  • Ugwuanyi provides succor to neglected community

There was excitement as Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State yesterday paid a surprise visit to Amaigbo/Amawusa suburb in Obiagu, Ogui Nike, Enugu North Local Government Area, to identify with them and know how they were faring.

Ugwuanyi, who was cheered by jubilant residents of the area, teeming supporters and admirers, trekked to the interior part of the community and took time to listen to them and to ascertain the challenges they encounter with a view to addressing them.

After identifying their basic needs, the governor directed the immediate restoration of electricity to the suburb for the people to enjoy constant power supply. He promised them that his commissioner for works and infrastructure will visit next week to take necessary action towards the rehabilitation of the road and connection of the bridge that will link the area with the neighboring communities.

The governor offered immediate appointment to two residents of the area as his Executive Assistants, amid jubilation and reiterated his administration’s commitment towards the wellbeing of the people of the state, who he described as the true heroes of democracy.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Mr. Emeka Eze thanked the governor for the unscheduled visit and commended his humility and passion for their wellbeing. He also applauded the governor for the quick intervention he made to ameliorate their plight, stressing that the gesture has gone a long way to give them a sense of belonging as citizens of the state.

He therefore assured the governor of their total support for his re-election in March this year for him to continue the good work he has started.

  • Free Xmas ride: Beneficiaries hail Ugwuanyi

Indigenes of Enugu State who benefited from Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s free transportation to return to the state for the festive season have poured encomium on the governor for his magnanimity and commitment to the wellbeing of the people of the state.

The returnees, who returned safely, thanked Ugwuanyi for making it possible for them to be home to celebrate Christmas and the New Year with their loved ones, recalling that the governor extended the same gesture to them last year.

The visibly excited indigenes, after they were formally received by the Managing Director of Enugu State Transport Company Limited (ENTRACO), Mr. Bob Itanyi and his team, stated that they had a smooth journey and appreciated God for the safe trip.

The beneficiaries begged God to bless the governor and also prayed for his resounding victory at the forthcoming general election  in 2019, declaring their support for his re-election bid.

Speaking, Mrs. Ngozika Mmadu, who returned from Benue State, said: “We thank God for this magnanimity from our Governor, for remembering us by giving us free transport. May God bless him. It shows he has us in mind. I was not prepared to come back before but immediately I heard that our Governor has given us free transport, I decided to come home.

“What I have to tell Enugu people is that as 2019 approaches, that they should please re-elect him, so that he will continue to lead us because his administration has been very favourable to us.  He will win by the grace of God.”

  • Ndi Enugu in Diaspora endorse Ugwuanyi for second term

A delegation of indigenes of Enugu State in the Diaspora, at the weekend paid a solidarity visit to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, at the Government House, Enugu and unanimously endorsed him for a second term in office.

The excited indigenes of the state who returned home from various parts of the world declared that they “are solidly, proudly and firmly standing with you our hardworking governor in 2019 gubernatorial election.”

Presenting their stance, Sir Anterus Chikaobi Ezeh from Ndi Enugu Europe disclosed that the decision was reached after they “carefully and diligently appraised objectively the economic reality of our country when you assumed office as our Governor in May 29, 2015.”

Commending Governor Ugwuanyi for surmounting the challenges, the Enugu Indigenes in the Diaspora told the governor that they are impressed with “your numerous developmental achievements in these past years in Enugu State and the peace you have entrenched in the state.”

  • Ugwuanyi is grassroots development governor of the year

The management and Board of Editors of Independent Newspapers Limited, publishers of Daily Independent, Saturday Independent and Sunday Independent, have nominated Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as Governor of the Year 2018 for Grassroots Development.

The Sun and Vanguard newspapers recently named Ugwuanyi as their Governor of the Year for entrenching peace and good governance in Enugu State.

Presenting the letter of nomination yesterday to Ugwuanyi at the Government House in Enugu, the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of Independent Newspapers Limited, Mr. Ade Ogidan, stated that the selection committee took the decision based on “the pragmatism, commitment and courage” the governor exhibited since he assumed office in transforming “the state to the cynosure of all eyes as regards infrastructural and grassroots development”.

Ogidan added that the governor, through his purposeful and responsive leadership, “positively improved the socio-economic condition of the people in the state, despite the dwindling resources at the disposal of the state government”.

  • Ugwuanyi swears in two commissioners

ENUGU State governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on Friday swore in Mrs. Eucharia Uche Offor and Prince Emeka Mamah as commissioners in his cabinet. Mrs. Offor, who was the immediate past commissioner for finance, resigned her position to contest for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for Igbo-Etiti/UzoUwani Federal Con stituency, while Prince Mamah, who served as the former Special Adviser to ex-Governor Sullivan Chime on Transport, vied for the same ticket in IgboEze North/ Udenu Federal Constituency.

Swearing in the new commissioners, Ugwuanyi stated that the decision was “to fortify the machinery of government and further enhance good governance and service delivery in Enugu State.” The governor hinted that in furtherance of the above, “measures will soon be taken to fill all existing vacancies in the composition of the boards of various parastatals and establishments in the state.” Congratulating the newly sworn in commissioners on their “well deserved appointments”, Ugwuanyi expressed confidence that they will deploy their wealth of experience and expertise to add value to the government and governance of the state. Responding, Mrs. Offor,, who spoke on their behalf, expressed gratitude to the governor for finding them worthy to serve in his administration and the people of Enugu State, pledging their loyalty and commitment to the advancement of peace and good governance in the state.

  • Ugwuanyi urges speedy completion of projects

Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has urged contractors handling various government projects in the state to continue to deliver quality jobs and adhere to completion period.

Ugwuanyi, who spoke through his deputy, Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo, when she inspected some projects, reiterated the government’s commitment towards providing quality infrastructure for the people to enjoy more democracy dividends.

The sites she inspected include the Ogurute-Mkpamute-Igogoro-Ikpamodo-Okpo-Amaja road and the Ogurute-Umuogbo-Umuopu-Ette road in Igbo-Eze Local Government Area and the State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA) dump site road at Ogui in Enugu North Local Government Area.

Others include the Igbo Ano Specialist Hospital; the Agbani District Hospital, Nkanu West Local Government Area; Nsukka Magistrates’ Court building and the erosion control project on Ugwogo Nike-Opi Nsukka road.

Mrs. Ezeilo, who was accompanied by the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, = Greg Nnaji, said the essence of the inspection was to ensure that contractors live up to expectation and “deliver these essential amenities to the benefiting communities in record time”.

  • Ugwuanyi: Matters arising

For a better appreciation of the tenure of Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration in Enugu State, it will be rational to assess its stewardship from the standpoint of the nation’s economic adversities when the governor took over the mantle of leadership in May 29, 2015.

When the governor assumed office, the country was in recession and confronted with various degrees of economic challenges as a result of drastic drop in the crude oil prices which adversely affected the state’s allocations from the federation account.

This recurring decimal of paucity of funds, coupled with the inherited debt profile and other huge wage bills to be serviced, no doubt posed a serious threat to the speedy actualization of the government’s well-thought-out vision for the people of the state as contained in its four-point agenda.

Enugu State was among the worst hit, considering that it is third from the bottom of the revenue allocation chart from the federation account and predominantly a civil service state with high expectations for socio-economic expansion borne out of its enviable status as the historical capital of the Eastern region, old Anambra State, old Enugu State and capital of the present Enugu State.

The situation was really a source of worry to the extent that the immediate past governor of the state, His Excellency, Sullivan Chime, during the thanksgiving Mass to commemorate the end of his administration, acknowledged that Enugu’s purse was growing leaner as federal allocations dwindled to an all-time low.

The nation’s economic challenges then was so bad that 27 states, Enugu State excluded, could not pay workers’ salaries, not to talk of embarking on capital projects. The era of sharing of excess crude oil funds which enabled past governments at the state and local government levels to execute sundry capital projects became a thing of the past as the governors resorted to bailout funds from the federal government to enable them to meet up the basic pressing needs of paying workers’ salaries and execution of projects, among others.

They were consequently tagged “bailout governors” and the burning question then was “is this the best time to be a governor?”

But, Gov. Ugwuanyi in his wisdom, and passion for wellbeing of the people as well as rapid development of the state, remained undaunted in his vision to build Enugu State of the founding fathers’ dreams – to deploy government services to create fair and equal opportunity for every willing citizen to make a living and create wealth, educate our children, and enjoy life in a peaceful and secure environment.

In actualizing the lofty dreams, the people’s governor, constituted a 15-man Enugu State Economic Advisory Committee headed by Msgr. Obiora Ike, to advise his administration on the best policies that would engender sustainable economic growth to lead the state out of the nation’s economic crunch, through restructuring, re-engineering and reinvigoration of the state’s economy.

The innovative approach gave birth to the first ever Enugu State Investment Summit christened “Oganiru Enugu State”, which was successfully organized to showcase the economic potentials of the state and woo investors.

Recently, Enugu State was rated by the World Bank Group as the second most advanced state in Nigeria towards the frontier of global good practices with regards to Ease of Doing Business.

On workers’ salary which was a major puzzle for most states, the story is quite different in Enugu State as workers continue to receive their pay on the 23rd of every month, even when it falls on a Saturday or Sunday. The state government last year paid the 13th month salary to its workers as Christmas bonus and also pays the pensioners on or before the end of the month.

Through an impressive increase in the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), as a result of far reaching reforms introduced in the sector by the governor, this years’ June and July salaries were paid without the receipt of the federal allocations.

At the peak of all these challenges, execution of capital development projects were going on speedily across the three senatorial districts, coupled with state government’s swift interventions on failed sections of federal roads in the state.

Consequently, Gov. Ugwuanyi who was recently named the “2018 Sun Governor of the Year” for good governance; rapid rural development; traders and youth empowerments; nurturing of peace and harmony among the political class and critical support for security agencies, among others, has indeed kept faith with his campaign promises to the people of Enugu State.

Presently, the state government has so far spent close to N50 billion on road construction and rehabilitation across the state, covering about 450 kilometres.

Apart from road projects, the Gov. Ugwuanyi administration has also taken bold steps in other spheres of development which have endeared him to the people of the state and beyond and equally earned him a gale of endorsements for his re-election by virtually all strata of groups in the state, including the religious and traditional institutions.

The areas include the traders empowerment scheme which has so far assisted 2400 genuine traders with the sum of N50,000 each to grow their various businesses; construction and renovation of over 589 primary and secondary school blocks in the state as well as procurement of learning tools and employment of over 4000 teachers; empowerment of 750 youths under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) programme.

Others include, provision of 100 units one bedroom apartment for 100 lucky civil servants under grade level 1 to 10; rehabilitation of facilities at Ajali and Oji River Water Treatment Schemes which has consequentially improved the supply of water to Enugu metropolis and its environs; construction and renovation of district hospitals and health centres in the state, especially in the rural areas under the primary healthcare programme, such as the Poly Clinic, Asata, Enugu and Udi District Hospital; construction of  14 new court buildings and open registries in the judicial divisions and magisterial districts across the state, which the state’s Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Ngozi Emehelu, described as “unprecedented infrastructural development that has not been witnessed in the entire South East” and “the largest single intervention in infrastructural development in the Judiciary of Enugu State for over 20 years”; and other remarkable achievements too numerous to mention.

On rural development and good governance, Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration in line with its vision to create direct positive impacts on the lives of the masses, the long forgotten and neglected, channeled the bulk of its development projects to the rural areas – a clear and systematic departure from the past when most major achievements were concentrated in the urban areas.

This vision which is novel in the state’s history was also in keeping with the governor’s inaugural address to “pay a special attention to rural development,” to open up the rural areas, create more urban centres, develop fresh economic opportunities and reduce pressure on Enugu metropolis for socio-economic expansion.

Three months into his administration, Gov. Ugwuanyi spearheaded the massive development of urban and rural roads across the three senatorial districts of the state: in Emene, Abakpa-Nike, 9th Mile Corner and Nsukka – a University town founded over half a century ago and the second largest town in the state, among other satellite towns.

Shortly after, his administration simultaneously executed 35 grassroots development projects across the 17 Local Government Areas of Enugu State, which ensured that every council benefited at least one project from the programme.

Today, we have the N10 million “one community, one project” scheme, which has also recorded a huge success in expanding development to the frontiers of the rural areas – an initiative that has made it possible for communities to decide their priority projects, ensuring that areas that never experienced any government presence benefited, accordingly.  All these were going on as completion of works on projects started by the previous administration were given adequate attention, such as the state-of-the-art Enugu State Diagnostic Centre, (now completed) the first of its kind in the South East geo-political zone, established to create hospital chains to make Enugu the preferred destination for receiving high quality and affordable healthcare delivery in the country.

Besides the foregoing, the following road projects were equally among the projects successfully delivered to standard by Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration with special positive impact on the lives of the people, especially the lowly and long neglected.

The two 9th Mile Bypasses in Udi Local Government Area, which have relieved travelers the stress of traffic gridlock in the area, especially during festivities. The Agbani-Amurri road in Nkanu West LGA, newly constructed for a community that has never experienced any form of development on its land in the past 100 years. The Ogonogoeji-Ndiagu-Akpugo road (from Atavu bailey bridge to Afor Onovo), in the same council, which has a historic and symbolic attraction as the first state government road project in the entire Akpugo zone since the creation of Enugu State.

Another project that has a direct impact on the lives of the lowly and neglected is the Ngenevu road, which was constructed with the provision of two 500-KVA transformers by the governor for the suburb of Enugu that had not witnessed any form of government presence. Other high density and suburbs such as the Iva Valley, the Ugbodogwu, the Ogwuagor, Abakpa Nike, Emene, etc, have equally benefited.

The story is the same in Eha-Amufu, Isi-Uzo Local Government Area – another long neglected agrarian community that is currently witnessing massive reconstruction of the Nkalagu-Eha Amufu road, after over 35 years of neglect.

Not too long ago, Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration ensured that Enugu State had additional five new state-of-the-art fire service stations across the three senatorial, districts after 56 years three stations were built in the state, then Eastern Region.

The government has consistently been maintaining roads built by past administrations and has equally engaged 1000 youths under the Enugu Clean Team Project to clean up the state to enhance and sustain its rating as one of the healthier and cleanest cities in the country, among other landmark achievements. Enugu State is truly in the hands of God.

  • Our policies restoring Enugu’s legacy- Ugwuanyi

ENUGU State governor,  Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has stated that the deliberate policies introduced by his administration have restored the legacy of the state as a breeding ground for sporting talents in Nigeria. Ugwuanyi added that the policies have also ensured that the state reaped the full benefits of sports and sports tourism to the socio-economic development of the state.

Speaking while receiving the National Sports Festival Torch, popularly known as Torch of Unity, from the delegation from the Federal Ministry of Sports, Abuja, when it arrived Enugu State, the governor noted with gladness that “the results from our investments in this regard have been most rewarding and encouraging.” The governor disclosed that the investments were

responsible for the remarkable feats recorded under his administration by the Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, which lifted the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League trophy and the recent 2018 NFF/AITEO cup after a dramatic comeback. His words: “Just a couple of weeks ago, our darling Rangers International Football Club of Enugu won the Challenge Cup

now known as the AITEO Cup after 35 years of its last triumph in the competition. The club had broken another jinx two years earlier when it lifted the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League trophy for the first time in 32 years. Also in the same year, an athlete from Enugu State, Mrs. Lucy Ejike, won the gold medal at the Paralympics held in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.”

  • Ugwuanyi’s show of strength in selfless service

The Enugu State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, as usual featured prominently in the news in the last three weeks. During the period under review, Gov. Ugwuanyi was named the “2018 Sun Governor of the Year” for good governance; rapid rural development; regular payment of workers’ salaries and retirees’ pensions even without the receipt of federal allocation; nurturing peace and harmony among the political class and critical support for security agencies, among others.

Prior to this well-deserved feat, the National President of Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), Comrade (Dr.) Bobboi Bala Kaigama, while in Enugu for the ground breaking of 100 Housing Units for Nigerian workers, commended Gov. Ugwuanyi for his sterling performance in office and outstanding commitment to the welfare of the state’s civil servants.

Comrade Kaigama added that his leadership was proud of Gov. Ugwuanyi for paying workers’ salaries regularly and ensuring that they “have decent working environment”, saying, “If there is any governor that Nigerian workers can come up and work for his success particularly for his second term, we are proud to say that our members will work for you”.

The housing project under reference is being developed by the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) in collaboration with Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), Nigeria Employer’s Consultative Association (NECA) and the Enugu State Government. The Gov. Ugwuanyi administration in fulfillment of one of its contributions to the speedy actualization of the project, which is so dear to the workers, recently awarded contract for the construction of access roads to the site.

Also within the weeks under review, the Rangers International Football Club of Enugu staged one of the greatest soccer comebacks to win the 2018 NFF/ AITEO cup after 35 years of the club’s last victory in the competition. It would be recalled that Enugu Rangers FC, under Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration, exhibited similar historic feat when it won the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) cup – breaking the jinx of being unable to win a trophy after 32 years.

Also, the World Bank Group rated Enugu State as the second most advanced state in Nigeria towards the frontier of global good practices with regards to Ease of Doing Business.

The objective rating, which was contained in the recently released World Bank Doing Business in Nigeria 2018 report, by implication, proves that Enugu State, under the visionary leadership of Gov. Ugwuanyi has institutionalized far-reaching socio-economic reforms and provided critical infrastructure and security that have engendered a robust climate of Ease of Doing Business, creating an increased inflow of local and foreign direct investments in the state. It has also gone a long way to showcase the ingenuity of the present administration in advancing the cause of business engagements in the state through innovations, accountability, fiscal discipline and efficient public expenditure management for the overall wellbeing of the masses.

Prior to the recent World Bank rating, Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration had received an avalanche of similar verdicts and commendations from well-respected bodies. These include the Senate on the judicious utilization of the bailout funds; the BudgIT report, which listed Enugu, Lagos and Rivers as the only three states out of the 36 states of the federation that have fulfilled obligations to their workers; the recent Economic Confidential magazine verdict that listed Enugu among the seven states that are solvent with impressive over-30 per cent Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to fund additional economic activities.

Others include, the fifth most competitive state in Nigeria, according to the National Competitiveness Council of Nigeria; the third most debt sustainable State in Nigeria; the first state in Nigeria to publish its Audited State/Final Account for three consecutive years; first in the South East geo-political zone and ninth in the country based on IGR as against Federal Allocation; one of the twelve states in Nigeria that can survive without federal allocations, among others.

The climax of the weeks’ event in favour of Gov. Ugwuanyi was the Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s validation of the gale of endorsements for the governor’s re-election by various groups across the state and beyond. The Enugu State chapter of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, which made the stance during its rich and colouful Iri-Ji (New Yam) Festival held at the popular Michael Okpara Square, Enugu, stated that the validation was “an ultimate Seal of Authority in Igbo Land”.

The highly revered body added that it was also “the most bankable promissory note that beckons on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for a Certificate of Return to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyichukwu Lawrence Ugwuanyi as the governor-elect in Enugu State come 2019”.

Speaking on behalf of the excited members of the organization’s state chapter, its President, Chief Chiedozie Alex Ogbonnia, further explained that they were amazed at the list of numerous groups in the state that have endorsed the governor for a second term in office, which included – “The traditional rulers council and the members of their cabinets; Association of former elected Local Government Chairmen; Enugu State Amalgamated Traders Association; Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN); National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS).

Others, according to Ohanaeze Ndigbo, include, “NULGE/ LG Pensioners; NURTW; National Assembly members; Enugu State Resident Doctors Association; Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT); Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC); Association of Former Members of Enugu State House of Assembly; Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), etc”.

It is also remarkable to note that the ex-councilors in the state, between 1999-2015, have thrown their weight behind the governor’s second term bid in 2019 and more groups have continued to endorse him, accordingly, based on his outstanding performance and uncommon leadership style.

Speaking further, the chapter’s President applauded Gov.  Ugwuanyi’s “steady trajectory of massive infrastructural developments” stressing that it has “turned Enugu State into a huge and seamless construction site with all the tiers of government, namely the federal, state and the local at work in project implementation synergy”.

According to him, “the above observations by the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Enugu State Chapter, are reinforced by the clamour for endorsements of Governor Ugwuanyi for his re-election as the governor of Enugu State in the 2019 general election,” revealing that “well over 100 groups have endorsed Governor Ugwuanyi to run for a second term” and “the list of such groups above is a tip of the iceberg”.

In his remark, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, who witnessed the historic cultural festival with Gov. Ugwuanyi and other dignitaries, noted that the validation by the Enugu State chapter of the organization was an outward demonstration of solidarity for the governor, saying that “you (Ugwuanyi) are such a humble man that I don’t know how low you can get again in order to show more humility”.

His words: “Well I cannot say anything rather than that I have noted with great satisfaction what the people of Enugu State have said today. And when I summon the next meeting of Ime-Obi Ohanaeze, which is the highest decision making organ in Igboland, we will take into consideration what was said today because Ohanaeze must look at all our governors and their respective states and say our opinions as to who has been doing well.  On this note, I say congratulations to you, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as we invite you to come and appreciate what we are doing today”.

During the recent workers’ 100 housing units’ ground breaking ceremony, the TUC National President recalled that Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration had provided similar 100 units of one-bedroom apartments for the state’s civil servants between grade levels 01-10, who became proud landlords, after the state government paid 54 percent Equity Contribution.

Appreciating him further, Comrade Kaigama declared that “Gov. Ugwuanyi is second to none in the provision of workers’ welfare in the South East geo-political zone”, and “a performer and humble leader” who listens when it comes to challenges confronting the workers and the entire people of the state. He stated that the governor has set the pace for other states to emulate, stressing that “Enugu State is working under your leadership and that is not only because you are a performer, but you exhibit the sense of performance with humility”.

According to him, “we would say it anywhere because you have done it and you are still doing it. We assure that the working class not only in Enugu State but also in the entire nation is supporting you on your efforts to deliver the dividends of democracy”.

From the foregoing, it is being reaffirmed that Gov. Ugwuanyi has continued to make a positive mark in the governance of Enugu State, through his selfless service, vision, strength of leadership, sheer dexterity, and passion for the wellbeing of the people of the state – the true heroes of democracy. It is therefore, expected of the people to continue to reciprocate this gesture through their solidarity, goodwill and support.

  • Ugwuanyi, Ekweremadu for Adoration Ministry anniversary

Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu and some other distinguished Nigerians are billed to attend the 18th anniversary of Okunerere Adoration Ministry at Adoration Ground, Nsukka, Enugu State.

The theme of the anniversary is ‘From maturity to adulthood’, and it will hold on Sunday. Activities to mark the event include a high mass on Adoration Ground.

A statement by the Spiritual Director of the group, Rev. Father Dr. Paul Obayi, said: “Our celebration is solely dedicated to God. Attaining 18 years means you have become an adult; it is an age of discernment, when a human being is expected to take responsibility for his or her actions. I give God all the glory for taking us this far, for making us attain the age of adulthood. Some people did not grow to be adults.”

Recalling how the group started in October 2000, Fr. Obayi said it could only be the grace of God that has sustained the body and because of this, the celebrations would be hinged on a High Mass in thankfulness to God who made everything possible.

The High Mass will be celebrated by the host Bishop, the Catholic Bishop of Nsukka, Rev. Prof. Godfrey Onah.
