    Reus tipping Dortmund rally

    Marco Reus remains confident Borussia Dortmund can retain the Bundesliga despite surrendering a nine-point deficit to Bayern Munich.

    The 23-year-old, who starred in Germany’s 6-1 hammering of Republic of Ireland in World Cup

    qualifying on Friday, has warned last year’s Champions league finalists that Dortmund are not going to give up.

    The German international told Welt am Sonntag: “We are still positive about our chances this season. This time last year we had 10 points, and now we have 12. We know that we can play better, and it is only a matter of time before we are playing to our potential.

    “We need to keep working hard and focus on winning our next games against Manchester City and Hannover.”

    Reus has seen his involvement with the German national team increase, and the attacker netted twice in Germany’s victory against the Irish.

    The former Gladbach player said: “I think my two goals against Ireland prove I have taken

    another step. I know that if I play well and work hard the coach will reward me.”

    THE National Chairman of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Chief Bisi Akande, the National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the party’s Presidential candidate in the 2011 election, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, are to attend the party’s Redemption Rally.

    According to Akeredolu Campaign Organisation (ACO), the rally is to be attended by ACN governors-Comrade Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (Lagos), Senator Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Senator Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo) and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola (Osun).

    A statement by Mr. Idowu Ajanaku, Director of Media, Publicity and Strategy of ACO, the redemption rally is to hold tomorrow (Monday 15, October) at the Democracy Park Akure by 9.am. He said “the rally will afford the people of Ondo State the opportunity to hear again the plan of ACN to transform Ondo state if the flag berarer of the party in the October 20 election, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), is elected governor.”

    He added “For us at ACO, we know that Akeredolu is a man of proven integrity and pedigree who can be trusted by the people of Ondo State.”

    Tinubu, other ACN leaders storm Akoko for rally

    The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu , National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande and other leaders will storm Ondo State today for the beginning of the state-wide mega rallies at Ikare-Akoko in the Ondo North Senatorial District.

    The governorship candidate, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), will unfold his manifestos for the 18 local governments to the electorate.

    He will be accompanied by his running mate, Dr. Paul Akintelure, whose choice has resulted in the increase in the number of ACN supporters in the Ondo South Senatorial District.

    Also expected at the rally are Southwest governors such as Babatunde Raji Fashola (Lagos), Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), and Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti); National Assembly members, leaders, elders and well wishers across the country.

    Vice-President Namadi Sambo will also begin the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaigns in Akure today, where the Zonal Leader, Mr. Segun Oni, will raise up the hand of the governorship candidate, Mr. Olusola Oke.
