    Tunji-Ojo: No opposition can stop Tinubu’s re-election in 2027

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has declared that no level of opposition or political gang-up can stop President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Tunji-Ojo, speaking through his support group, BTO for PBAT, on Saturday, said the President’s bold economic reforms and transformative policies have made his second-term bid “unstoppable.”

Speaking on behalf of the group, Folajimi Adewumi expressed unwavering confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership and the preparedness of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to retain power.

“Nobody can stop President Tinubu from winning the 2027 general election. Unless there are no elections in Nigeria or the President himself opts not to run, nothing can prevent Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu from emerging victorious in 2027,” Adewumi stated.

He reaffirmed the group’s strong belief in Tinubu’s political strength and wide-reaching influence across the country.

According to Adewumi, members of BTO for PBAT 2027 have been traversing various parts of the nation to gauge public sentiment and showcase the administration’s achievements.

Also speaking, the Director-General of the group, Ogbeni Adojutelegan Adesuyi, said the APC had drawn vital lessons from its 2023 electoral experiences.

Adesuyi noted that the party had critically reviewed its performance, particularly losses in strategic states like Lagos and Kano, and had since revitalized its grassroots structures.

    Ondo APC elders back Tunji-Ojo

Ondo State All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders Movement for Tinubu has thrown its weight behind Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, as the driving force behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027  re-election campaign in Ondo State.

The group, led by its Coordinator, Otunba Agboola Kelly, urged APC members to unite behind Tunji-Ojo’s efforts, which aligned with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s leadership.

In a statement, the elders dismissed speculations about Tunji-Ojo’s initiatives as malicious attempts to undermine his contributions.

They described his support for groups such as Grassroots Movement for Tinubu, Asiwaju Mandate Group and PBAT Continuity Project as a strategic masterstroke.

The group noted that Tunji-Ojo’s leadership delivered an unmatched 81.2 per cent vote share in Akoko North-West during the 2024 governorship election, proving his prowess.

They debunked claims that Tunji-Ojo failed to consult Governor Aiyedatiwa, saying their partnership powered the 2024 victory.

The elders warned detractors to desist from fuelling division, urging APC members to engage Governor Aiyedatiwa directly with any concern.

The movement expressed confidence that Tunji-Ojo’s strategy would deliver over 80 per cent voter turnout, surpassing the 2023 record of 67 per cent.

It affirmed its commitment to working with Tunji-Ojo to deliver a historic mandate for Tinubu in 2027, vowing Ondo would not weaken APC’s national chain.

AMG urges Tunji-Ojo to ignore detractors

The Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG), a political support organisation campaigning for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, has urged the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to remain steadfast in his decision to promote the agenda of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the President despite recent criticisms.

In a statement signed by the group’s  Director-General, Asiwaju Olumuyiwa Asagunla, and Chairman of the Leaders’ Council, Senator Yele Omogunwa, the group described the recent media attacks on the minister as “a desperate attempt by political detractors and failed opportunists threatened by his growing influence and outstanding record of service.”

AMG commended Tunji-Ojo’s achievements, saying he had transformed lives and strengthened democratic structures far beyond expectations.

“Beyond political rhetoric, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has transformed lives and strengthened democratic structures far beyond what anyone thought possible for a minister without executive powers. His record of empowerment and strategic leadership stands tall in Ondo State and across Nigeria,” the group stated.

The group also recalled Tunji-Ojo’s pivotal role during the political crisis that almost led to the impeachment of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa while he was Deputy Governor, saying his intervention helped preserve political stability in Ondo State.

“At a time when the state was on the brink of political turmoil, Dr. Tunji-Ojo’s intervention was decisive. His timely mediation helped to restore calm and protect the integrity of Ondo State’s political structure,” the statement read.

The group praised Tunji-Ojo’s unwavering commitment to President Tinubu’s administration and second-term bid, describing him as “one of the few public figures who have matched loyalty with strategic action.”

According to AMG, Tunji-Ojo has played a major role in strengthening the APC’s political base in Ondo State by facilitating the defection of several prominent opposition figures, including Tony Ala, Yele Akinya, Alabi Ebenezer, Alhaja Olufunmilayo Way, Omololu Falolu, and Dayo Awude, among others.

“BTO’s bridge-building efforts have rendered the opposition almost non-existent in Ondo State,” the group said.

The group further noted that Tunji-Ojo personally funded the furnishing of the APC Secretariat in Akure and has consistently sponsored ward and local government meetings across the state to keep the party active and united.

“Three major campaign organisations working for President Tinubu’s re-election, including GMT and AMG, are largely supported and funded by Dr. Tunji-Ojo. This is what genuine commitment looks like, not noise-making or political grandstanding,” Asagunla and Omogunwa added.

Reacting to reports that some political actors have urged President Tinubu to prevent Tunji-Ojo from contesting the 2028 Ondo governorship election, AMG maintained that every Nigerian has the constitutional right to seek elective office.

“Let it be known that every citizen, including Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, reserves the democratic right to seek elective office. However, the Minister has neither declared nor hinted at any ambition. Those spreading such rumours only expose their fears and affirm his political worth,” the statement said.

The group stressed that Tunji-Ojo remains focused on his duties as Minister of Interior and on delivering the mandates of President Tinubu’s administration.

“Those jittery over an undeclared ambition are merely fighting their own shadows. When and if the time comes, it will be the will of the people, not propaganda that determines who leads Ondo State. Until then, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo remains committed to service, performance, and progress for all,” the group concluded.

Asiwaju Mandate Group urges Tunji-Ojo to ignore critics

The Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG) has called on Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to remain focused and undistracted by the recent wave of media propaganda orchestrated by political detractors who feel threatened by his rising influence and unmatched record of service.

In a statement jointly signed by the Director-General of the Group, Asiwaju Olumuyiwa Asagunla, and the Chairman, Leaders’ Council, Senator Yele Omogunwa, the group described the ongoing media attacks against Dr. Tunji-Ojo (BTO)  as “a desperate attempt by political jobbers and failed opportunists to malign a man whose impact has become too significant and conspicuous to be ignored.”

The statement reads in part: “Beyond political rhetoric, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has transformed lives and strengthened democratic structures far beyond what anyone thought possible for a minister without executive powers. His record of empowerment and strategic leadership stands tall in Ondo State and the nation’s political space.”

The group recalled with emphasis the pivotal role Tunji-Ojo played during the political crisis that nearly led to the impeachment of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa when he served as Deputy Governor.

“At a time when the State was on the brink of political turmoil, Dr. Tunji-Ojo’s intervention was decisive. He stood firmly to ensure that members of the State House of Assembly earlier compromised were revived to look up to the cabal then working against the Deputy Governor. It was his timely mediation and influence that helped preserve stability and the sanctity of Ondo State’s political structure,” the statement reads.

AMG further commended Tunji-Ojo’s unrelenting efforts in sustaining the political mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, describing him as “one of the few public figures who have matched loyalty with strategic action.”

The group also highlighted Tunji-Ojo’s unprecedented contributions to strengthening the APC structure across Ondo State.

Addressing recent calls by some political actors urging President Tinubu to stop the Minister from contesting the 2028 Ondo Governorship election, AMG stated emphatically that the right to aspire is constitutionally guaranteed and ultimately rests with the people.

“Let it be known that every citizen, including Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, reserves the democratic right to seek elective office. However, the Honourable Minister has neither declared any ambition nor hinted at such.

“Those spreading unfounded rumours are only exposing their fears and inadvertently affirming his political worth. For now, his total focus remains on delivering effectively as Minister of Interior and ensuring the success of President Tinubu’s administration.”

NANS urges Tinubu to shield Interior Minister Tunji-Ojo from false NYSC allegations

The Senate arm of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to protect the Minister of Interior, Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, from what it described as falsehoods and fabricated NYSC scandals aimed at tarnishing his reputation.

NANS said Nigeria cannot afford to lose a resourceful, visionary, and result-oriented minister like Tunji-Ojo, whose dedication continues to advance President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

In a statement signed by the NANS Senate President, Usman Adamu Nagwaza, the student body described the recent allegations as “laughable and suspicious,” noting that they only emerged following the Minister’s remarkable achievements in office.

“It is quite laughable and suspicious that those now peddling falsehoods and fabricating an NYSC-related scandal against Tunji-Ojo have suddenly found their voices only after his historic achievements as Minister of Interior,” the statement read.

He said, “Where were these self-acclaimed crusaders of truth when he served meritoriously as a distinguished member of the House of Representatives, sponsoring impactful bills and touching lives across Nigeria? Where were they during his nomination, screening, and ratification as Minister when every detail of his background was meticulously scrutinized and cleared by the relevant authorities?

“Their sudden emergence at a time when the Honourable Minister is breaking records and transforming the Ministry of Interior clearly exposes their mischief and envy. This desperate attempt to tarnish his hard-earned reputation is not only baseless but also a calculated distraction from his laudable achievements and must be seen for what it truly is: a failed smear campaign by frustrated detractors.

“It is so disheartening and melancholic that some unpatriotic and retrogressive Nigerians, who ought to get better with the nation’s progress, are often the ones calling for the head of those who serve as catalysts for such progress, persistently doing everything possible to bring them down. These individuals have no love for the country, lack conscience, and detest the growth and development of the nation.

“The continued backlash, defamation, and maligning of Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo (BTO), the Minister of Interior, points in one clear direction that the enemies of Nigeria’s progress and growth remain unyielding and unrepentant in their pursuit to bring down the Renewed Hope Starboy.

“While the unprecedented achievements and monumental strides of BTO continue to leave us in awe, these individuals, driven by bitterness and envy, have resorted to constant name-calling and blackmail. This attitude is utterly unpatriotic and must be condemned.

“These pathetic individuals flooded the media space in the last couple of months to peddle a corruption agenda against the astute and hardworking Minister of Interior. However, their plot failed and was met with staunch resistance.

“Is it not ridiculous that, having failed in their previous attempt to malign the Honourable Minister, these same individuals have resurfaced with yet another fabricated scandal? This is a direct attack aimed at bringing disrepute to the Honourable Minister and must be completely discarded.

He said, “Where were these self-acclaimed crusaders of truth when he served meritoriously as a distinguished member of the House of Representatives, sponsoring impactful bills and touching lives across Nigeria? This desperate attempt to tarnish his hard-earned reputation is not only baseless but also a calculated distraction from his laudable achievements and must be seen for what it truly is, a failed smear campaign by frustrated detractors.

“Mr. President, we must first commend your visionary leadership and meticulous judgment in appointing Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo as a cabinet member to drive the Renewed Hope Agenda. Your decision to entrust him with the responsibility of overseeing the Ministry of Interior has proven to be one of the most impactful and transformative choices of your administration.

“Hon. Tunji-Ojo has not only justified the confidence reposed in him but has also become a major catalyst in the actualization of your Renewed Hope vision through his unprecedented reforms, innovation, and commitment to service delivery.

“It is, therefore, imperative to bring to your attention that the ongoing attempts by certain individuals to peddle baseless scandals against him are nothing more than a calculated plot to tarnish his image and, by extension, cast aspersions on your administration’s integrity and success.

“We urge you, Mr. President, to do everything within your power to protect Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, who remains a symbol of excellence, integrity, and the true spirit of the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

    APC elders defend Tunji-Ojo’s integrity

The Ondo State (APC) Elders’ Movement for Tinubu 2027, under the leadership of its Coordinator, Otunba Agboola Kelly, has defended the integrity of the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

A statement by Kelly said: “We view with utmost disdain and condemnation the so-called “ultimatum” issued by Integrity Watch Nigeria—a thinly veiled attempt by mischief-makers and political opportunists to resurrect long-buried, thoroughly debunked falsehoods aimed at tarnishing the reputation of a dedicated public servant whose integrity and contributions to our nation’s progress are beyond reproach.

“As custodians of the progressive values that define the APC and ardent supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, we stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Dr. Tunji-Ojo.

”This baseless onslaught, recycling allegations from 2023 that have been exhaustively investigated and dismissed by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), smacks of desperation from those envious of BTO’s meteoric rise and unyielding commitment to Ondo State’s pride.

“It is a calculated distraction from the transformative reforms he has spearheaded at the Ministry of Interior—reforms that have digitised passport services, promoted over 20,000 paramilitary officers, and fortified our borders against threats, earning him direct commendation from Mr. President in his Independence Day address.

“We, the elders of Ondo State, who have witnessed generations of leadership, affirm without equivocation:

”On the Fabricated Contract Allegations: The claims linking Dr. Tunji-Ojo to impropriety in the ₦438.1 million consultancy contract awarded to New Planet Project Limited are not only outdated but maliciously twisted. As verified by Corporate Affairs Commission records, the Minister divested his directorship in 2019, long before his ministerial appointment.

”The CCB and EFCC probes in 2024 cleared him unequivocally, finding zero conflict of interest. Public service rules protect passive shareholding, and BTO has never influenced contracts in any ministry, least of all one outside his purview.

”These smears, tied to the unrelated Betta Edu matter, ignore the competitive bidding process that ensured transparency and value for vulnerable Nigerians.

”On the NYSC Certificate Slander: This tired trope, first peddled amid 2023 political intrigues in Ondo, has been repeatedly validated as authentic by the NYSC itself.

”Dr. Tunji-Ojo’s remobilisation and discharge in 2020 complied fully with the NYSC Act, as confirmed during his Senate screening. No court, no credible body has sustained these forgery lies—they are the handiwork of ethnic jingoists and sore losers who cannot stomach a young, innovative Yoruba son excelling on merit.

    Tunji-Ojo’s magic wand

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR has made numerous appointments as the President of Nigeria, but one choice stands out as particularly astute: the selection of Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo as Minister for Interior. For President Tinubu, Olubunmi represents a vital asset, bringing youthful energy and intellect to the complex task of managing Nigeria’s affairs since his appointment in 2023. Despite being one of the youngest members of the cabinet, he has demonstrated that effective leadership and capability are not solely determined by age. If there is a strong commitment to deliver results, even the youngest leaders can achieve significant impacts.

Since taking on his role, Olubunmi has made remarkable strides in transforming the Ministry of Interior, effectively rewriting the narrative surrounding its operations. His efforts have positioned him as a pivotal figure in the administration, closely aligned with the Renewed Hope mandate aimed at revitalizing Nigeria. Under his stewardship, the nation has seen substantial improvements in immigration processes. Several innovative ideas have been implemented, streamlining what was once a cumbersome and often frustrating system.

For instance, the introduction of E-gates at Nigeria’s airports has facilitated the swift collection of passports, while a contactless application process greatly enhances user experience. Additionally, the simplification of visa categories for investors and tourists has significantly bolstered Nigeria’s appeal as a destination, fostering a more inviting environment for economic growth and tourism. These initiatives represent a remarkable turnaround in Nigeria’s immigration landscape, reflecting positively on Olubunmi’s leadership.

Skeptics who initially doubted his capabilities are now left acknowledging his impactful reforms, which have garnered international recognition for Nigeria. To further ease the passport application process, Olubunmi has successfully partnered with a private investor to establish a state-of-the-art passport printing facility within Nigeria. This innovation is anticipated to produce over 500,000 passports daily, effectively eliminating the previous reliance on foreign production and reducing wait times for citizens.

Moreover, Olubunmi has prioritized national security by collaborating with data agencies to bolster safety measures in alignment with global standards. By implementing new protocols for documenting individuals entering and exiting the country, he is actively countering terrorism and enhancing the overall security framework. These improvements have not only elevated the perception of Nigeria on the global stage but also reinforced the value and integrity of the Nigerian passport.

As he continues to receive accolades for dismantling bureaucratic barriers within the Ministry of Interior, Olubunmi has also faced resistance from individuals reluctant to embrace change. However, he has resolutely communicated that those attempting to undermine his initiatives will be held accountable and removed from their positions. Sources indicate that the Akoko-born former lawmaker remains undeterred in his mission, focused on achieving a transformative turnaround for Nigeria, ensuring that the nation adopts a more cosmopolitan perspective on the global landscape.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders’ Movement in Ondo State has lauded the Minister of Interior, Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his steadfast support and commitment to President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement on Monday by its Coordinator, Otunba Agboola Kelly, the group described Tunji-Ojo as a “God-given and illustrious son” of Ondo State, whose efforts have significantly boosted the activities of pro-Tinubu groups across the state.

According to the statement, Tunji-Ojo’s contributions have particularly strengthened the Ondo State APC Elders’ Movement for Tinubu 2027, which continues to expand in membership and influence.

Interior Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has said there is “no fight” between him and Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Some elders of All Progressives Congress, under the aegis of Ondo Mandate Elders Forum, had offered to intervene in a “perceived rift” between Aiyedatiwa and Tunji-Ojo. They had urged both men to work together, stressing that the state cannot afford a crisis ahead of 2027.

There have been claims Dr. Tunji-Ojo and Aiyedatiwa were at a crossroads, especially over rising support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.

During a medical outreach yesterday at Ikare-Akoko in Akoko North East organised by Grassroots Movement for Tinubu (GMT) for residents of Ondo North Senatorial District, Tunji-Ojo assured the people there was no conflict between him and the governor.

He described claims of a rift as “baseless and mere speculation”.

The minister, represented by Bode Obanla, said his focus was getting a solid support to project achievements of President Tinubu.

“There is no fight between me and the governor. What matters is that we work to project achievements of Tinubu.

“Politics is local, and my duty is to also support groups committed to promoting the work of President Tinubu,” he said.

According to him, GMT is not an Ondo State-based organisation but a nationwide movement with a track record of innovative programmes.

He lauded the group’s grassroots initiatives, including medical outreach, pledging support for the group.

“Any group mobilising for Asiwaju is welcome. GMT has shown commendable initiatives, and I will keep supporting efforts that take the message of the President to the grassroots,” Tunji-Ojo added.

GMT’s Director General, Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, said the free medical outreach targeted about 1,000 beneficiaries per senatorial district and would extend to constituencies.

Yusuf-Ogunleye said the initiative is a way of complementing Tinubu’s policies.

“Health is wealth. We will partner government, and we will continue to do it,” he said.

GMT’s Woman Leader, Mrs. Olamide Falana, reaffirmed the group’s commitment to the President.
