2026 will be fast, strange, troublesome – Olukoya warns evil traders

The General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, has described the year 2026 as a “fast, strange and troublesome year,” warning that it will demand intense prayers and spiritual vigilance.

Dr. Olukoya gave the prophetic outlook during the church’s crossover service held at the MFM Prayer City along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway on Thursday morning.

He noted that events of 2025 are “dovetailing” into 2026, making the New Year one that requires heightened spiritual alertness.

According to the cleric, the tables of “evil traders” operating within churches will be turned upside down in 2026, warning such individuals to desist or face the wrath of God.

Speaking further, Olukoya cautioned that the kingdom of darkness has renewed its strategy, particularly in the recruitment of children, stressing that much damage has already been done.

He urged believers to engage in fervent prayers to avert looming crises and to pray against strange occurrences, including fire explosions.

He also prophesied that the mighty hand of God would fight on behalf of His people across many nations, adding that 2026 would be a tragic year for traitors, disloyal persons and unfaithful married individuals.

“God will pass through nations, families and churches to reward and to judge,” he declared.

However, Olukoya assured worshippers—especially members of MFM—that those who remain prayerful and steadfast have nothing to fear. He described 2026 as a year of “great deliverance and fresh glory” for the faithful.

Quoting from several biblical passages, including Genesis 45:7, 1 Chronicles 11:14, Psalm 18:50, Job 29:20 and Luke 4:18, the cleric outlined 20 survival keys for believers in 2026.

“The keys include regular fasting and prayer, developing “violent faith,” praying persistently until results are achieved, avoiding fear and anxiety, self-encouragement, refusing unhealthy comparisons, striving for excellence, living a holy life, and cultivating discipline and hard work.”

“Others are constant praise, honesty, Christian love, time consciousness, goal-setting, deep study of the Bible, and learning to hear from God”.

Olukoya concluded by urging Christians to take personal responsibility for their spiritual lives, stressing that only those who are spiritually prepared will successfully navigate the challenges of the New Year.

  • Olukoya urges women to embrace organ playing for evangelism, empowerment

Olukoya urges women to embrace organ playing for evangelism, empowerment

The General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Pastor Daniel Olukoya, has called on women to deliberately develop their musical talents, particularly in organ playing, describing music as a powerful tool for evangelism, self-actualisation and empowerment.

Pastor Olukoya made the call at the Ladies on the Organ 2.0 programme organised by the Association of Nigerian Female Organists at the MFM International Headquarters, Yaba, Lagos.

The event, themed Her Hymn, Her Organ, featured gifted female organists who took turns performing on a three-manual organ. One after another, they mounted the grand wooden console, filling the auditorium with rich classical hymns that drew admiration from the audience.

Speaking as the Grand Patron of ANFO, Olukoya stressed that gender should never be a barrier to excellence in any field, including music ministry. He noted that encouraging women to play the organ goes beyond music, as it challenges stereotypes and creates opportunities for women to thrive.

“What a man can do, a woman can even do better,” he said. “This initiative is a means of evangelism, confidence-building and a reminder that gender barriers should not restrict anyone, especially those with passion for music.”

He disclosed that to sustain the vision, an organ school has been established at Mountain Top University to provide structured and professional training for aspiring organists.

“That is why we created a platform and made teachers available to train more people,” he explained. “Together, we are breaking barriers and empowering the next generation of female organists. With time, this vision will continue to grow.”

The cleric further encouraged women across denominations to seize the opportunity, noting that the initiative, which began with a maiden edition last year, has continued to expand without discrimination.

In the same vein, the founder of ANFO and wife of the General Overseer, Mrs Folashade Olukoya, said her passion for empowering women through music was shaped by personal experiences and observations of societal realities.

Recalling how her parents often intervened in resolving disputes, she observed that women frequently bear the brunt of challenges in marriage and society, a reality that inspired her to create a platform where women could discover and fully actualise their God-given potentials.

“My husband believes strongly that people can actualise their potentials,” she said. “I decided that if everyone stays in their space and fulfils their God-given abilities, life will be better for all of us.”

Describing women as solutions, Mrs Olukoya warned that any society that fails to create space for women risks stagnation.

“A nation that does not give space to women will remain lonely. Women are needed to move the world forward. When women are denied space, they become unfulfilled and unable to actualise their potentials,” she said.

She urged women to see themselves as the Eves of their time, encouraging them to identify their spheres of influence, raise their voices, pursue their passions and grow in wisdom.

“Whatever we do, let us do it heartily, not unto men, but unto God,” she added.

Also speaking, the ANFO Coordinator, Mrs Abiodun George, commended Pastor Olukoya and his wife for their unwavering support, highlighting the financial and technical demands of learning the organ, which she described as an expensive instrument beyond the reach of many.

“Purchasing an organ is not affordable for most people,” she said. “But the General Overseer believed in us, provided professional trainers and created a safe space for us to grow. The training fees alone are beyond what many of us can afford, yet Pastor Olukoya made it accessible.”

One of the standout performers at the event, 28-year-old Temitope Aina, expressed excitement after receiving a standing ovation from the audience. She said her passion for music began in childhood, nurtured by a father who is a pianist and a mother who is a choir leader.

A first-class graduate of the University of Ibadan, Temitope currently teaches at a piano school, offers online music lessons to clients in the diaspora, and is pursuing a Master’s degree in Music at Mountain Top University.

Olukoya dedicates chapel gifted to Lagos school

The General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Worldwide, Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, has recently dedicated a one-storey building chapel, built by the MFM Tent Makers Pastoral Ministry Lagos Region 15, Victoria Island, for use by the students at the King’s College, Lagos.

Olukoya, during the well-attended brief ceremony, emphasised that God does not need you to know any big or influential person to help you, or move you to the next level; “He uses the unexpected things of this world to help whoever He wants to help,” the man of God said.

“God does not need VIPs (Very Important Persons) to promote you; God does not need to go to something big to push you forward. God can use somebody that you do not even know; somebody that is small, to move you to your next level,” he emphasised.

He charged the staff and students of the school, who filled the hall to pray: ‘O God, raise a voice for me where I have no voice,’ as he declared that God can use servants to move one forward.

The General Overseer cited his personal experience, whereby he went to submit his application form for the Commonwealth scholarship to study abroad, after two months of the closure of the form’s submission.

According to him, when he got to the office to submit his application for the scholarship, the official he met in the office made a jest of him for coming to submit the form two months after the official closing date to do so, and they drove him out of their office.

Dejected and downcast, the young Olukoya said that he went to stand at the entrance of the office, where he was bemoaning his fate, when a young man, carrying food plates, came out of the premises and enquired of him what he was doing at the entrance to the premises.

Olukoya said that he explained his mission to the man, who asked what class of certificate he had and to which he responded that he had a first class. On hearing this, the man told him to wait for him, with a promise to assist him in submitting the form once he returned from his errand.

This promise, the messenger fulfilled by taking Olukoya to his boss, who happened to be the one in charge of the Commonwealth scholarship beneficiary’s selection. That was how Olukoya was offered a scholarship to do his doctorate in the United Kingdom. God used a messenger to help him fulfil his destiny.

“God raised a voice for me where I had no voice,” the man of God stressed and charged the audience to pray a simple prayer point, ‘God, raise a voice for me where I have no voice.’ Olukoya charged the students to do whatever they do very well, so that somebody can make a recommendation of them, even behind them.

According to him, “There are three pillars of success. One, if you want to be great in any subject, the trick is that you must be a master of that subject. Once you master that subject, you will be great at that subject.

Number two is that anything you know how to do and you do well, wherever you are, people will look for you. People will cross the borders to look for you, and number three is that everybody created by God is a solution to a problem, and wherever you are, people will come to look for you.

The event, which was attended by senior pastors in the MFM Tent Makers Pastoral Ministries, led by Pastor Clement Imoru, also had in attendance the principal, vice principal and all senior teachers at the King’s College, who expressed excitement and appreciation at the kind gesture of the MFM Ministries.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry has provided similar gestures in the University of Lagos Staff School, the Methodist Boys High School, and the Queen’s College, while more are in the pipeline, as part of the corporate social responsibility of MFM.

Olukoya ordains 5,000 pastors at MFM

The General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Worldwide, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, yesterday ordained 5,000 men and women as pastors, with a charge to them to be dedicated to their call and shun rebellion.

The ceremony was the climax of a four-day 2025 Global Ministers Conference tagged: ‘The Message, the Messenger and the Power’.

Addressing the ordinands gathered from across the world, before the Sunday Service at the Prayer City, along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Olukoya described rebellion as a killer, saying it was unfortunate that people rebelled.

“Any rebellion will have supporters, who cheer them on. They will be giving them money to cheer them on, so that they can misbehave,” the respectable clergy said, citing the case of rebellious Absalom in the Bible, who died in war front, as a biblical example.

According to him, there are many people on the internet, who call themselves general overseers, papas, general superintendents, overseers, among others, asserting that “they can call themselves anything, but no problem, time will tell, when we shall be sifting the weeds from the chaffs.

“You are ordained today; whose anointing are you carrying; is it oil of God or of man? If it is men’s, you better back out now. It is not too late, you can still back out now. The battle shall prove them; the future will tell who the true pastors are. The anointed does not die useless death.

“Others may be washed away like dustbin; others may be wasted suddenly, but not the anointed. The first rule in the school of the anointed is that you must be recommended by God. Men may call you, but they cannot anoint you. Satan may call you but cannot anoint you; the devil can call you but he cannot anoint you. We can call you, but we cannot anoint you. You can call yourself, but you cannot anoint yourself. Only God can call and ordain you.”

Olukoya said a fellow human being can recommend someone, because he/she does not see the person’s inner mind, but God does and he warns the newly ordained pastors to be careful of their conduct within and outside the church.

“You must not oppress the sheep. You must be diligent and busy, working for God. No human being can ordain you, only God can do. Beginning from today, you shall not be the same person again,” the notable deliverance general overseer charged the new pastors.

Speaking at SOAR 2024, a global youth conference organised by the MFM Youth Directorate at Prayer City, Olukoya emphasised that lasting greatness comes only through God’s power and not through worldly or deceptive means.

She noted that many youths are losing focus due to a lack of divine wisdom, power, and direction, stating “Youths must stop comparing themselves to others who achieve transient success through the wrong means. Only God can provide wealth and greatness without sorrow.”

She warned against mingling with the wrong crowd, whom she described as offering “poison” that leads to destruction.

Speaking on the topic “Overpowering barriers to your soaring,” she urged young people to accept Jesus Christ, develop a life of prayer, and immerse themselves in the Bible.

Why faith-based universities charge high fees, Olukoya

General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracle (MFM) and Proprietor of Mountain Top University, Ogun state, Prof Daniel Olukoya, has attributed the high cost of maintaining universities to the reason faith-based universities charge high tuition.

Prof. Olukoya spoke in Akure shortly after he was conferred with honorary doctoral degrees in Management at the 34th and 35th convocation of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA).

He said the high cost of energy was responsible for the high school fees.

Olukoya absolved proprietors of faith-based universities as being responsible for the high fees.

He said: “It is not the fault of those proprietors. I am one of them. I am always at the back of the poor because I know how difficult it was for me to get to the university. My parents didn’t have the money.

“But then the current situation states that if you cannot pay good money to the lecturers or the professors, you won’t get good teachers. And if you run a private university and you are paying less than the federal universities, you will not get good professors.

“So it is the financing and paying the salaries. And there is the situation of power. To run a university on a generator is a lot of money. In our university, most of the money goes to diesel. It is now we are installing solar.”

Prof. Olukoya said divine intervention through prayers would take the country out of economic challenges and insecurity.

He said: “There is only one weapon that can kill any problem, it is prayers. No matter how strong it is, prayer can dismantle any problem

“And so I keep preaching here that what we need in Nigeria is divine intervention.

“Let God intervene in what we are doing. Divine intervention is greater than your brain, what your brain can do. And from what is happening in the world, you can see that God is showing mankind that they are helpless.”
