    I slept on the floor in Phyno’s house before stardom – Zoro Swagbag

    Hip-hop artiste, Owoh Chimaobi Chrismathner, popularly known as Zoro Swagbag, has opened up on his early struggles as a rising star.

    He revealed that famous rapper, Phyno accommodated him at some point before hitting stardom.

    According to him, he was given an empty room that had no bed, so he slept on the floor before his hit song ‘Ogene’ gained traction.

    He disclosed this in the latest episode of the Zero Conditions podcast.

    Zoro said: “When my song ‘Ogene’ dropped, I was still in Phyno’s house. I was sleeping in an empty room that didn’t have a bed. I just had my shirt that I tied my dirty clothes on and used as a pillow and slept on the floor.

    “I loaned money to fund the video of ‘Ogene’. Flavour also supported me.”

    He said he left Phyno’s house in 2016 after someone stole the Penthauze boss’ money.

    Zoro said ‘Ogene’ blew up in the diaspora first before fans in Nigeria hooped on the trend.

    Popular indigenous rapper, Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike aka Phyno, has gifted his manager, Priest, a brand new Maserati.

    The Penthauze manager shared a video of his ‘new beast’ on his Instagram handle, appreciating Ezege for the early Christmas present.

    Absolutely enthralled by his blue sleek automobile estimated at N40 million, he thanked Phyno for ‘spoiling’ every team member and prayed for everlasting prosperity.

    Sharing a video of him taking a test drive in his exotic new car, Phyno’s manager wrote: “Christmas came early @phynofino steady f.c.king my mind up ….waaaaaaattttt.

    “I love my new beast…thanks for all you do for me and the team … more wealth and blessings forever.”

    This comes barely a few days after the rap star welcomed his first child and became a serial landlord.

    He recently made a massive investment in real estate following his acquisition of a 20-housing unit in one of the highbrow areas of Lagos.

    Rapper Chibuzor Azubuike aka Phynofino has become a serial landlord following his massive investment in real estate.

    Considered one of the finest indigenous rap stars, the first time dad spent a whopping sum to acquire a 20-housing units.

    This development comes barely after the singer announced the arrival of his baby with his mystery lover via his Instagram page where he shared a photo cradling the newborn.

    The news of his property acquisition was disclosed by real estate magnate, Kennedy Okonkwo who noted the entertainer purchased 20 units within their newly developed housing project.

    Alongside a photo of vast landed property, Okonkwo wrote: “It’s the Landlord Season. Congratulations to @phynofino for acquiring 20 units in Our Empire Terrace Project.”

    Fans and well-wishers are astonished the Phyno’s financial savviness as a result of his significant real estate investment seeing how they throng the post comment section to congratulate him.

    Singer Phyno has caused a buzz online as he splashes billions of naira on his latest property.

    The singer has spent magnitude of money on 20 units of a detached Terrace building.

    Real Estate Mogul, Ned Okonkwo, announced this on his official Instagram page as he congratulated the singer on the new property.

    He expressed gratitude to the hit maker for pulling the deal through as he noted how it’s Landlord season.

    The new property according to many is said to be worth N1.4 billion.

    Popular rapper Chibuzo Nelson Azubuike aka Phyno has welcomed a baby with a mystery partner.

    The singer made this known in a post via his Instagram page on Monday, stating he is now a father.

    The ‘Fada Fada’ crooner revealed he took some time off the music space to care for his new baby and work on new music.

    Phyno added it was a wholesome experience, and he is back to doing music.

    Sharing a photo of the baby in a warm embrace, the singer wrote: “I took some time off to be a Father and also work on new music / Album and it’s been a wholesome experience. Now it’s time to get back to what I do best”.

    Top Nigerian artistes  have thrilled fans at the Aspire Music Festival  held recently in Lagos.

    The music festival organised by Zenith Bank Plc at Harbour Point Event Center,  Lagos is part of the activities for the second edition of the bank’s lifestyle event, ‘Style by Zenith’. Among artistes that featured were:Olamide, Phyno, Flavour, Niniola, Rema and Mayorkun. Each  artiste came on stage with their A-game.

    Also on stage for rib-cracking jokes were music comedian Kenny Blaq, while celebrity hypeman and OAP, Do2dtun revved-up the crowd throughout the night event, giving them real value for their time.

    Kenny performed his signature comedy music skits. A notable skit from Kenny left many in awe when he performed his version of the late pop legend Michael Jackson’s smashing hit ‘Billie Jean’ featuring Zlatan. Another favourite of the crowd was when he sampled how an industrious gospel ‘Alaba’ musician can remix the popular ‘Zanku’ track to fit into his own genre. That performance elicited laughter from the crowd.

    Zenith Bank’s Aspire Music Festival is an annual lifestyle fair, one out of a series of events lined up to usher in ‘Style by Zenith 2.0’.

     

  • Phyno shuts down Enugu for hi-life fest semi-final

    Enugu born rapper, Phyno, thrilled audience to a show-stopping performance in Enugu at the Hi-Life Fest semi-final.

    Phyno had earlier met with the Hi-Life Fest quarterfinalists to offer them some motivation during their time in Lagos.

    The crowd, as well as the Hi-Life Fest semi-finalists, were thrilled to have the talented rapper in their midst. His performance featured some of his chart-topping tunes like ‘The Bag’ and ‘Alobam.’

    Following the performance, a guest in attendance who was seeing Phyno perform for the first time expressed her excitement.

    “I have heard a lot about his performance but this was better than everything I was told,” she said.

    “Phyno really shutdown the show today and I’m so glad to have witnessed it.”

    The Hi-Life Fest semi-finalists also put in an impressive shift and it was a tough decision to pick four out of the six contestants of the night.

    The four remaining contestants now have a 14-day window to prepare for the final in Onitsha, Anambra State. The grand finale of Hi-Life Fest will see the four remaining contestants go head to head, with the winner earning the grand sum of five million naira.

    Indigenous rappers Olamide popularly known as baddosneh and Phyno on Saturday gave an outstanding performances respectively with their hit songs at an exclusive party titled ‘2KINGS’ concert held at Cubana Club,Victoria Island.

    The concert which was organised by Monster Energy Drink is part of a 10-week plus promotion.

    The promo gave consumers of the brand a chance to either win airtime or to party with two of Nigeria’s most talented music artistes.

    Music stars Selebobo, Phyno, KCEE and Sunny Nneji have met offered the quarter-finalists of Hi-life Fest 2019 tips and advice on the music industry as part of a week-long mentorship program.

    First to visit the talents was Selebobo who produced Yemi Alade’s 2013 smash hit ‘Johnny’. He praised the acts and reminded them that this is the beginning of the journey. Next to visit was veteran highlife singer, Sunny Nneji. The contestants were thrilled to have the singer in their midst and the “Tolo Tolo” crooner shared some tips about how he has remained relevant in the industry and reminded them to always be humble and open to learning.

    Kcee also made a surprise appearance at the mentorship session, and the singer/songwriter reminisced on his time on Star Quest, while advising the Hi-Life Fest contestants to take full advantage of the opportunity they’ve been presented with.

    When indigenous rapper and Life Lager brand ambassador, Phyno, who hails from Enugu, arrived, he shared the story of his meteoric progress in the music industry.

    The contestants are set to be back in action on July 21 when the quarterfinals of HiLife Fest is hosted in the garden city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

    Popular candy brand, TomTom has signed rap act, Phyno and rising singer Teni as Brand Ambassadors.

    At the unveil ceremony on Monday in Lagos, the product’s company, Cadbury Nigeria Plc., said it wanted to connect further with their consumers through music. And the contract would involve the duo featuring in the TomTom’s brand and marketing campaigns, including advertisements and special appearances at its events.

    Both Teni and Phyno expressed excitement at working with Tom Tom. “I’m really excited to work with Tom Tom,” said the Uyo Meyo crooner who revealed that Tom Tom had always been part of lunch box as a child.

    Phyno also praised and thanked the brand, saying: “A session without Tom Tom is hell. Thank you Tom Tom for choosing me and choosing Teni to represent this brand.”
