Odumodublvck opens up on year-long abuse of loved one

Rapper Odumodublvck has addressed a prolonged personal crisis, revealing that someone close to him has endured over a year of online abuse, threats and violations allegations.

In a post on X, he stated that the concerns were ignored by powerful figures in the music industry.

He wrote: “The past few weeks have been heavy. My friends and I have been painted in terrible lights, and a deeply personal and painful situation has been twisted into something it is not.

“For over a year, someone close to me has been subjected to ongoing online abuse, threats, and personal violations, and at different points, efforts were made to amplify that abuse. Watching that play out publicly has been difficult, especially as false narratives and targeted attacks continued”.

The “Declan Rice” hitmaker described the situation as deeply painful and personal, rejecting attempts to frame it as a “rap beef” or career-boosting publicity stunt.

He also condemned the exploitation of personal trauma for entertainment, calling it “insensitive” and “deeply disrespectful.”

“This issue has now been twisted to look like a “rap beef,” a move to service someone’s career. I said it last year, even when tensions were low, that this is not rap beef. It’s a personal matter that has been exploited for clout. Reducing a person’s hurt to entertainment is not only insensitive but deeply disrespectful, he alleged.

The artist, known for his unfiltered commentary, said he had privately appealed to label executives, industry leaders, and influential figures to intervene, but received no meaningful support.

He said: “Throughout this ordeal, I tried to resolve things the right way. I reached out privately to people with the power and influence to intervene, including label heads, executives, and industry leaders. I believed they would do what was right. But no one helped. Many chose to protect their interests, their artists, and their investments instead of standing up for the truth”.

Odumodublvck emphasised that his eventual public response was not motivated by ego or rivalry, but by a need to protect the individual after others failed to act.

He said: “When it became clear that no one would protect her, I felt compelled to step in. These actions were not driven by ego or pride, but by anger, frustration, and the need to defend someone I care about who had been tormented for far too long while everyone looked away”.

The rapper, whose real name is Tochukwu Ojogwu, has a history of speaking out on social and industry issues.

He reiterated his commitment to honesty, even at the cost of relationships with former allies

Odumodublvck, who kept the name of the individual at the center of the abuse or specified the alleged perpetrators undisclosed, has now declared the matter closed, stating his focus is now on “peace, closure, and moving forward”.

“I have always stood for honesty and accountability. I’ve called out those I once respected because when it mattered most, they chose silence. That is not leadership. That is not character.

“At the end of the day, you can decide if your hate for me outweighs your sense of justice. The matter has been addressed, and I have chosen not to revisit it. My focus now is on peace, closure, and moving forward,” he stated.

I’ve lost every iota of respect for you, Odumodublvck slams M.I Abaga

Rapper Odumodublvck has revoked respect for hip-hop veteran M.I Abaga, branding the iconic emcee a “fence-sitter,” in a series of explosive posts on X.

The artist born Tochukwu Ojogwu declared he had lost all respect for M.I, labeling him a short man devil and a rat.

He claimed M.I knowingly stood by while a blatant lie was directed at him, choosing neutrality to protect a polished public image.

Odumodublvck emphasised that unlike M.I, he remains indifferent to public opinion.

On his X handle, he wrote: “MI_Abaga as for you. The whole world are going to be shocked that I am talking to you like this and I know they will come for me because you are very good at portraying the ‘good’ guy.

“One thing they did not tell you is that I don’t care about public opinion unlike you.

“You stood in front of a blatant lie and decided to sit on the fence like Abuchi. I have lost every iota of respect for you. I am coming out to the world. Short man devil, you no be my OG. You are nothing but a rat. I bet you won’t reply because I am saying the truth.”

The posts triggered immediate backlash with many users criticising Odumodublvck for disrespecting a foundational figure in Nigerian rap.

Critics pointed to his earlier advocacy for honoring elders as evidence of inconsistency.

A smaller group defended the outburst as a necessary challenge to authority, arguing that accountability should outweigh seniority.

M.I Abaga, co-founder of Chocolate City and a two-time BET Award nominee, has not responded to the backlash.

His most recent remarks on younger artists came in July 2025, when he stated he felt no intimidation from the new generation and urged them to match his output in the studio.

He previously acknowledged Odumodublvck’s rising influence with public praise.

Bloody Civilian not a Z-list artist, Odumodublvck makes U-turn

Rapper Odumodublvck has addressed the backlash trailing his recent interview with BET Network, where he was quoted as referring to female artists like Bloody Civilian and Smur Lee as “Z-list artists.”

During the interview, Odumodublvck spoke on supporting upcoming talents without demanding anything in return.

“I can help you without taking anything from you, same thing with the girls. I want to be able to give girls deals without having to compromise themselves.

“The last time a Nigerian girl was number one on the chart, I think it was probably me. I’ve gone number one with two girls, Smur Lee and Bloody Civilian, and they were not A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H artists – they were Z artists. But yes, they went number one. That’s to show you that girls out there, you can do your thing without compromising,” he said.

His remark sparked widespread criticism online, with many calling him out for seemingly belittling the mentioned female artists.

In response, Odumodublvck clarified the statement on X, explaining that his words were exaggerated and not meant to discredit anyone.

“BLOODY IS NOT A Z LIST ARTIST. NEITHER ARE THE NAMES I CALLED.
Z WAS JUST AN EXAGGERATION TO AMAZING FEMALE ARTISTS LIKE SMUR LEE, KENKÉ & VALENTINO, WHO ARE MAKING A NAME FOR THEMSELVES. – THE MACHINE.”

Odumodublvck weighs in on politics, race

Rapper Odumodublvck has spoken on the country’s political system and the struggles of Black people in America.

In an interview with BET,  Odumodublvck criticised the tendency of Nigerians to blame the President for every national problem, ignoring the roles of local government and state officials.

“You have a local government, you have your councillor, you have your senator, the guys that are directly in charge of you, but when anything happens, they say ‘ah, Tinubu’. You’re a small fish to the president. The guy that is supposed to take care of you is the one opposite you. But that’s what you get when you use that kind of policy to govern a people – when everybody’s sovereignty is in the hands of one man,” he said.

On politics, Odumodublvck stated that concentrating power in one person creates a system vulnerable to manipulation and corruption.

“If he’s a good man, they can take away your liberty by threatening him. What if he’s a man who waited 20 years for a child, becomes a governor, and they tell him, ‘If you don’t do this corruption, we’ll harm your daughter’? Even if he wants to help the people, he doesn’t have a choice,” he said.

He emphasised that democracy is weakened when sovereignty is in the hands of one man, and that this system can lead to problems for citizens.

“If the sovereignty is in the hand of one man, there’s a problem. I’ve said what I need to say,” he added.

On the struggles of Black people in America, the rapper urged the community to move beyond the victim mentality and take advantage of new opportunities.

He acknowledged the suffering of Black people in America but pointed out that it’s time to forgive and focus on progress.

Odumodublvck also compared the struggles of Black people in America to those in Africa, stating that the latter have faced more severe hardships, including suffering at the hands of their own people.

“We cannot deny that America is now a better place for Black people. Black people have suffered in America, yes, but it’s time to step away from the victim mentality. We now have Black-owned businesses, a former Black president, people doing well in sports – now is the time to fly”, he added.
