Omawumi finally reveals identity of her baby’s father

When the media first got wind of Omawumi’s out-of-wedlock pregnancy, everyone wanted to know the father. Unfortunately, Omawumi decided to keep the details to herself and there were many reports suggesting the father to be a popular south south governor but Omawumi debunked those claims.

She welcomed her child, Emmanuella Kamillah Yusuf on Saturday, June 18, 2011 in the U.S and new reports surfaced  claiming that Tosin Yusuf, one time co-owner of Zamunda night club was in fact Kamillah’s father. All through this period, Omawumi kept mum. However, Waje, who is Omawumi’s close friend and godmother to her daughter tweeted on the 7th of May, saying:  ‘you don’t even care what your silky stories would be doing to her. Tosin Yussuf is fine and well, leave the poor girl alone. Tufiakwa!!!’

His name was on record, thanks to Waje, but there was no picture of him whatsoever. In late 2013, Omawumi herself released a blurry picture on instagram of her nuclear family that included herself, her daughter and Tosin Yussuf, with the caption ‘Thank you so much for your patience. Clearer photos and good news sooner than you know. God is always good’

The rumours may now go to rest, Tosin Ibrahim Yusuf is indeed the father of Omawumi’s baby and sources say Omawumi is planning on tying the knot soon. Could it be to Tosin Yusuf? We may have to wait to find out.

Tosin Ibrahim Yusuf holds a degree in Business Management and an MSc in International Business from De-Montfort University, Leicester.  He was part owner of the now defunct Zamunda night club in Lagos. He is the founding director of ‎Lloyd Gate Ltd, located in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos and he is now a big player in the real estate industry.
