    DJ Spinall, Davido, King Promise, Wande Coal, others light up Detty Rave 7 in Ghana

    Detty Rave 7 returned to Accra with high energy, big moments, and one of its most striking stage designs yet as Mr Eazi hosted the annual festival.

    DJs Kelvin DJ, Spinall, Gingerboy, Priyanka set the tone, while surprise performances from Davido, Medikal, J Hus, Shallipopi, King Promise, and Wande Coal took the night to another level on the ChopLife Soundsystem set.

    Beyond the performances, the griot mask stage design and light show stood out as a visual centrepiece. 

    Conceptualized by Dennis Osadebe studio and executed by Dotun Popoola, the stage merged tradition and modern spectacle, becoming a defining backdrop for the night’s biggest moments.

    Mr Eazi also used the platform to announce a $2 million investment plan to build new indoor and outdoor event venues in Accra, requesting support from the Ghana Tourism Authority.

    Detty Rave 7 once again proved that it is not just about music, but about experience, culture, and scale.

    The phrase “Dem Go Pay”, a popular Nigerian Pidgin expression meaning “they will pay”.

    This teaser marks a potentially defining moment for Wande Coal, whose artistry continues to evolve nearly two decades after debut.

    Following the success of his 2023 album “Legend or No Legend” and the 2025 featured single “Go Easy”, the veteran singer appears poised to make another powerful statement.

    Veteran singer and rapper Seyi Sodimu has praised Wande Coal as the most-talented Nigerian Afrobeats artist.

    In a recent interview with comedian Teju Babyface, Sodimu credited Wande Coal with playing a pivotal role in the global success of Afrobeats.

    He noted that Wande Coal’s style influenced a new generation of artists, including Wizkid and Davido.

    “Wande Coal was one of the pivotal moments where he switched it [Afrobeats] to the new generation where he influenced people like Wizkid, Davido, Sean Tizzle. It was Wande Coal’s style that took Afrobeats to the new sound. I think he is the most-talented Nigerian Afrobeats artist,” Sodimu said.

    Sodimu described Wande Coal as a genius, highlighting his exceptional abilities as a singer and songwriter.

    He added that even though Wande Coal may not be receiving the recognition he deserves in terms of awards or accolades, his music is widely loved and appreciated.

    Babyface asked, “Do you think Wande Coal is getting the flowers he deserves?”

    Sodimu replied, “What do you mean by flowers, are you talking about streams? Because people love Wande Coal when they hear his music. So it’s in context. Any artist you ask, if you meet any of them, even Burna Boy can attest to Wande Coal’s artistry.

    “I’m older than Wande Coal and I know he’s actually operating on 30% and he is still kicking *ss. So, imagine if he was operating on 78%. Wande is a genius. He can sing, he also writes. He is amazing.”

    He cautions upcoming artists against taking advances from record labels before their music is industry-ready, warning that it could lead to overwhelming debt.

    Instead, he advocated patience and diligent work, urging artists to hone their craft until they’re truly prepared.

    In an interview with Cool FM Lagos, Wande Coal confidently stated: “I’m the best at what I do. I’m a legend. I know what I came to this industry to do. I brought the new generation sounds and the new wave of new artists that’s happening now.

    “I’m happy to be that guy that has done it. Also, I still want to do more. I feel like music never ends. Music is very universal. That’s why there are many genres of music.

    Emrose Adinoyi Productions in collaboration with African Independent Television (AIT) have concluded arrangements to host the maiden edition of the AIT Music Plus Festival at the Good Beach on April 11.

     Artists expected to thrill music lovers at the event include Wande Coal, Ruger, Magnito, Guchi, Eltee Skhillz and Qing Madi. Others are DJ Picasso, DJ Nana, Hypeman Best DJ Spin, DJ Kentro, DJ Flex, DJ Hypeman Sanni, Special Stanley, and Excel Xix Hypeman.

     According to a statement by the organisers, the festival will be aired live on major television channels.

     Speaking on the preparations, Emrose productions boss, Mursty Adinoyi, disclosed that  the organisers have also collaborated with Guinness Nigeria, the Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State Ministry of Health, and Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA), for the event.

     Adinoyi reiterated that the event is a platform set to discover talent while giving upcoming artists the opportunity to showcase their talents.

     Adinoyi added that the festival will also draw thousands of young people from varied backgrounds to the designated venue, thereby creating a bigger and wider range of influence.
