Tonto Dikeh goes ‘conservative’ with dressing

Currently engaged as a speaker at the ongoing ‘Women For Women’ conference holding in Abuja, the dressing of Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh, has been getting attention for being ‘conservative.’

Her recent pictures on Instagram show her in long gowns, skirt and blouse with hair covered in turbans, and all covered up in a hijab like a Muslim woman.

Involved in advocating for the welfare of the less privileged, the sombre outlook of the mother of one raised dust on her Instagram page as some of her fans think it is all a ploy to get sympathy. Recall the actress recently was engaged in amessy fight with her husband which resulted in her leaving her matrimonial home.

However in her defence, another fan, @shugar_1913, believed her dressing was appriopriate for the Ramadan season.

“You should give her credit for being all covered up and still gorgeous,” @shugar_1913 wrote.

Another fan retorted; “How dear u insult her @tontolet, what do mean by that? So dressing like a Muslim now means that you are a Muslim Abi?”

Yet another fan replied saying she could have dresses in a traditional Nigerian attire.

“Are you saying that the two options she has is either to dress this way or dress like she is going to club… Really, don’t we have other decent traditional dresses like Ikwerre traditional wear?

Fans attack Tonto Dikeh for using frog to describe her marriage

Popular actress Tonto Wigo Charity Dikeh-Churchill, better known as Tonto Dikeh recently attracted the attacks of her fans on her Instagram page as she throws shades at her estranged husband using frogs in her description.

Recall that Tonto Dikeh, who was dishing out marriage and relationship teaching through her Instagram page, broke up with her husband allegedly for domestic violence and other sundry issues a few months ago.

She vividly compared tolerance in marriage and relationship to the level of tolerance of the frog when being exposed to varying degrees of heat in a pot of water.

    She said:

Put a frog into a vessel fill with water and start heating the water. As the temperature of the water begins to rise, the frog adjusts its body temperature accordingly. The frog keeps adjusting its body temperature with the increasing temperature of the water. Just when the water is about to reach boiling point, the frog cannot adjust anymore. At this point, the frog decides to jump out.

The frog tries to jump but it is unable to do so because it has lost all its strength in adjusting with the rising water temperature.

    Very soon the frog dies.
    What killed the frog?
    Think about it!
I know many of us will say the boiling water. But the truth about what killed the frog was its own inability to decide when to jump out.
We all need to adjust to people & situations, but we need to be sure when we need to adjust & when we need to move on. There are times when we need to face the situation and take appropriate actions.
If we allow people to exploit us
physically, emotionally, financially, spiritually or mentally they will continue to do so.
Let us decide when to jump!
Let’s jump while we still have the strength. Are you ready to #Jump

In the reactions, some fans blamed her for embarrassing her husband in the media, urging her to apologise to him. She was reminded of how she praised God for using him to make her a better woman that she now claims to be.

Another fan pleaded with her to make up with her husband, adding that her marriage has been a source of inspiration for many others. The fan stated: “I am not a I.G person, but I always comes up here to read your sweet and motivated messages you used to put up here. I referred so many women to your page including my own wife and my friends wife’s both black and white women. But you let me down and you let God down.”

Generally, Tonto Dikeh was advised to make the conscious effort to make her marriage work once again as fans disapprove of her reactions and disengagement from her husband.

She said: “After picking up my son from school, I saw a man being thrown out of a speeding tricycle. It was around 1:40 p.m. The sight was horrible. I saw this from a distance. I watched his head serve as a landing plate and I watched his lifeless body slumped.

“I was in the car with my son. I was scared. I was trembling as I stopped my car. I have never been in a situation like this before. I prayed for a second and heard my baby let out a scream on seeing the horror.

“I stepped out of the car, went to the middle of the road trying to stop others to help me save this young man. I was ignored but to God be the glory, a few great people stopped.

“He was not breathing. Not responding. Everyone thought he was dead but I told them that as long as my hands have been laid on this young man in prayers, he will be fine. They helped put him in my car with only a Good Samaritan motor mechanic agreeing to follow me.

“We have since taken him to the hospital. His bill is being taken care of by the Tonto Dikeh Foundation and we are trying to locate his family and friends.

“We refer to him as John Doe because we don’t have his name yet as he is on oxygen. Doctors said he is stabilized and will be ok. Glory be to God. I will be posting his face and full name with his permission as soon as he can communicate. Please pray for him.”

  • Tonto Dikeh vows to disgrace Churchill, family source

A source close to the Churchill family has described as laughable, claims by Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh that she bought her estranged husband, Olakunle Churchill, the vehicles they were driving.

According to the source, who chose to remain anonymous, Churchill is in possession of the keys and documents of the cars.

“If she really did buy them, she should have taken the keys and receipts when she was leaving. No one knows why she is doing what she is doing. Maybe, she is using their son as bait and as a means to get sympathy from the people on social media,” the source said.

Continuing, the source claimed that the actress wanted her foundation merged with her husband’s Big Church Foundation, but bearing her name.

“That was why, last year, after the Big Church Foundation had organised its work, the Tonto Dikeh Foundation organised its own too. She did that because she wanted the NGOs to be joined together and handed over to her, so that she can use her celebrity status and run the whole show. Churchill, on the other hand, was passionate about the whole thing, as a way to help the masses and did not want it to be hijacked by someone who just wanted it for show,” the source continued.

The source further stated that when things got to a point where Churchill could not condone it any further, she boasted that she would use her overwhelming influence on social media to drag his name to the mud, then rubbish his foundation.

The source also said that there is no truth to the report that Churchill ever assaulted her as he never laid a finger on her.

Recall that since news broke that her marriage has hit the rocks, the actress used the social media to pour her heart, the latest being that her husband infected her with STDs.
