Mercy Eke apologises to Onyeka over unauthorised social media post

Reality TV star, Mercy Eke, has apologised to ‘No Loose Guard’ housemate, Onyeka, for provocative posts made from her account.

She clarified that a handler’s actions did not reflect her views.

The controversy arose after the handler engaged in drama related to the show, specifically the clash between returning agents and current housemates.

On her birthday, Mercy expressed frustration, stating she had left Big Brother Naija behind and was disappointed by the handler’s unprofessional behaviour.

She apologised to Onyeka’s supporters, calling the posts “embarrassing” and emphasising they did not represent her feelings.

She tweeted: “Can’t believe I’m waking up to this on my birthday. A handler that was supposed to post my birthday contents and reply birthday wishes was involving herself in BBN drama and now I have to deal with this mess??? I have left everything BBN behind for Christ sake! And seeing such silly opinion especially about one of the housemates I like!

“The only reason I’m not tagging this person’s main page is to not get her bullied by fans, because this is highly unprofessional.

“I apologise to Team Onyeka, because this is so embarrassing coming from my account, it definitely does not represent me or how I feel”.

“I didn’t tell him to pay my staff’s salaries. He’s doing it on his own to reduce my responsibilities. Because of that, I always want to do things for him too.”

Peer pressure led me to opt for BBL – Mercy Eke

Reality TV star Mercy Eke has explained the reasons behind her decision to undergo cosmetic procedures, including a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).

In a recent interview on the ‘Love is a Game’ show, Eke admitted that peer pressure and prevailing trends in 2018 influenced her choice to pursue the procedure.

She said: “To be very truthful, it was the trend at the time. I think this was around 2018 and it was the trend, peer pressure and everyone was doing it. I had a very good form and it wasn’t bad, the stomach was too much.

“I was really scared when I wanted to do it; I didn’t tell my mum because I didn’t want anyone to discourage me. So it was me and two of my other friends, we planned it, paid, and did it together.”

Despite her initial reservations and a grueling recovery process, she asserted that the results were worth it.

Eke described the post-BBL experience as uncomfortable, stressing the need to lay on her stomach for 14 days to avoid pressure on her bum and the painful massages to reduce swelling.

“Getting your body massaged after the surgery is the painful part, also not being able to sleep on your bum for 14 days thereabout so you have to lay with your stomach. Also, when the nurses try to massage you to bring the water out”, she said.

Eke also set the record straight about her facial features, debunking claims of surgical enhancements.

“It was worth it. People keep saying that I touched my face so I keep posting throwbacks for them to see. I have only touched my lips, I had fillers done, it dissolves after 3 months and I feel like people need to be more educated.

“I had liposuction done and my bum is the softest you would even touch, it’s just fat so it feels like water,” she concluded.

The Nation reported that 22-year-old Ilebaye won the ‘All-Stars’ edition in 2023 while Mercy finished as the runner-up.

In a recent episode of Celebrity Quickies posted on comedian AY’s YouTube page, Mercy Eke said she didn’t win the show for the second round because people “were allergic to winners.”

According to her, many people referenced her previous win and what she had acquired.

She said: “The first time I went into the Big Brother House, it was all cute, lovely people. I played the game and I won the show. And I thought it was all cute, then I went back for the second time, and I found out that people were allergic to winners.

“They were like, ‘She had that, she can’t have it again. She has this, she can’t have it again.’ That’s why I did not win for the second time because they are allergic to winners. They were like, ‘She is already rich, give others a chance.’

“This second experience, I loved it. I will not even take anything away from it because it made me see people for who they truly are. It can only be God’s doing because, without this second experience, I would not know a lot of things. I didn’t know that it was a crime to want to win again. But anyways, I am still a winner.”
