northern Elders Forum, a political burden to the North, they do not speak for the region,’ claimed that the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) were “political paperweight” and a burden to the region”.

In his reaction, Marafa countered the minister, stating that it was disrespectful to state that elders of the region who contributed significantly to President Tinubu’s victory were insignificant and burdensome to the nation.

But briefing journalists on Tuesday, April 223, in Abuja, the spokesperson for the three groups, Amb. Kabiru Yusuf threw their weight behind the Minister of State for Defence, describing Marafa as a hypocrite who while trying to support the government of the day is also defending NEF.

Read Also: Northern elders not fighting Tinubu, says Marafa

They also emphasised that some of the Northern Elders never supported the emergence of President Tinubu.

“As representatives of the Arewa Consultative Youth Movement, Northern Youth Association of Nigeria, and Congress of Arewa Youth for Peace and Equity, we unequivocally state that Kabiru Marafa’s tirade targeted at the Minister of State for Defense, Dr. Bello Mattawale, in a pretentious bid to defend the Northern Elders Forum and still express support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is at best the worst form of hypocrisy and a struggle between the former senator’s loyalty to the government of the day and its enemies.

“We are utterly disappointed by his comments claiming that Minister Matawalle, by chiding the Northern Elders Forum, was creating enmity between the President and the North. This is nothing but hogwash and a poor interpretation of events by Kabiru Marafa. In fact, it calls to question his basic understanding of the events that transpired, leading to Matawalle’s well-intentioned and well-delivered response to the forum. The forum, in its highhandedness and delusion, claimed that it now regrets supporting President Bola Tinubu’s bid for the office of Nigeria’s president.

“The Forum, in a state of forgetfulness, dipped in self-delusion, forgot that it never supported the APC nor its presidential candidate. It both in private and public gave its support to the opposition PDP candidate. Worse, it has in a bid to assert its prominence claimed to speak for the North. The North, comprising 19 States, has never appointed anyone to speak for it.

“Any gang of old and middle-aged men can gather together and call themselves a Forum of Elders, but that does not in any way make them a Forum for over 140 million people. No one ever appointed the Northern Elders Forum as a middleman to interface between the region and the government of the day,” the coalition added.

The northern group however charged leaders from the region to show appreciation to the present administration by contributing to the development of the region and the country at large.

He said: “Like the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, stated in Sokoto State last week, President Bola Ahmed has indeed saddled some Northern individuals with important positions in his administration as a show of gratitude for the region’s contribution to his electoral victory. What the North now owes Mr. President is to ensure that these selected highly elevated Northern individuals continue to work towards the uplifting and development of the region and the country in general.

“We are here to say that the North, led by a majority of sound forward-thinking leaders like Bello Matawalle, stand by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We see his reforms. They are hard pills to swallow, but we know that in due course, there would be results in abundance. We reject the claims of Kabiru Marafa and his hypocritical friends at the Northern Elders Forum. We stand fully with the North and President Tinubu.”

  • Northern elders not fighting Tinubu, says Marafa

Northern elders not fighting Tinubu, says Marafa

All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima 2023 Presidential Campaign in Zamfara State, Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, has said northern elders have no problem with President Bola Tinubu.

He also countered the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, saying northern elders were neither a burden nor paperweights.

In a statement, title: Tinubu Presidency: Northern Elders’ Forum, a political burden to the North, they do not speak for the region, described the forum as “paperweights and a burden”.

But Marafa said in a statement in Abuja that rather than negatively portray the northern elders, Matawalle should have highlighted the achievements, programmes and policies, as well as the projects of President Tinubu in the North and other parts of the country in the first 10 months of the administration.

He said calling the elders of the region, which has and gave the highest number of votes to the Tinubu presidency, was counterproductive.

The APC chieftain said it was also a disservice to the President, who is addressing the numerous challenges, including terrorism, insurgency, economic and financial malfeasance and infrastructural decay.

Marafa said President Tinubu needs the support of his appointees, their loyalty and hard work to actualise his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda meant to return the country to the path of progress and prosperity, not sycophancy and unguarded statements.

The erstwhile Zamfara Central senator (2011 – 2019) urged Matawalle to withdraw the offensive statement and tender, without delay, an unreserved apology to the northern elders and all the people of the region.

“In the last one week, I have been inundated with calls from well-meaning and prominent stakeholders in our region and party, the APC, who know my relationship with the President.

“They are worried and disturbed that the unfortunate statement by the Minister of State for Defence, if not addressed, could affect the President’s electoral fortunes in our region because it will be seen as if the minister spoke the mind of the President or the Presidency. “

“The crux of the matter is that whether you like them or not, these people are called Northern Elders. So, unless they are stripped of that title by the people of the region, insulting them is tantamount to insulting the entire people of the region.

“It’s not in our culture and upbringing to insult elders. No decent society will refer to its elders as a burden and paperweights. The North is not an exception.

“As one of the senators who worked very closely with Asiwaju as party leader (as he was then called) from the formation of APC through the primaries that led to the emergence of  General Muhammadu Buhari as APC presidential candidate in Lagos, the politics of the National Assembly leadership in 2015 and 2019 and the processes and intrigues that characterised the 2023 presidential primaries, I can say without mincing words that President Tinubu holds the North, the northerners, and their leaders in high esteem.

“Although I’m not the mouthpiece of either the President or the Presidency, as a northerner and an elder in the region, as an APC stakeholder and one that has worked closely with both the President and the Vice President, I want to state categorically that this view expressed by Mr. Matawalle is his personal opinion and not in any way that of Mr. President or the Presidency, and should, therefore, be disregarded,” Marafa said.

  • Marafa: Tinubu’s willingness to work with Atiku and Obi depends on their post-litigation behaviour

Marafa: Tinubu’s willingness to work with Atiku and Obi depends on their post-litigation behaviour

The question of whether President Bola Tinubu will want to proceed with working with those who challenged his electoral victory will depend on the conduct of those involved in the days to come.

Senator Kabir Marafa, who represents Zamfara Central at the Senate, expressed this position over the weekend when speaking to journalists at the State House after a meeting with President Tinubu.

Senator Marafa, who said his reasons for visiting the president were personal, also challenged opposition leaders, like the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, to join hands with President Tinubu to move the nation forward.

According to Marafa, there is nothing left for the opposition figures to prove after their outing at the judiciary, especially after the verdict of the Supreme Court on Thursday, which affirmed Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 Presidential Election, besides the fact that at this juncture, Nigeria needs every hand on the deck.

Asked if he thought President Tinubu should form a Government of National Unity (GNU), Marafa said: “I am not Mr. President, but I like the way you put the question ‘do you think’? I know Mr. President is a politician and he knows the game very well. He is the one to decide to say ‘now should I go ahead to form a government of national unity like I wanted to or having seen the behaviour of the participants, I should abandon it’?

“Their behaviour from Thursday, I think, will determine what the President will do. If they take the judgement with open hearts and extend a hand of friendship to Mr. President, I know the President will want to work with everybody. Governance is something that you need all hands on deck to succeed, especially in a complex country like Nigeria.”

On how he should relate to those who challenged his electoral victory at the courts, he said: “My prayer and wish for them is to bury their differences and join hands with Mr. President to move the country forward, especially given the problems we have across the nation. So, we need all hands on deck now. It is over. They have done what they are supposed to have done. The constitution gives them inherent rights to challenge the victory. But with the verdict of the apex court, the battle is over.

“Like the president said, he is going to concentrate on his job without giving anybody any opportunity to distract him. So, on their part, I wish they would join hands with Mr. President to move the country forward.

“When I lost the election, I congratulated the person who defeated me. I also promised that the best thing that I can give the people of Zamfara Central is to cooperate with whoever they choose to be their Senator to move the zone forward. Because they elected me twice and I won convincingly in the two elections.

“So, if now somebody says I lost, I think I should accept the fact that in any game, there are winners and there are losers. Yesterday, I was the winner and today, I lost. I should accept it and move forward, tomorrow is another day.

“So, I expect also at the national level for our elders to do the same. They have exhausted their rights. So, it is over. Let us now move to building Nigeria. Let us now look at the plight of the masses. You know things are very difficult and hard, which is occasioned by the removal of subsidy, which is a must. I was the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Petroleum Downstream. So, I know what is happening in the area. Also, the rate of the dollar is adding to the difficulties in the country.

Speaking on his reasons for visiting the President, Marafa said: “The visit is personal, not official. So, I am not going to go in-depth into the discussion I had with my leader, my President and my father.

“First, I was in his office to congratulate him on assuming the office. As you all know I led his campaign in Zamfara State. I was the Coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Organization in Zamfara State. So, I am part of the success. But typical of my attitude, I don’t poke nose, I don’t become a liability.

“So, after the elections, I was in his house to congratulate him for winning, and to thank him most profoundly for singling me and some very few other people during his acceptance speech. The moment he was announced as the winner of the elections, I think my name and one other were the only Nigerians he singled out to thank for the efforts we put in making sure he won in Zamfara State.

“That was something I will never forget in my life. You do something and you are appreciated, you feel energised to do much more. So, since then, I haven’t linked up with him, and after swearing in, I felt I should give him time to settle in the office and to do the work that he has been elected by Nigerians to do.”

  • Zamfara: Appeal Court has vindicated us, says Marafa

Chairman of the Senate Committee on Petroleum, Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa (APC, Zamfara) has hailed the judgement of the Appeal Court, Sokoto division, which set aside the ruling of the Zamfara State High Court on the All Progressives Congress (APC), primaries tussle in the state.

The Appellate court on Monday set aside the ruling by Justice Bello Shinkafi of the Zamfara State High Court on the APC Governorship, National and State Assembly primaries.

In his reaction to the judgement, Marafa, a leading governorship aspirant in the state, said it has shown that “truth will always prevail over falsehood.”

He said: “I have always believed that the Zamfara State High Court ruling was nothing but a black market judgement that can never stand legal scrutiny.

“The Appeal Court judgement has rekindled the fact that the judiciary is the last hope of the common man.

“We are all living witnesses to the fact that the APC in Zamfara was unable to conduct primaries and couldn’t reach consensus due to the attitude of Yari, but the Zamfara state High Court judge ruled against the truth.

“The Appeal Court has today done justice by throwing the judgment of the Zamfara High Court to the trash bin, where it rightly belongs.”

The ranking Senator, while commending the millions of his supporters for their support, cooperation and patience, urged them to discountenance the release from the Zamfara Government House, claiming that today’s judgement has no effect on their election.

“The statement by the Zamfara Government House on the Appeal Court judgement is the last kick of dying pigs, not even horses.

“You can’t build on nothing, APC didn’t conduct primaries, they don’t therefore have candidates in the just concluded elections,” he said.

  • Zamfara: Marafa worried over delay in setting up appeal panel

Chairman of the Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream) has written the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Adamu Bulkachuwa, over the delay in setting up of the appeal panel to entertain the Zamfara All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries tussle.

Marafa who wrote through his counsel, in a letter dated 13th March, 2019 addressed to Justice Bulkachuwa, said the delay in the constitution of the panel is likely going to deny him justice.

The case number CA/32/2019/ Sen Kabiru Garba Marafa &142 others, was part of the pre-election litigations that trailed the failure of the APC to conduct primaries/ consensus in Zamfara state.

The letter reads: “My lord, refer to our letter of concern (copy attached hereto) in which we had respectfully requested that the present panel hearing the above appeal recuses itself for the reasons already humbly adumbrated in the said attached letter dated 4th March 2019.

“The appeal came up on the 13th March, 2019 before the Sokoto Division of the court of Appeal. My Lord to our surprise, the court did not sit but merely sent the court Registrar to inform all counsels and parties concerned that it has recused itself from hearing the appeal; but without any word as to the constitution of another panel to hear the appeal or as to what date the matter will now come up for hearing before a new panel.

“This letter is therefore a SOS to your lordship to kindly and urgently constitute a new panel to hear our client’s appeal. The urgency of this letter and your timeous action are underlined by the very fact that this appeal is constitutionally time-lined and same will expire on the 27th March 2019 constitutional effluxion of time. Where that happens, the appeal itself would lapse and die prematurely due to no fault of the Appellants.

“We therefore respectfully appeal to your Lordship to kindly and urgently constitute a new panel to hear our appeal immediately. We look forward to your kind and timeous action, Sir.”

Marafa further said: “There is a grand conspiracy by the Zamfara state Government with the active support of some former Governors and some Abuja politicians to frustrate the case, so that the 60 days for pre-election mater will elapse. What that means is the case will die a “natural” death and the aggrieved party will not have the chance of going to the Supreme Court for redress.

“APC constitution vested the powers to conduct primary Elections on its NWC, but the whole world witnessed Gov Yari live on Channels Television with the chairman of his faction, who is now a “member elect” for Kaura Namoda constituency in the State House of Assembly, announcing result of a so-called primaries conducted by the state chapter of the APC (Yari Faction) in the premises of their factional headquarters. This is clearly against our constitution and the party’s constitution.”

Marafa asked the acting Chief Justice of the Federation and the secretary of the National Judicial Council (NJC), to as a matter of all urgency intervene and ensure the panel is constituted and the matter given accelerated hearing.

He said, “Looking at the whole issue and the plight of the people of Zamfara state, the matter should be allowed to get to its logical conclusion, in the interest of justice and fair hearing.

  • Marafa accepts Appeal Court’s decision

The leader of one of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, Senator Kabiru Marafa, yesterday accepted  Thursday’s verdict  of the Court of Appeal that paved the way for the party to contest all elections in the state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday said it had decided to relist the party’s candidates in the state for elections on account of the court’s ruling.

“This is what Allah has decided and destined. We have accepted it,” Marafa said in a statement.

He added: “We tried our best but Allah knows the wisdom behind this. I have said it, that whatever comes out from the court, we will open our hands and accept it as Allah’s will. What we are fighting is injustice and nothing personal.

“I’m appealing to my teeming supporters to be law abiding and shun anything that would cause confusion or breach public peace.

“Please come out massively to vote for President Buhari. And for other elections, vote for the candidates that will protect you and your properties in senatorial and House of Representatives elections. Vote according to your conscience.

“We have already filed an appeal at the Sokoto division of the appeal court. It will come up soon. We will pursue it to its logical conclusion.

“I sincerely thank all the good people within and outside the state that supported us in standing up to the tyrannical tendencies of Gov Yari and his backers.”
