FULL LIST: PDP governors who defected to APC in 2025

With the 2027 general elections approaching, Nigeria’s political landscape is witnessing renewed realignments as some governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), deepening the crisis within the opposition party.

In 2025 alone, at least four sitting PDP governors dumped the party, citing internal instability, the need to align with the federal government, and what they described as the PDP’s declining influence.

    1. Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta State)

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, alongside his predecessor Ifeanyi Okowa and the entire PDP structure in the state, defected to the APC in April 2025.

Party leaders said remaining in the PDP was no longer viable, describing the party as a “sinking boat.”

    2. Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom State)

Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno joined the APC in June 2025, explaining that the decision followed extensive consultations.

He said aligning with the federal government would bring stability and long-term benefits to the state, stressing that the move was made “from a position of strength.”

    3. Peter Mbah (Enugu State)

In October, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah defected to the APC after months of consultations, saying the move was necessary to better position the state for development and collaboration with the centre.

He described President Bola Tinubu as “a partner in purpose” and said Enugu’s voice would now be better heard at the federal level.

    4. Douye Diri (Bayelsa State)

Bayelsa Governor Douye Diri announced his defection in October, blaming what he called the “terminal decline” of the PDP.

He said his decision was aimed at preventing Bayelsa from being dragged down by the party’s internal collapse, describing the move as part of a broader Ijaw political realignment.

    5. Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers State)

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara defected from the PDP to the APC in December, shortly after a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu.

He said the move was aimed at giving full support to the President and aligning Rivers State with the federal government for better cooperation and development.

PDP faction leaders hold talks with Obasanjo in Abeokuta

A faction of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) led by the chairman, Alhaji Taminu Turaki, on Saturday visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, over matters believed to be connected to the 2027 general elections.

Turaki and his entourage who stormed Obasanjo’s residence on Saturday about 11:40am entered a closed door meeting with the ex – president at sprawling Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) Abeokuta. They were joined by other chieftains of the party leaders.

Speaking with reporters shortly after the meeting, Turaki said the new leadership of the party had come to draw from the immense experience of Obasanjo, who was one of the pioneer leaders in the current democratic dispensation which started in 1999.

He noted that Chief Obasanjo as an elder statesman and who led the country between 1999 and 2007 on the platform of the PDP, used his administration to build enduring legacies and strong institutions, adding that he has helped to strengthen democratic growth in the country.

Turaki who emerged as the factional chairman of the PDP at the party’s recent convention in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, said that having just been given another opportunity to serve, he reckoned it appropriate to visit Obasanjo and tap from his wealth of wisdom, seek his blessings and support for the success of the PDP’s new leadership.

In his entourage to Obasanjo’s residence were the BOT Chairman and former Senate President, Sen Adolphus Wabara, the National Secretary and former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Taofeek Arapaja, two former governors of Niger and Plateau States, Alhaji Muazu Banginda Aliyu and Sen Jonah Jang respectively, Dr Wole Oluyede, the party’s governorship candidate for the forthcoming gubernatorial elections, among others. Turaki said the task ahead is to send the All Progressives Congress(APC) – led government packing in 2027 due to its incompetence and maladministration.

According to him, the frank talk the PDP leaders had with Obasanjo has further inspired them that the task ahead was not insurmountable.

He said: “As the newly elected PDP leadership during our recent congress at Ibadan, we came to introduce ourselves to our father, the former president under the PDP administration, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

“I didn’t come alone, the former Senate President and the BOT Chairman of our great Party, Sen Adolphus Wabara, is here likewise our National Secretary, the former deputy governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Taofeek Arapaja, is also here. Two former governors of  Niger and Plateau States, Alhaji Muazu Babangida Aliyu and Sen Jonah Jang, are also part of the entourage, among others.

“We came to thank the former president for his vision and contributions to strengthening our democracy and good governance while he was in power. We came to thank him for helping build strong institutions that the country enjoys to this day.

“We have also come to see the former president to draw inspiration from him as an oracle, we have come to get guidance, we have come to get advice, we have equally come to get critical support because if we must succeed in the gargantuan assignment that has been thrust upon our shoulders, then we must come to people like Chief Obasanjo who have the prerequisite experience.

“There is a proverb that says that a woman who started cooking before you must definitely have more broken pots. So we have come to see our father here in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, and we have spoken to Baba, and Baba too has spoken to us, and we are enriched.

“We have also realized more than ever before now that yes, the task before us may not be an easy one, but from the inspiration and guidance that we have received from Baba today, we are more than ready to go all the way and take PDP back to the seat of power come 2027.”

He stated that PDP is battle-ready for 2027, and this would be more obvious when the party claims victory in the coming gubernatorial elections in Ekiti and Osun States.

He stated that “PDP is battle-ready for 2027, and as our mark of readiness, we shall take over Ekiti State and then follow up with Osun State.

“By the time we win these two states, we shall leave no one in doubt that PDP, once again, is on the move, PDP is on the rise to chase out the APC government with all its incompetence and maladministration in 2027.”

PDP: We are reaching out, not begging governors to stay – Ememobong

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has clarified that it is not begging any of its governors or members to remain in the party but is engaging stakeholders in a bid to rebuild and strengthen the party.

National publicity secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, made the remarks in an interview on Channels Television, stating that the Tanimu Turaki-led leadership is reaching out to all party stakeholders, including governors, to foster unity and cohesion.

Ememobong said while Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, who defected to the Accord Party, was a “victim of circumstance,” Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, played a role in the events that led to his defection.

He emphasized that the party’s outreach is meant to engage every member without coercion.

He explained, “We are not begging anybody, but we are reaching out. The Turaki-led administration and the Governors’ Forum are engaging stakeholders. There is a fine line between what is illegal and what is immoral, but our aim is to rebuild, not to force anyone.”

On Governor Adeleke’s defection, Ememobong described it as circumstantial, noting that strong action by the party leadership could have prevented it. “Adeleke became a victim of circumstances arising from vicarious liabilities, which he cannot completely extricate himself from,” he said.

Regarding Rivers State Governor Wike, Ememobong said the crisis originated from internal disputes and prior agreements, stressing that the party had supported him throughout.

“Our frustration arises when blame is shifted instead of acknowledging where the crisis started. We have sympathies, but conscious amnesia about responsibility is unacceptable,” he added.

On claims that PDP governors failed to support legal efforts during Rivers’ state of emergency, Ememobong refuted the allegation, explaining that the party acted appropriately but could only intervene effectively with the consent of the governor involved.

He reiterated that PDP governors had always been proactive, but the cooperation of the principal actors was necessary for effective intervention, adding that the party continues to engage members and stakeholders in a spirit of dialogue and unity.

  • We feel nothing but pity for Gov. Fubara, says PDP

We feel nothing but pity for Gov. Fubara, says PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said on Tuesday that it feels nothing but pity for Rivers state governor, Siminalayi Fubara, saying the governor willingly travelled the path that took him to his present destination.

Reacting to the defection of the Rivers governor to the APC, National Publicity Secretary of the party, Comrade Ini Ememobong, said the PDP wished the governor well.

The party, however, said the constant defection of opposition members to the APC was shrinking the democratic space and putting democracy in danger, adding that Fubara cannot accuse anybody of abandoning him.

The statement reads, “The National Working Committee of our great party received the news of the formal defection of His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara the Governor of Rivers State from our Party to the ruling party. This news as pitiful as it is, is an exemplar of the old legal maxim Volenti non fit injuria, meaning “to one who is willing, no harm can be done”.

“Everyone who has followed the developments that culminated in this uneventful defection, will recall that the Governor willingly travelled the path that took him to this destination. Having done so voluntarily, he cannot turn around and accuse our party, or any other person or group of abandoning or not protecting him.

“Whilst a person who is at a crossroad of threats of existential proportion, will most likely suffer from temporary amnesia caused by trauma, the Governor should have nothing less than praise for our party, civil society organisations, and all Nigerians who freely stood up in his defence since this crisis started until he capitulated.

“It is our prayer that the Governor should not suffer from Stockholm Syndrome, where a victim falls in love with his captor. In all, despite these, we pity the Governor and wish him well.

“Furthermore, the Rivers situation is a testament to the dysfunctional nature of our democracy, where individuals are bigger and stronger than institutions and can use the apparatus of the Federal Government to obfuscate political life out of their opponents and bring them to their knees.

“Democracy is terribly threatened by acts of this kind, and all well-meaning people should unify in condemning this progressive decline of democratic norms.

“Finally, we reiterate to Nigerians and the global community that with the unrelenting disposition of the ruling party towards the attainment of a one party state, and the constriction of the political space, democracy is under severe attack in Nigeria. Everyone must rise together to oppose this ignoble trip toward electoral authoritarianism.”

PDP Convention: Court delists INEC from suit, adjourns till Jan 26

An Oyo State High Court in Ibadan, presided over by Justice Ladiran Akintola, has struck out the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from a suit challenging the eligibility of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to conduct its elective convention in the Oyo State capital.

The decision followed INEC’s objection, in which the Commission argued that the court lacked jurisdiction to hear the case, insisting that as a federal agency, it can only be sued before the Federal High Court.

The Commission subsequently prayed the court to strike out its name from the suit.

Justice Akintola upheld the objection and ruled that INEC be removed from the case on the grounds that it is not subject to the jurisdiction of a state high court.

However, he retained the remaining defendants, including the PDP, a party member, Folahan Malomo, and the chairman of the PDP zonal committee, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri. The acting national chairman of the party, Umar Damagun, also remains a defendant.

The matter has been adjourned to January 26, 2026, for further hearing.

Speaking after the ruling, counsel to the claimant, Musbau Adetunmbi (SAN), said INEC’s objection having been upheld, the case would now proceed against the remaining defendants.

Similarly, the PDP’s Oyo State legal adviser, Dapo Durosharan, confirmed that proceedings will continue on the adjourned date.

At its previous sitting on November 14, the court had reserved ruling on a preliminary objection challenging its jurisdiction in the suit filed by PDP member Folahan Adelabi regarding the party’s national convention held on November 15 and 16, 2025, in Ibadan.

The convention went ahead as directed by the court and produced the Dr. Kabiru Tanimu Turaki-led National Executive Committee.

  • Kwara govt, PDP trade words over $800m contract

Kwara govt, PDP trade words over $800m contract

Kwara State Government and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are trading words over $800 million contract allegedly awarded by the state government.

PDP had accused Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of awarding the multi-million Dollar contract secretly to his elder brother, Dr Alimi AbdulRazaq.

PDP quoted an APC chieftain and a former member of the House of Assembly, Iliasu Ibrahim “who on a live radio programme alleged that Governor AbdulRazaq had secretly awarded a contract worth $800 million to one of his blood brothers.”

But the state government described the allegation as false and reckless.

Communications Commissioner Bolanle Olukoju said: “The state government did not at any time award a contract to the elder brother of the governor Dr. Alimi AbdulRazaq.”

She added that a comment attributed to Iliasu Ibrahim that the governor awarded a contract worth $800m (N1.2trillion) was false, reckless, ill-conceived and intended to cause mischief and public dissatisfaction.

“At no time did the government of the state even award a contract worth $800m. We are, therefore, alarmed by the depth of recklessness and evil intent that made Ibrahim to claim in a radio programme that His Excellency awarded a contract or empowerment worth $800million to his elder brother. This is false, baseless and malicious,” the statement said.

“Throughout the radio programme, Alhaji Iliasu and his co-travellers did not mention the specific Federal Government’s project or programme that he claimed was awarded to Dr. Alimi AbdulRazaq.

The governor’s elder brother, Dr. Alimi, is an accomplished and respected senior lawyer and a Bencher. He is not a contractor.

“Besides, at no time did Kwara get a Federal Government project or empowerment worth $800m (N1.2trillion) — let alone award it to anyone in the state.”

But particularly concerning is how a radio station allowed its platform to peddle such disinformation without anyone on its management team cautioning the guest and the anchor.

“While Alhaji Iliasu has a history of queer public conducts long managed by everyone, repeatedly offering such persons a platform to cause mischief and incite public disaffection on a grander scale carries immeasurable risk for any reputable media platform and public peace.

“We concede the right of every citizen to freedom of expression. However, such freedom comes with corresponding responsibility and a duty of care to other citizens and the public.

“As democrats, we request the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to do justice in this matter as soon as possible — even as other private citizens maligned in the reckless radio programme are within their right to do a review of same.”

A statement by the PDP Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Adewara, said: “The $800million contract scandal claim is not at this time coming from the opposition, but from a core member of the governor’s political family and will not be appropriate if ignored.

“In fact, it raises serious ethical, legal and moral questions about how Kwara resources are being managed under the current administration.”

PDP will not die, Wike vows

…vows to protect party from defectors

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Sunday vowed that he and other founding members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will not allow entrants from other parties to undermine or destroy the party.

Speaking at the 104th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting at his official residence in Abuja, Wike criticised a faction of the party for violating court judgments by holding what he described as an “illegal convention.”

He stressed that the PDP must uphold judicial processes to regain public trust.

Wike accused the faction of ignoring two substantive Federal High Court judgments on the matter, yet proceeding with their convention and later approaching a State High Court to seek recognition.

Wike said, “You went to a State High Court to sue INEC, asking that the convention must take place, and you got an ex-parte order to override judgments of the Federal High Court. How do you disobey two final judgments and still claim leadership?”

He further stated that the same group returned to another court, seeking validation after failing to comply with lawful rulings.

“You had the convention without obeying the court, and now you are back asking a Federal High Court to recognize you. If INEC already recognizes you, what exactly are you going to court for?” he asked.

The FCT Minister warned that such actions could jeopardize the future of the party, stressing that leaders must not allow selfish interests to destroy the political platform that has existed since 1998.

“We must not allow our party to die. Leadership requires commitment and honesty, not propaganda. If we don’t respect our own laws, how do we earn respect from Nigerians?” Wike stated.

He called on party faithful to support lawful leadership and unite to rebuild the PDP in line with democratic principles and judicial integrity.

Meanwhile, the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the PDP has been urged to constitute a Caretaker Committee to guide the party forward as the tenure of the current National Working Committee expires tomorrow.

Addressing the 104th meeting of the party, the BoT Chairman, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, emphasized that the transition plan aligns with the party constitution and is meant to ensure administrative continuity, unity, and stability across all structures of the party.

Ohuabunwa said the move is one of several measures designed to consolidate internal reforms, restore confidence among members, and strengthen compliance with the rule of law.

The BoT also highlighted the ongoing establishment of caretaker leadership in certain states and zones — such as Anambra and the South-East — where congresses could not be held earlier, describing these efforts as necessary to prevent leadership gaps and enhance party organization.

PDP’s Segun Showunmi hails Umahi’s ‘giant strides’ on road infrastructure

…engages in 10-hour road project tour with minister

A prominent opposition figure and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Otunba Segun Showunmi, has applauded the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, for the significant progress recorded in transforming road infrastructure across the country.

Showunmi’s commendation followed a 10-hour project inspection tour he undertook with the Minister and a team of opposition party representatives, including Dr. Kanti Uthman of the ADC, Engr. Musa Zubaru of the AA, and Sunday Ayeni of the NNPP.

He praised the rehabilitation of the Keffi–Mararaba Road and the swift reconstruction of the Keffi Bridge, which recently collapsed.

In a social media post, the former spokesperson to ex–Vice President Atiku Abubakar also lauded Umahi’s extensive engineering expertise and his hands-on approach to supervising ongoing projects.

“Dave truly loves engineering. He understands construction deeply. He thrives in the field engaging contractors, giving instructions, verifying the quality of work, checking bills of quantities, and ensuring that agreements match execution.

“At the Maraba road, I was both shocked and delighted by the amount of work already done by a combination of local and foreign companies. I’ve often asked him, “Can’t our people build roads? Will they get the jobs too?” His answer is always the same: “As we inspect, you’ll see Nigerians who can match anyone in this field. The bidding and evaluation processes are competitive. And the value chain of construction supports millions of Nigerians, even when foreign contractors are involved.” He added that the President is just as concerned about developing local capacity”, he said.

He however criticized Nigerians for being good at raising complaints about the bad state of roads but unable to show appreciation when things are done right, querying what kind of people Nigerians are.

“When we reached the bridge, I was pleasantly surprised it was not only restored but strengthened, rebuilt better, and protected with gantries to prevent a recurrence. And all within such a short time. I asked His Excellency, “Professor in Practice” Dave Umahi how they accomplished this so fast, given that it was an unplanned emergency.

He explained: once the collapse was broadcast on TV and Nigerians began lamenting, the President issued a marching order, backed it with immediate funding, and the ministry scoped the work and mobilized a contractor. The 10-hour journey also took the team to Kaduna where Otunba Showunmi saw sites where works are actively going on, where street lighting and other facilities will also be put in place.

“From there, we headed toward Kaduna, stopping at critical points to observe the work. What struck me most was that at every single location, men and women were actively working. I heard in some areas Dave ordering ministry supervisors to temporarily relocate to boost oversight.

He urged contractors to take advantage of the good weather, double their workforce and equipment, and work day and night under floodlights.

He emphasized tree planting every 10 meters, the development of side corridors, and the provision of streetlights”.

Dave Umahi dirrected all praises to the President saying that he was just carrying out the presidents agenda of making Nigeria a better place.

  • 2027: PDP to constitute national caretaker committee this week

2027: PDP to constitute national caretaker committee this week

    • Loyalists of Wike, Sule Lamido, Saraki working on ending PDP crises

Former Senate President Bukola Saraki, former Jigawa State governor Sule Lamido, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesome Wike and some other concerned stakeholders are in the process of launching a fresh initiative to save the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) from total destruction, The Nation learnt yesterday.

The party is currently embroiled in a battle of attrition that has depleted its rank and file over the last one year.

Six  of the governors elected on its platform have already defected, five to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).  The sixth governor, Ademola Adeleke of Osun State is being courted by the Accord Party.

The infighting has also sparked a wave of expulsions and counter expulsions of influential members by the two factions fighting  for the soul of the party.

It was gathered yesterday that the crisis is threatening the chances of the party in next year’s off season governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states.

Saraki is said to be the main driver of  the initiative which is anchored on the constitution of a caretaker committee made of  representatives of the rival factions.

The caretaker committee, if and when constituted, will run the affairs of the party pending the conduct of a national convention acceptable to all sides.

Last month’s convention of the party in Ibadan which elected  a new national executive committee under the leadership of Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu is now a subject of litigation.

Saraki  first mooted the idea of a caretaker committee shortly before the Ibadan convention.

He declined  to attend the convention because, according to him,it would only compound the crisis.

Sources told The Nation that he has now revived the idea and is reaching out to as many party chieftains as possible.

Wike, whose group is contesting the legality of the Ibadan convention, and Lamido who got a court injunction to stop the convention, are understood to be open to the idea of a caretaker committee.

A meeting of concerned stakeholders is being planned possibly for this week to endorse the idea.

“Former Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki who has been the leading factor in efforts towards reconciliation suggested the formation of a National Caretaker Committee weeks ago and his loyalists as well as those working with FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike and former Jigawa state governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido have already gone far on the National Caretaker Committee project,” a source said.

“Efforts have reached a climax and with the expiration of the current PDP National Working Committee’s four-year tenure on December 10 and the legally invalid basis for the November 15 gathering in Ibadan, the only pragmatic way out is for PDP to have a National Caretaker Committee.”

“Contending sides in the leadership tussle are aware that the next ruling from the Federal High Court will most likely be based on the constitutional pre-convention  conditions that were never fulfilled before the so-called Ibadan convention and without the immediate constitution of a Caretaker Committee, the party may find itself in limbo,” a PDP legislator told The Nation in Abuja.

Another source said  loyalists of influential members of the party are moving fast towards actualising the agenda for a national caretaker committee which they see as the most effective strategy for ending the party’s crisis.

Shortly after the Ibadan convention, Ambassador Umar Damagum handed over the reins of leadership to Tanimu.

However, the website of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) checked by The Nation on Friday night still displayed  the names of Damagum and Senator Samuel Anyanwu as PDP National Chairman and National Secretary respectively.

PDP at risk of participation in Ekiti, Osun governorship elections

The uncertainties  created by the crisis in the party are now putting  at risk the participation of its candidates in  the June 20,2026 off-season governorship election in Ekiti State and that of August 8,2026 in Osun State.

The uncertainties were responsible for the recent exit of Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke who is now seeking reelection on the platform of another party. He is currently being wooed by the  Accord Party.

Under the guidelines for the elections, the various parties are required  to upload the names of their candidates for the Ekiti election by December 22 and those for Osun by February 9, 2026.

Access code for  uploading  the details  of  the governorship candidates on the INEC portal was due for collection on November  10 in respect of  Ekiti and December 15 in respect of  Osun governorship elections.

Only the  National Chairman and National Secretary of the parties are in possession of the code.

The section reads: “The National Chairman and National Secretary of political parties  as contained in the Commission’s records shall be issued access code for the electronic submission, withdrawal and substitution of names and particulars of their candidates as elected at the political party primaries monitored by the Commission”

The guidelines also say that “where there are conflicting requests from the National Chairman and National Secretary of a political party, the access code shall be issued to the National Chairman of the party.”

With Damagum and Anyanwu belonging to  different camps, the situation looks messy for the PDP.

INEC is keeping mute on the leadership crisis in the  party.

National Publicity Secretary of the  Turaki faction,  Ini Ememobong, declined to speak on the issue when contacted yesterday.

The Wike faction also  could not be reached for reaction  on the development.

The preliminary lists of candidates contesting the two elections are expected to be displayed by the Commission on the 29th December for Ekiti and 26th February, 2026 for Osun.

Turaki faction vows legal action against Rivers lawmakers

The Turaki faction yesterday threatened to  institute legal action against 17 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly who defected to the APC on Friday.

National Publicity Secretary of the faction,  Ini Ememobong accused  the lawmakers of  working against democratic progress of  the state.

Ememobong  called them political puppets and a clog in the wheels of democratic progress.

“They will go down in history as enemies of democracy and those who made mockery of the legislature,” he said.

“Consequently, the PDP will take legal steps to activate the provision of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria(1999 as amended) to recover the mandate gained under the banner of our party which these people have now ignobly and surreptitiously switched to another platform.

“We urge all party members in Rivers State to remain faithful and resolute, as efforts are underway to rebuild the party along the path of inclusiveness, fairness and equity.”

PDP vows legal action against Rivers lawmakers

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said it will institute legal action against members of the Rivers state House of Assembly who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday.

National Publicity Secretary of the party, Comrade Ini Ememobong said in a statement that the lawmakers have been working against democratic progress in the state since they resumed from the emergency rule.

The statement reads, “We have seen on various media platforms news of the re-defection of some members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, who, for a second time, announced their defection from our party.

“We recall that they had done so earlier and later recanted. These are people whom the world is aware are doing the bidding of their paymaster and demigod.

“The members of the Rivers state House of Assembly have by their actions since they assumed office, shown that they are political puppets and a clog in the wheels of democratic progress. They will go down in history as enemies of democracy and those who made mockery of the legislature.

“So the easiest way to describe their action is a defection from APC to APC.

“Consequently, the PDP will take legal steps to activate the provision of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria(1999 as amended) to recover the mandate gained under the benner of our party which these people have now ignobly and surreptitiously switched to another platform.

“We urge all party members in Rivers State to remain faithful and resolute, as efforts are underway to rebuild the party along the path of inclusiveness, fairness and equity.”
