    Why I started working at 17, by Nancy Isime

    Actress and Nancy Isime has opened up about her early ‘hustling’ days as a teenager, shuffling between different jobs to survive. 

    In a recent episode of the CreativiTEA podcast, Isime also spoke about her desire for early retirement.

    Isime, who has been working since she was 17, revealed that she has a clear goal of achieving financial security before retiring early.

    “I have been working since I was 17, early retirement is the plan.So I’m doing all my work now so by the time I am retiring at an age people feel is too early, my portfolio and achievements will speak for themselves,” she said.

    The actress also emphasised the importance of enjoying the journey, rather than just focusing on the end result.

    “We tend to want to see the end results before we do anything. We don’t enjoy the process. I’m very intentional about enjoying the process and the journey, understanding that you can never truly arrive”, she said.

    Speaking of struggles and challenges, Isime said: “People feel like struggles are something to be ashamed of; for me, it’s not. If you go through my Instagram page, you can scroll all the way down. I don’t delete anything because it’s like a memory book for me”.

    Isime also spoke about the importance of building a strong foundation, comparing her journey to a biblical principle.

     “There’s a part of the Bible that says when your foundation is built on Christ, it’s like building on solid rock, and when the rain comes, it stands solid. That’s what I’ve done, building my way through life,” she added.

    “Nigeria has given me everything, fame, money, and the ability to take care of myself and my family. There are just a few people who make it seem like it shouldn’t be that way, but Nigeria is blessed.”

    The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) has weighed in on the uproar surrounding a yet-to-be-released movie featuring actress Nancy Isime. 

    The film’s poster, which shows Isime wearing a Hijab in a robbery scene, sparked widespread condemnation online, with many Muslims calling for its ban.

    In a statement on Friday, the NFVCB clarified that the film has not been submitted for classification and is still in production. 

    The agency acknowledged receiving complaints about the movie’s perceived disrespect towards Muslim women’s attire and has taken steps to address the concerns with the producers.

    The NFVCB reaffirmed its commitment to striking a balance between artistic freedom and cultural sensitivity, vowing to prevent films that could cause harm to religious, cultural, or ethnic groups.

    The statement by its Director General, Shaibu Husseini, reads: “The National Film and Video Censors Board, NFVCB, the statutory regulatory agency for film and video works as well as exhibition and distribution in Nigeria, have received complaints about an upcoming Nigerian movie that associated the Hijab, an outfit attributed to Muslim women that symbolizes modesty and religious devotion, with negative moral vices.

    “Our check revealed that the movie has not been released, and it has not been submitted for classification as required by law and our mandate.

    “However, we have been able to reach the producers of the film and have taken steps to address the concerns raised with the producers.

    “We restate that as a classification agency, we will not overlook any movie or video works, including skits that abuse, denigrate, or undermine religious, cultural, and ethnic sensibilities.

    “We commit to contributing to positive transformation of the Nigerian society through classification of video and film works whilst balancing the need to preserve freedom of expression within the law, and limit cultural, social and religious harm caused by films”.

    Actress Nancy Isime has addressed the backlash she received from the Muslim community over her upcoming movie project.

    After promoting her film with photos of herself wearing a niqab and holding a gun, a Muslim lady criticised her for disrespecting the Islamic faith and using the niqab as a costume.

    Isime responded on Instagram, sharing new photos and emphasising her focus on her goals and peace.

    She stated she chooses to ignore drama and gossip, and doesn’t take others’ opinions personally to protect her peace.

    She added that her light often highlights others’ insecurities, which they project back as flaws.

    “Really out the way. In my own world. No drama, no gossip. Just goals and money. Peace is where I’m at. I don’t bother nobody & I’m not bothered by nobody. That’s my peace. To protect my peace, I stopped taking other people’s projected opinions personally.

    Nancy Isime dissociates self from ‘Jesus baddie’ tag

    Actress and fitness enthusiast, Nancy Isime, has shared a heartfelt post about her personal relationship with God, clarifying her stance on Christianity and her beliefs.

    She expressed her gratitude for the teachings of Apostle Joshua Selman, which, according to her, transformed her mind and faith.

    Isime highlighted that she is a child of God and a Christian by birth and choice, adding that she doesn’t identify with labels like “Jesus Baby” or “Jesus Baddie.”

    She noted that she focuses on emulating Christ’s love, acceptance, and non-judgmental nature.

    She emphasised that her relationship with God is personal and not for public scrutiny or approval.

    Isime also extended a message of inclusivity, respecting people’s diverse religious beliefs and encouraging love and understanding.

    Nancy stated she misses her mum everyday and hopes the feelings are mutual.

    The fitness enthusiast spoke about how exercise has been impactful and helpful for her.

    Actress and TV host Nancy Isime has mourned colleague, Junior Pope, a week after his demise.

    The actor and four others died in a boat mishap on the Anam River after wrapping up a film shoot. 

    Nancy recounted how unimaginable she saw their death, making her feel a horror movie was being scripted. 

    She wrote: “Phew! Last week was tough mehn! The tragedy that hit Nollywood was something I couldn’t even imagine! Felt like a horror movie
    script. Hit me a little hard because I had filmed with one of the victims not too long ago. 

    “Pardon me but I won’t be calling names, going into details or posting pictures. If you don’t know about the disaster, good for you. Trust me!
    It’s SO Sad! I however have a policy to not announce people’s tragedies. It’s not my place. Especially if I barely talked about their Victories. They have families who deserve the right to tell the story how they please, if and how they want to.

    “Praying that God wraps his arms around their families SO tight! So tight that they feel a kind of peace that they can’t even explain. I lost my mum donkey years ago and it still hurts like she just left the house yesterday, so I know asking God to take away the pain is a Lie.

    Actress Nancy Isime shares struggles with weight loss

    Award-winning actress Nancy Isime has shared her weight loss journey with fans and followers. 

    Recalling how she added weight for a movie role in 2022, she recounted the struggles and challenges she faced while trying to get back to her usual weight. 

    Nancy narrated her disappointment when she originally thought the transition back to her normal weight would be easy but instead, it took her two years trying to lose weight. 

    She posted a ‘before and after’ photo, appreciating herself for being relentless and strong, noting to never trying it ever again. 

    Captioning the post, she wrote: ” I’m Nancy Isime, of course I achieve everything I set my mind on. I’m a high value woman, of course I set personal goals and smash them as I please. I’m an actor, of course my body is also an expression of my art. We did it guys. I’m not gonna lie, deciding to add weight for a role in 2022 and lose it right after was a lot more challenging than I expected it to be. 

    ”Took me way longer and way too much effort to get the weight off. I was too sure I’d lose the weight in two weeks, just before filming my next project at the time but yeah, My metabolism failed me. 

    ”I dragged the weight for over a year and across a few more projects. Never again. Happy to be back at my healthiest weight, even smashing my goal by at least three extra kg. My goal was my 2020 no sugar july challenge results but we surpassed that.
