    Afrobeats sensational singer Tiwa Savage, on Tuesday night attended the Warri Again concert held in Lagos state. 

    Joining other celebrities to perform, Tiwa Savage was however, almost pulled off stage by an overly excited fan.

    According to clips making rounds on social media, the ‘Stamina’ vocalist had moved closer to the fans corner where she was almost knocked off the stage by a female fan who held on to her legs.

    Averting the incident, bouncers came to the swift rescue of Tiwa Savage to salvage the situation.

    The Warri Again concert held its 20th edition on Tuesday, at the Eko Conventional Centre in Lagos.

    This isn’t the first time it is being held in Lagos despite being named after a city in Delta State.

    Award-winning afrobeats sensation, Tiwa Savage, has sought God’s intervention for her illness as she faces the challenge of preparing for two upcoming shows while not feeling well. 

    On her Instagram page, Savage wrote: “God help me, have two shows today and I feel so sick.”

    In another post, the mother of one said she needs “tender loving care.”

    She wrote: “Who loves me enough to send me cheesecake ice cream? I need some tender loving care.”

    The Nation reported that Tiwa Savage had in October postponed all her performances, saying she has been “instructed to be on strict vocal rest for the next few months.”

    Tiwa Savage postpones London show over health challenge

    Singer Tiwa Savage has announced the postponement of all her performances, including her first ever headline arena show in London due to medical condition.

    The self-styled African bad girl said she has been battling a virus for the past few weeks and was instructed to be “on strict vocal rest for the next few months”.

    She disclosed this in a statement, which reads: “To my dear Savage Soldiers, I’ve been fighting off a virus for the past few weeks and was today firmly instructed to be on strict vocal rest for the next few months.

    “I will unfortunately have to postpone all performances including my first ever headline arena show in London.

    “I’m heartbroken and devastated but I have to do this to save what’s left of my voice.

    “I’m so sorry. I love you all and promise to be back performing once I’m fully healed.”

    You can never be queen of afrobeats, Uche Maduagwu drags Tiwa Savage

    Controversial actor Uche Maduagwu has dragged Tiwa Savage over what he called her zero input in the quest of justice for late MohBad.

    Uche, in a video, affirmed that Tiwa Savage can never be the ‘Queen of Afrobeats’.

    Uche’s criticism came in the wake of the tragic death of MohBad.

    While many Nigerians and fans worldwide expressed their grief and called for justice for the crooner, Uche questioned Tiwa Savage’s indifferent reaction to the matter.

    He highlighted the absence of any posts or videos on Tiwa Savage’s social media pages advocating justice for Mohbad.

    Uche argued that a true “Queen of Afrobeats” should have actively participated in calls for justice for her junior colleague in the industry.

    According to him, any female Afrobeats artist who does not support this pressing issue does not qualify for the title of “Queen of Afrobeats.”

    Caption following the post reads: “You can NEVER be the Queen of #Afrobeats even if you buy a thousand brand new Range Rover cars. It’s so sad and unbelievable to know that while Nigerians and the #world Dey MOURN MOHBAD, no single #justiceformohbad post on Aunty TIWA IG, no #video of her talking about am on Twitter, like seriously?     Afrobeats queen, Tiwa Savage, has congratulated her colleague, Asake alongside his team for their historical outing at the 02 Arena in London on August 20, 2023.

    Like many others, Tiwa acknowledged the ‘greatness’ of the Afro-fusion rave of the moment after he effortlessly sold out the 20,000 capacity home to the world’s most popular music, sport, comedy and entertainment.

    She said that what the singer had in store for the audience was evident from his stunning entrance.

    Tiwa said: “His smash track, “Yoga,” was serenading the eager crowd while he was strapped to the railings of a descending military-style helicopter with rear illuminating his record label, YBNL

    “He kicked off his performance with songs from his debut album “Mr Money With The Vibe,” including “Olorun,” “Organise,” “Sunmomi,” “Dupe,” and “Mr Money.

    “The vocalist continued by performing songs from his extensive discography, including the international smash “Lonely at the Top.”

    Albeit midway into his performance of the song “Loaded”, by Tiwa which featured him, the Afrobeats songstress gave him a pleasant surprise as she surfaced on stage, briefly hugged him and they continued to thrill the crowd.

    Top performers including Fireboy, Fridayy, and his label boss, Olamide Baddo, who was beaming with utmost pride as they performed together, were among the other guests who made appearances at the concert.

    Sharing photos and videos captured during their spectacular outing, Tiwa wrote: “@asakemusic A great guy. Congratulations to you and your whole team.”

    SUPERSTAR singer Tiwa Savage has pulled out of her upcoming performance in South Africa following the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians.

    Tiwa, who was billed to perform at the DStv delicious festival on September 21, announced that she was boycotting the show in protest.

    On Twitter @tiwasavage, she wrote, “I refuse to watch the barbaric butchering of my people in SA. This is SICK.

    “For this reason, I will NOT be performing at the upcoming DStv delicious Festival in Johannesburg on the Sept. 21st.

    “My prayers are with all the victims and families affected by this,” she said.

    NAN reports that mixed reactions have trailed her announcement. While she has received massive support for her bold decision, some fans have continued to troll the singer.

    @Kellzamadi said, “I just developed a special kind and love for @TiwaSavage this is remarkable to say the list.”

    @Real Jae tweeted, “We didn’t Call you a Queen for Nothing Tiwa. You are an asset and you are fearless.”

    A South African, @ThusoMatsobane tweeted, “No one has butchered your people but it is fine. Thanks for taking a stand.”

    Tiwa replied that she was boycotting the show, not just for Nigerians killed but for other foreigners that have suffered xenophobic attacks.

    She said, “Killing anyone that is African are my people whether they are Nigerians or not.”

    Comedian Bright Okpocha aka Basketmouth also cancelled his appearance at the upcoming Comic Choice Awards in South Africa.

    He announced his Instagram page @basketmouth, he wrote, “I am not sure how and when we got here.

    “I won’t be attending the Comic Choice Awards this weekend in South Africa as scheduled,” he said.

    Star musician Burna Boy, who has been very vocal about his disdain for what is happening to Nigerians in South Africa, has also vowed to never set foot in the country again.

    He said: “I have not set foot in SA since 2017. And I will not ever go to South Africa again for any reason until the South African government wakes the fuck up and performs a miracle because I don’t know how they can even possibly fix this.”

    The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA)  on Wednesday unveiled Tiwa Savage, Davido, Burna Boy, Simi, Wizkid, Kizz Daniel, Teni, Yemi Alade, Niniola along other international artistes  nominated for  2019 edition of the prestigious award.

    This was made public  during a press conference held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island Lagos by Aderele Niyi, AFRIMA’s Associate Producer.

    Niyi said that the nominees that  cut across Western, Eastern, Central Southern and Northern Africa were carefully picked after  rigorous screenings by a group of professional jury.

    She said thatcsome of the criteria used in arriving at the nominees include:  fairness, creativity, excellence, integrity, originality of their music, authenticity which must reveal African concept among other things.

    According to her, the world music festival will  hold  between Nov.21 to  Nov. 23  2019 in a country that will be announced next month.

    Niyi said that the event was established to reward and celebrate musical works, talents and creativity around the African continent, while promoting the African cultural heritage.

    “The platform is to position Africa as a musical hub for the world as Africans are seen as talented and highly creative.

    “This is going to be  the 6th edition of AFRIMA and I can say that it has been getting better each year; this year’s edition promises to be a unique one,” she said.

    Niyi called for continental  support from African leaders in order to enlarge the scope of   the event for more international acceptance.

    She also urged music artistes to see the platform as theirs for better exploration.

    The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the following were nominated for the best male artistes from   West Africa: Burna boy with his song “Ye”, Davido’s “Wonder Woman”, Kizz Daniel’s “Madu”, Wizkid’s “Fever”.

    Other nominated artistes are : King Promise from Ghana; Salif Keita from Mali, Shatta Wale from Ghana, Sidiky Diabate from Mali and late DJ Arafat from Cote d’Ivoire

    The nominees for the  female category from Nigeria  and their works are : Simi’s “I Dun Care”; Tiwa Savage’s “One”; Teni’s “Case”; Yemi Alade’s “Oh My Gosh”; Niniola’s Bana.

    Others are : Aya Nakamura from Mali; Jossey from  Cote d’Ivoire ; Kanuer Adams from Liberia; Manamba Kante from  Guinea and Mzuee from Ghana.

    The best male artistes nominated from  Central Africa are : C4 Pedro from Angola; Fally Ipupa from  Congo; Locko from  the Cameroon; and Magasco also from the  Cameroon.

    Others are ; Maitre Gims from Congo; Rui Orlando from Angola; Niska from  Congo Brazzaville; Salatiel from the  Cameroon and Ya Levis from the  Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

    The best nominsted  female artistes from  Central Africa are : Anna Joyce from  Angola; Blanche Baily from the Cameroon; and Bruna Tatiana from  Angola.

    Others are; Charlotte Dipand also from the  Cameroon; Daphine from the  Cameroon; Duda from  Angola; Shan’l from Gabon and Titica from Angola.

    Also, the best male artistes from   North Africa are:  Ahmed Soultan from -Morocco; Aminux from  Morocco; Amr Diab from  Egypt; DJ Moh Green from  Algeria; and  Mostafa Hagag Kelso from Egypt.

    Others are: Soolking from  Algeria; Tamer Hosny from -Egypt and Yann Sine from Morocco.

    In the best female categories : Cairokee from Egypt; Kenza Morsfi from  Algeria; Nada Azhari from Morocco; Psychoqueen also from Morocco; Salma Rachid also from Morocco; Sherine from  Egypt and Souhila Ben Lach from Algeria.

    For the best male artistes from  Southern Africa are:  AKA, Nasty C, Prince Kaybee, Casper Nyovest, Black Coffee x David Guette, Sjava from South Africa and Jah Prayzah and Winky D from Zimbabwe.

    Also, nominees for the best female artistes from   Southern Africa are : Ammara Brown, and  Tamy Moyo from Zimbabwe; Zonke, Kelly Khumalo, Nadia Nakai,  and Sho Madjozi from South Africa; Trina South from Zambia and Chikune from Namibia.
