‘Opposition parties cannot stop Tinubu in 2027’

Ahead of 2027 presidential election, supporters group of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Disciples of Jagaban (DOJ) have dismissed the strength of opposition political parties to unseat Tinubu even with combined forces.

A statement by the National Coordinator of DOJ, Comrade Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje, assured:  “The regrouping of opposition politicians whose common objective is merely to dislodge President Tinubu, notwithstanding the nobility of the reforms being undertaken, cannot stand the test of time.

“The gathering of politicians who are unreliable and untrustworthy will not be able to stop Tinubu’s reelection in 2027.

“The leaders of this emerging group are simply Tinubu’s enemies who do not have what it takes to dislodge him from office and whose ultimate intention is self-serving, narrow and parochial.

“It is interesting to note that while credible and notable opposition members are beginning to embrace Tinubu because of his courage and bold steps being taken, some frustrated and self-centred APC members are conniving with desperate opposition to reinvent new opposition.

“Opposition leaders may be making a costly mistake by assuming that the drama of 2015, where the PDP was decimated in order to dislodge former President Goodluck Jonathan from office could be repeated in 2027.

“They must remember that it was the same Tinubu who was largely  behind the success of the 2015 episode. They therefore need a lot to learn politically before they could confront someone like Jagaban Borgu who became victorious in 2023 Presidential election against all odds.

“Members of the emerging opposition are therefore advised to enrol themselves in the Jagaban political school of thought as learners. They should be aware that the DOJ and the entire gamut of the Tinubu campaign team are watching and are ahead of their scheme.

“As far as members of the Disciples of Jagaban are concerned, we do not see any threat from this group. They are busy wasting time and resources towards 2027. It is rather unfortunate that the view APC members among them are those who cannot survive out of office for just two years without political appointment.

“But why can’t they copy the attitude of President Tinubu who did not hold political office and away from the corridors of power for good 16 years. Yet he busy himself strategising and consulting for his political ambitions.

“How then should we explain the phenomenon  of those who have been two term governors, ministers or National Assembly members rocking the boat because they just needed to join the queue of political reward system. Is political offices the birthright of anyone of them?

“The Disciples of Jagaban has already launched its campaign for Tinubu’s second term in office, as far back as 2023. It is therefore imperative on those who have taken one responsibility or the other, as well as those yet unrewarded by the government to follow suite “.

Why opposition cannot unseat Tinubu in 2027, by Lukman

Former member of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Salihu Moh. Lukman has explained why the opposition cannot unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

Lukman, who was the APC former National Vice Chairman (North West) in a statement on Monday, August 26, in Abuja, noted that all the leading opposition political parties are embroiled in some embarrassing internal crisis, which has pitched leaders of the parties against each other.

He said: “It is quite appalling, for instance, that PDP leaders are antagonistic to Alh. Atiku Abubakar, Mr. Peter Obi is in the midst of a helpless survival leadership battle in LP and Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is over-sighting a directionless NNPP whose roof is being torn apart by no other than its own so-called leaders.”

“All the other parties, including SDP and PRP have adopted a monarchic behaviour, sitting in their comfort zones waiting for disgruntled and aggrieved opposition political leaders to come to them for some ‘royal’ cover.”

The former director general of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) also identified the selfish tendencies of opposition leaders and their greed for power as another factor.

He added: “Part of the reality is that opposition political leaders in the country are stuck to old political ambitions and, to that extent, therefore, only strategising to manipulate their emergence as candidates for election in 2027. This has become the singular determining factor for political consultations in the country.

“Consequently, there is almost zero trust among opposition political leaders, which has become a thick barrier to political consultations in the country. Despite the dangerous situation in the country whereby Nigerians are not only hungry resulting in malnutrition among millions of children, but also that many Nigerians are daily dying on account of hunger and curable diseases, opposition political leaders continue to live in their comfort zones unable to open lines of consultations, which expectedly should produce the roadmap for political mobilisation towards 2027.”
