Big Brother Naija reality star Mercy Eke has graduated with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Sunderland, UK.

Eke, the winner of the Pepper Dem season, announced her achievement on social media, sharing a clip from her graduation ceremony.

In an Instagram post, Eke expressed gratitude to those who supported her through the challenging moments, stating, “Against popular opinion, another degree secured. Grateful to everyone who pushed me through the tough moments.”

Eke had previously announced her decision to pursue her MBA, stating she was done with the reality show scene and focused on chasing her dreams.

Her friends and family celebrated the achievement, sharing congratulatory messages on social media.

Winner of Big Brother Naija Season 4, Mercy Eke has attributed her continued relevance in the entertainment industry to her strong work ethic and clear goals.

Eke, in an interview with Odira Ndubuaku, emphasised that she has consistently put in the effort, never turning down opportunities and prioritising her business.

She stated that her ability to stay focused and driven has been key to her success, waking up with purpose and having a clear picture of what to do every day.

“I am still relevant because I put in the work, I have never turned down any money.

“Also, I mind my business a lot. I work hard. I wake up with purpose. Some people wake up, they don’t have things to do. But I always have a clear picture of what to do every day”, she said.

Mercy Eke won Big Brother Naija in 2019, specifically the Season 4 edition, tagged “Pepper Dem,” making her the first female winner in the show’s history.

She emerged victorious on October 6, 2019, after 99 days in the house, beating out Mike Edwards for the grand prize.

Winner of Big Brother Naija Season 4, Mercy Eke has expressed her views on having children, stating she wouldn’t mind if it happened outside marriage.

In a podcast interview, Eke said she would keep the baby and not be affected by societal stigma.

Speaking on her plans, Eke revealed she desires three children, preferably two girls and one boy, and isn’t so keen on marriage.

“I won’t go the extra miles to get pregnant out of wedlock. But if it just happens, I would leave it and I would have my baby. I want three kids; two girls and one boy or three girls. I love female children.

“Even if don’t get married, I would still have kids. What most people don’t know is that the stigma of being a single mother only applies to women who don’t have things going well for them”, she said.

According to her, single mothers who are successful aren’t judged harshly, saying, “The women [single mothers] that are shattering glasses, men are begging them for marriage.”

Eke expressed confidence in her own life, stating, “I can get married tomorrow if I want to. But what I want in a man, I have not seen it. It’s not like there is no suitor. There are plenty… So, even if I have a baby, I would still see a man”.

Reality TV star Mercy Eke has said her Big Brother Naija Season 4 victory represented a major triumph for young women everywhere.

In a recent interview with BellaNaija, Mercy explained that her win not only boosted her confidence but also inspired many women within and outside the reality TV space.

“I came into the show prepared. I was ready. And when I won the show, I did it for all the young women who have been told that they can’t. I did it for all of us,” she said.

Mercy, who became the first female winner of the BBNaija series in 2019, paved the way for other women such as Phyna (2022), Ilebaye (2023), and the recently crowned Imisi (2025).

She credited her confidence and preparation as key factors behind her historic victory.

Reality TV star Mercy Eke has extended an opportunity to talented Nigerian fashion designers to collaborate with her.

The fashionista, on Instagram, said she is looking to showcase local designs on her platform, providing a boost to the country’s fashion industry.

Eke said designers interested in partnering with her can submit their work to the provided email address on her page.

According to her, the move is expected to promote Nigerian talent and contribute to the growth of the fashion sector.

Reality TV star Mercy Eke has announced her decision to further her education by pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).

She shared the news on Instagram, posting photos and videos of herself in class and revealing that she began her MBA journey last year.

Expressing her enthusiasm, Eke wrote: “Chasing my dreams, done playing, back to reality. Started my MBA last year, and I’m super excited for this journey. Here’s to new experiences, learning, and leveling up.”

Her decision to pursue higher education comes shortly after she acquired a new Lamborghini and continues her transition from reality TV to acting.

She has featured in film projects including “Fate of Alakada” and “Shanty Town.”

Although Eke did not disclose the name of the university she is attending, her Instagram post suggest that she is studying in the United Kingdom.

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Jeff has revealed that he is the one who gave his colleague Mercy Eke the nickname ‘Lambo’, short for Lamborghini Mercy.

During a recent episode of the ‘Deks & Friends’ podcast, Jeff shared that Mercy was his favorite housemate during the ‘Pepper Dem’ edition. 

He praised Mercy’s kind heart, saying she’s often misunderstood due to her bold exterior.

Jeff said: “My favourite housemate is Mercy, I gave her the name Lamborghini Mercy. Mercy is the embodiment of judging a book by its cover. People look at her as a bad b*tch but her heart is the exact opposite. She has a good heart.”
