  • SHINA PELLER plans big for Aquila Records’ third anniversary

Come July 15, Aquila Records is set to celebrate its third anniversary with a bang.

Already, plans are in the final stage to hold an event at the Balmoral Event Center to appreciate Nigerian music industry pathfinders. And the Aquila Records team will be releasing an album of self-composed songs featuring all their artistes as well as having a few collaboration from other acts as well.Aside the Aquila Acts that would be performing, stars like Olamide, Burna Boy, Phyno, Slim case, 2Baba and Tiwa Savage are expected to grace the stage.

Speaking in Lagos, CEO of Aquila Records, Shina Peller, said: “I started the Label about three years ago. I saw it a means to be able to give the young and talented Nigerians an opportunity to develop their talents and show them to the world. A lot of Nigerians are talented, but they don’t have that platform. If you look at something about Aquila Records, you’ll discover that all the artistes are fresh. They are artistes that I discovered myself and it’s not easy to actually groom an artiste from zero to becoming a superstar. But with all we’ve had in three years, I give thanks to God Almighty who has helped us achieve all we’ve been able to achieve so far.”

  • Shina Peller under pressure

    Shina Peller under pressure

Boss of popular Lagos hangout C, Shina Peller, is getting to know the truth in the saying that there is no hiding place for a gold fish, especially a wealthy gold fish that is also loved by the people. He is currently engaged in a game of cat and mouse with members of his constituency in Oyo State, who have been on his heels to contest for an elective office.

The first son of the late popular ventriloquist, Professor Peller, Shina is feeling serious heat from his people in Iseyin, Oyo State. The Aquila Records boss has been told in no uncertain terms that his people are banking on him to bring further glory to their community by running for and capturing an elective post.

The thinking seems to be that Shina, who is much loved on account of his numerous initiatives in Iseyin, would do more if he had access to the huge resources that come with elective office. It remains to be seen if the popular king of night life will buckle under the pressure and succumb to his people’s wish.

    Shina Peller eyes politics

Shina Peller, owner of the famous Quilox Night Club, and son of the late magician, Professor Peller who is aspiring for a political office in the 2019 elections, has given reason for his new ambition.

Peller cited ‘level of decadence in the country’ as one of the reasons he is now giving politics a chance.

He said on his Instagram page: “As we all know, election season in Nigeria is fast approaching and political gladiators are already building their war chests but the average young Nigerian is bothered less. It’s almost like a feeling of powerlessness and despair, most believe the processes have already been predetermined by the powers that be so why bother wasting time to get a voters card talk less of actually voting. The common notion is that the candidate with the largest war chest wins and we have heard many tales of people selling their votes for less than a dollar and a bag of chips.

“One thing is certain, though nobody is happy with the state of Nigeria today, most people who know me can vouch for the fact that I have never been interested in politics and I have never had an eye for it, but with the level of decadence in the country today I have been forced to change my mind.”

The Lagos socialite believes the time is now to take responsibility and create the change that the citizens seek.

Continuing, he said: “While I cannot say for certain if I will yield to the tremendous pressure on me to run for elective office from my constituency, one thing I can say for certain is I will be actively involved in the political process going forward, I will no longer sit back and watch things go bad. I enjoin all young people to do the same, please register to vote, join a political party, run for office, be the change you seek, it’s time to stop ranting on social media and take positive actions. The young people in Nigeria are the most powerful single block in the country today however the old guard tries to divide us along ethnic, religious and cultural lines, but once we unite nobody can stop us. Let’s start changing Nigeria together today.”

Last week, the Aquila Records boss took his love and care to a whole new level when he threw a classy birthday shindig for his mother as she clocked 70. The high octane event held at the Gaso Event Centre in Ibadan on December 16 and overflowed with the crème de la crème of high society.

FOR the boss of Club Quilox, Shina Peller, honour is the final seasoning for a well-cooked broth. The son of Prof Peller, the famed illusionist regarded as the greatest magician to come out of Africa, Shina has been charting his own path even though he has learned a lot from his famed father and lived by his example.

Seeing a yawning need for night fun in metropolitan Lagos, he established Club Quilox many moons ago and has since then been honoured with the well-earned moniker of ‘King of Nightlife’. Not resting on his laurels, the head honcho of Aquila Group of Companies spread his tentacles into other areas like music and hospitality. More importantly, he has been stretching out his arm in aid to people who are in need of one thing or the other. His philanthropic spirit came to the fore recently when he sponsored a football competition for the youth in Ogun State in honour of his late father.

In recognition of the foregoing, he and his wife were recently surprised by the traditional ruler of Iseyin, Oyo State who conferred him with the title of Aare Gbobaniyi of Iseyin while his wife was installed as the Yeye Aare Gbobaniyi.

The singer performed alongside other popular acts like Sound Sultan, Base One, and Que Peller during the opening ceremony of Peller Unity Cup sponsored by Chairman Aquila Group of Companies, Shina Peller to mark the 20th remembrance of his late father, Africa’s foremost magician late Professor Moshood Abiola Peller.

Davido, who made yet another impressive appearance on stage as usual, didn’t fail to keep the fans singing along with him.

The excited crowd, obviously thrilled by performances from the If crooner, cheered on as he performed hit after hit at the event.

Speaking with The Nation on the competition which has a total of 300 players from 20 teams in 10 Local Government Areas of the state competing for one trophy, the popular socialite and acclaimed King of night life, Shina Peller said his gesture is not politically motivated as he is only keen at bringing football development to the youths of Oyo State through the 20 year remembrance of his late father.

“The main objective for this event is to promote unit among our diverse community because they say charity begins at home. I’ve been looking forward to this opportunity to be able to make something up for my people here and I can assure people of Oke-Ogun that they will be seeing me more because I am committed to this cause. • Shina Peller, Oritsefemi sheathe sword

Like two exhausted boxers who have reached a stalemate after hours of a grueling contest, popular musician, Majemite Ekele aka Oritsefemi and Club Quilox owner, Shina Peller, have finally thrown down their gloves and called a truce. Three months on from the highly publicised row between the duo, the clouds of rancour have finally made way for the bright rays of amity.

It will be recalled that Oritsefemi and Shina Peller were involved in a bitter war of words following an incident in November 2016, where the ‘Double Wahala’ crooner injured a Club Quilox bouncer on the head in the heat of a disagreement. The two parties released statements blaming each other for the episode and demanding reparations.

Eventually, after a few days of hot-blooded vituperations, the MSN Gang Label artiste realised that he had bitten more than he could chew and swiftly released a statement on instagram apologising for his part in the sordid episode and asking for forgiveness and promising to compensate the injured bouncer. At the time, it wasn’t clear whether his apology had been accepted. But, going by what transpired at the Quilox Ultra Pool Party on February 26, 2017, Oritsefemi and Shina Peller have well and truly buried the hatchet. The duo was spotted laughing and joking with each other like longtime friends meeting for the first time in a while.

    Royal honour for Shina Peller

Like a spacecraft on inexorable journey to the sun, Shina Peller’s star has been shining brighter and brighter on the social scene. But unlike the spacecraft in danger of being melted by the fiery rays of the sun, Shina is in no danger of being burnt by his growing fame.

From his relatively humble beginnings as the unremarkable son of a remarkable man, Shina Peller has over the years worked quietly to carve a niche for himself. He has slowly turned his Club Quilox into one of the biggest entertainment spots in the country.

It is little surprise then that the accolades have been pouring into his laps like water from a never-drying tap. The latest of such accolades is the chieftaincy title about to be conferred on him by the royal father of Igbobi-Sabe community in Yaba, Lagos. Come December 18, Oba Owolabi Adeyemi Adeshina Adeniyi, will confer on Peller the chieftaincy title of Mayegun of Igbobi-Sabe.

Not one to miss out when one of their own is being honoured, celebrities are beside themselves with excitement over the development. Led by Otunba Lekan Osifeso, Chairman Lekai Construction Company, they are planning to storm Oba Adeniyi’s palace in droves for the event.

    Shina Peller shuns father’s shadow

Greatness is generally seen as a preserve of the wise. Heroes are acclaimed great because they do great deeds and the wise achieve greatness because instead of trying to be as great as heroes, they possess the wisdom to do something different. If the late professor Abiola Peller who dazzled the world with his supernatural feats was a hero, his son, Shina Peller, is great because he employs wisdom.

Having grown up witnessing his father, a renowned magician, perform incredible feats, Shina was wise enough to know that he would never be able to rise above his father’s shadow unless he left the world of tricks and wonders and launched himself into a new field. Thus, the man known as ‘the one with the magical hands’ began his journey to self-made influence. Scorning his father’s fame as a conjurer, Shina Peller delved into the energy and entertainment industries.

The light-complexioned head honcho of Aquila Oil & Gas has ditched trick-making for money-making. Only recently, he floated Quilox, a night club restaurant and all-round entertainment spot on Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, Victoria Island, Lagos. His influence in the social scene has grown to the extent that the launch of the night club about two years ago drew governors and other prominent people around the country.
