  • Prince Harry and Meghan Markle married at Windsor

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been declared husband and wife, following a ceremony at Windsor Castle.

The couple exchanged vows and rings before the Queen and 600 guests at St George’s Chapel, the BBC reports.

Wearing a dress by British designer, Clare Waight Keller, Ms Markle was met by Prince Charles, who walked her down the aisle.

Following their marriage, the couple will be known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Among the guests were Oprah Winfrey, George and Amal Clooney, David and Victoria Beckham and Sir Elton John.

Ms Markle had 10 bridesmaids and pageboys – including Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

She wore Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara, loaned to her by the Queen.

Her sculpted white dress was designed by Ms Waight Keller for French fashion house Givenchy.

The look was completed with a veil measuring 5m and embroidered with the flowers of each country in the Commonwealth.

  • Prince Harry to marry Meghan Markle in glamorous ceremony

Britain’s Prince Harry weds United States former actress, Meghan Markle, on Saturday in a pomp-filled ceremony at Windsor Castle, a globally-watched event overshadowed in the build-up by her fractious family’s feuding.

The BBC reports that some 100,000 people are expected in Windsor, west of London, for the historic moment and street parties and afternoon teas are being held around the kingdom.

The service begins at noon (1100 GMT) in St George’s Chapel with Harry’s 92-year-old grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in attendance, alongside celebrities including Markle’s former co-stars from the hit U.S television drama series “Suits.”

The ceremony will be a traditional Church of England affair but with unusual twists including a gospel choir singing “Stand By Me” and a lively U.S pastor delivering the address.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, who will marry the couple, said they were “very sensible” and “self-possessed.”

“There’s profound affection between them which is wonderful and a deep understanding and mutual support,” he said.

“You see (it) in the way they respond to each other, caring for each other.”

Markle will initially walk down the aisle alone, but will then be joined by her future father-in-law Prince Charles, who will accompany her after her own father dropped out through ill health.

Speculation has raged about her wedding dress, with the New York Post newspaper suggesting British designer Stella McCartney had been asked to make it, while others tipped Ralph and Russo.

Following the service, 33-year-old Harry and Markle, 36, will ride through Windsor in an open-top carriage.

  • Why Harry may not need the queen’s consent for marriage

Following the arrival of prince William’s child,Louis, Prince Harry has moved down the line of succession to sixth place, thus meaning he will no longer have to ask the Queen for permission to marry – unlike Charles, William, George, Charlotte and Harry.

The Duke of York, who was born second in line, has moved to seventh and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie to eighth and ninth.

The first six people in the line of succession must have the Queen’s consent before they can marry on May 19, as set out by the Succession to the Crown Act 2013.

The act’s introduction also saw sex removed as a determining factor in the line of succession.

It has also been claimed that the royal baby has been born a commoner.

Royal historian Marlene Koenig told Town and Country: ‘It sounds complicated, but in the UK, the only people who are not commoners are the Sovereign and peers of the realm, (people with titles like) Duke, Marquess, Earl, Viscount, and Baron.’

It was always thought that William and Kate would go on to have three children.

Kate is one of three and had a happy home life with her sister, Pippa Matthews, and brother, James Middleton, and is close to both of her siblings.

But William may need to adjust to caring for a newborn once again.

  • Prince Harry appointed Commonwealth youth ambassador

Prince Harry has been appointed a Commonwealth youth ambassador, his highest-profile public role to date and a job that will see him working with his future wife encouraging young people to use the network of mostly former British colonies.

Queen Elizabeth awarded the position to her 33-year-old grandson who is fifth-in-line to the throne and has led a rebranding of the monarchy in a bid to make it more modern and relevant.

“I know that serving as ambassador to young people I’m going have to try to keep up with you all … my job will be to listen to you, my duty will be to ensure that your ideas, concerns, thoughts and hopes are heard,” Harry told the opening of a Commonwealth forum discussing youth issues.

The announcement coincides with the start of a summit of the Commonwealth Heads of Government in London this week, which will seek to boost the network at a time when Britain is negotiating its departure from the European Union.

“I’m also incredibly grateful that the woman that I am about to marry, Meghan, will be joining me in this work, in which she too is hugely excited to take part in,” the prince added, drawing applause and cheers from the audience.

Harry will marry American actress Meghan Markle on May 19.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace said more than 60 percent of the Commonwealth’s 2.4 billion people were under the age of 30.

The Queen is the head of the Commonwealth, but questions have been raised over whether her son and heir, Prince Charles, should succeed her.

“The Queen clearly is personally very committed to the Commonwealth but after her, maybe it’s a time to say ‘well actually the Commonwealth should decide who its own president is on a rotational basis’,” Jeremy Corbyn, leader of the opposition Labour Party, told the BBC.

Foreign minister Boris Johnson said it was “a matter for the 53 to decide”.

In his opening speech, Harry praised the queen’s role in the development of the Commonwealth, calling her “the ultimate source of guidance in all things Commonwealth,” citing a speech she made in 1947.

“She said that whether her life be long or short, it would be dedicated to the service of the people of the Commonwealth. All of us here today can be grateful that it is a long life the Queen is still enjoying,” he said.

Prince Harry and fiancee Meghan get wedding music tips

Britain’s Prince Harry and his U.S. fiancee Meghan Markle were given some street-level tips for their wedding music as they visited a pioneering radio station in south London.

Harry, fifth-in-line to the throne, and actress Markle, best known for the TV legal drama “Suits”, announced their engagement in November, with the wedding set for May at Queen Elizabeth’s Windsor Castle home to the west of London.

On their second official royal outing together on Tuesday, the couple were greeted by large crowds when they visited the Reprezent radio station in Brixton which was set up in 2008 as part of a response to a rise in knife crime among young people.

The station trains hundreds of young people each year in media and employment skills. It offers training in topics ranging from audio and radio production and editing to communication skills and work experience.

It also runs programs supporting youngsters with specific issues like mental health challenges, a cause dear to Harry’s heart.
Presenter Gloria Beyi, 17, said the couple showed a keen interest in the station’s music.

”The main thing I observed is they go quite well together,“ she told Reuters. ”This is genuine – this is real stuff. Having both of them in one room trying to talk to you and having interest in the station, how it works, the relationship between everyone, it’s just so amazing.”

Asked about possible wedding music recommendations, she said: “A little bit of house, a little bit of hip-hop, cos Harry did say that he is interested in hip-hop and house.

“So, that mixed together at a wedding? Then you’re pretty good. Those two genres if they’re there, you’re pretty sorted for your wedding.”

Harry, 33, and Markle, 36, will marry at Windsor’s St George’s Chapel on May 19.

Harry and Meghan to wed May 19

Britain’s Prince Harry and his American fiancée, Meghan Markle, will marry on Saturday May 19, 2018, his office Kensington Palace said on Friday.

Queen Elizabeth’s grandson, fifth-in-line to the throne, and Markle, who stars in the United States TV legal drama “Suits,” announced their engagement in November with the marriage to take place in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

“His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle will marry on May 19, 2018,” Reuters quoted Kensington Palace as saying in a statement.

The couple said they had chosen to marry in Windsor, west of London, because it was “a special place for them,” having spent time there regularly since they met in July 2016 after being introduced through a mutual friend.

Harry’s 91-year-old grandmother, Elizabeth, will attend the ceremony.

However, the date they have chosen clashes with English soccer’s FA Cup Final which is usually attended by Harry’s elder brother, Prince William, who, as President of the Football Association, awards the trophy to the winners.

“The couple of course want the day to be a special, celebratory moment for their friends and family,” Harry’s Communications Secretary, Jason Knauf, said in November.

“They also want the day to be shaped so as to allow members of the public to feel part of the celebrations too and are currently working through ideas for how this might be achieved.”

The wedding is likely to attract huge attention across the world, as did the marriage of William to his wife Kate in 2011 which was watched by an estimated two billion people.

Markle, 36, who attended a Catholic school as a child but identifies as a Protestant, will be baptised and confirmed into the Church of England before the wedding.

She intends to become a British citizen, though she will retain her U.S. citizenship while she goes through the process.

Harry to dump Gunners FA cup final for wedding

Prince Harry’s  much awaited wedding has been fixed for May 19 and is set to clash with the FA Cup final where Arsenal hopefully hopes to be a contender

It’s the only trophy Arsenal have won since 2004, but Gunners fan Prince Harry won’t be at Wembley on May 19, even if Arsene Wenger’s holders reach another FA Cup final.

The north London side upset Premier League champions Chelsea 2-1 at the national stadium last term to capture a record 13th FA Cup and their third in the last four seasons.

Arsenal will face Nottingham Forest in the third round next month, and supporters can harbour realistic ambitions of watching their team, who have also progressed to the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup, attempt to reach another decider next year in one of world football’s oldest competitions.

Harry, though, will not be in attendance, regardless of which teams are involved.

And the Football Association could also be hard pressed to find a member of the Royal Family to present the trophy to the winners, given the youngest son of Prince Charles will marry American actress Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle on the same day as the FA Cup final.

His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle will marry on 19th May 2018.

Today’s announcement follows earlier confirmation of the month of the wedding and its location at St George’s Chapel,

Harry’s brother William, the second in line to the throne, will also have to excuse himself from his duties as president of the FA, and hope his team Aston Villa – who lost to the Gunners in the final of the 2014-15 competition – do not mount an unlikely run to the decider.
