    Late Sammie Okposo’s wife remembers husband one year after death

    Ozy Okposo, the wife of the late gospel singer Sammie Okposo, is commemorating the first year since the demise of her husband.

    In an Instagram post, she pledged a lifelong commitment to celebrate and cherish the memories they created together.

    Reflecting on the year without him, she expressed gratitude for the sustaining grace of God.

    “Sammie!!! Dim oma!!!! hmmmmm. It’s been a whole year without you here, my love, I’m doing better, family and friends have been amazing too, and His grace is working for me.

    I will always celebrate and cherish the memories we made together.

    She wrote: “I celebrate you today and always, I celebrate the gift that you were to me, the world, and the body of Christ. Keep resting, my King!,

    “Dim oma!, the Legend!, the Maestro!!! I love you, Dim Oma. It is well with my soul…”

    Sammie Okposo’s daughter, lover set tie the knot November

    Late gospel singer, Sammie Okposo’s daughter, Alula, is set to walk down the aisle with the love of her life. 

    Alula announced this on her Instagram page on Thursday, October 5. 

    She posted their pre-wedding photo, saying they would tie the knot on November 25, 2023.

    Sammie Okposo, who passed away in November 2022, had Alula with Gloria Ibru many years before meeting his wife, Ozioma.

    Alula wrote: “Good morning people, I come bearing great news. I’m getting married, God has been so faithful this past year, you can’t even understand. Please save the date. It is November 25. God bless.”

    FEW weeks after his SOPP concert, Sammie Okposo is gearing up for another event taking place  at the National Theatre, Accra, Ghana on January 30.

    The gospel singer, alongside other artistes, will be on stage to perform with Diana Hamilton at the annual ‘Diana Hamilton’s Experience Concert’.

    The excited artiste wrote on his wall: “Go get your tickets see flyer for more details, don’t miss this life changing experience, come ready to praise and dance.”

    The multi award-winning gospel songstress, Diana Hamilton, launched her latest album ‘Yehowah’ in London on the 5th of September 2015 at the Fountain Gate Tabernacle Auditorium, Dagenham. During one of her concerts, for the time according to report will be thrilling her fans in Ghana, where she started from.

    “Counting down to the ‘Experience with Diana Hamilton GH 2016’” said Hamilton.

    “We can now confirm that these great worship leaders Sammie Okposo (Nigeria) Joe Mettle and Uncle Ato will be joining us on the 30th of January 2016 at the National Theatre in Accra. The team and I are excited about this. We will be confirming other names soon.”

    Other gospel musicians expected at the concert are Uncle Ato from Ghana and Joe Mettle.

    Sammie Okposo takes SOPP to UK

    Popular Nigerian gospel artiste Sammi Okposo seems set to storm London for the 2016 edition of the Sammie Okposo Praise Party, SOPP.

    The show which holds at Lighthouse, 254-270 Camberwell Road, London by 7pm on Saturday, January 9, 2016 is expected to present gospel music in an edifying atmosphere.

    Okposo, the ‘Wellu Wellu’ master, in a youtube video confirmed his readiness to host the event and also urged fans to bring ‘their white handkerchiefs.’ He was joined by Nikki Laoye, Tim Godfrey, Enkay and Dayo Bello in the promotional video of the event.

    Some of the artistes billed to perform at the event include Eben, Noel Robinson, Andrew Bello, Diana Hamilton and Nikky Brown.

    Comedian Akpororo is also expected to bring some laughter to the event.

    SOPP, an initiative of Sammie Okposo, is a concert for worship, praise, laughter and family friendly fun.

    The Experience 10 holds in style

    As the stage is set for the Season 10 of the classiest praise concert, The Experience in Lagos, there is a new twist to the international praise concert.

    Unlike the previous nine years of the concert where it is staged only on the first Friday of December, this edition is scheduled to hold on three different days to allow more people have the experience with less hassle.

    The unusual praise concert usually attracts international gospels artists like Don Moen, Donnie McClurkin, Mary Mary, Fred Hammond and many others.

    For the Season 10, the host church, House on The Rock, presided over by Pastor Paul Adefarasin has invited more gospel megastars including the consistent Don Moen then Fred Hammond, Frank Edwards, Donnie McClurkin, Hezekiah Walker, Kim Burrell, Jessica Reedy, Sonnie Badu, Chioma Jesus, Nathaniel Bassey, Sammie Okposo, Midnight Crew, Micah Stampley, Julius Nglass and the Lagos City Chorale amongst others.

    Meanwhile, artists like Hezekiah Walker, Jessica Reedy and Kim Burrell are visiting Nigeria for the first time for the purpose of ministering at The Experience.

    The new artists are billed to end the grand finale of a 10 week tour across 50 cities in the United States of America in the globally acclaimed Festival of Praise, a star studded gospel music outing, at The Experience.Experience 2

    To minister in words include the Senior Pastor and convener of the unusual praise concert in Lagos, Pastor Adefarasin and other anointed ministers of God.

    The event takes place tonight, Friday 4th December 2015 at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos and continues on Saturday 12 and Tuesday 15 of December respectively.

    ‘SAMMIE OKPOSO PRAISE PARTY CONCERT’ MOVES TO ENUGU

    THE ‘Sammie Okposo Praise Party Concert’ will be moving with it artistes bill to perform to Enugu on Sunday November 8,  2015 at the House on the Rock Word House, Nkpokiti, opposite Old Path Church, Independence Lay Out, Enugu.

    The event, which has become a brand concert for gospel artistes, who through their songs spread the gospel, will have the likes of: Nikki Laoye, Henrisoul, Enkay, Chika 100%, Mercy Chinwo, MC Abbey, among others on stage.

    The Sammie Okposo Praise Concert is an annual event and have been held in different cities across Nigeria this year.

    The award winning gospel act, in August on his Instagram announced that the SOPP tour, which was held in the United States two years ago, will be returning this year.

    Although he has not revealed all the details of the concert, it is reported that it is likely some of these artistes on the bill would be crossing borders with him overseas.

    He has been touring the whole of Nigeria namely: Port Harcourt, Abuja, Benin, amongst others and has had Nikki Laoye, Pita, Henrisoul, Tim Godfrey, Efe Nathan and more on the train.

    The Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, is set to play host to Sammie Okposo, one of Nigeria’s leading gospel musicians and SABC African Gospel Artiste of the year as his annual tour, Sammie Okposo Praise Party (SOPP) comes to town. Having held sold out concerts in cities like Lagos, Benin, Port-Harcourt and Umuahia, it is now the turn of Abuja residents to witness the ground-breaking concert scheduled for July 12, 2015 at the Transforming Church, Abuja.

    The concert will also feature other top gospel artistes and talented comedians to thrill guests and attendees.

    The 2015 edition of the SOPP Global Tour started in Lagos on May 1at the Grace Gardens Events Centre with a large turn-out of artistes and music lovers across the state. The train later moved to Benin on May 30. The Benin gig which took place at CGMI Unusual Conference Centre, featured talented gospel artistes like Buchi, Eben, Efe Nathan, Tim Godfrey, Victor Atenega, Nikki Laoye, Anny, among others.

    The tour was in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, on June 14, 2015 at the Kings Assembly and it featured Nikki Laoye, Nosa, Tim Godfrey, Nathan, Afy Douglas, PreyeOdede, Mercy Chinwo, Dan D Humorous and many others. It was the turn of Umuahia, the Abia State capital to experience mind blowing live performances concert on June 21, 2015. The inspiring and amazing concert which held at the Stream of Joy International was particularly spectacular as the main auditorium and the overflows couldn’t contain the fans and music lovers that came out for the concert.

    The SOPP Global Tour is currently one of the most talked about concerts among the gospel community and the organisers have kick-started plans for the annual Europe and America SOPP Global Tour.

    DJ Jimmy Jatt, Sammie Okposo enroll with NEIHIS

    Two prominent Nigerian entertainment industry practitioners, DJ Jimmy Jatt and gospel artiste Sammie Okposo have enrolled on the Nigerian Entertainment Industry Health Insurance Scheme (NEIHIS).

    Aside their enrollment, both of them, who got their NEIHIS ID cards and other access documents, have volunteered to be goodwill ambassadors of the scheme. They also commended the organisers for ensuring a well-structured health care scheme for the entertainment industry.

    “One might not really know the essence of what is happening now in our industry until one is in dire need of these services especially under emergency situations,” said DJ Jimmy Jatt.

    “What is happening now is something that should have happened a long time ago but the most important thing is that it’s finally a reality. I enjoin all other entertainment practitioners across Nigeria to also make this informed decision.”

    Also speaking during his presentation, Sammie Okposo said the industry is finally on the part of honour. “The Era of begging in our industry seems to have come to an end. Health is wealth and we as entertainers have to do what it takes to safeguard our health. I’m proud to be on the NEIHIS scheme and enjoin others in our industry to do the same.”

    NEIHIS is a private scheme designed for the entertainment industry and endorsed by the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). It’s an initiative of the Nigerian Entertainment Industry Lecture Series (NEILS).
