  • NiMet predicts cloudy skies, rains, thunderstorms 

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy weather conditions over the central states of the country today with prospects of thunderstorms and rains over Yola, Jalingo and Mambilla Plateau this morning.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja  also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 29 to 33 and 20 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.

    It added that thunderstorms and rains were expected to affect Kaduna, Jos, Abuja, Niger, Ilorin and Kogi later in the day.

    The agency predicted that the Southern states would experience cloudy skies with chances of thunderstorms and rains over the entire region in the morning hours.

    It also predicted thunderstorms and rains over the region in the afternoon and evening period with day and night temperatures in the range of 29 to 32 and 21 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.

    According to NiMet, Northern States will experience cloudy conditions with prospects of thunderstorms over Sokoto, Kebbi, Maiduguri, Dutse and Nguru are expected in the morning hours.

    “During the afternoon and evening period, isolated thunderstorms are expected over Katsina, Kano and Zaria with day and night temperatures in the ranges of 32 to 36 and 20 to 27 degrees Celsius respectively.”

     

  • NiMet predicts thunderstorms, rains on Thursday

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted prospects of thunderstorms with rains over the central states such as Makurdi, Jos, Taraba, Kaduna, Adamawa, Nasarawa, Abuja, Bauchi and Gombe on Thursday morning.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Wednesday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 26 to 30 and 18 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.

    It added that Bida, Minna, Abuja, Lafia, Lokoja, Jos and Ilorin axis were envisaged to experience thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours.

    The agency predicted that the southern states would experience moderate rains over the entire coastal cities and southeast inland such as Enugu, Owerri, Awka and Abakaliki axis in the morning hours.

    It also predicted localised rain/showers over the coastal and inland states later in the day with day and night temperatures in the range of 28 to 30 and 21 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.

    According to NiMet, northern states will experience thunderstorms with rains over Maiduguri, Nguru, Katsina, Kano and Dutse axis in the morning hours.

    “Sokoto, Gusau, Yelwa and Kebbi will have prospects of thunderstorm with rains in the afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures of 33 to 37 and 21 to 27 degrees Celsius respectively.

    “There are prospects of thunderstorms and rains over several parts of the country with varying intensities in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicts.

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted possible thunderstorms over the central cities of the country, including Abuja, Jos, Lafia, Minna, Bida, Makurdi, Lafia and Ibi later in the day. on Tuesday.

    Other cities listed are Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna, Jalingo and Mambilla Plateau, Ilorin and Ibbi in Taraba.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook iissued by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Monday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 27 to 31 degrees and 20 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.

    The agency predicted that the southern States would experience cloudy conditions over the inland cities with chances of thunderstorm and rain over Port Harcourt, Calabar, Lagos, Eket and Ikom during the morning hours.

    It also predicted thunderstorms over Enugu, Abakaliki, Owerri, Onitsha, Awka, Umuahia, Akure, Lagos, Ibadan, Abeokuta, Osogbo, Ado-Ekiti, Shaki, Port-Harcourt, Calabar, Eket, Obudu, Ogoja, Warri and Benin.

    NiMet further predicted the southern states would have day and night temperatures in the range of 30 to 33 degrees and 22 to 24 degrees Celcius respectively through the forecast period.

    According to NiMet, northern States will experience cloudy morning with chances of thunderstorms in Sokoto, Yelwa, Katsina, Maiduguri, Dutse and Yola.

    “Thunderstorms are expected over Kano, Gusau and environs in afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures in the ranges of 31 to 40 degrees and 22 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.

    “There are prospects of thunderstorms and moderate rain showers due to more influx of moist laden wind across the country in the next 24 hours” NiMet said. (NAN)

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy weather conditions over the central states of the country on Wednesday morning with chances of localised rain showers over Abuja, Minna, Bida, Ilorin, Lokoja, Mambilla and Jalingo axis.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Tuesday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 33 to 41 and 25 to 28 degrees Celsius respectively.

    It added that places like Yola, Jos, Kaduna and Makurdi axis were expected to be under the influence of localised thunderstorms during afternoon and evening hours.

    The agency predicted that the southern States would experience cloudy conditions with chances of isolated thunderstorms over Ogoja, Ikom, Obudu and environs in the morning hours.

    It also predicted isolated thunderstorms over the southwest and coastal axis during the afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures of 32 to 35 and 21 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.

    According to NiMet, Northern States will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions in the morning hours with chances of localised thunderstorm over Maiduguri and Kebbi axis.

    “Northern States are expected to have day and night temperatures in the range of 43 to 43 and 26 to 30 degrees Celsius respectively.

    “With moisture as far as the extreme north, thunderstorms are probable across the country within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicts.

    The Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions over the central states today.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook in Abuja yesterday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 32 to 38 and 17 to 26 degrees Celsius.

    It added that there are slim chances of thunderstorm activities over Lafia, Makurdi and Abuja in the afternoon and evening hours.

    The agency predicted that in the southern states partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected over most parts of the inland cities while cloudy conditions are likely over most parts of the coastal cities in the morning.

    It also predicted chances of isolated thunderstorms over Umuahia, Owerri, Lagos, Ijebu-Ode, Calabar, Eket, Uyo and Port Harcourt in the afternoon and evening hours.

    NiMet further predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 30 to 35 and 23 to 27 degrees Celsius.

    It said the northern states will experience sunny and hazy conditions throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures rangeing from 37 to 42 and 21 to 28 degrees Celsius.

    “With a steady influx of moisture into the country, cloudy to partly cloudy conditions are anticipated over central states down to the coastal cities.

    “Further improvement in visibility is expected over the north and central cities with prospects of some rainfall activities over the southern and central states within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.

    The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted hazy and cloudy morning over the Central States of the country today with increased cloudiness in the afternoon and evening hours.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja yesterday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 32 to 39 and 23 to 27 degrees Celsius.

    It added that there were slim chances of thunderstorm over parts of Niger, Plateau, Kwara, Kogi, Benue and Nassarawa states.

    The agency predicted that the southern states would experience partly cloudy to cloudy morning over most parts of inland and cloudy morning over coastal cities with chances of isolated thunderstorms over Calabar, Yenegoa, Eket, Uyo and Port Harcourt.

    It also predicted scattered thunderstorms over most parts of the region later in the day with day and night temperatures in the range of 34 to 37 and 21 to 27 degrees Celsius respectively.

    According to NiMet, Northern States will experience sunny and hazy conditions with dust haze over Borno, Gombe and Bauchi throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures of 35 to 39 and 20 to 28 degrees Celsius respectively.

    It added that chances of isolated rain showers are expected over Abuja, Jos, Lokoja and environs during the afternoon and evening.

    The agency predicted that the southern states will experience cloudy morning with day and night temperatures in the range of 33 to 37 and 20 to 25 degrees Celsius.

    It also predicted that localised thunderstorms are anticipated over Iseyin, Shaki, Akure, Oshogbo, Benin, Enugu, Owerri, Yenagoa, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Eket and its environs during the afternoon and evening.

    According to NiMet, northern states will experience partly cloudy conditions over most parts of the Northwest with chances of thundery activity over Yelwa axis.

    It further predicted sunny conditions over most parts of the Northeast during the forecast period with day and night temperatures of 37 to 40 and 15 to 23 degrees Celsius.

    “The Inter Tropical Divide (ITD) is around latitude 12°N, keeping most parts of the country under the influence of moist winds.

    “The Northwestern part of the country is likely to be partly cloudy with chances of isolated thundery activity over Yelwa axis, while the northeastern part of the country is expected to be sunny.

    “Isolated rain showers are probable over the high ground areas of the central states, while isolated thunderstorms are anticipated over some parts of the southern cities within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.

    According to NiMet, northern states will experience sunny conditions throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the range of 37 to 41 and 13 to 19 degrees Celsius respectively.

    The agency predicted that southern states would experience cloudy morning, with day and night temperatures in the range of 32 to 38 and 22 to 26 degrees Celsius.

    It also predicted chances of localised thunderstorms over Benin, Abeokuta, Warri, Awka, Owerri, Calabar, Porthacourt, Eket and its environs during the afternoon and evening period hours.

    According to NiMet, northern states will experience sunny conditions throughout the period of forecast with day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 38 to 41 and 22 to 25 degrees Celsius.

    “Sunny conditions are expected over the northern cities with partly to cloudy situation over the central states while the inland states.

    “The coastal cities have chances of localised thunderstorms within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.

    NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja yesterday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 28 to 40 and 12 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

    It also predicted visibility range of two to five kilometres and localised visibility of less than or equal to 1000 metres over the central cities during the forecast period.

    The agency predicted that the southern States would experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions over coastal cities in the morning and most parts of the inland cities during the forecast period.

    It also predicted localised thunderstorms over coastal part of Ondo state, Ijebu-ode, Yenagoa, Port-Harcourt, Calabar and Eket with day and night temperatures of 31 to 38 and 20 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

    According to NiMet, Northern States will experience dust haze conditions throughout the forecast period with visibility range of two to five kilometres and localised visibility of less than or equal to 1000 metres.

    “Northern states are expected to have day and night temperatures in the range of 31 to 34 and 15 to 17 degrees Celsius respectively during the forecast period.

    “Fresh dust has been raised over the source region in Republic of Chad with dust already in suspension.”

     

    “Dust haze conditions are expected over most part of the northern cities, while the inland cities are anticipated to experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions.

    “Slim chances of localised thunderstorms are probable over some parts of the coastal cities within the next 24 hours,’’ NiMet predicted.
