Corruption: Every public official is under investigation – Magu

Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu has said that every government official is under investigation without  them knowing about it.

Magu who spoke in Kaduna on Tuesday said the bane of the fight against corruption in the recent past was lack of political will.

With the political will demonstrated by President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Magu said Nigeria will soon win the battle against corruption.

Magu said that President Muhammadu Buhari gave the Commission additional mandate to investigate every Nigerian in government, irrespective of party affiliation in order to win the war against corruption.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the National Union of Textiles and Garment Tailoring Workers of Nigeria (NUTGTWN) in Kaduna, Magu dispelled the insinuation in some quarters that EFCC operations was one sided in the fight against corruption, saying, this was not true.

He said, “We have cause to investigate and in fact we are investigating even those that are in government without them knowing.

“’Not only that, the president has given me the mandate to investigate every corrupt Nigerian leader irrespective of his political affiliation.

He said, the present administration under the watch of President Buhari has the political will to fight corruption, noting, even the Vice President Osibanjo and many other prominent people in government have the passion to fight corruption.

“I don’t think we have the monopoly of knowledge to tackle corruption. But more than that, the fight against corruption is designed and structured to boost confidence in the economy as well as to attract investors both within and outside the country”, he added.

Earlier, the General Secretary of the Textiles Workers Union, Comrade Issa Aremu canvassed for a national strategic to fight corruption, pointing out, that the fight should not be left to EFCC, ICPC, police alone.

Comrade Aremu also blamed the inability of most State governments to pay salaries to corruption, adding that monies allegedly stolen by public officials cannot be made available for payment of salaries.

While praising Buhari administration for the unprecedented “mainstreaming of the battle against corruption”, Comrade Aremu said there was an urgent need for a national strategy against the curse of graft which he said is already killing the old-term culture of industry, enterprise and labour productivity in the country.

He therefore called on President Buhari to revisit 2014 National Conference Report and implement some measures therein that would deepen the government war against corruption.

  • Thoughts on Muhammadu Buhari’s three rooms

Thoughts on Muhammadu Buhari’s three rooms

In our environment, the comments made by Aisha Buhari, wife of the president, about how those who worked to install her husband in power had been supplanted by new faces  from nowhere, rank any day as a bombshell.

This is more so when taken in the context of claims by Senate President Bukola Saraki that a ‘government within a government’ had seized power from Muhammadu Buhari.

Again, her comments were especially weighty coming shortly after the very public disagreement between All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and party chairman, John Odigie Oyegun, over the management of the Ondo State governorship primaries.

The row was grist to the rumour mongers’ mill – especially those who have been hoping and praying for a falling out between Tinubu and Buhari. For them, it was confirmation of unending social media tales of how the former Lagos State governor had been shortchanged and how a new ‘mafia’ had emerged to clip his wings.

But as explosive as her observations were, the damage was largely controlled for as long as the president and other powerful figures to whom Mrs. Buhari had made oblique reference, kept their counsel.

Her comments only reinforced everything that had been spun by the conspiracy theorists without throwing up much that was new. For instance, her observation that many of those who worked for APC’s victory felt unappreciated was by no means new.

It is an issue that had come up in the past and which one of the president’s spokesmen had addressed by saying Buhari still had thousands of appointments to make. So, in a sense, what she was saying wasn’t novel.

But just when her controversial remarks were being swept away by the cascade of daily developments in this social media age, the president goes and rearms them with his own comments. If Aisha Buhari’s words exploded on the BBC like an IED, the president reply was almost nuclear in dimension.

Was the president’s missus right in going public with a political position that put her husband in bad light? Would she not have been more effective deploying feminine wiles and skills in ‘the other room’ to bring the president to her way of thinking? If you were in her shoes would you have gone public?

I have spoken to many men and women who feel that Aisha was wrong in going public. Many cannot see how her action helps either her cause or the president’s. If anything, they feel it only brought the First Family scorn and embarrassment.

But that is assuming we have all the information about this discussion between the couple. We would also be claiming to understand the basic motivation that drove her to speak out.

Is it not possible that madam’s interview was an act of frustration after seeing her ‘Other Room’ lobbying rebuffed by the old soldier? Could it be that she felt the only way to get across to a stubborn general was to fire a shot across the bow – so to speak.

We can speculate all we want, but the fact is for as long as Buhari refused to be drawn publicly, his wife’s comments were gradually losing their potency. But the moment he uttered those words in Germany, the little cloud mushroomed.

Let’s assume that Aisha was wrong to have gone public with words that suggested that the First Couple were at political odds. But by making his denigrating statements Buhari only aggravated things.

I have heard people defending the president, arguing that he did nothing wrong as an African who was only stating the facts. We forget, however, that the president is no longer an ordinary husband. He may have married his wife eons ago in his own cultural setting, with his own sense of a woman’s place in the home, but he’s no longer an anonymous retired general.

Today, he is the president of the largest black nation on earth with women making up half the population. His actions and utterances are scrutinised at home, and they are even more so when he shares the stage with world leaders.

The world and the way women are treated has changed radically. We would be deceiving ourselves when we conveniently rustle up our ‘African-ness’ to explain utterances that are inexcusable no matter what has provoked them.

It is amusing to hear many invoking African and religious traditions to defend the president, because these same persons are spending fortunes training their female children in the most expensive universities locally and overseas? Surely, all that investment isn’t just for these daughters to fulfil their destiny in the ‘Other Room.’

I have also heard people say that Buhari was just being himself: a general who is trained to shoot straight. My reply is that history is replete with generals who had similar military training but ended up becoming some of the most accomplished diplomats the world has ever known. And that’s quite an achievement given that diplomats are noted more for wrapping the truth in cotton wool, than releasing verbal grenades.

So could the president have handled this differently while disagreeing with his wife’s position? Absolutely! She made comments about politics, but he broadened his response to include his worldview on the place of women in the home. It was too much information and it was all so unnecessary. Worse still, it wasn’t even a badly executed joke as we were initially made to believe. It was his firm position!

“My wife belongs in the kitchen,” Buhari said in part. There was a time many decades ago when ‘a woman’s place is in the kitchen’ was considered an apt saying. But not anymore. The world has moved on. That is why the federal cabinet over which our president presides has so many women.

“My wife belongs in the living room,” the president added. Is that saying that the woman is just another acquisition or decoration for the living room? Again, the evidence of the age disputes that position. US Republican Party presidential candidate Donald Trump is in trouble today largely for objectifying women. Our own president should be setting a better example.

Some people may want to run back to religion for refuge at this point, but history wouldn’t help them. Israel, India and Pakistan are all lands steeped in religious tradition and have strong patriarchal cultures, still out of them rose strong women leaders like Golda Meir, Indira Gandhi and Benazir Bhutto.

Finally, Buhari’s now famous words position his wife in ‘the Other Room.’ Any one going into marriage understands the conjugal responsibility that comes with the institution; it doesn’t require restating. But by playing up this ‘other room’ aspect we inadvertently align ourselves with those who see women as nothing more than sex objects.

I cannot imagine anyone who has female children of whom he or she expects great things, being comfortable with the president’s comments, or joining in the bar room jokes they have generated.

Buhari as president is not just a political leader, he’s also the father of the nation who should be setting an example for all citizens irrespective of their gender.

In Germany, while responding to his wife’s provocative comments, he could have said something like this: “I respect my wife’s right to an opinion but I am yet to see any evidence of her claims.”

It would have been short, sharp and disarmed what has turned out to be thoroughly bad press for Buhari, the First Couple and Nigeria.

More Chibok girls will be freed – Buhari

    • Says negotiation continues

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday expressed optimism that more of the kidnapped Chibok girls will be released  after 21 of them were freed by Boko Haram on Thursday.

Buhari spoke at a joint press conference with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin, Germany.

Buhari, in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said that the negotiations with the insurgents will continue until all the girls secure their freedom.

He said: “On the Chibok girls, we have been able to secure the release of 21 of them, so over 100 more are still in the hands of the terrorists somewhere in the Lake Chad Basin area which include Cameroon, Niger and Nigeria.

“In getting this 21 out, we hope we will get enough intelligence to go about securing the rest of them.

“We are very grateful to the UN for their participation in trying to secure the release of these girls.

“Please don’t forget that as a result of terrorism in Nigeria, no fewer than 37,000 Nigerians were killed by Boko Haram.

“Right now we have about two million people in IDP camps, 60 per cent of them are women and children and 60 per cent of those children are orphaned.

“This is a major challenge for government; we have to provide face infrastructure especially for education and health, take them back to their villages and towns and reintegrate them so that they can have normal life,’’ he said.

He thanked the German government for their humanitarian assistance and support for Nigeria in dealing with the effects of terrorism.

Responding to a question on the BBC interview with his wife, Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, the President said his wife and the opposition needed to appreciate the depth of the problems he met on the ground.

He caused laughter at the press conference when he jokingly said: “I claim superior knowledge compared to her and the opposition,’’ referring to his three attempts at the polls to become President of Nigeria over a 12-year period, succeeding in the fourth attempt.

  • Osun at 25th: Govt denies proposing N140 million for celebration

The Osun State government has debunked the rumur that it has earmarked N140 million to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its creation coming up on Saturday.

At a press conference in Osogbo, the state capital, yesterday evening the former Commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties who is a member of the committee for the anniversary, Hon Ajibola Basiru, described the allegation as “a blatant lie.”An Osun state based group, Civil Societies Coalition for Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEOS) recently alleged that the state government has set aside N140 million for the state 25th anniversary.

Basiru, who advised the people to disregard the statement credited to CSCEOS, said the allegation does not come from a credible source.

He also urged the public to see the rumour as “mere politics.”

Earlier, the Chairman, Organizing Committee, Dr. Charles Akinola, had stated that this year celebration would focus on the youths.

According to him, the display of calisthenics by students would be the main activity of the programme with commissioning of some completed projects by the state government.

He said the president, Muhammadu Buhari, who was expected to witness the calisthenics display and commission the projects would be unavoidably absent due to some important assignment.

However, he assured that the president would visit the state on September 1st where he would be led to commission the projects.

He maintained that the display of calisthenics goes beyond entertainment.

He said the display was to inculcate the spirit of group work and make the students happy being the main focus of the celebration.

He challenged the opposition to come up with substantial alternative to Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s policies instead of engaging in criticism.

  • Nigeria will strengthen partnership with Islamic Bank, says Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday said the Federal Government will deepen its partnership with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) to fund critical projects in health, water and the infrastructure sector.

He made the remark while receiving, Dr. Ali Madani, the President of the IDB Group at the State House, Abuja.

In a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, President Buhari also commended the bank for supporting several developmental projects across the country.

He acknowledged that the bank has funded several people-oriented projects in Osun, Kaduna, Jigawa, Niger, Katsina, Kano and Ebonyi states, demonstrating its “soft spot and robust support’’ for Nigeria.

‘‘We can’t thank you enough for the height you have achieved for the bank in 41 years. Now that you are about to retire, we thank you for the quality leadership which the world has recognized,’’ the President said.

Buhari also expressed appreciation to the IDB Group and other countries for extending their assistance to Internally Displaced Persons in the North-East.

The President assured the visiting IDB chief that Nigeria, a major financier of the bank, will meet all its obligations to the development institution within the shortest time possible.

The President highlighted efforts of the current administration at diversifying the economy with emphasis on agriculture and  expressed strong optimism that Nigeria will achieve self-sufficiency in rice and sugar; and export both commodities in the next three years.

In his remarks, Dr Madani congratulated President Buhari on the positive outcomes of the war against corruption and terrorism.

He said the bank is ready to mobilize resources from Arab fund for developmental initiatives of the Nigerian government and the private sector, particularly on agriculture.

  • Presidency challenges Saraki to name cabal in Buhari’s government

Presidency challenges Saraki to name cabal in Buhari’s government

The Presidency on Monday challenged the Senate President, Bukola Saraki to name the cabals in President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

Saraki had claimed that there is “now a government within the government of President Buhari”, which has allegedly seized the apparatus of Executive powers to pursue a nefarious agenda.

But a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said that the claim by Senator Saraki would have been more worth the while if it had been backed with more information.

It reads: “If he had proceeded to identify those who constitute the “government within the government,” it would have taken the issue beyond the realm of fiction and mere conjecture.

“But as it stands, the allegation is not even worth the paper on which it was written, as anybody can wake from a troubled sleep, and say anything.

“The Attorney-General of the Federation is the Chief Law Officer of the state. It is within his constitutional powers to determine who has infringed upon the law, and who has not.

“Pretending to carry an imaginary cross is mere obfuscation, if, indeed, a criminal act has been committed. But we leave the courts to judge.” It stated

To claim that President Muhammadu Buhari is anybody’s stooge, the statement said, is not only ridiculous, but also preposterous.

“It is not in the character of our President,” It added.

  • Why I retained Arase as IGP – Buhari

Why I retained Arase as IGP – Buhari

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari Thursday explained why he decided to retain outgoing Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Solomon Arase when he assumed office on May 29, 2015.

The President who spoke at the public presentation of a publication “Cascade of Change: A Decade Of Liberal Thoughts” authored by the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, said Arase’s dossier and his intellectual capacity in the field of operations was enough to convince him to allow the former IGP to finish his tenure and retire gracefully from the Police Force.

Buhari who was represented by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Femi Adesina quoted Arase as saying that it was very strange for him to have been invited for a farewell dinner in his honour at the Abuja State House on Monday, June 20.

According to him, the recent practice has been to be sacked on the pages of Newspapers.

But quoting President Buhari on why he retained Arase till the end of his tenure, Adesina said: “When it was the turn of the President to speak, he explained why he kept Arase as IGP.

“He said, he saw the quality of his mind and he saw the quality of things, he had written. You know Arase has many publications to his credit and he also saw his capacity as an operation person and he decided to keep him till his tenure expired”.

Adesina said the President appreciates sound mind and intellect, adding that Buhari said Arase expressed fears that he expected that he would be sacked before the end of his tenure.

His words:  “While he (Arase) was speaking at the dinner, he told the President that it was very strange for him to have been invited for a farewell dinner, because, what we know in Nigeria is that, you are sacked on pages of newspapers.

“Arase, also had the fear that, since, he was inherited by Buhari’s administration, he was not sure that he would be retained; so every day, he had the trepidation that he would hear that he had been removed.”

Speaking at the event, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode said his administration has succeeded in laying a strong foundation that would propel the State to emerge as a globally competitive City-State, adding that the next line of action was to consolidate on the gains made so far to deliver on first class infrastructure and economic growth.

He said the State has the privilege of housing the largest collection of media houses in Nigeria, saying it was an indicator to the fact that every journalist, editor, columnist and blogger has a role to play in the development of the State.

Ambode while commending the author of the book said it would no doubt go a long way to enhance knowledge as well as shed more light on issues of public discourse and enrich policy design and implementation process.

He said Mr. Ayorinde’s contributions and participation as the arrowhead of the media and strategy team during his gubernatorial campaign was instructive to what the State Government could achieve if members of the team are on the same page.

He urged Nigerians to enrich their personal libraries with the book, just as he called on spirited individuals and corporate organisations to purchase copies and endow the libraries of tertiary institutions in the State for the benefit of the students who are the future of our society.

In his remarks, Chairman of the occasion and former Governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba said in the last one year, Governor Ambode has silently embarked on massive transformation of the State.

He also commended the swiftness in which the Governor attends to issue of infrastructural renewal, saying many testimonies abound that Governor Ambode is a silent achiever, adding that such was what governance should be all about.

On his part, a public commentator and development expert, Professor Pat Utomi recalled the early days of Governor Ambode in office when he was criticized by many as lacking the capacity to lead the state, adding that his response then was “you got to think, plan and act,” adding that he was happy that the Governor has proved him right.

In her goodwill message, former Managing Director of Concord Newspapers, Dr. Doyin Abiola said she was proud that Lagos has always been a centre of excellence producing people of excellence.

She said: “I have never met the Governor and I have never had any discussion with him but from what he has been doing so far, it was clear that he was prepared for the job and he has been moving from step to step.

“I have always wondered how Lagos survived when the Local Government allocation of the state was withheld by the Federal Government. I could not understand it and it was said that Governor Ambode successfully managed the account of the state at that time and so I want to commend them for the good works they are doing and urge them to continue.”

The public presentation of the book was also witnessed by dignitaries including the Oba of Lagos, HRM Rilwan Akiolu 1, former deputy governors of Lagos State, Otunba Femi Pedro who represented Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Princess Sarah Sosan, representatives of Oyo and Osun State Governors, as well as the crème-de-la crème of various national dailies, including Chairman Editorial Board of The Nation Newspapers, Mr. Sam Omatseye, Editor, The Nation, Mr. Gbenga Omotosho, among others.

Work to commence on Lagos-Ibadan express way – Fashola

Motorists plying the Lagos- Ibadan express way will soon begin to smile, as Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola announced that work on the road will commence next week.

Other ministers at the event included Ministers of Budget and National Planning, Udo Udoma; Agriculture and Rural Development, Audu Ogbeh and Environment, Amina Mohammed.

Fashola also said that government is working out on formalities and standards for the smooth implementation of its mass housing plan.

Fashola, who lamented the ongoing vandalization of the oil pipelines, expressed the determination of government to deliver on steady power supply in the country.

He stressed that what the government was working on was to ensure gradual and steady power supply in the country.

“The first one was held in Lagos. Any meaningful assessment must be situated within the right context.

“We campaigned on three broad areas, corruption, revamp the economy and security. Have we met our targets? If you ask me, I will say we are on track.

“When we came in, many local governments in the north-east were under the control of Boko Haram. They hoisted their flags, they were even collecting taxes, but today not even a single local government is under the control of Boko Haram.

“We have been able to liberate 16,000 captors from the enclave of Boko Haram.”

‘‘In order to prove that this administration neither lacks the political will nor the discipline and the determination to fulfill its electoral promises and take Nigeria to greater heights, Mohammed assured that the Change they promised is real.

The Minister noted that the administration campaigned on three broad areas: to tackle insecurity, fight corruption and revamp the economy and boasted that the promises had been met to a great extent, insisting that the administration is on track.

‘‘We acknowledge that the nation is passing through a very difficult situation at this time, with the loss of over 60 per cent of our national income due to the crash in the price of crude oil.

‘‘Though Nigeria has faced the challenges of ethno-religious violence, armed robbery, cattle rustling, kidnapping for ransom, militancy and violent agitations, the most daunting security challenge faced by the country when we assumed office on 29 May 2015 was the Boko Haram insurgency.

‘‘The Administration is also tackling other security problems with the same decisiveness, whether is it cattle rustling, herdsmen/farmers’ clash, militancy and regional agitations. We are not only desirous of communicating to Nigerians, we are actually taking practical steps to address issues.’’

The Minister of Budget and national Planning on his part, said that his ministry had put a mechanism in place to track the efficient implementation of the 2016 budget in tune with the Change agenda of the government and appealed to Nigerians for patience.

The forum was meant to allow the government to give account of its stewardship to the citizens and also engage directly with them on burning national issues.

It is also expected to strengthening democracy help in bridging the communication gap between the government and the people.

The first edition of the town hall meeting under the present administration was held in Lagos on April 25th 2016, over a month to the first year anniversary of the Administration. It had since held the town hall meeting in Kaduna and Kano.

The next edition is slated for Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital on Monday June 13th 2016 before Enugu state.

  • Buhari: Facts about Ear Infection in adults

Buhari: Facts about Ear Infection in adults

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday travel to London to see an ENT specialist following a persistent ear infection.
MDhealth.com in the article outlines types, causes, symptoms and treatment for the infection.

An ear infection is a common condition. Even though it is said to be more frequently diagnosed in children, it is common in adults.
The ear consists of the three main parts: outer ear, middle ear and inner ear. Sound waves reach the outer ear first, then middle ear and then travel to the inner ear. A number of conditions can influence your hearing and ear infections are the most frequent.
Types of Ear Infection in Adults
The majority of ear infection in adults are the outer ear infection (otitis externa), but the middle ear infection (otitis media) can also occur .

    1. Outer Ear Infection in Adults
Outer ear infections are also known as swimmer’s ear, because it is a common swimmer’s problem. Swimmer’s ear is an infection in the outer canal of the ear. It happens when contaminated water gets into the outer ear letting germs to grow and develop because of the moist, warm conditions.

    2. Middle Ear Infection in Adults
Middle ear infection is most often a viral or bacterial infection that affects the air-filled space behind the eardrum, containing small vibrating bones of the ear. When bacteria or fluid gets trapped inside the ear, an infection might occur.

Symptoms of Ear Infection in Adults
    1. Symptoms of Outer Ear Infection in Adults
    Pain in the affected ear
    Itching in the ear canal
Swelling or redness of the outer ear
Excessive discharge from the ear canal (fluid or pus)
Feeling of fullness inside the outer ear
    Temporary hearing loss
    Fever
    When to See a Doctor
See your doctor if you are suffering from any of the swimmer’s ear symptoms, even if they are not severe. Visit the emergency room or call your doctor urgently if you have fever and severe pain.

    2. Symptoms of Middle Ear Infection in Adults
    Ear pain
Feeling of pressure and fullness in the ear
    Vertigo (balance problems)
    Excessive discharge from the ear
    Temporary hearing loss
    Fever
    When to See a Doctor
See your doctor if you are suffering from the severe ear pain, discharge of fluid or blood, or your symptoms last for more than one day.

Causes of Ear Infection in Adults
    1. Causes of Outer Ear Infection in Adults
Swimmer’s ear is frequently caused by bacteria that is usually found in soil and water. Viral or fungal infections are less common. The following conditions can provoke the bacterial growth in your ear:

    Excess moisture in the ear
    Various sensitivity reactions
Abrasions or scratches in the ear canal
    2. Causes of Middle Ear Infection in Adults
Most common causes of the middle ear infection in adults are related to swollen or blocked Eustachian tubes, promoting fluids to build up in the middle ear. Examples of such causes are:

    Colds, flu, and sinus infections
    Allergies
    Air travel
    Smoking or inhalation of irritants
    Overgrown or infected adenoids
    Excess saliva production
Medications for Ear Infection in Adults
    1. Medications for Outer Ear Infection in Adults
    Ear drops
Doctors usually recommend ear drops that have a particular combination of the ingredients, such as steroid, antibiotic, antifungal medications or acidic solution, depending on the severity and the type of the infection.

    OTC pain relievers
Your doctor might also prescribe OTC pain relievers, such as naproxen (also known as Aleve, Anaprox or others), Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil, others), or Acetaminophen (Tylenol, Paracetamol, others). If you are experiencing severe pain, your doctor may recommend stronger pain reliever.

    2. Medications for Middle Ear Infection in Adults
    Ear drops
Similarly as in the case of the outer ear infections, your doctor may prescribe you some ear drops like Aurodex (antipyrine-benzocaine-glycerin). They serve as additional pain reliever in case your ear drums are not perforated. Do not use higher dose of benzocaine than the prescribed dose without consulting with your doctor first.

    OTC pain relievers
Your doctor might recommend pain relievers, such as Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen to ease your pain. Use medications as prescribed by doctor.

    Surgery
In case the ear infection is not getting cured by usual medications, your doctor might consider ear tubes (Tympanostomy). During this treatment, a small tube is inserted into the eardrum, leaving a small hole open that lets air to get in, allowing fluid to drain easier. This procedure is done under general anesthesia. If you suffer from enlarged adenoids, your doctor may recommend removing them, especially if they cause ear infections.

Home Remedies for Ear Infection in Adults
    1. Home Remedies for Outer Ear Infection in Adults
Combine 1 part of white vinegar and 1 part of rubbing alcohol, pour 1 teaspoon of mixture into affected ear and let it drain back out. This solution can prevent the growth of bacteria and help to promote drying.

    2. Home Remedies for Middle Ear Infection in Adults
    ŸWarm compress
Place a warm compress over the affected ear to reduce the pain in the ear. That can be a warm bottle of water or a moist washcloth.

    Ÿ Salt
Salt is one of the most effective home remedies. Heat one cup of salt in the microwave for around 5-6 minutes. Once it is done, place the hot salt into a sock or glove. Tie the open end of the sock or the glove utilizing a rubber band. Lie down and put the remedy under the infected ear for around 10-15 minutes. The heat from the hot salt will help to drain out the fluid from your ear.
