  • Peterside, ex-commissioner berate Wike for revocation of hotel’s C of O

Director-General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dakuku Petetside, and a former Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Dr. Austin Tam-George, have berated Governor Nyesom Wike, for Sunday’s revocation of the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) of Novotel Hotel, Port Harcourt.

Peterside, who described Wike’s action as the worse trait of fascism, however, said he had forewarned Rivers people and the international community.

The NIMASA chief, who was the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2015 election, yesterday in a statement by his media team, said: “In 2015, I warned Rivers people, the international and business community that Wike should not be trusted to protect their investments and stakes.”

Tam-George, who recently resigned before Wike sacked his commissioners, also noted that if a business premises was suspected or established to be a crime scene, the police, acting on a court order, could move in to take control.

The ex-Information commissioner said: “It is extraordinary for a state government to revoke the Certificate of Occupancy of a business, simply because opposition politicians lodged there.

“Politicians in the state may think this is part of politics, but it is a hostile signal to the business and investment community that Rivers State is a turbulent environment, and that a 99-year land lease could be withdrawn erratically any minute, by the governor.”

Wike announced the revocation of the C of O of Novotel hotel on Sunday, while speaking at the second session of the third synod of Anglican Diocese of Evo in Rivers State, claiming that the facility has become the centre of electoral fraud and malpractice.

The NIMASA chief said: “Wike had sworn to uphold the Constitution without fear or favour, ill-will or malice against any citizen. It is now left to Wike and his conscience to check whether he has been faithful to his oath.

“The revocation order is nothing but a reckless, irresponsible and draconian act that could have only come from the desk of a fascist, despot and a dictator.

“When I heard that Wike revoked the C of O of Novotel Hotel, I thought it was a joke, until I saw a statement to that effect. In his trademark style of governance, he denied the management of Novotel Hotel any opportunity to respond to any accusation. Wike alone was the accuser, prosecutor, witness and jury in this matter.

“It is sad that at a time when Rivers State needs every investment it can muster to create jobs for youths, arrest insecurity and stabilise social relationships, Wike is busy closing established multinationals, global chains and respected franchise to which Novotel Hotel belongs. In his maladministration, Wike blames everybody, but himself, for the woes that have befallen Rivers State since he shot into the Office of the Governor.

“It is part of a government’s fundamental and social duty to create a conducive economic baseline for companies and firms to operate and expand their businesses, while new ones are attracted. Serious governments offer free land, tax rebate and other incentives to woo investors. But for Wike, his is to create joblessness and stifle companies struggling to break even.

“In this singular action, Wike must have pushed not less than 500 people into the labour market. The social and economic reactions would be dire on families, state and country. He has also raised an adverse business advisory to would-be investors, that Rivers State is not safe for investment.”

“By the singular act, he (Wike) advertised his contempt for hard work and industry. He twitched his nose against commerce. As a man who has no calculation of state interest in mind, he has added with his own hands to the pool of the unemployed in the state. It is frightful omen of unemployment in the context of the rise of criminality, violence, gangsterism and cultism under his watch as the chief steward of River State.”

Peterside, a former member of the House of Representatives, also expressed concern that the Rivers governor had formed the habit of going to churches to make pronouncements that had been at best ridiculous and attempts to hoodwink Christians into believing some of his baseless allegations.

He said: “I feel for him (Wike), because he will be disgraced out of power. Already, he is a shame in conduct, diction and association. Nobody can use the name of Christ in vain. God cannot be fooled and He cannot be mocked. The Church of Christ knows all political leaders and their antecedents.

“Recently, he (Wike) said Rivers State is a Christian state, real enough. The Bible says, among my people are wicked men. All may be called to the Church of Christ in Rivers, but Wike is among those not chosen. ”

Wike boasts of influence on Supreme Court, says Amaechi

Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi has accused his successor Nyesom Wike of boasting that he has influence on the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen, and the judiciary.

He stated that Wike continued to forge more documents against him

Amaechi yesterday in an online statement by his media office said Wike wanted to use the forged documents to persecute and prosecute him in court.

Wike is Amaechi’s former Chief of Staff and the director-general of his re-election campaign organisation in 2011.

The minister said: “In the past couple of days, Wike has been telling anyone who cares to listen, bragging that he will certainly get a conviction, a judgment against Amaechi in the law courts on spurious charges of corruption, using his forged documents because he (Wike) is in control of the judiciary at the state and national levels.

“For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to state that Wike has been boasting that he has the judges in the Rivers State judiciary in his pocket, that he is in full control and that the Rivers State judiciary would always give him any judgment he wants against Amaechi.

“Furthermore, Wike is bragging that the CJN is his ‘main man’ that would readily and easily assist him get any judgment he wants against Amaechi at the apex court, using his contorted documents.

“Wike is also telling anyone who cares to listen that the Supreme Court (Justices) and judges generally are not happy with Amaechi and so they would easily convict him with any forged document he presents in court. Power-drunk Wike is using the recent visit of the CJN to Rivers State as his bragging right to prove his ‘extreme’ closeness to the CJN.

“Nigerians would recall that only a few days back, Livingstone Wechie, the young man Wike used to accuse Amaechi of corruption and write false and frivolous petitions to the National Assembly, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) etc., confessed in a live television programme and in a statement he also circulated to the media, that all the documents he used to wrongfully portray Amaechi as corrupt when he governed Rivers State, were phonies, forged documents given to him by Wike’s Rivers State Government House.

“Wechie also admitted, like we have always said, that the forged documents were used as the template and basis for the Justice Omereji-led Judicial Commission of Inquiry, a panel Wike set up early in his administration to witch-hunt, malign, vilify and persecute Amaechi.”

The transportation minister also stated that sadly, Wike was presiding over the affairs of Rivers people.

He accused Wike’s administration of embarking on wholesale forgery and distortion of government documents and would then retail it out to his minions, the media and the judiciary in a bid to defame and destroy Amaechi.

‘His blackmail of judiciary will fail’

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike yesterday described the statement credited to Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi as a figment of his imagination.

Wike said the statement issued by Amaechi  was part of a campaign of calumny launched by the former governor, following  the foundation stone  laid by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Walter Onoghen for the construction of the Judges Quarters.

“The former governor sponsored advertorials and electronic adverts through proxies to stop the laudable project without success, hence the resort to falsehood and character assassination,” the Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor (Electronic Media) Simeon Nwakaudu said yesterday in a reaction.

The statement reads: “We are not surprised by Amaechi’s antics to blackmail the judiciary.  Ever since the Supreme Court Victory  that validated the election of Governor Wike, Amaechi has never failed to malign the judiciary.

“Governor Wike is a law-abiding citizen, who believes in the  rule of law. That is why he has followed due process in tackling  the issues of high level corruption against  the Minister of Transportation.

“The Rivers State Governor in line with the extant  laws of Rivers State set up a Judicial Commission of Inquiry that investigated the Sale of Valued Assets of the state by the Amaechi administration.  The constitution of that panel was challenged  by the former governor at the State High Court and Court of Appeal.  Both courts upheld  the establishment  of that panel.  The former governor has since approached the Supreme Court  on appeal. Rather than await the verdict of the apex court, in his  usual manner, has resorted to political blackmail and falsehood. As usual, this will fail.

“It is imperative  to declare that the Judicial Commission of Inquiry  that investigated the Sale of Valued Assets of the State sat in the public. All the documents about the fraud of that  administration  were circulated  in the public domain with journalists  writing about the activities of the commission, publishing  tendered documents.  Nothing  was hidden from the people of the state.

“The Commission of Inquiry into the sale of Valued State Assets and other related matters headed by  Justice George Omereji received 442 exhibits,  27 memoranda while 25 witnesses testified before it.

“The commission indicted  the former governor and confirmed  that N53 billion was diverted by Amaechi and his officials…

“We have very credible documents to prove the mass corrupt acts of the Minister of Transportation against the good people of Rivers State.”

The statement added: “Amaechi  is being haunted by his ugly past. He locked up the courts for two years, forgetting  that he was a beneficiary  of the courage of the judiciary.

“Amaechi  should respect the judiciary as a courageous  arm of government  that works in line with the tenets of the  law.

“Without  equivocation, Governor Wike  stands by  his declaration  on the Rivers funds found at the notorious Ikoyi residence.  Nothing has changed.

“Governor Wike  will not be distracted by this reckless and unfortunate blackmail of the judiciary  by Amaechi.  At the appropriate time, the immediate past Rivers State governor will be brought to justice. He is assured of fair trial.”

  • Wike to renovate schools in Amaechi’s town, says Rivers PDP

Wike to renovate schools in Amaechi’s town, says Rivers PDP

The Rivers State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday promised that the administration of Governor Nyesom Wike would empower the  party’s supporters in Ubima community and renovate dilapidated schools.

Ubima is a community in Ikwerre Local Government Area. It is the home town of Sir Celestine Omehia and Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi.

Speaking after accepting some All Progressives Congress (APC) members into PDP, State Publicity Secretary  Samuel Nwanosike said Wike has plans for the community.

Nwanosike, who was with top PDP members, said “there are so many evidence of what the government has done in empowerment”.

He added that more people will benefit from the government, noting that Ubima will not left out.

“By this time next year, the school you are talking about will be completed by the grace of God, some of you have benefited one way or the other, but many of you will benefit from this government. Our umbrella is wide enough to accommodate everybody.

“The people of this community can now sleep with their eyes closed because Governor Nyesom Wike has invested heavily on security. The governor will not forget you, I am happy that this kind of crowd is welcoming us here, it is a sign this local government belongs to PDP.”

Responding on behalf of the community, Chief Franklin Orlu, and Chief Jude Nwoka thanked the PDP officials for visiting the community.

They pleaded with the Wike-led administration to always consider them in employment,  appointment  and other empowerment programmes.

The community also requested for the completion of dilapidated schools in the area and the revamping of Port Harcourt international Airport Hotel in the area, which they believe will employ more of their youths if it is functional.

  • Youths rally support for Wike for project delivery

Niger Delta youths have urged the people of the region, especially those from Rivers State, to support Governor Nyesom Wike.

The youth, who spoke yesterday under the aegis of Niger Delta Ex-agitators’ Forum, in a statement credited to their National President, Amaibi Hornby, in Port Harcourt, said Wike’s concentration on infrastructure was ideal and capable of fast tracking development in the state.

The call followed a one-day official visit by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo to inaugurate road projects completed by the Wike administration.

Hornby noted that the state has had good leaders who laid the foundation for development, adding that Wike’s focus on link roads will promote development of  new towns and cities.

“We advise indigenes and residents of Niger Delta to support Governor Wike (aka Mr. Project), in developing  the state. He is making impact in road construction, which has attracted political leaders and policy makers to the state.

“The leadership and members of ex-agitators are grateful to him for his effort. We implore other governors in the region to emulate Wike.”

The youth enjoined Osinbajo to fulfil the promises he made by implementing the agreement reached after the tour of the region.

Help me, Civil War victim begs Wike

A 55- year- old man, Godspower Orlu, who lost one of his arms in the civil war, has called on the Rivers State Governor Nyesom  Wike, to help him.

Orlu, who was in The Nation office in Port Harcourt, said he wrote a series of letters to the governor.

He said he was not a beggar but a victim of the civil war, adding that all he need is for the government  to understand his condition was a sacrifice.

Orlu noted that as a child who lost his right arm through a bomb during the war, he went through pains and agony struggling to survive.

He said as one whose community depends on fishing for survival, it was always difficult for him to cope with others because he cannot use one hand to paddle the boat.

Orlu said: “I am not a beggar. I am only pleading with Governor Wike to assist me in whatever way he can; I have faced stigmatisation and discrimination  because of my condition, those I have approached to assist me get a job ended up insulting me.

“For health reason, I have stopped the rigid work of being a newspaper vendor and nothing is available for me as means of survival. I want the governor to empower me so that I can start a business. If they can empower militants and cultist, why not consider me.

“I am pleading   with   humility to Governor Wike and the Federal Government, my condition was frustrated due to bomb thrown during the civil war. Thank God, I have survived till today. I should be considered by my state and country.”

  • APC, PDP disagree over activist’s revelations on Wike, Amaechi

APC, PDP disagree over activist’s revelations on Wike, Amaechi

The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday said it had been vindicated by the revelations of an activist, Livingstone Wechie, that he caused to be published forged documents against Minister of Transportation rotimi Amaechi.

The party, through its Publicity Secretary, Chris Finebone,  said it was always the party’s position that every lie had an expiry date. It noted that all the lies and falsehood perpetrated against Amaechi and the APC by Wike and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) eventually expired with ignominy.

But the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faulted Wechie’s claim that the Rivers State government gave him the forged documents.

The main opposition APC in Rivers said: “No better vessel would have conveyed the Wike and PDP confessional statement of shame than Livingstone Wechie himself. Having been one of the arrowheads of Wike and PDP on their self-appointed mission to destroy the impeccable image and records of Rt. Hon. Amaechi, but to God be all the glory and adoration that the chicken came home to roost much earlier than later.

“What unveiled on Monday could only be an act of God. It should serve as a great lesson to those who preoccupy themselves with plotting evil against someone like Rt. Hon. Amaechi who conducts his private and public life devoid of corruption and opulence. Of course, such plots will always come to an inglorious ruin.”

The Inter-ethnic Network for Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi (INCRA), noted that the confessions of Wechie and his integrity group were not new, but surprised that it took the group two years to discern the  mischief and viciousness of Wike.

INCRA, through a member of its Interim Management Team, Samuel Amadi, maintained that members of the group had always known the transportation minister to be an honest man with proven integrity.

The pro-Amaechi group said: “We strongly  commend Wechie and his group for finally realising themselves and mustering the boldness to speak out, in the face of obvious threat to their lives.

“We call on other people who were used by Wike in the past to discredit former Governor Amaechi and other illustrious sons and daughters of Rivers State and who may have become prisoners of their own consciences, to step forward in the footsteps of Wechie.

“We call on the security agencies to investigate the allegations of forgery and abuse of office levelled against Justice Omereji and officials of the Rivers state government.

“We call on the security agencies, especially the Nigeria Police, to ensure the safety of Wechie and his family. Nothing must happen to them.”

INCRA thanked Rivers people and other Nigerians for having faith in the unblemished integrity of Amaechi, while calling on them to continue to disregard the tissue of lies sponsored by the government.

The Rivers Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Samuel Nwanosike, however, urged Nigerians not to take Wechie serious, describing him as a man without integrity, honour and character.

Nwanosike reiterated that the executive director of integrity group swore to an oath on October 12, 2015, before a Senate Committee, led by Senator Samuel Anyanwu, that he was not being sponsored by anybody, claiming that everything he said was based on his investigation, while urging the Senate to summon him for lying on oath.

A stalwart of the APC in Rivers State, Charles Jaja, raised the alarm that the life of the Executive Director of Integrity Group is in danger over his Monday’s bombshell.

He called on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, to beef up security around Wechie, to prevent his being eliminated for revealing the truth about how Wike and his allies lied against the Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, in their desperation to paint the former Rivers governor black.

Jaja, in a telephone interview yesterday, declared that he was aware that the life of the executive director of integrity group was under very serious threat.

The APC stalwart said: “They are after the life of Livingstone Wechie. Police must ensure his adequate protection. The IGP must not take the security of the lawyer (Wechie) and members of his family for granted.

“Everybody has now known the truth about the Justice George Omereji’s Judicial Panel of Inquiry, set up by Wike to humiliate and embarrass his benefactor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, who made him Chief of Staff in 2007 and recommended him in 2011 to the then President Goodluck Jonathan for ministerial appointment.

“The National Judicial Council (NJC) must investigate the ignoble roles played by Justice Omereji of the Rivers State Judiciary, especially for allowing himself to be used by Wike in the Rivers governor’s desperation to destroy his former boss.”

Jaja also stated that the revelations by Wechie confirmed that the allegations levelled against the transportation minister were all fabricated.

Wechie’s MTN line was not answered yesterday.

Wechie, while speaking on a live programme in a national television on Monday, said: “We (members of Integrity Group) acted in 2015, believing that the documents used in fighting Rotimi Amaechi were true, being documents emanating from the Rivers State government. Time has played out, we have just realised that those documents were only politically fabricated just to fight and stop Rotimi Amaechi’s appointment.

“I was the architect of Justice Omereji’s panel report that indicted Rotimi Amaechi in 2015. I drew the script, the report etc.

“The only intention of Nyesom Wike’s government was to let the world know how bad this man, Rotimi Amaechi, was and leave it at that, without prosecution, because they have nothing really indicting him. They have continued to ride on those wings to exhibit fiscal irresponsibility in Government.

“No commissioner in Wike’s government can award a contract, not even for the supply of ordinary pencil. Everything, contracts, projects etc. is being done by Wike himself.

“In the eight years of Amaechi’s tenure, the budget was a public document, but in this Wike’s government, no one government official, not even commissioners, have access to the budget for these two years. Only a criminal hides budget. My joy is that I now have the opportunity to explain what actually played out in 2015 and still going on.”

  • PDP will be vigilant as it reconciles, says Wike

PDP will be vigilant as it reconciles, says Wike

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared the Peoples Democratic Party  (PDP)  will be vigilant as it reconciles members.

He spoke at an inter-denominational Thanksgiving Service to thank God for the Supreme Court’s resolution of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) crisis.

The governor added that the Supreme Court judgment saved Nigeria.

Wike said: “While we are reconciling, we must be vigilant. Nobody will take me unawares. Satan will never sleep. Satan will always find ways to cause havoc.  Sheriff  is an agent of the APC.  Woe  betide any person who is a mole of the deadly party.”

He expressed gratitude  to God for giving PDP leaders the wisdom to identify that with the emergence  of Sheriff  the Party was headed for doom and  had to retrace its steps.

The governor  said Nigerians received the judgment with joy because the future of Nigeria  rests with  the PDP.

He said the ruling  All Progressives Congress (APC)  after winning elections have resorted to excuses and blame game instead of fulfilling  the promises they made  to Nigerians.

“Two years after the mandate what is the situation? Excuses and blames without delivery. Look at how individuals  took it upon themselves to destroy the party that gave them life.

“PDP is the only party that is a household  name in Nigeria.  There is no unit in the country without  a member of the PDP “.

  • Dickson, Wike caution as PDP plans convention

Dickson, Wike caution as PDP plans convention

As the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) begins the process that will lead to its elective convention, two of its governors have given tips on the way forward.

The party last week regained its voice after the Supreme Court restored Ahmed Makarfi’s leadership.

Between today and tomorrow in Abuja, the party will hold its enlarged caucus meeting and the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting where decisions on the convention is expected to be taken.

Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson called for a true reconciliation. His Rivers State counterpart Nyesom Wike urged vigilance during reconciliation.

In a statement at the weekend, Dickson urged sacked chairman Ali Modu Sheriff to support Makarfi.

He said true reconciliation and a national unity convention would build confidence in the party and “endear Nigerians to PDP and persuade those who had defected from our great party to return to PDP ahead of 2019.’’

Dickson said the judiciary only adjudicates on matters but never reconciles contending parties.

“Now that the Supreme Court has delivered the much expected judgment, the PDP must now reconcile and truly put its house in order to effectively play its role as the leading opposition party in Nigeria”, he said.

The governor added: ‘‘I call on Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and his supporters and all contending parties in our great party, PDP to respect the verdict of the Supreme Court as the final arbiter.

“Without such support, genuine reconciliation cannot take place; without such support, the Caretaker Committee will have a herculean task organizing an acceptable convention, without genuine reconciliation, the party cannot move forward.’’

Wike, speaking at an inter-denominational thanksgiving service, said the Supreme Court judgment saved Nigeria.

“While we are reconciling, we must be vigilant. Nobody will take me unawares. Satan will never sleep. Satan will always find ways to cause havoc.  Sheriff  is an agent of the APC.  Woe betides any person who is a mole of the deadly party.”

There is no unit in the country without  a member of the PDP”.

The governor said Rivers State  must get  return on its contributions  to the PDP.

“As we help you, you help us. If you don’t help us, we won’t help  you. All of us must rise from our unit, ward and local government area to mobilise people”.

He added: “God saved PDP because of Rivers State.  We don’t have plan B. Every other state had plan B. Our enemies will be put to shame from time to time. Rivers State is the strongest PDP state.”

The thanksgiving service attracted PDP leaders from the 23 local government areas.

  • Nigerians no longer happy with NLC – Wike

Nigerians no longer happy with NLC – Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, said on Friday that Nigerians are no longer happy with the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) because of the infiltration of the congress by political forces.

The governor said the political infiltration has made the NLC ineffective and unable to positively respond on issues that affect less privileged Nigerians.

Wike, who spoke at the Government House in Port Harcourt, when he granted audience to the president of the NLC, Ayuba Wabba, said the Congress is no longer as strong as it used to be because of division within its ranks.

He said: “Nigerians are not happy with the NLC. With due respect, you people are now politicians.  You are no longer as strong as you used to be.

“I remember when Jonathan was President; you wanted to pull heaven down just for the slight removal of petroleum subsidy.  Now they have removed everything and nothing has happened.

He regretted that the NLC has fallen to the level where it calls for strike and records failure.

“You have allowed politicians to penetrate your ranks and you now have two factions. Factionalization is not the best. I urge you to work for the union to be strong as this is in the interest of the nation,” the governor said.

While pledging his support for the NLC, he urged the Congress to stand firm and work for the protection of Nigerians and the country’s democracy.

“Look at what is happening in the country today and nobody is talking.  Nobody wants to go to jail. If you talk, EFCC will come after you. If you don’t want EFCC to trouble you, defect to the other party. There was this ED Finance of the NDDC, who was a member of the PDP. EFCC was after him, when he defected to the other party, they dropped the charges,” he said.

He said the country should practice true federalism in all areas including the salary structures of the respective states.

The governor added: “If the new salary structure is agreed, if Rivers State can pay, can Ebonyi State pay? There should not be a uniformed condition of service.  In Nigeria, you are paid same amount of money in Lagos as in Kogi State. That is why we cannot get it right.”

  • APC chairmen: Wike must stop chasing shadows

APC chairmen: Wike must stop chasing shadows

The Forum of All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmen of the 23 local government areas of Rivers State has urged Governor Nyesom Wike to stop chasing shadows and focus on providing good governance.

The chairmen urged Wike and his allies to stop castigating the judiciary on the defeat of legislative candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the election petitions tribunal.

The 23 chairmen, who were at a news conference yesterday at the Rivers secretariat of the APC, signed an eight-point communique, which was read by the forum’s Chairman, Gift Igoma Loveday, who is also the chairman of the party in Abua/Odual.

They declared that they stood by the leader of APC in Rivers and the Southsouth zone, Rotimi Amaechi, who is  the Minister of Transportation, insisting that there is no disagreement between him (Amaechi) and the representative of Rivers Southeast Senatorial District, Magnus Abe, over the 2019 governorship race in Rivers.

The chairmen said: “We advise Wike to rather than chase shadows, focus on providing good governance for Rivers people and tackle insecurity, such as armed robbery, cult activities, kidnapping and beheading, among other crimes, bedevilling our dear state today, a trend that has driven investors away from a one-time haven of investments.

“We advise the Rivers State chapter of the PDP, Wike and their co-travellers to exercise restraints in their unbridled outburst against the judiciary and criticisms of decisions of the Rivers State House of Assembly and National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal, which upheld the elections of some APC and PDP legislators.

“While we have accepted the outcome of the tribunal judgments, pending appeals, they (Wike and PDP leaders) are busy castigating and disparaging the judiciary. We urge them to make use of the window offered by the Appeal Court to seek redress, if they feel shortchanged.”

Members of the forum also expressed displeasure over insinuations that Rivers APC was divided, insisting that the claims were baseless and untrue, stating that the party remained united and indivisible, under the able chairmanship of Chief Davies Ikanya.

It said: “There is no leadership tussle in the APC, Rivers State chapter, as the party has only one indisputable leader in Rivers State and in the entire Southsouth Nigeria, in the person of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. This is not in doubt.

“We pledge our unalloyed loyalty to our leader (Amaechi) and we have confidence that by the grace of God, he will lead us to the ‘Promised Land.’

“We stand with our leader (Amaechi) in his genuine efforts at rebuilding and repositioning the party (APC) in Rivers State. We hereby commend our leader for his landmark achievements in the transportation sector, attested to by the generality of Nigerians.”

The chairmen lauded the teeming members of the APC for their unwavering support for and belief in the leadership of the party to pilot its affairs and give the main opposition party’s candidates the well-deserved victories in 2019.
