W’Cup 2026: NFF begs Tinubu, Nigerians over  Super Eagles’ setback

    • By Joshua Osinowo

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has apologised  to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Federal Government and the Nigerian public following the Super Eagles’ failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In a statement released  through its Communications Department, the federation described Sunday’s defeat to the Democratic Republic of  Congo in the Africa Play-Offs Final in Rabat as “a moment of profound sadness,” noting that the result fell far short of national expectations.

The NFF acknowledged the emotional impact of missing out on a second consecutive World Cup, stressing that in a country where football functions as a unifying force and a national symbol, the setback carries “great weight and emotional depth.”

According to the statement, the atmosphere in the dressing room after the match was sombre, with players visibly distressed as they absorbed the disappointment. The Federation added that the board, technical crew and playing personnel fully recognise the gravity of the situation and the expectations of millions of Nigerians.

The NFF also highlighted the extensive support received throughout the qualification campaign—from the Federal Government, National Sports Commission, National Assembly, key ministries and agencies, the diplomatic service, media stakeholders and fans across the world.

“Football in Nigeria is more than a sport; it is a national language and a powerful symbol of identity and unity,” the Federation said, pledging to respond with sincerity, accountability and concrete action.

With the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco approaching, the NFF stated that the tournament presents an opportunity for renewal and for the team to demonstrate the resilience traditionally associated with Nigerian football.

The Federation further announced that, in the coming days, its leadership will embark on a comprehensive review of the technical, administrative and structural lapses that contributed to the unsuccessful World Cup campaign. It assured Nigerians that decisive steps will be taken to reposition the national teams for future success.

“We will rebuild trust. We will restore pride. We will reclaim our standing on the global stage,” the statement concluded, reaffirming Nigeria’s reputation as a nation defined by resilience and optimism.

Economic reforms to secure youth future, build global competitiveness — Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday said his administration’s sweeping economic reforms are deliberately designed to secure the future of youths by equipping them with the skills, opportunities, and institutional support needed to thrive in a rapidly changing global economy.

The President made the remarks while receiving the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Edward, at the State House in Abuja.

Prince Edward, who chairs the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, was in Nigeria to brief the President on the organisation’s forthcoming award ceremony scheduled to hold in Lagos.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described youths as the heart of Nigeria’s development agenda and central to the nation’s economic transformation.

“We will be participating in the G-20 this week. It is the third time Africa is hosting the G-20. And the central issue is about our youth. We need to strengthen the economy for our youths”, President Tinubu said.

He said reforms initiated by his administration, including education financing, digital infrastructure expansion, and skills development programmes, are targeted at enabling young Nigerians to compete globally.

“We need to strengthen the economy for our youths. The reforms are about growth and prosperity for the nation. They take into full consideration our demography and the need for skills development. We are emulating best practices to explore opportunities in several areas”, the President said.

Highlighting the government’s new Education Loan Fund, Tinubu stressed that no student admitted into tertiary institutions should drop out due to financial constraints.

“Our goal is to use education to drive down poverty,” he said.

The President added that widespread infrastructural upgrades, such as the nationwide laying of fibre-optic cables, would expand access to technology, deepen inclusion and accelerate the integration of young people into the digital economy.

He said reforms across various sectors are also aimed at strengthening synergy among institutions while sustaining long-term growth.

Tinubu further noted that improving security remains a top priority, commending humanitarian organisations for supporting victims of terrorism and internal displacement.

Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, said Nigeria’s youthful population, with a median age of 17, continues to shape the structure and focus of government reforms, which aim to expand skills development and job creation.

Prince Edward lauded the Tinubu administration’s reforms, saying they have earned positive global attention.

He said the Lagos award ceremony will celebrate the achievements of 320 young Nigerians who have demonstrated passion, resilience, and commitment to personal development.

He also praised the Minister of Finance for his “brilliant contributions” to the planning of the event and for consistently championing the role of young people in Nigeria’s reform process.

The Duke was accompanied by the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Sir Richard Montgomery; his Private Secretary, Alex Potts; Secretary General of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, Martin Houghton-Brown; and International Trustee for Africa, Mr. Muhoho Kenyatta.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a global non-formal education framework that equips young people with skills, resilience and a sense of service through schools, youth organisations and community groups worldwide.

Group begins mobilisation support for Tinubu in Ondo

    …unveils support plans, strategy

A youth coalition backed by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has launched an extensive grassroots mobilisation campaign in support of President Bola Tinubu in Ondo State.

The group, operating under the banner of the Ondo Youth Alliance for Tinubu, began its statewide sensitisation drive on Monday, declaring that the President deserves a second term in office in what it described as his ‘transformative economic reforms.’

Speaking during the unveiling of the group’s mobilisation strategy in Akure, the Director-General, Thalis Olonite Apalowo, said the initiative targets the 18 local government areas of the state ahead of the 2027 general election.

Apalowo stated that the President Tinubu administration has already delivered “visible results,” adding that the group is confident of securing overwhelming support from young voters in the state.

He explained that the group is a coalition of young, visionary individuals drawn from various youth associations, organisations, and clusters across Ondo state, who are committed to championing the President’s reelection efforts.

According to him, President Tinubu has set Nigeria on the path to greatness through bold reforms addressing long-standing national challenges.

“We will deploy our collective strength, mobilisation capacity, grassroots networks, organisational structure, communication channels, and every available resource to guarantee President Bola Tinubu’s reelection,” Apalowo said.

He highlighted the removal of petroleum subsidies, stabilisation of the foreign exchange market, implementation of the student loan initiative, and the rise of youth-owned SMEs as some of the key policies resonating with young Nigerians under the President Tinubu government.

Apalowo also maintained that youths – who he said have benefited significantly from the Renewed Hope Agenda – must lead the mobilisation for President Tinubu, particularly at the grassroots level.

According to him, the group, with strong backing and support from Tunji-Ojo, will prioritise youth-focused issues such as access to economic opportunities and empowerment.

He added that as part of its statewide engagement plan, the group will organise policy dialogues, reform-focused conversations, town hall summits, and community development projects in all 18 LGAs in collaboration with various youth bodies.

Apalowo also commended Dr Tunji-Ojo for his loyalty to President Tinubu and his contributions to national development, citing swift reforms in the Ministry of Interior.

“When the Minister assumed office, he moved quickly into action. Over 200,000 passport backlogs were cleared. The introduction of e-gates eased airport traffic and reduced human contact – an important step in curbing corruption.

“A new Data Control Centre and several innovative reforms across agencies under the Ministry have also been delivered,” he noted.

Tinubu tasks judges to shun corruption, uphold judicial independence, integrity

…pledges support to address judiciary’s challenges

President Bola Tinubu has tasked judges in the country to always live above board and uphold judicial independence and integrity because no nation survives a corrupt Judiciary.

President Tinubu, who noted public concern about judicial integrity, stated that it was impossible to build a just society without a fearless and functional Judiciary.

He said, “Let us be clear: no amount of reform can succeed if integrity is compromised. Justice must never be for sale, and the Bench must never become a sanctuary for compromise.

“Corruption in any arm of government weakens the nation, but corruption in the Judiciary destroys it at its core.

“When justice is compromised, governance loses its integrity, and democracy loses its foundation,” he said.

The President added, “A judgment may be grounded in law and delivered with clarity, but unless the public perceives it to be fair, impartial, and untainted, its moral authority is diminished.

“The confidence of the people is, therefore, not an abstract aspiration; it is the living measure of the Judiciary’s legitimacy and the true currency of justice.

“We must acknowledge, with candour, that public perception of the judicial process has not always been favourable.

“Citizens have expressed frustration at delays, concerns about integrity, and anxiety over access to justice. These perceptions, whether wholly justified or not, cannot be ignored.

“They call upon us to reflect, to reform, and to restore. For ultimately, justice does not exist for the Bench or the Bar; it exists for the people. Their faith in the judicial process is the foundation of our national stability,” he said.

President Tinubu, who spoke in Abuja on Monday at the 2025 All Nigerian Judges’ Conference of the Superior Courts, said his administration would support all efforts by the Judiciary to preserve its integrity.

The weeklong event, organised by the National Judicial Institute (NJI), headed by Justice Babatunde Adejumo, has as its theme: “Building a Confident Judiciary.”

President Tinubu said, “With utmost seriousness, my administration stands ready to support every effort by the Judiciary to preserve its dignity and eliminate misconduct.

“This is not a task for the National Judicial Council alone; it is a collective duty that rests on every judicial officer.

“Discipline within the Judiciary must be firm, transparent, and consistent. Only a Judiciary that cleanses itself can command the moral authority to cleanse society,” he said.

President Tinubu, who noted the Judiciary’s contribution to the sustenance of the nation’s democracy, promised his administration’s support in addressing the challenges hampering effective delivery of its constitutional mandate.

He added, “My administration believes that a Judiciary that is strong in capacity, efficient in process, and uncompromising in integrity is not merely desirable; it is indispensable to the survival of our democracy and the prosperity of our nation.

“We cannot build a just society without a fearless and functional Judiciary. In this regard, I wish to reaffirm, with clarity and conviction, the unwavering commitment of my administration to supporting the Judiciary in fulfilling its constitutional mandate.

“The Judiciary does not exist in isolation; it functions within a larger democratic framework in which all three arms of government must work in synergy, with mutual respect and shared responsibility to the Nigerian people.

“The Executive, the Legislature, and the Judiciary must remain united by purpose, even when separated by function,” he said.

The President tasked participants at the conference to be frank and critical in their discussions to enable them to identify necessary solutions to existing challenges in the sector.

He added, “My Lords, as you deliberate in the coming days, I want you to remember that the Judiciary is not an end in itself; it is an instrument of justice for the people.

“Its moral power flows not merely from the Constitution, but from the trust and confidence that ordinary citizens repose in it.

“A courageous, transparent, and principled Judiciary is the greatest guarantee of freedom; a slow, compromised, or disconnected Judiciary is its greatest threat.

“This is why I urge you, in your discussions, to be bold and practical. Go beyond diagnosing old challenges and commit to actionable solutions.

“Ask the difficult questions on: How do we reduce the backlog of cases? How do we strengthen discipline within the ranks?

“How do we make justice more affordable and accessible to the poor, the weak, and the voiceless? And above all, how do we build a Judiciary that truly remains the last hope of the common man?”

President Tinubu, who hailed the Judiciary for its many interventions in the past, recalled that “whenever Nigeria has faced moments of uncertainty, history has recorded that the Judiciary stood firm as the stabilising force of our national life.

“It is through the courage of judges and their judicial pronouncements that tyranny has been restrained, constitutional order preserved, and the voice of justice amplified above the noise of division or despair.

“For this enduring role, I extend, on behalf of the Government and the people of Nigeria, our deepest gratitude and abiding respect,” he said.

President Tinubu, who stressed the need for a modernised and efficient Judiciary, assured of support for the NJI to enable provide the required training for the judicial officers, who constitute the driving force of the judicial system.

He added, “A digital, transparent judiciary will not only improve efficiency, but will also deepen accountability and public trust.

“We should not leave any of our courts behind in this transformation. Yet, bricks and mortar or even digital screens do not make justice.

“The true strength of the Judiciary lies in the men and women who interpret the law and give life to its spirit.

“Our judges are the living custodians of justice; the calibre of their work defines the moral strength of the republic.

“That is why judicial welfare, training, and independence are not privileges; they are imperatives,” he said.

  • Nigeria’s aviation sector among Africa’s most viable, under-exploited markets – Tinubu

Nigeria’s aviation sector among Africa’s most viable, under-exploited markets – Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday said Nigeria’s aviation sector remains one of Africa’s most viable and under-exploited markets, urging both local and foreign investors to use emerging opportunities across the industry.

Speaking at the opening of the 2025 FAAN National Aviation Conference (FNAC) in Lagos, the President, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, said current market fundamentals place Nigeria at the centre of the continent’s future growth in air transport.

According to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the SGF on media and publicity, Mr Yomi Odunuga, the President said, “The opportunities abound because Nigeria’s aviation industry remains one of the most viable and under-exploited markets in Africa.

“With over 220 million people, a strategic geographic position, fast-growing travel demand and a $1.7 trillion AfCFTA-driven regional market, this sector offers real, ready and bankable opportunities for investors”, he said.

He noted that the nation’s expanding population, increasing travel demand and unique geographic location have combined to make this “the best time” to invest in aviation.

President Tinubu highlighted cargo operations, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, aircraft leasing, charter operations and aviation-linked real estate as priority areas capable of attracting significant private-sector participation.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to simplifying regulatory processes, promoting transparency and offering incentives across critical aviation value chains, the President said government policy is focused on building a globally competitive aviation ecosystem driven by innovation, safety and private-sector investment.

He said the conference theme, “Elevating the Nigerian Aviation Industry through Investment, Partnership and Global Engagements,” aligns squarely with his Renewed Hope Agenda, under which the administration has commissioned new international terminals in Lagos and Port Harcourt, rehabilitated major airports in Abuja, Enugu and Kano, strengthened regulatory oversight, expanded cargo and MRO facilities, and advanced work on a transparent framework for a national carrier.

The President also identified emerging opportunities expected to shape the sector in the coming decade.

These include aviation cargo and agro-export corridors, expanded MRO capacity to curb capital flight, development of smart and green airports powered by renewable energy, and upgraded aviation training through decentralised NCAT centres.

He restated his administration’s commitment to aviation safety, operational efficiency, environmental sustainability and full compliance with international standards, adding that upcoming civil aviation policy reforms will modernise airport operations, enhance passenger experience and boost investor confidence.

President Tinubu commended the Minister of Aviation, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and sector agencies for what he described as purposeful leadership and steady progress.

He urged participants to sustain the momentum and deepen collaboration to strengthen the aviation industry.

“The future of Nigerian aviation is bright and full of promise. Together—government, private sector and international partners—we shall build a safer, stronger and more globally connected aviation industry,” he said.

The President formally declared the 2025 FAAN National Aviation Conference open, calling on stakeholders to continue working together to “keep Nigeria flying higher.”

  • Omole’s twin bubbles for Tinubu, APC

Omole’s twin bubbles for Tinubu, APC

    By Ladi Ayodeji

Deacon Banjo Omole’s twin publications, Destined Destiny and Extolling Leadership, land with the weight of a man rounding off a successful political chapter and stepping confidently into a creative renaissance. As he concludes his two-term tenure as APC Chairman in Ifako-Ijaiye, these books function not merely as commemorative works but as statements of identity, political, cultural, and artistry.

They reveal a man who has lived inside the engine room of Lagos politics, watched its rhythms up close, and chosen to document its leading figures in a language that blends admiration, spirituality, symbolism, and history.

Destined Destiny is the more forceful of the two, a focused tribute to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Omole writes with the certainty of someone who believes Tinubu’s journey has been less accidental and more divinely crafted. He leans heavily into numerology, destiny, and metaphor, weaving a portrait where Tinubu becomes more than a political actor

He becomes a symbol of endurance, transformation, and national possibility. The imagery is deliberate: “eagles that soar above storms”, “leaders who carry the weight of nations”, and the recurring spiritual undertones that speak to Nigeria’s deeply religious political psyche. Omole’s devotion is unmistakable, and the poems are steeped in that conviction.

Where Destined Destiny delivers a single beam of focused praise, Extolling Leadership scatters the light across a wider field. Omole turns his poetic gaze toward Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Hamzat, Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, and an impressive list of APC stalwarts.

Each individual is celebrated through carefully constructed metaphors such as timber, iron, gold, lions, and other natural imagery drawn from Yoruba cosmology and classical leadership narratives. Omole positions these leaders as custodians of Lagos’ progress and the APC’s vision, capturing their roles in the state’s political evolution.

The language throughout is unapologetically ornate, echoing traditional praise poetry while embracing modern political commentary. Omole writes with a performer’s voice. He is dramatic, rhythmic, and confident. His poems read like ceremonial speeches, the kind delivered before large audiences, meant to stir pride and reaffirm loyalty. Readers seeking subtle literary critique will find little here; these books are not exercises in neutrality. They are declarations of admiration, written by a man who has shaped, and been shaped by, the political landscape he describes.

Yet beyond the praise lies something more intimate: Omole’s transition into a new creative path. Through these works, he signals his intention to become not just a political actor but a cultural storyteller, poet, chronicler, and advocate for what he considers exemplary leadership. This shift is evident in his willingness to use poetry as a vehicle to record political memory, bind identity, and celebrate legacy.

Together, Destined Destiny and Extolling Leadership operate as both personal testimonials and political documentation. They capture a moment in Lagos and Nigerian politics through the eyes of an insider who chooses to honour his leaders with poetic devotion. Supporters of Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu, and the APC tradition will find these collections deeply resonant, while literary observers will see in them a distinctive blend of political praise poetry and cultural narration.

Ultimately, the two books stand as fitting signatures to Omole’s tenure. It is bold, expressive, and anchored in loyalty, faith, and the enduring belief in leadership that shapes destinies.

Focus on 2026 AFCON after World Cup heartbreak, Tinubu advises Eagles

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has charged the Super Eagles to shift attention to the 2026 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, urging the team to recover quickly from Sunday’s World Cup playoff defeat to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, the President said the team must now “focus all efforts on the Cup of Nations” after narrowly missing out on a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup for the second consecutive cycle.

Nigeria’s qualification hopes were extinguished in Rabat after a tense match ended 1-1 in extra time, with DR Congo edging the Eagles 4-3 on penalties to move into the Inter-Confederation play-off.

Despite the disappointment, Tinubu commended the players for their determination throughout the qualifiers, noting that they had shown resilience, particularly after winning the first leg of the playoff.

“Notwithstanding the unfortunate loss, we must commend the players for their efforts and continue to support them,” he said.

The President also called for a comprehensive review of the country’s football operations, urging administrators, coaches, players and stakeholders to return to the drawing board and “plug all the loopholes” that undermined the qualification campaign.

While acknowledging the pain felt by fans nationwide, he stressed that the upcoming AFCON—scheduled for January to February 2026—provides an immediate opportunity for redemption.

“Our Super Eagles must recover the lost glory,” President Tinubu said, rallying the team to prepare adequately and aim for a strong continental outing

  • Tinubu true leader Nigerians must back, says Ndume

Tinubu true leader Nigerians must back, says Ndume

Former Senate Leader, Mohammed Ali Ndume, has urged Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing him as a capable, listening and visionary leader who deserves collective support to deliver on his mandate.

Speaking on Sunday night at the Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe Annual Award Lecture at NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja, Ndume who received the award for “Most Outstanding Legislator and Advocate of National Unity”, said the country must close ranks and give the President the solidarity required to overcome prevailing national challenges.

Ndume expressed concerns over the increasing wave of defections from opposition parties into the All Progressives Congress (APC), warning that the ruling party risks internal strain if it continues to admit political actors who contribute little or nothing to its development.

He, however, stressed that the broader national task before President Tinubu makes unity of purpose more important than intra-party differences.

“I have warned that the APC is becoming overloaded. And when you overload a ship, especially with empty cargo, it risks capsizing,” he said.

“But beyond party politics, what Nigeria needs now is unity. Charity begins at home. Let us stand together behind our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. With unity, we can move this country forward.”

Ndume said many of those defecting to the APC add no meaningful value after joining, likening the situation to “a pastor who leaves his church and immediately wants to become the pastor in charge,” a development he said naturally breeds confusion.

He insisted that despite occasional criticisms of the administration, his commitment to Nigeria’s progress and his confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership remain firm.

“I call Asiwaju a leader because he listens,” Ndume said. “Some may wonder why I speak frankly at times. It is because I fear people may think we are failing, when in truth, we have a leader who is genuinely committed. No one man can be captain, goalkeeper and striker at the same time. The President needs capable hands around him.”

The senator emphasised the need to remove incompetent officials he described as “kakistocrats and kleptocrats,” arguing that only a united and efficient team can support Tinubu’s reform agenda.

Dame Uche Azikiwe, wife of Nigeria’s first President, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, commended the organisers of the annual lecture and urged current political leaders to emulate the patriotism and selflessness of First Republic statesmen such as Zik himself, Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Sir Ahmadu Bello.

“They are long gone but their legacies live on,” she said. “They were selfless leaders, not driven by personal interest. I am always happy when people remember Zik for his contributions to Nigeria’s unity.”

  • Tinubu’s reforms working for Nigeria’s development, says Speaker Abbas

Tinubu’s reforms working for Nigeria’s development, says Speaker Abbas

House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas has said the reforms President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has introduced since assuming office have been working for Nigeria’s development.

He noted that though the reforms have been tough, they remained necessary for Nigeria’s further development.

The Speaker called for patience and demanded sacrifice from Nigerians to enable the nation to attain greater heights.

He said the reforms have engendered “gradual stabilisation of exchange rates, improved fiscal discipline, growth in agriculture, better revenues for states, and a return of investor confidence”.

Abbas added: “These improvements show that the path we are on is the right one.”

The Speaker said this yesterday in Lagos during the presentation of utility vehicles to some traditional rulers in southern Nigeria, which he facilitated through the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN).

Read Also: Tinubu’s reforms working for Nigeria’s development – Speaker Abbas

It was the second time the Speaker was extending such gesture to the traditional institutions in the South, having done the first one in May when six royal fathers went home with brand new vehicles.

Previous beneficiaries nationwide included first-class and second-class traditional rulers in Ekiti, Ogun, Osun, Edo, Delta, Ebonyi, Imo, Sokoto, Kaduna, Niger, Taraba, Nasarawa, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), among others.

The beneficiaries of yesterday’s gesture include the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, the Onikate of Ikate, the Paramount Ruler of Okobo Land in Akwa Ibom, Igwe Fidelis Ogbu of Enugu, Igwe Robert C. of Anambra State, and Oba Arole-Agbala of Ondo.

Abbas said the “interventions were not acts of convenience but “a recognition of the indispensable contributions of our traditional leaders to peacebuilding, conflict mediation, religious harmony, cultural preservation and community development”.

He added: “We remain firmly convinced that the cultural and traditional pillars of Nigeria must be supported, respected, and empowered because a stable nation begins with strong, trusted institutions at the grassroots.

“These vehicles are not gifts of comfort. They are tools for duty. They enhance the mobility and effectiveness of leaders who remain the first and most trusted point of contact for millions of our citizens.

“Traditional rulers are essential for conflict resolution, local intelligence, community mobilisation, and cultural stability. When they lack mobility, their ability to respond to emergencies, support development initiatives, and liaise with the government is limited. Enhancing their capacity is, therefore, a strategic investment in peace, order, and grassroots governance.”

The Speaker noted that “stable and credible traditional institutions are not a luxury” but essential pillars of national cohesion”. He added: “Supporting them does not compete with investments in schools, hospitals, or infrastructure. On the contrary, our action reinforces those investments by ensuring that communities are stable, organised, and receptive to development.

“More importantly, our intervention aligns fully with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which places strong institutions and community-rooted leadership at the heart of national renewal.”

Abbas said it was in recognition of the critical role traditional rulers play that the National Assembly was pursuing a constitutional amendment to define and protect such role.

He said the Tinubu administration was convinced that the traditional institution remained critical to the country’s development, which explained why the President consulted royal fathers across the country.

“He has invited them into major conversations on security and development. He has acknowledged their stabilising influence in moments of tension. His Renewed Hope Agenda recognises that national progress must begin in communities and harness the credibility of natural leaders. It is within this same spirit of reform and partnership that the broader economic measures of his administration must be understood,” Abbas said.

The Speaker underscored the need to protect the gains already achieved under the Tinubu administration.

He said Nigeria cannot afford to reverse its progress, adding: “The reforms underway must be completed, consolidated and carried forward beyond 2027. This requires unity of purpose and consistent leadership.

“I, therefore, call on our revered traditional rulers to lend their voices, their influence, and their moral authority to ensuring continuity in the years ahead, so that the work we have started is not abandoned midway.”

Abbas assured the monarchs and other Nigerians that the House would remain steadfast partners and allies in championing constitutional safeguards that protect and elevate the traditional institution.
