Tinubu commissions Abuja’s first Bus terminal

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday commissioned the first-ever bus terminal in the nation’s capital, Abuja, with a declaration that his administration was taking decisive steps to bring order, accountability and safety to public transportation.

Tinubu said the newly constructed bus terminals in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are fitted with state-of-the-art facilities that a capital city like Abuja truly deserves.

The president, who noted that the bus terminals will feature integrated commercial activities, including areas for relaxation, was particularly pleased with the inclusion of amenities such as cinema halls where commuters can unwind, and other essential services.

Speaking while inaugurating the Mabushi Bus Terminal, one of three such facilities in FCT, the President, who was represented by Speaker of House of Representatives of Nigeria, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, commended the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike for having the vision, dedication, and relentless pursuit of excellence, which have been instrumental in bringing the project to fruition.

He added that Wike’s commitment to providing first-class infrastructure for Abuja is evident in the quality and speed of project delivery.

Tinubu also opined that beyond the immediate benefits of organized transport and heightened security, the project will also serve as a powerful engine for economic empowerment.

According to him; “With the completion of the Mabushi Bus Terminal and the Kugbo terminal, which I have been informed is also ready for commissioning, we are taking decisive steps to bring order, accountability, and safety to public transportation.

“As we inaugurate the Mabushi Bus Terminal, we are not just opening a building; we are opening a new chapter for public transportation in Abuja. We are reaffirming our promise to provide a city where citizens can live, work, and commute with dignity, safety, and efficiency. This is a clear demonstration that our Renewed Hope Agenda is not merely a slogan, but a lived experience for our people.

“I urge all residents and transporters to make full use of this facility, to cooperate with the authorities, and to embrace this new era of organised and secure public transit.”

Earlier, in his address, Wike reiterated that the real essence of the project is to enhance security by reducing the number of unauthorised vehicles, thereby reducing congestion on the roads.

He, however, said: “This terminal will not be operated by the FCT Transport Secretariat; instead, we will concession it to private operators, who will run it efficiently.

“The terminal will operate 24 hours a day, providing commuters with a safe and comfortable space to wait for their buses. There will be amenities such as food courts, restrooms, and entertainment facilities.”

He also thanked President Tinubu and the National Assembly for their support in making the project a reality.

It was gathered that the Planet Projects, contractors for the construction of the terminal, along with its sister projects, created over 3,000 direct and indirect jobs for skilled artisans to general laborers mainly of Abuja.

  • Tinubu orders speedy execution of approved projects

Tinubu orders speedy execution of approved projects

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed that all approved infrastructure projects must move beyond paper to real-time execution, warning against delays caused by bureaucratic bottlenecks.

Delivering the president’s message at the 2025 Nigeria Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Summit held in Abuja on Tuesday, Vice President Kashim Shettima said the federal government would fast-track approvals for viable projects and intensify coordination among Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to achieve swift implementation.

“We will fast-track approvals for viable projects. We will ensure coordination across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to enable swift implementation,” the president said.

He explained that Nigerians expect tangible results, not promises, stressing the urgency of translating commitments into infrastructure that meets the daily needs of citizens.

“We do this because we know that what matters to the average Nigerian is not promises, but power in their homes, roads to their farms, access to clean water, modern hospitals, and quality schools. We must build. We must deliver. And we must do it together,” Tinubu stated.

The president acknowledged existing challenges in Nigeria’s project implementation culture, noting that the country’s potential had not always been matched by action. He said, “Nigeria does not lack potential. What we have lacked, at times, is alignment of purpose and the courage to act decisively. Let us chart a new path, not just as government and investors, but as partners in nation-building.”

According to him, the current administration has taken steps to streamline bureaucratic processes and enhance transparency in the public-private engagement framework. “We have aligned our processes with global best practices and investor expectations,” he said.

President Tinubu said a functional partnership between government and the private sector was central to national transformation and disclosed that the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) had been strengthened to effectively regulate and de-risk PPP transactions.

“We are determined to deliver infrastructure that is both sustainable and inclusive,” he added.

Speaking on long-term infrastructure goals, Tinubu reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the National Integrated Infrastructure Master Plan (2020–2043), which seeks to raise Nigeria’s infrastructure stock from 30–35 percent of GDP to 70 percent by 2043. “But blueprints do not build roads. Policies alone do not generate megawatts,” he warned.

He called on private sector stakeholders to look beyond perceived risks and seize the opportunity to contribute to a rapidly transforming economy. “To our private sector partners, Nigeria offers scale, demand, and returns like no other African market. But we need more than investment. We need innovation, we need efficiency, and above all, we need integrity. I urge you to look beyond the risks and recognise the immense opportunity to shape a nation that is not just rising, but ready,” he said.

Earlier in his address, Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the ICRC, Dr. Jobson Oseodion Ewalefoh, assured both local and international investors that Nigeria remains open for business and ready for genuine partnership. He cited the country’s large population, expanding middle class, and significant infrastructure deficit—estimated at over $2.3 trillion—as key indicators of PPP urgency and opportunity.

“With over 200 million people, a growing middle class, rich natural endowments, and an enormous infrastructure gap estimated at over $2.3 trillion — the case for PPPs in Nigeria is not only compelling, it is urgent,” Ewalefoh said.

He added that the Commission is focused on balancing its regulatory role with facilitation and collaboration. “We are committed to ensuring that every PPP transaction is not just legally sound, but economically viable and socially impactful,” he said, pledging that the ICRC will support investors from project conceptualisation to financial close and implementation.

Ewalefoh credited the Commission’s progress to President Tinubu’s direct support and a clear mandate to mobilise private-sector funding for national infrastructure.

Tinubu/Shettima 2027: APC Northwest group endorses continuation of joint ticket

The APC Northwest Reclamation Front has thrown its weight behind the continued pairing of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement on Tuesday, the group’s national coordinator, Mallam Hisham Habib, and Deputy National Coordinator (Special Duties), Safwan Isah Umar, described Shettima as the most suitable running mate for Tinubu, urging the party leadership to retain him on the ticket.

The group warned that removing Shettima as Vice President would create a significant vacuum and called on President Tinubu to intervene in the interest of party unity and national stability.

They praised Shettima’s leadership credentials, noting his stellar record as former Borno State Governor and his loyal support for Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.

Following consultations with key stakeholders from Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Sokoto, Jigawa, Kebbi, and Zamfara States, the group said it reached a unanimous decision to support the Tinubu/Shettima ticket for a second term and appealed for calm among aggrieved party factions.

“As a northern leader, Shettima remains a unifying figure committed to delivering the dividends of democracy to the region. Broader consultation is key to resolving internal party disputes,” the group noted.

They also called on the APC leadership to prioritise the inclusion of women and youth and warned “desperate agitators” against sowing disunity that could cost the party victory in 2027.

  • Rivers Rep urges Tinubu to enforce original East-West road design

Rivers Rep urges Tinubu to enforce original East-West road design

A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dumnamene Deekor, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to direct the Federal Ministry of Works to adhere strictly to the original design of the East-West Road, especially the sections passing through Ogoniland.

Deekor, who represents Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency of Rivers State, made the appeal while addressing journalists at the National Assembly.

He commended the president for giving the long-abandoned road priority attention and for fast-tracking its ongoing reconstruction.

He, however, raised concerns that key structural features of the original road design, particularly three major flyovers, may have been excluded by the Ministry of Works, a development he fears could worsen traffic congestion and defeat the purpose of the project.

“The East-West Road is not just any road. It’s a strategic economic corridor that runs through the heart of Ogoniland and links to major hubs like the Ocean Terminal, Free Trade Zone, Notore Fertiliser Company, and hundreds of other businesses,” he said.

Deekor emphasised that the road, which connects seven local governments in Rivers State and extends to Akwa Ibom and Cross River, remains one of Nigeria’s busiest haulage routes after the Apapa axis in Lagos.

He explained that piling had already been completed at critical intersections, such as Onne Trailer Park, Refinery Junction, and Agbajo Junction (Eleme), where flyovers were originally planned. Omitting these structures, he warned, would lead to severe gridlock and economic losses.

“It is baffling that a 15km stretch of such strategic importance is being segmented without full adherence to the original design. If the ministry proceeds with these alterations, Mr. President’s well-intended directive will be defeated,” he said.

Deekor also criticized recent remarks by the Minister of Works dismissing concerns raised by Ogoni stakeholders as “faceless.”

“I’m here with a face, and I speak on behalf of my people. You cannot claim a road is completed and then return days later to lay asphalt. The facts speak for themselves,” he said.

In addition to infrastructure concerns, the lawmaker commended President Tinubu for posthumously honouring Ogoni environmental activists, including Ken Saro-Wiwa and Ledum Mitee, during the June 12 Democracy Day celebrations.

He further hailed the President for signing the bill establishing the Federal University of Environment, describing it as a “catalyst for development in Ogoni and the Niger Delta.”

Deekor appealed for the recognition of other Ogoni martyrs, such as the “Ogoni Four,” to deepen reconciliation and promote lasting peace in the region.

“If these remaining injustices are addressed, I strongly believe that the era of unrest in Ogoniland will become history,” said.

He commended Tinubu for signing the Federal University of Environmental Technology, Ogoni, Rivers bill into law, saying that it will spark economic growth in the area.

  • Why coalition against Tinubu will fail, by ex-PDP chieftain

Why coalition against Tinubu will fail, by ex-PDP chieftain

A former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo state, Reverend Michael Egharevba, has predicted that the planned coalition against the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027 would fail.

Reverend Egharevba said the coalition would fail because the leaders or those spearheading the coalition were bogged down by infighting and internal wrangling.

Egharevba, who spoke in Benin City in a chat with newsmen, said the coalition faced imminent collapse while President Tinubu was consolidating his political capital.

Speaking on his defection to the APC, Rev Egharevba said he did not owe his former party any apology for pitching a tent with Governor Monday Okpeholo to move the state forward.

Egharevba described his defection as ‘political osmosis’.

According to him, “The coalition they are forming will not work. I know them, they will continue to fight while Tinubu will be consolidating. The result of 2027 will be greater than what Tinubu polled in 2023. We all know that the PDP is in disarray with an internal crisis, and the most consolidated party is the APC.

“Look at what is happening in Edo state now, everybody is going towards the APC. You don’t run away from it; otherwise, you will become a victim of your decision. I’m always happy working with those who are in power, and God is a powerful God and not a politician.

“I decided to make up my mind to join APC because it is the future of the Country. PDP may not be happy, but they will all come to the APC, and that was why I came out on democracy day to join the APC.”

Bus terminal: Tinubu reaffirms commitment to safe, orderly public transport

President Bola Tinubu says his administration is taking decisive steps to bring order, accountability and safety in public transportation.

Tinubu stated this while inaugurating the newly constructed Mabushi Bus and Taxi Terminal in Abuja on Tuesday to celebrate his second year in office.

Represented by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Tajudeen Abass, the president noted that the nation’s capital had been grappling with the challenges of the informal transport system.

According to him, the development has led to traffic congestion and, regrettably, the menace of “one chance” crimes that have threatened the peace of our citizens.

“With the completion of the Mabushi Bus Terminal and the Kugbo terminal, we are taking decisive steps to bring order, accountability, and safety to public transportation.

“No longer will our citizens be left to the mercy of impromptu pick-up points; they will now have a secure, well-regulated environment to board their vehicles, knowing that both the drivers and the vehicles are known and registered.

“This is a critical stride in our broader efforts to clean up our city and enhance urban security.

“Beyond the immediate benefits of organised transport and heightened security, this project will also serve as a powerful engine for economic empowerment.”

He disclosed that the construction of the terminal, along with its sister projects, created over 3,000 direct and indirect jobs for the industrious people of Abuja.

“From skilled artisans to general laborers, this initiative has put food on tables and rekindled hope for countless families, demonstrating our administration’s dedication to job creation as a core component of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he said.

Tinubu described the terminal as not just a place to catch a bus but a “modern facility designed for the comfort and convenience of our people”.

He said that the terminal would feature integrated commercial activities, including areas for relaxation.

“I am particularly pleased to note the inclusion of amenities such as cinema halls where commuters can unwind, and other essential services.

“These are the state-of-the-art facilities that a capital city like Abuja truly deserves,” he said.

The president commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, for the laudable initiative.

He added that Wike’s vision, dedication, and relentless pursuit of excellence have been instrumental in bringing this project to fruition.

“His commitment to providing first-class infrastructure for Abuja is evident in the quality and speed of delivery we celebrate today.

“Today, as we inaugurate the Mabushi Bus Terminal, we are not just opening a building; we are opening a new chapter for public transportation in Abuja.

“We are reaffirming our promise to provide a city where citizens can live, work, and commute with dignity, safety, and efficiency.

“This is a clear demonstration that our Renewed Hope Agenda is not merely a slogan, but a lived experience for our people,” Tinubu said.

Earlier, Wike said that the inauguration of the bus and taxi terminal marks a significant milestone in FCT Administration’s efforts to modernise transportation infrastructure in the territory.

The minister said that the FCT Administration inaugurated the construction of three bus and taxi terminals in 2024, one in Mabushi, one in Central Business Area and another in Kugbo.

He added that the Kugbo terminal would be inaugurated next week while the one at Central Business Area would be inaugurated before the end of 2025.

“Additionally, we will construct new terminals in Gwagwalada, Bwari, and Kuje this year.

“The real essence of this project is to enhance security by reducing the number of unauthorised vehicles on the road.

“We are trying to eliminate the “one chance” syndrome, where commuters are vulnerable to attacks by unknown drivers.

“With this terminal, commuters will know the drivers and the vehicles they are boarding, making their journeys safer,” he said.

Wike added that the FCT Administration was also addressing the issue of indiscriminate parking on the roads.

According to him, the terminal will provide a safe and organised space for vehicles to park, thereby reducing congestion on the roads.

“The terminal will operate 24 hours a day, providing commuters with a safe and comfortable space to wait for their buses.

“There will be amenities such as food courts, restrooms, and entertainment facilities.

“However, the terminal will not be not be operated by the FCTA Transport Secretariat, but private operators who will run it efficiently.”

Tinubu Media Force slams PDP,  reaffirms president’s commitment to national security

The Tinubu Media Force (TMF) has dismissed recent allegations by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) accusing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of indifference toward Nigeria’s security challenges, describing the claims as baseless and a distortion of facts.

In a statement titled “Telling the Truth About Tinubu’s Security Initiatives”, issued Monday evening by its national coordinator, Gbenga Abiola, the group said the President has demonstrated unprecedented urgency and commitment in addressing the nation’s security concerns.

The statement outlined several measures taken under the Tinubu administration, including constitutional reforms aimed at overhauling Nigeria’s national security architecture and the rollout of an integrated security strategy. President Tinubu, it added, has consistently engaged security chiefs in detailed briefings, mandating them to pursue holistic and effective strategies for peace and stability.

Specifically referencing the recent killings in Benue State, the group said the President has responded decisively by deploying special forces to restore order and instructing security agencies to arrest and prosecute perpetrators on all sides of the conflict.

It added that the president also directed Governor Hyacinth Alia to convene peace meetings among warring factions and personally suspended all his engagements to console the bereaved families.

The Tinubu Media Force noted that Governor Alia has publicly commended the President’s swift and proactive response to the Benue crisis, underscoring the administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity head-on.

Describing the PDP’s accusations as “media rascality,” the group accused the opposition party of playing politics with human lives and attempting to discredit genuine efforts at restoring peace nationwide.

“These initiatives demonstrate President Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to national security,” the statement concluded.

“We urge Nigerians to ignore the PDP’s propaganda and recognize the ongoing efforts to secure the country. The truth will prevail, and President Tinubu’s legacy as a champion of national security will stand the test of time.”

  • Use sovereign wealth to build Africa, Tinubu urges

Use sovereign wealth to build Africa, Tinubu urges

President Bola Tinubu has urged African nations to deepen regional cooperation and deploy sovereign wealth funds strategically to accelerate development across the continent.

He said the coordinated use of these national reserves is essential for closing infrastructure gaps, enhancing climate resilience, and creating employment for the rapidly expanding youth population.

Speaking yesterday in Abuja at the opening of the fourth Annual Meeting of the Africa Sovereign Investors Forum (ASIF), represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, he said the continent must align its resources and ambitions in response to a fast-changing global landscape.

The event was hosted by the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) under the theme: “Leveraging African Sovereign Wealth Funds to Mobilise Global Capital for Transformative Development in Africa.”

“This forum comes at a time the world is undergoing rapid transformation and is under pressure to think outside the box. For Africa, this is the moment to position itself to seize opportunities arising from these changes,” Tinubu said.

He urged African countries to emulate the example of evolving sovereign wealth funds globally, which now play central roles in national transformation rather than being used solely as fiscal stabilisation tools.

“Our future lies not in working in silos but in pursuing regional cooperation and collective ambition.

“Our sovereign wealth funds must become the anchors for pan-African investment platforms that de-risk projects, standardise processes, and deliver sustainable outcomes at scale. This is not just a strategy. This is a necessity,” he said.

He acknowledged the fiscal pressures African governments face amid heightened expectations for inclusive and sustainable growth, but said innovation and creativity in resource utilisation will provide a way forward.

“There can be no greater inspiration to reimagine how we invest, whether in setting up critical infrastructure, strengthening our climate resilience, promoting food security through agricultural innovation, supporting micro, small and medium enterprises, or embracing the digital economy to create jobs and expand opportunity,” Tinubu said.

He commended the NSIA for its role in championing strategic infrastructure projects, describing it as a “catalyst” in Nigeria’s development agenda, particularly in renewable energy, healthcare, and agriculture.

On the ASIF platform, President Tinubu said it represents a vital step toward fostering integration among Africa’s sovereign wealth institutions. He said the platform has the potential to pool expertise, capital and networks across borders and drive investment into high-impact projects.

“This is precisely why platforms like the Africa Sovereign Investors Forum are not just relevant but essential. ASIF offers a pan-African mechanism to harness the collective strength of our sovereign investment institutions. It gives us the power to share knowledge, co-invest across borders, and speak with a unified voice in the global financial ecosystem,” he said.

He described the launch of the ASIF Investment Platform as a bold initiative that could galvanise financing for cross-border infrastructure and drive the continent’s sustainable development. President Tinubu praised the NSIA’s leadership for working with like-minded funds and international partners to craft long-term investment strategies tailored to Africa’s unique challenges.

In his address, Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun urged stakeholders to focus on large-scale capital mobilisation, human capital development, policy alignment, and intercontinental collaboration. He said these elements are critical to unlocking transformative growth across Africa.

“We are optimistic that this meeting will produce significant transactions that can attract the needed capital, build impactful partnerships and catalyse economic transformation across the continent,” Edun said.

On his part, President of the African Export-Import Bank (AfreximBank), Prof. Benedict Oramah, called for a change in investment philosophy, urging that African sovereign wealth funds be retained within the continent to finance domestic projects.

“There is a misconception that Africa lacks bankable projects. The potential across the continent is massive. The issue lies in how we approach investment strategy. Sovereign fund managers need to prioritise domestic investments that have long-term impact,” Oramah noted.

ASIF Chairman, Mr Obaid Amrane, said the forum has made notable progress since its inception three years ago, positioning Africa more competitively on the global stage and bridging infrastructure financing deficits. He restated the forum’s commitment to ensuring that sovereign investment is at the heart of Africa’s transformation.

“While Africa remains open for business, we are focused on enabling sovereign investors to play an active role in projects that change lives across the continent,” Amrane said.

Managing Director of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority, Mr Aminu Umar-Sadiq, said the focus of the gathering was on how Africa’s sovereign wealth funds can leverage partnerships at domestic, continental, and global levels to deliver economic transformation.

He said the funds must strike a balance between taking bold investment risks to drive impact and maintaining the discipline needed to preserve wealth for future generations.

Sadiq noted that the continent must work together to develop a sustainable investment platform capable of attracting large-scale global capital. Such a platform, he said, should support initiatives that deliver strong commercial returns while also generating meaningful social impact, allowing Africa to address its developmental needs through financially sound and socially responsive investments.

Umar-Sadiq added that African sovereign wealth funds must position themselves as the strategic partners of choice for international investors, combining their domestic knowledge and financial capacity to create an attractive market proposition. He said several investment and strategic agreements would be signed during the meeting to reinforce a collective commitment to economic transformation through collaboration and long-term capital deployment.

Also speaking at the forum, renowned pan-African scholar, Prof. PLO Lumumba, urged African leaders to take greater responsibility for future generations by investing within the continent rather than exporting capital abroad.

“It is our intergenerational duty to deploy the continent’s vast resources for the benefit of those yet unborn. Africa is not poor; our wealth is simply misallocated. Sovereign funds should remain in Africa to secure its future,” Lumumba stated.

A group, Forward With President Bola Tinubu 2027 ICG, has consoled  its state chapter, led by Coordinator, Gabriel Nyitse, people, families and government of Benue State over the ‘‘avoidable bloodletting’’ in the state at the weekend.

Director General, Peter Ilefa, spoke with journalists on the sidelines of a stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, noting life is too sacred to be wasted.

Ilefa condemned the carnage that reportedly claimed many lives, saying as a social crusader and grassroot mobiliser, the group tagged such killings as inhuman and ungodly.

He said the group, Forward With President Bola Tinubu 2027 ICG, is a socio-political group mobilising Nigerians to support the second tenure bid of the administration, noting the President is doing his best to end criminal acts, killing and maiming of fellow citizens.

The director general assured the people that the killings will end one day, urging the bereaved to take solace in the resurrection of their loved ones.

He called on the Federal Government to rein in those who cause provocations and ignite reprisal attacks.

“The latest news of wanton killings in Benue State is depressing. We must not allow this bloodletting to continue unabated. Enough is enough.’’

  • Tinubu’s consistency, determination, patience, liberalism: a lawyer’s perspective

Tinubu’s consistency, determination, patience, liberalism: a lawyer’s perspective

    By Gbenga Adeoye

The harm that humanity has done to many great men on earth is that we choose to talk about them after their deaths, but it is a good idea to write or say to the world and to the ears of concerned persons their good deeds while they are still with us.

What that does to the people is that it makes them feel good to continue to do good, and also makes them happy that their deeds are all noted.

God is also in the habit of making a vow and rewarding great men who choose to do extraordinary things. He made a vow to David that his lineage would forever occupy the throne of Israel.

For every cross, there is a crown. Those who do good will reap their reward on earth and thereafter.

The Pareto principle has also shown me that people focus more on just a few negative things about good people, and if care is not taken, those other fantastic things could be neglected.

Therefore, as an observer of events in Nigeria and a researcher trained in the fields of accounting, banking and finance, business management and law, I have these to say about Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

    He is a consistent politician

He is the only one among many big politicians in Nigeria who remained consistent in terms of political ideology.

From SDP, to AD, ACN and APC, he has remained a leader in his party after the exit of Chief MKO Abiola.

Other politicians aspiring to be presidents and governors had cause to run to him in the past. Even Buhari won in 2015 because Tinubu backed him up. We all know the details.

If Asiwaju tells you to go ahead, and he will support you, you can just go to sleep. He is not a hypocrite when it comes to his political alignment and support declaration for anyone. No one can dispute this in Nigeria. While some play it safe by supporting three or four candidates, Tinubu has remained consistent as a committed leader of his party in Nigeria.

No wonder, the system he laid down in Lagos is still working. With the GAC and other systems in place, no state can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Lagos.

I think politicians in Ogun State and indeed all of us need to go to school in Lagos to learn politics from Tinubu Political & Governance University (TPGU).

    He is a determined politician

He is so focused that he does not shift from his goal. As a golfer, we have one word during our training which says: “Eyes on the ball.” His eyes are always on the ball. No wonder he has never lost any election.

When in 2022 the gang up against him in his party became intense, he didn’t back out. He used his political skills to get the ticket.

Tinubu spoke like a professor of history in my town at Abeokuta, and from that day when he explained the trajectory of his journey in politics and why it had become his turn, I knew he was determined.

After his speech in Abeokuta, spiritually, all obstacles were removed and the rest is history.

By the way, Egbaland is a land where people get inspiration to lead and win their wars. He was able to enter the list of those who received their miracles on the soil of my town. The city of many firsts.

Everything that is major in Nigeria started from Abeokuta. I’m so proud of our town and city as an Egba man.

Somehow, Asiwaju tapped into that anointing in Egbaland as he spoke like one under the control of the Holy Spirit when he said EMI LOKAN… Indeed, it was his turn ,and God said YES because of where those words were spoken.

Therefore, if you desire anything good, just come to Abeokuta and visit Alake and go to Itoku and Olumo Rock, and try to visit St. Peter Cathedral, the first Church in Nigeria, and your prayers will be stamped by God with the word. Amen. Try it.

    He is a patient politician

When others were looking for Presidential tickets in 2007, he was busy building the party.

In 2011, he remained a leader and did not contest the election.

In 2015, he supported Buhari with all his energy and campaigned around the country.

He does not rush at anything. He waited patiently until 2023 to run, and he won.

Even when Atiku needed a ticket. He gave him. He once supported a wonderful NSA, Nuhu Ribadu. Those are the guys who have seen him inside out and can testify to his personality.

If you listen to Ribadu speak about Tinubu with his words, such as Tinubu Gains, you will know he has a very deep understanding of the man called Asiwaju.

Read Also: Sam Amuka: Very unNigerian

Even when his boys that he has put in power at any position offend him, he will just wait patiently until the second term. Ambode can testify to that. He does not rush to punish an offender or react in a rush to any matter.

    He is a liberal politician

I’m not sure if in Nigeria today, there is any politician who is as liberal as Asiwaju.

A lot of Nigerians do not understand why many opposition members are going to APC. The main reason is that Asiwaju is so liberal and ready to welcome anyone willing to join his train, regardless of past differences.

He wants the best for all. He does not segregate.

When he appointed some people to be ministers, people started wondering why he should appoint those who once spoke negatively about him.

He cares less about other factors as long as you are intelligent and you can deliver.

His focus is intellect and capacity to deliver, not one that just hate people because of their political statement or affiliation.

Why did Daniel Bwala join him? Because he is a liberal man. Many more are coming to be with him.

Even during this holiday Eid Kabir, he received many people, and some people just got angry because he received those they think are his enemies. Asiwaju is not the kind of person who will fence people off. If there is anything of such, it may be coming from people around him acting selfishly and not based on any instruction from him to so do.

Why do you think Ogunlewe and Obanikoro are with him?

Just look at a brilliant Fashola – why do you think they are with him? Why did Pedro return? A liberal man.

A brilliant Professor of Law, Prof Osinbajo worked with him, and he ensured the man became number 2 in Nigeria. Why do you think they worked with him?

Yemi Cardoso and my own brother from Abeokuta Wale Edun, CBN Governor and Minister of Finance respectively – why do you think they worked with him, and now they are with him?

Segun Sowunmi, who is another brother from my town, why is he speaking so wonderfully about Asiwaju now? Because Asiwaju is a brilliant and liberal politician.

Why did Bosun Tijani join his cabinet? Or my learned friend Jumoke Oduwole? Simply because he is a brilliant and liberal politician.

Should I talk about the performing Minister of FCT, Wike? He joined Tinubu because he saw in him a focused, brilliant and liberal politician.

Akwa Ibom and Delta State governors are now in the APC for the same reason.

Contrary to the view of people about migration from PDP and other parties to APC, in my considered personal opinion, we have too many political parties, and we may need to adopt the IBB method of just two parties. We don’t need too many political parties in Nigeria if our democracy must grow with a viable opposition.

We can just have the APC and one other party in Nigeria.

Tinubu’s cabinet is like the government of National Unity, and so members of other political parties consider the APC a good place to go to. That again underscores the liberal nature of the leader of that party. Can they buy all the migrants? Are they all having problems that pursued them to APC? I don’t think so.

    Conclusion

In conclusion, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a consistent, determined, patient and liberal Politician that Nigeria has ever produced.

I pray that we can have at least one of his type in every state in Nigeria…

As we celebrate June 12 and M.K.O Abiola’s Victory of 1993, who is another man from my town, Abeokuta, again, I pray for peace, prosperity, and progress in Nigeria.

My only request from Mr President is to declare a state of emergency in the power sector. If we have light, development will be accelerated.

I commend the government for the student loan programme.

I also commend the president for the revival of cotton farms in Ogun State, which is a major breakthrough that will reshape the textile industry in Nigeria.

Since Dr. Opeifa is my friend, and he is now the M.D of Nigerian Railway Corporation, by way of advice, let’s buy more trains for the Lagos-Ibadan rail line. Let’s link Lagos to Abuja by train.

Let us keep pushing the upgrade of our tourist locations in Nigeria.

I have a strong belief that Nigeria is now on the path of greatness. Happy Democracy Day to all Nigerians.
