Ex-Nigeria handler, Sunday Oliseh is expecting the Nigeria Football Federation to pay him and Francois Loscuito their outstanding debts without litigation.

The former Super Eagles captain resigned as coach of the country’s senior national team on February 26, 2016 over unpaid wages plus series of battle with the NFF, media and fans owing to Nigeria’s early exit from the African National Championship.

Oliseh revealed on Twitter that the Amaju Pinnick led board has disregarded letters from his assistant’s  [Loscuito] lawyer and fears the Court of Arbitration for Sports could clamp down heavily on the country.

“Hope the NFF will pay coach Losciuto & myself the huge amounts they still owe us without litigation whilst we are alive! Pray they listen!,” he tweeted.

“For 5 months, Losciuto’s lawyers’ letters to D NFF have been ignored. Should CAS suspend Nigeria it is not his fault.B4 they lie 2 you again!”

The NFF who had earlier claimed that they had paid him off are expected to announce the shortlists of coaches expected to succeed Oliseh on Friday afternoon.

Nigeria, having missed out of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations billed for Gabon must negotiate their way past Zambia, Cameroon and Algeria to reach the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.

Ex-Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, is expecting the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to pay him and his assistant, Francois Loscuito their outstanding wages without litigation.

Oliseh resigned as Eagles coach on February 26 over unpaid wages and several clashes with the NFF, media and fans after Nigeria’s early exit from the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Rwanda, Goal reports.

Oliseh said Twitter that the Amaju Pinnick led federation has disregarded letters from Loscuito’s lawyer and feared the Court of Arbitration for Sports could clamp down heavily on the country.

“Hope the NFF will pay coach Losciuto and myself the huge amounts they still owe us without litigation whilst we are alive! Pray they listen,” Goal quoted the ex-Eagles’ captain as saying on his Twitter handle.

Oliseh to appear before sports committee today

Former Super eagles coach Sunday Oliseh is expected to give his own version to why he suddenly quit his post with just a month to the crucial AFCON qualifiers against Egypt.

“Sports Minister Solomon Dalung has insisted he be part of the committee’s hearing and so he will be in attendance on Thursday,” a sports ministry official informed.

The sports minister ordered Oliseh not to be sacked when Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president Amaju Pinnick presented a recommendation of the technical committee that the coach be fired.

The NFF have maintained this briefing is a major distraction as the Super Eagles are preparing for must-win AFCON qualifiers against Egypt.

    Oliseh withdraws lawsuit against NFF

    • Says it is in the Interest of Nigeria

Former Nigeria coach, Sunday Oliseh has withdrawn a lawsuit against the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), saying it is in the interest of the country.

“I have instructed my lawyers to withdraw the lawsuit against the NFF; after speaking with well-meaning Nigerians whom I respect a lot, I also believe that it is useless joining issues with people who are bent on deceiving and misleading Nigerians and diverting attention from reality.

“The reality is that I decided to resign on  February 25 because certain vested interest in the NFF put their own interest first before the interest of our country.

“I also believe that Nigerians deserve to know the truth. I feel that it is important to know that my position as regards Nigeria coming first was a hindrance to the personal interest of certain vested interest in the NFF and for that reason anybody who is coming  in as Chief Coach and puts Nigeria first will always have problems; that is for sure.

“This also explains why the importance of very necessary expenditure that are important for the progression of our country like wages of the players, benefits of players and coaches are always placed secondary whereas other expenditures that have little bearing to the progression of our country will always be  first.

“For example trips that are not important for our national team to progress. I also feel that in order for Nigerians not to get the true picture and tarnish my credibility that is why they have come out with this story that they paid me and then I left.

“I have attached underneath here-since I am not going ahead with the lawsuit- the statement of my account of my Zenith Bank-the bank the NFF have used in the few occasions I have been paid.

“You can see from the month of February that there is no payment that was paid from the NFF to me up to the time I resigned on the 25th and even after that to the 29th, the month ending.

“I asked the technical committee for materials to help us against Egypt, I asked them in July 2015 and as at the time I resigned on  February 25, 2016, there was no information for us even though I had reminded them on several occasions by email and there is proof of it so they dare not deny it.

“What I feel they found more important to them was trying to influence who plays for Nigeria, who gets invited and obviously I refused because they are not coaches. I also feel that it is unfair to treat players the way they have been treated because it influences how the players perform and how they react.

“So for that reason I have attached here also, of the food they are saying I didn’t buy in South Africa. I have attached it here for you to see. Where in the world does the national team coach buy food for the team to eat and we are the richest African nation, I leave it to judge yourself.

“Since I didn’t want to be part of this, of putting Nigeria secondary and personal interest first, there was no way this could continue and I felt it was time to let it be. That was why I resigned. Nothing else.

“On February 16 I wrote a demand letter to the NFF and I gave them an ultimatum for the 25th to settle issues dating way back to July 2015 and almost at midnight why that ultimatum was not met, I resigned.

“No phone call was made, no email was made to try to address this demand letter and it was clear and when I resigned, I resigned by email and also by post mail and even afterwards the president and vice-president called me and we spoke about this till almost 2am and they tried to convince me not to do that but the decision has been taken.

“Before even that I had contacted the Minister with due respect to Nigerians and to him before I even reigned I called him to tell him and alert him what I had decided as father of Nigerian sports.

“So I don’t really think you need too much convincing because you have always known our federation, what they are like. But once again it was a pleasure to serve as Nigeria’s coach and long live Nigeria. Thank you.”

    • Indomitable Lions’ management looks elsewhere

Former Nigeria international, Sunday Ogochukwu Oliseh rejected the offer from Cameroon’s Football Federation (FECAFOOT) to coach the Indomitable Lions while he was still the Chief Coach of the Super Eagles, Sportinglife can reveal exclusively today.

Sportinglife gathered further that Oliseh politely told his suitors that he couldn’t dump his fatherland to coach Cameroon irrespective of the huge difference in what he was earning coaching the Nigerian side and what the Cameroonians were offering, insisting that he was enjoying his job with the Eagles.

Those close to the tactician revealed that the coach, on the hindsight is ruing the missed oportunity to handle the Indomitable Lions following the unceremonious manner in which he resigned from the plum Eagles job.

The Cameroonians moved on from appointing Oliseh to secure the services of Hugo Broos, a Belgian, born on April 10, 1952.

NFF has outlived Oliseh’s saga – Green

The head of the Nigeria Football Federation technical committee, Chris Green, on Tuesday said the body has outlived the Sunday Oliseh saga and is 100 per cent focused on this month’s African Nations Cup (AFCON) qualifiers against Egypt.

Oliseh quit his job as Super Eagles manager last week.

However, the NFF has filled the void created by Oliseh’s exit by recalling former manager, Samson Siasia, Emmanuel Amuneke, Salisu Yusuf and Alloy Agu to prepare the team for the matches.

Green said the committee will not allow itself to be distracted further by Oliseh’s resignation, but work towards defeating the North Africans in the upcoming matches.

“Our focus right now is on the immediate two AFCON matches against Egypt as Sunday Oliseh is no more a distraction,” he told supersport.com.

“At least, the people in office can continue to take care of any issues concerning coach Sunday Oliseh.

“The technical committee has put behind us the Oliseh’s case. Ours is to put thing right to ensure we claim the desired results in the two matches.

“I must tell you we are wiser right now and I believe we have learnt our lesson from Oliseh’s tenure.

“I’m not making excuses for myself though I was not the chairman of technical then, but we jointly agreed to hire him. So we take responsibility.

“I think it’s just fair and proper for people to allow the technical committee do what is right in their work.

“First and foremost, Oliseh is the coach of the federation and cannot afford to insult or paint the body in bad light.

“Oliseh was praised to high heaven upon appointment in good fate and equally nicknamed the ‘Pep Guardiola’ of Africa to challenge him achieve the feat of the coach.

“Like I said everything was done in good fate. But we have work to do and we must work fast to ensure the work is well done.”

Paul Bassey: Eagles won’t have beaten Egypt with Oliseh

CAF Technical Committee member, Paul Bassey has revealed that ex-Super Eagles head coach, Sunday Oliseh took the right decision to resign because the process that led to his emergence was faulty and that the team won’t have been able to beat the Pharaohs of Egypt with him in charge during the 2017 AFCON qualifier in Kaduna next month.

Bassey told SportingLife that Oliseh’s appointment didn’t go through due process in the appointment of coaches for the national team as big as Nigeria and that it was bound to fail.

He said even though Oliseh was a good pundit but that it wasn’t sufficient for him to be handpicked the way it was done to come and manage the Eagles without adequate experience in coaching and that it was a welcome relief that he had to go, to save the country from another AFCON tournament shut out had he stayed.

“I don’t have any reaction. It was a faulty appointment right from the start. Some of us may be good journalists but not experts in football. Oliseh is a very intelligent young man ;he knew when to take a dive because there was no how, with due respect though, that we could have beaten Egypt with Oliseh in charge,” Bassey told SportingLife.

AFCON: Nigeria can defeat Egypt – Oliseh

Former Nigeria coach, Sunday Oliseh, has said the North African side, Egypt is no longer a dominant force and can be defeated by Super Eagles in next month’s African Nations Cup (AFCON) qualifiers.

Oliseh quit as Eagles coach on Thursday after claiming several contractual breaches by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Nigeria hosts the Egyptians in Kaduna on March 25, while the reverse fixture takes place two days later in Cairo.

Oliseh left his position with just a month to the all-important qualifiers, but he has restated his belief that his former charges will defeat the North Africans.

“The Egyptians are not as good as they were four years ago, we can beat them,” africanFootball.com quoted the ex-Eagles skipper as saying on a radio interview on Saturday morning.

He refused to comment on the coaches that had been appointed to replace him ahead of next month’s matches.

“It doesn’t matter who is there, what matters is that Nigeria advance,” he said when asked about the Samson Siasia-led coaching crew named to lead the team against Egypt.
