    MEDIA mogul, Mo Abudu, has revealed that she has learnt to literally be obsessed with achieving her goals.

    With the record her films have made in the cinemas since she ventured into filmmaking, Mo noted that consistency and persistency is the key to being successful.

    “Anyone who wants to achieve any level of success must be ready and armed with these two key traits,” she said.

    “Finding your purpose is very difficult but the moment you do, hold on to it and live it.

    “More importantly, be authentic as nobody can do what you want to do better than you can. You also have to be undaunted, gutsy, focused and undistracted from your goals.  I have learnt over the years to literally be obsessed with achieving my goals. It’s the only way guys!

  • Mo Abudu on Rolex Awards jury

    MEDIA mogul Mo Abudu, will join a jury for the 2019 Rolex Awards billed to hold in June, at Washington DC, US.

    Mo disclosed on her Instagram account that she was invited to join the jury in February

    “Hello beautiful people. Earlier this year in February, I was invited to join the Jury of the #RolexAwards. I had the privilege of meeting and spending a few days in London with executives from Rolex, my co jury members and we had the opportunity to evaluate the most incredible and diverse set of projects that were presented to us.”

    “As a 2019 #RolexAwards jury member we had a challenging time selecting the 10 finalists. Help us by voting for your favourites on rolex.org/rolexawards. We are off to Washington DC in June to judge the finals.”

    She also shared that her secret to success God.

    “My number one key to success is what I call the G Factor! Just in case you are wondering, it’s the God Factor. I know that I owe him everything. Have a beautiful day.”

  • Mo Abudu encourages women to have CoolSculpting

    Media Entrepreneur Mo Abudu has encouraged women to go for CoolSculpting instead of the regular exercises, which she says has not worked for her.

    Mo, who recently visited the Aspire Clinic, said a friend recommended the hospital during her last trip to London.

    She said: “It was lovely spending part of my day at @aspireclinicberks recently with Jenny, Christina and the rest of the team. One major topic we all love to talk about as women is weight loss and diet.

    “Well sharing is caring. A friend of mine during my last trip to London recommended the @aspireclinicberks for CoolSculpting. I had a crazy work schedule, but fitted it in! Yep all, I tried Coolsculpting on my tummy. It seemed no matter how many sit ups I did, my tummy area had a mind of its own. Cool sculpting is painless and non-evasive!     Omotola Ekehinde, who replied to the post, added that it is the new procedure of losing tummy fat. “Yep. It’s the new non evasive rave,” she said.

After the procedure, it may take around 4-6 months for the fat cells to leave the body. In that time, the area of fat will decrease by an average of 20 percent.

  • Mo Abudu is first African to win Medaille D’honneur award

    Nigerian TV Producer, and Media Entrepreneur, Mo Abudu, has made Nigeria proud as the first African to win the Medaille D’honneur award at the at Marché International des Programmes de Télévision (MIPTV).

    MIPTV, which takes place annually in Cannes, France is one of the most important trade shows for TV and media. This year’s edition runs from Monday, April 8 to Thursday, April 11, 2019.

    Mo, as she is fondly called, shared images of her receiving the award via Instagram.

    Captioning one of the picture in which she was with three other people, Mo, who has produced movies such as Fifty, Wedding Party 1&2, and others, wrote: “Most important of all, I had to Give God all the glory. Only HE makes all these incredible things possible in my life. Sharing the stage with 3 other incredible people honoured with this award tonight – US writer, showrunner and producer, Ilene Chaiken, chairperson of the Banijay Group in France, Stéphane Courbit, and UK managing director of Sky Vision, Jane Millichip.

    “Camille Bidermann, Executive Director of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, presented me with my award last night. Thank you so much Camille for your words of inspiration. Much love.

    “A major part of my acceptance speech was dedicated to the creative business leaders in the room and the need for a partnership between our respective continents, so that our stories can be told with authenticity and produced to the best international standards.     The MIPTV Médailles d’Honneur are awarded to those who have made a significant contribution to the world of television and the development of the international TV community through their talent and leadership.

    Mo, one of Africa’s top producers and multiple award winner, launched EbonyLife TV in 2013 and has since then produced over 1,000 hours of original programming each year.

  • Mo Abudu bags MIPTV Médailles d’Honneur in Cannes

    Media mogul, Mo Abudu has become the first African to be honoured with the MIPTVMédailles d’Honneur.

    News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Ebony Life boss was awarded in Cannes, France, at the InterContinental Carlton Hotel on Monday.

    The prestigious MIPTV Médailles d’Honneur are awarded to senior executives who have, through their talent, leadership and passion, made a significant contribution to the world of television and the development of the international TV community.

    Abudu received the award alongside Ilene Chaiken, Writer, Showrunner and Producer (USA); Stéphane Courbit, Chairman, Banijay Group (France); and Jane Millichip, Managing Director, Sky Vision (United Kingdom).

    She took to her Instagram page on Tuesday to excitedly share the news. She wrote, @moabudu, “Basking in the glory of receiving my award. I share this award with the EbonyLife Team.

    “I thank all our partners, sponsors, my family, my dearest mother, my darling Temidee and Koko and of course my bestos that have helped and supported us on our journey. Much love always.

    Abudu has been described by Forbes as “Africa’s Most Successful Woman”. She launched Nigerian broadcaster and producer EbonyLife TV in 2013, producing over 1,000 hours of original programming each year.

    She went into filmmaking with the creation of EbonyLife Films. She is the Executive Producer of ‘Fifty’, ‘The Wedding Party’ (2016), the most successful Nollywood film ever at the Nigerian box office.

    She also produced ‘The Wedding Party 2: Destination Dubai’ (2017), the highest grossing Nollywood film of all time; and ‘Chief Daddy’ (2018), the third-highest grossing Nigerian film.

    In March 2018, Sony Pictures Television (SPT) announced a three project deal with EbonyLifeTV, the first of its kind between SPT and a Nigerian television company.

  • Mo Abudu excited over daughter’s wedding

    Still soaking up the commercial success of her latest movie, ‘Chief Daddy’, media mogul and movie producer Mo Abudu, had another reason to celebrate last weekend.

    The occasion was the introduction of her daughter to her beau, Adebola Makanjuola, which held in the Abudu family house in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

    Sharing several pictures and videos on Instagram, the elated mother was full of good words for all those who made the day possible.

    “For my baby Temidee’s introduction to her sweetheart Adebola, she wanted a nice cosy intimate event for family and close friends and she wanted it at home,” she wrote on Instagram.

    “Temidee’s introduction was held at the Abudu family home in Abeokuta. A big thank you to @Stylista_ng for this very traditional and earthy look that Temidayo wanted and was captured so well by Stylista. And of course the biggest hugs and kisses to my darling @Iamfvo – @NoSurprisesevents for planning such a lovely event for us. Seun thank you so much for all the trips and hard work you put in. A big thank you to all our partners for making this event a truly glorious one. #AwesomeGod #Love #Joy #HappyDay #TeddieMak.”

    The introduction which was attended by a close knit network of family and friends nevertheless had all the trappings of a celebrity gathering.

  • MO Abudu brings alive ‘Chief Daddy’

    CEO of EbonyLife TV, Mo Abudu, has continued to redefine movie production in Nigeria with the release of her latest effort, Chief Daddy.

    As released by the producer, the movie made a whopping sum of N115.7million on ticket sales in the first ten days of release. The movie came after Wedding Party .

    The movie directed by Niyi Akinmolayan, opened in cinemas on December 14th, and reportedly  maintained the number one position for local movies in the box office chart in Nigeria and West Africa.

    The hilarious movie which featured A-list cast such as Kate Henshaw, Funke Akindele, Patience Ozokwor, Nkem Owoh, Rachael Oniga, Ini Edo, Linda Ejiofor, Shaffy Bello, Bisola Aiyeola, Zainab Balogun, Lepacious Bose, DakoreEgbuson, Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana, MawuliGavor, Kate Henshaw, Ayo Lijadu, MI, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Beverly Naya, Nedu,  UtiNwachukwu, TaiwoObileye, Chioma ‘chigurl’ Omeruah, Rachel Oniga, Beverly Osu, NkemOwoh, and Joke Silva.

    ‘Chief Daddy’ tells the story of billionaire industrialist Chief Beecroft, a flamboyant benefactor to a large extended family of relatives, household staff and assorted mistresses.

  • Mo Abudu elected Director of International Academy of Television Arts

    The CEO of EbonyLife TV, Mo Abudu, has been appointed as one of the Directors of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences; the organization responsible for staging the world famous International Emmy Awards.

    The development follows the continued progress made by Abudu and EbonyLife Media to seek global recognition for Nigerian TV and film productions. As a member of the board, she joins a select group of about 100 Directors who are international executives from leading channels, production and distribution companies.

    Mo is expected to attend board & members meetings three or four times a year, giving her the opportunity to network.  “I’ve always wanted to be a member of the International Academy, to help make African voices heard when it comes to nominating and rewarding the world’s best television shows. To be approved as a director is even better, because we need a seat at the table when important decisions about our industry are being made. I’m grateful to the Academy for their confidence in me,” she expressed.

    The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences brings together the world’s leading media and entertainment professionals, with over 700 members from more than 60 countries.   • Mo Abudu, Banky W, others attend ‘Up North’ premiere

    Inkblot Productions and Anakle Films held the premiere of Tope Oshin’s, ‘Up North’, recently at the IMAX Cinema, Lekki.

    The premiere which was tagged “The Grand Durbar” and the dress code themed “Show me your North” was attended by celebrities such as Mo Abudu, Ebuka Obi Uchendu, Noble Igwe, Lala Akindoju, Lota Chukwu, Ihuoma Linda Ejiofor, Jemima Osunde, Adeolu Adefarasin, Damilola Adegbite, Frank Donga, Ufuoma McDermott, Chioma Akpotha, Sharon Ooja, Mai Atafo, Meg Otanwa, Antolecky, Bisola Aiyeola and many others.

    Present at the premiere also  were cast members such as Banky W, Ibrahim Suleiman, Michelle Dede, Kanayo.O. Kanayo, Rekiya Attah,Rahama Sadau and many more. The premiere also saw important personalities and dignitaries such as  The Governor and Emir of Bauchi.

    Directed by Tope Oshin and written by Naz Onuzo and Bunmi Ajakaiye from an original story by Editi Effiong, the movie tells the story of love, family conflict, female empowerment as well as the rich northern culture and tourism. ‘Up North’ opens at  all cinemas from December 28, 2018.

  • Chief Daddy premieres Sunday in Lagos

    Following the wild success of its previous movies, FiftyThe Wedding Party and its sequel The Wedding Party 2, EbonyLife Films will be holding a grand premiere for its latest movie, Chief Daddy. The long-awaited premiere will take place this Sunday, December 2nd, at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos.

    Already garnering major buzz on the internet, the premiere is expected to be the most talked-about movie event of the year. It boasts a long guest list of dignitaries, business heavyweights, socialites and celebrities, and is already sold out. Particularly contributing to its grandeur, is the dress code and theme of the premiere, ‘Opulently Nigerian – Be Extra’, which celebrates the richness and extravagance of Nigerian fashion culture.

    In contrast to the premiere of The Wedding Party 2, which was inspired by the movie’s glamorous locations in Dubai, the Chief Daddy premiere will portray all things Nigerian; from the décor to the food, the variety of activities and entertainment will fully embrace the country’s various cultures.

    Looking forward to the event, executive producer Mo Abudu said, “We are delighted to finally premiere this film. It’s been a long time coming and we can’t wait for our guests to experience this fun-packed movie. This premiere will be Nigerian-centric, showcasing and appreciating the sophistication and glamour embedded within our culture. We want to create a unique experience.”

    At the event, which is sponsored by Keystone Bank, Dubai Tourism, Airtel, Johnnie Walker, Bollinger and Luminous, guests will be serenaded with music from Shuga Band and a special live performance from the breakout star of the movie, Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana. Following the reception, an after-party will be held at the same venue, where guests can unwind to music from DJ Crowd Controller.

    Chief Daddy will be out in cinemas from December 14th and fans can also look forward to the official music video for the movie’s theme song, ’The Famzy Anthem (Moving Mad)’, which will debut on the same day.
