Olukoya speaks on the supernatural as MFM celebrates 35th anniversary

The General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Dr Daniel Olukoya, has called on Christians to seek spiritual power to fulfill their divine destinies.

The cleric stated this on Friday during the opening ceremony of the church’s 35th anniversary tagged ‘Power From on High’ at the Prayer City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Olukoya said: “The need for power is needed today and you need to pay the price to receive this power. This power is the strength of God in you to trample on serpents and scorpions.

“One definition of spiritual power that I like so much is to know what ought to be and you decide that what ought to be must be. It will remove blockages on your way.”

He added: “It has been 35 years of grace, 35 years of the manifestations of the raw power of God. Thirty-five years of the supernatural manifestations of the glory of God, 35 years of uncommon signs and wonders, 35 years of the unhindered move of God, 35 years of putting the enemies to shame, and 35 years of putting the enemies’ gear into the reverse.

“It has been 35 years of the extraordinary presence and unpolluted love of God in our midst and in the lives of those who have found in the Mountain of Fire and Miracles, a place of refuge, a haven of succour, a fortress of God’s raw power, a fountain flowing with God’s word to give fulfilment to those who are spiritually thirsty, dry or empty and a divinely empowered school where your hands are trained to war and your fingers to fight.

“From our small beginnings in 1989 to this minute, the Lord has been gracious to us as his privileged and favourite children. We give Him all the glory. We give Him all the honour and adoration.

“Our 35th-anniversary convention offers us another chance to showcase and celebrate the supernatural and explosive manifestation of God’s unstoppable power in ways that are strange and unbelievable.”

His wife, Pastor (Dr) Shade Olukoya, noted that women have very important roles to play in the Christian ministry as they fit into God’s unique purpose.

“The passion of God for women in the way he handled and perfected the making process of the woman was wonderful as we can see in the case of Eve. The making process was important to God because he put the woman together to fit into his purpose, therefore, women are very unique,” she said.

Olukoya, members reflect on achievements, social impact as MFM celebrates 35th anniversary

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries(MFM) has restated its commitment to making positive impact on citizens and communities throughout the country.

The General Overseer of MFM worldwide, Dr Daniel Olukoya, made this known ahead of the church ‘s 35th anniversary thanksgiving and Convention from August 16-18 with the theme “Power from on high”.

The programme holds at the MFM Prayer City, Kilometre 12, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.

Thousands of worshippers are expected to be present for the anniversary, which will be characterised with an award ceremony, lectures and music concerts.

General Overseer of the church, Dr Daniel Olukoya, said: “You will see that many things will happen after this event. Speaking of our country, there will be peace and stability, and our economy will be able to develop.

“We also offer scholarships, particularly to first-class students and have completed numerous road constructions. We have provided palliatives to the people, along with other forms of empowerment.

“Apart from the spiritual impacts the ministry has made in different areas, the vision the Lord gave our leader extends beyond teaching people how to pray and fast. It also encompasses guiding individuals to become responsible citizens, both to themselves and to the world at large.”

The MFM began in 1989 with a prayer meeting of 24 people in Dr Olukoya’s living room while he was working at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research(NIMR) in Yaba.

From that small beginning, the prayer meetings attracted many members until it moved to 60, Old Yaba Road where the teeming crowd of believers grew in even more amazing proportion which necessitated yet another relocation.

This was when the prayer group was offered and purchased an abandoned slum located at 13, Olasimbo Street, Onike, Yaba.

While addressing worshippers at the church in May, Olukoya gave a brief history of the location, now known as the MFM International Headquarters.

He explained that the piece of land with which the Ministry started its international headquarters was discovered by his mechanic (who later became a member and pastor in the church), who informed him that the owner of the plot wanted to sell it in 1994.

The cleric, who bagged a doctorate degree from the University of Reading, England, added that MFM has increased the voltage of prayers in Christianity, among other things Lord has used the ministry to do in the lives of his people.

Speaking on testimonies and deliverances God is doing through the Church, the Regional Overseer in charge of Evangelism in MFM, Pastor Bola Aruna, noted that the General Overseer and his wife have been sponsoring and encouraging evangelism activities in MFM with a strong welfare scheme.

MFM pastors lift masses as Olukoya, wife celebrate birthday

A group of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Pastors under the auspices of ‘Six Sons of Prophet DKO’ has given food and cash gifts to ameliorate the suffering of the masses to celebrate the birthday of MFM founder Dr Daniel Olukoya at 67 and his wife, Shade.

Coordinator of the group, who is also the  Regional Overseer of South-South Region 7  Ikom, Cross River State and coordinator of the Online Deliverance Prophetic Prayer and Revival Team, Pastor Morenikeji Jesusina, said the gesture was in line with the passion of Olukoya whose priority is to put smiles on faces of the needy, less privileged, downtrodden, the widows, widowers to mention a few.

The group described Olukoya as a father, mentor and giver revealing that apart from his passion for soul-winning for Christ and setting the captives free through deliverances, the General Overseer is passionate about putting smiles on the faces of the people, making people happy and doing all within his power to see that lives are transformed spiritually, physically and emotionally.

This, according to the group, was attested to by the President of America, Joe Biden while presenting the Presidential Achievement Award recently to the General Overseer, Dr. Olukoya.

The group, which comprises of Mega Regional Overseers, Pastor Moses Adekunle, Pastor  Patrick Pat,  Pastor Samuel Oladejo and other Regional Overseers, Pastor Jesusina Morenikeji, Pastor Gbenga Aremu,  Pastor Oluwole Usikalu , said they are happy giving to others keenly following the footsteps of their father in the Lord.

According to them: “Every July is the birthday of our father and mother in the Lord, Dr. Daniel and Mrs. Shade Olukoya.

“We the “Sons of the Prophet of DKO” comprising six of us have decided to specially celebrate our mentor, teacher, and father with a heart of gold, Dr. Olukoya and our most precious Mummy GO by sharing free food and giving cash gifts to members of the public across the country, in a different location where we are.

“This act we believe will gladen the heart of our father a giver himself rather than throwing frivolous parties. Moreso, there is hunger in the land, so we felt it would be good to celebrate them by giving back to the less privileged.

MFM’s GO, Olukoya, denies sending former pastors to jail

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry, (MFM) and the General Overseer, Dr. Daniel Olukoya have said that he did not frame or jail his former pastors Mr. Femi Jimoh and Caleb Oloruntele or any other person for nine years or for any period.

It will be recalled that the convener of RevolutionNow, Mr. Omoyele Sowore through the Sahara Reporters, an online platform recently called on the Nigeria Police Force to immediately arrest, and prosecute MFM Founder, Dr. Olukoya for allegedly influencing the incarceration of pastor Femi Jimoh for nine years without trial.

In the report, Pastor Femi Jimoh who identified himself as a former MFM pastor had accused the church of being behind his incarceration for nine years without trial, over the alleged armed robbery.

Speaking at the Yaba headquarters of the church, on behalf of the church and the General Overseer, the Chief Legal Adviser, Davidson Adejuwon, explained that Jimoh was only remanded and granted bail, adding that after he was granted bail, the family refused to get two individuals to stand as sureties to perfect the bail and secure his release.

MFM, Olukoya debunk rumour of jailing church pastors for nine years

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry (MFM) and its General Overseer, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, have denied allegations of framing or jailing former pastors Femi Jimoh and Caleb Oloruntele, or any other individuals, for nine years or any period.

Speaking to journalists at the headquarters church in Yaba, Olukoya addressed reports circulating on social media that called for his arrest and prosecution over the alleged police torture and incarceration of Pastor Femi Jimoh.

The allegations gained traction when Mr. Omoyele Sowore, convener of RevolutionNow, through the Sahara Reporters platform, recently called on the Nigeria Police Force to arrest and prosecute Dr. Olukoya for allegedly influencing Pastor Jimoh’s incarceration for nine years without trial.

In the report, Pastor Femi Jimoh who identified himself as a former MFM pastor had accused the church of being behind his incarceration for nine years without trial, over alleged armed robbery.

Speaking on behalf of the church and the General Overseer, the Chief Legal Adviser, Davidson Adejuwon, maintained that Mr Jimoh was only remanded and granted bail, adding that after they had been granted bail, the family refused to get two individuals to stand as their sureties for them to be released.

Citing some of the offences committed by Jimoh, the lawyer said: “While at the ministry of MFM as a pastor, Femi, had serially got himself in one offence or the other at every branch he was posted to serve. He was being redeployed back to the headquarters for internal discipline after which he would be posted out believing he had changed.

“As such a case of planned armed attack on credible intelligence against the church which could have led to the death of any member is not one that can be treated and handled internally by the church”.

“We have duty to report such to the law enforcement agency saddled with the responsibilities to investigate and deal with such issues. And that was exactly what we did as a responsible church”.

“All other events that transpired thereafter at the police station and during the trial were completely out of the control of the church because being a criminal matter, it became a case between the State government and the defendants”.

“MFM Church and its General Overseer, Dr. Olukoya remain committed to the welfare as well as spiritual and physical wellbeing and development of its members and humanity at large”.

“MFM is a responsible church that takes the welfare and security of all its members very seriously”.

“While we continue to show kindness and forgiveness to our erring staffs and rehabilitating such erring staff, MFM and its General Overseer will not use its fold to harbour or hide anyone with any criminal intent or motive capable to harm others,” he said.

One of the witnesses, The Senior Regional Overseer, MFM, Pastor Moses Oluwadare said: “Truly, he, Pastor Femi Jimoh worked with me at the MFM branch in Warri, Delta state but when I heard that he and others were involved in immorality in 2002, a panel was set up and we were advised to bring him to the MFM headquarters in Lagos and was taken for three weeks deliverance.

Meanwhile, the Chief Security Officer of the church, Mr. Michael Gbadamosi who was accused by Mr. Femi of having been seen in a herbalist’s house said, “I have never been to Ogbomoso to see any herbalist and that is my case”.

Adejuwon further explained: “It was absurd to imagine that a church as big as MFM would frame up two of its pastors just because of a claim that the church’s CSO was seen in a herbalist’s house.

One of the witnesses who was said to have worked with Pastor Femi Jimoh on his robbery activity, Mr. Jimoh Omojomolo, recounted his experience saying, “As a security personnel, and member of OPC, in Iwaya, Yaba, when Femi came to me that he had a job for me, I asked which type of job and he said, robbery. That, he has cool business for us and that we will be robbing MFM church of its offerings.

Then, Femi brought Aboki to me and told me that we would work together. Then, we took the matter to the DPO Sabo, Yaba who warned us to be careful with Femi and that we should play along. He said, if we refused to cooperate with Femi, he could take the job to another place and harm us. I was afraid.

“Then, I thought, I could help myself and my people by involving some other people and then, we went to the house of Dr. Olukoya’s father-in-law in Adeniran Ogunsanya, Surulere. It was the man who advised us to be careful and also go with the camera to any meeting we will be holding with Femi to continue our funding and meeting on the job, he wanted to hire us to do it for him.

“I called Femi on who was going to finance our operations, and he mentioned, Pastor Caleb who was a pastor at the MFM branch in Mowe Ibafo.

“We went alongside a policeman to see Pastor Caleb at Mowe Ibafo. When we came back to Yaba, we met Oga Saudi, a policeman who was briefed on the meeting with Pastor Caleb.

“When Caleb came to Iwaya, we then summoned a meeting of all the stakeholders and then, my team went to Olukoya’s father-in-law who gave us a camera to be able to record all the conversations at the meeting.

“There is nothing Femi will do to me. He should stop blackmailing anyone for the crime he committed. He cannot spoil my name that I have built for years”.

Another witness, Adebayo Fatai also known as Aboki buttressed Omojomlo’s claims that, Pastor Femi offered him and his friend a job, to rob MFM church and that he knows him very well.

However, efforts to contact Femi Jimoh or his lawyer proved aborted as the contacts were not connecting

Adeboye, Olukoya predict mixed messages for 2024

    • MFM Overseer: It’s a ‘year of open divine speed’
    • This year will bring opportunities, says RCCG’s GO
    • Nigeria not beyond redemption, says Catholic bishop
    • God will do great things this year, PFN tells Nigerians

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said things will get worse before they get better this year.

But the popular cleric urged Nigerians not to lose hope.

Adeboye stated this in his first message of the year at the Redemption City on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.

The cleric noted that many others had given prophecies for the new year, insisting that “what God says is not what you want to hear”.

He said it was important to give the prophecy so people could prepare ahead of events.

“When a person jumps from a storey building, the injury will not be as much as somebody who is pushed because the person who jumps will prepare for it.

“Everything God is saying rally around one little sentence which I heard from those who were dramatising earlier though they don’t know what they were saying. You can write this in capital letters: the wind is blowing,” Adeboye said.

In summarising his message for the new year, he added: “The wind is blowing. Include in your prayer that it will blow you good. As far as Nigeria is concerned, things will get worse before they get better. Mark my word. That is what ‘Daddy’ says. We are already complaining that things are worse.

“The good news is that the wind is already blowing. It’s going to get hotter before it cools down. That is what ‘Daddy’ told me. That is not what I would love to tell you.

“You know the elders have a proverb: if the wind blows, you will see the anus of the chicken. I think I better run away from prophecies concerning Nigeria.”

“Don’t lose hope. Sooner or later things will get better. Whether we like it or not, we will survive. Some people will start this year with nothing, but before the end of the year, they become significant.

“There will be many opportunities this year. Get ready for them. This is what they call insider information. You are hearing about it now before the opportunity begins to come.”

Also, the General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Worldwide, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, has said this year will be troublesome.

But he assured Nigerians that they would survive it with prayers and obedience to God’s commands.

In his New Year message during the cross-over service, the cleric said the new year would be hydra-headed with plenty to rejoice about and plenty to worry about.

“All the events of 2023 will dovetail into 2024 and, if you could survive 2023, you will survive 2024,” he said.

Olukoya tagged 2024 as the Year of Open Doors and Divine Speed, which he picked from Revelations 3:7–8 and Genesis  24:12.

According to him, 2024 is a troublesome year, but not as bad as 2023.

The MFM general overseer advised fellow Christians to increase their prayers in the new year.

“If you reduce the temperature of your prayer fire, you lose it. You should get your spiritual life on serious fire. Do an overkill with your prayers,” he said.

Olukoya warned Nigerians not to do trial and error in their activities but ask God for directions this year.

Also, the Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Most Rev. Alfred Adewale Martins, has urged the Federal Government and the nation’s political leaders to focus on economic policies that will help to rejig the economy and bring solace to the impoverished masses in the new year.

In his New Year message in Lagos by the church’s Director of Social Communications, Rev. Fr. Anthony Godono, the bishop recalled that 2023, being an election year with all its controversies, was characterised by untold hardship for millions of Nigerians due to the high cost of essential commodities.

He urged the government to make efforts at using the nation’s resources available to make policies that would alleviate the hardship among millions of Nigerians.

“The increase in the pump price of petroleum products and the drastic loss in the value of the naira, among other factors, have grossly affected the purchasing power of Nigerians.

“They are finding it difficult to keep their heads above water. This, along with the insecurity in the country, has led many of the best brains in the country to being sucked out of the country as they yield to the Japa syndrome.

“Those of us who remain are struggling to breathe, as they say. This is unacceptable.

“Government must listen to the cries of Nigerians,” he said.

Also, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has assured Nigerians that God would do great things in the country this year.

In a message by its National President, Bishop Wale Oke, the fellowship said: “…No matter what happened in the past, the Lord saw us through and now we are here. We should have a heart for gratitude and sincerely give thanks to God for His mercy and grace. Were it not for God’s mercy, we would have been like Sodom; we would have been as Gomorrah. We are thankful.

“The new year holds a promise of great opportunities: opportunities for a rebirth, opportunities for new things, opportunities for prosperity, and opportunities for greatness.

“God has said in His word: ‘Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing. Now, it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.’ Isaiah 43:18-19.

“May we, individually and as a nation, know and experience the new and great things that the Lord shall do in this new year, as we take advantage of the amazing opportunities that this year offers.”

  • Businessman charged with impersonating Adeboye, Olukoya, Joshua

The police in Lagos yesterday arraigned a 27-year-old businessman, Yusuf Atanda, charged with impersonating Pastor Enoch Adeboye and two other general overseers to defraud the public.

According to the police, Atanda created fake Facebook accounts of Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor D.K. Olukoya of Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry and Pastor T.B. Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, to dupe people.

The defendant, who lives at Okokomaiko, Lagos, is being tried for cyber-crime before Magistrate M.O. Tanimola in Ikeja.

Atanda, however, denied committing the offence, and was admitted to N100, 000 bail with two sureties in the like sum.

Tanimola said the sureties should be employed and show evidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

Prosecuting Inspector Aondohemba Koti alleged that the defendant committed the offence last October at Okokomaiko.

He added that the defendant used the names of the clerics on the Internet without their consent.

“Atanda created fake Facebook accounts of Pastors Adeboye, Olukoya and Joshua.

“He posed as the pastors and sent electronic messages to the public to deposit either N1, 000 or N2, 000 into a bank account to get N3, 000 or N5, 000 in four days.

“If they pay and it is four days, he will block the persons’ numbers so they will not be able to reach him anymore.

“Upon receipt of a petition from a complainant’s lawyer, the police tracked the defendant and he was arrested.

“The amount of money the defendant got from over 100 people was yet to be ascertained,” the prosecutor said.

The case was adjourned till April 17.

  • Adeboye, Oyedepo, Olukoya: Nigeria’ll come out stronger from challenges

NIGERIANS should look into the New Year with hope. The year, prominent church leaders said in their predictions, will be good for the country.

According to them, the nation will come out from the general elections unscathed and stronger, despite the challenges and fears being entertained.

The clerics – Bishop David Oyedepo, pastors Enoch Adeboye and Daniel Okukoya – spoke on Monday night during the cross-over services in their respective churches.

Dr. Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church Worldwide (aka Winners Chapel) Ota, declared that nothing will tamper with the peace of Nigeria in 2019.

He stressed that Nigeria shall see no more bloodshed or war in the New Year.

He said: “The prince of peace will continue to dominate in Nigeria and Africa. We shall not see setbacks anymore. Because of the saints of God in this country, Nigeria shall remain safe. The year 2019 shall be a year of humbling testimonies.”

At the cross-over service at the Prayer City on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Dr. Olukoya, who is the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), described 2019 as “a strange year characterised by strangeness.”

Describing 2019 as a year of “supernatural ease and double honour,” Olukoya declared that forces working against Nigeria shall be buried.

Leading a prayer session against forces of darkness in the land, Olukoya said: “Any power planning war in Nigeria, die now. Glory of Nigeria, do not slumber, arise and shine.

“Angelic carpenters, arise in your fury, break the horns of the wicked assigned to destroy Nigeria.

“Every utterance and pronouncement against Nigeria, scatter. Let the coven of terror become desolate and let no dwell in them.”

Pastor Adeboye, who is the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), gave his prophecies in “coded language.”

Speaking at the Redemption Camp, Kilometre 48, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Pastor Adeboye explained that he decided to give “coded” prophecies to forestall the possibility of politicians twisting his words.

He said that being an election year, whatever he said could be twisted by politicians to sway the unsuspecting members of the public.

According to him, “as the year was running to an end, as usual, I sought the face of the Lord for what the New Year was going to look like.

“But then, we have a little problem. The little problem is that in Nigeria, this is the election year, anything I say will be twisted by who? By the politicians.

“So, Lord I want to know what the New Year is going to be like and yet I am afraid that if you tell me, and I tell them, it will be twisted.”

As usual the “coded” messages were categorised into prophecies for the nation, individuals, the RCCG and international.

Adeboye quoted a passage in Lamentation to the effect that Nigeria won’t be consumed because of the Lord’s mercies.
