    QNET to back law- enforcement agencies

    A direct selling firm, QNET, yesterday pledged to support law-enforcement agencies in the country to tackle criminalities.

    The company, in a statement yesterday, said it has become aware of certain individuals who claim to be its Independent Representatives (IRs) and have been apprehended by regulatory authorities.

    These individuals, immigrants from Cameroon and Cote d’Ivoire and lacking valid travel documents, were arrested by the Nigerian Police Force, Ogun State Command, and handed over to the state’s Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

    Additionally, the NIS, Benue Command deported 18 Cameroonian irregular immigrants residing in Makurdi, Benue State, on another occasion.

    “We are deeply troubled by the recent developments involving allegations of fraudulent activities and illegal migration. We want to clarify that our company has no involvement in these reported incidents and firmly disassociates itself from any illegal practices.

    “We pledge to work with the authorities to bring the perpetrators to book. We are also investigating these matters internally and will take disciplinary action against any IR implicated in them.

Our Direct Selling Disinformation Centre (DSDC) and previous media campaigns, such as the Public Announcement Campaign and Mama Campaign in Ghana, are evidence of our commitment to this cause. Currently, we are running the Say NO! Awareness Campaign in Nigeria, Senegal, and Burkina Faso to educate communities about the dangers of fake job offers used by fraudsters to lure people into human trafficking. Additionally, we have an ongoing Social Awareness Campaign which seeks to equip Nigerians with valuable information and resources to protect them from potential scams. These activities underscore QNET’s steadfast dedication to ethical business conduct, demonstrating the company’s fundamental principles of transparency, integrity, and empowering consumers.

    According to the company, its choice of venue, the Setia SPICE Convention Centre in Penang, is the world’s first hybrid solar-powered convention centre and is also Green Building Index certified.     QNET cracks down on scammers in Nigeria, Ghana, others

    A direct selling firm, QNET, said it has started cracking down on scammers in Nigeria and other countries in sub-Saharan Africa including Ghana, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, Liberia, Cameroon, Mali, Guinea, Benin, Togo, and others.

    QNET’s Regional General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, Biram Fall, said the company has unveiled new measures to safeguard the integrity of the direct selling business model.

    He said: “To enhance communication with our stakeholders in sub-Saharan African markets, including customers, independent representatives, and distributors, QNET has introduced the WhatsApp Compliance Hotline exclusively for this region.

    “The hotline number is now operational, enabling individuals to easily reach out with questions or concerns regarding QNET’s policies and procedures or to report any irregularities. Our dedication to transparency and the fight against scammers remains steadfast, and we continue to collaborate with security and judicial agencies across the region to deter fraudulent activities.”

    As a demonstration of its dedication to fighting scammers, he said the company launched a compliance hotline on WhatsApp (+233256630005) for its operations.

    According to him, transparency is of paramount importance in the direct selling industry, especially in emerging economies where QNET continues to gain traction.

    He said the company actively encourages strict adherence to its Code of Conduct and Compliance Policies and Procedures, aiming to set and maintain high industry standards.

    In a concerted effort to combat policy violations and discourage unethical practices, QNET has taken robust disciplinary actions against those found in breach.

    Over the past three years, QNET has terminated numerous independent representatives (IRs) across 30 countries for non-compliance, policy violations, and unethical behaviour.

    The legal representatives of QNET have aided authorities from nine African nations in submitting complaints against more than 50 IRs. These actions underscore QNET’s unwavering commitment to upholding the integrity of the direct selling industry.
