The Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has granted defaulters of the land use/purpose clause of properties in Asokoro, Maitama, Garki and Wuse districts in the Federal Capital City (FCC), a final grace period of 14 days to comply with the terms and conditions of the approval for land use change and conversion.

According to a statement on Sunday, by the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Minister on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, the defaulters now have 14 days, from Tuesday, November 11, 2025, to pay a violation fee of N5 million and other applicable fees for land use change and conversion.

“Failure to comply within the stated 14 calendar days grace period will result in enforcement actions by the FCT Administration,” he said.

The statement reads; “Sequel to the Public Notices made by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) on Monday 8th September 2025, Tuesday 9th September 2025, and Wednesday 10th September 2025, in some national dailies and online platforms, in respect of the reviewed Land Use/Purpose Clause of properties in the FCT, the general public particularly allottees/title holders of properties on the underlisted streets/locations of the Federal Capital City (FCC) are hereby informed that the 30 days period given for the payment of penalty/violation fee of ₦5 million and other applicable fees for Land Use Change/Conversion had since one month ago expired.

Wike mocks embattled PDP chair Damagum

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Monday took a swipe at the embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Amb. Umar Damagum.

Wike described him as a “tax collector” who lacked the discipline and integrity to lead the opposition party.

Speaking on a Television programme ‘Politics Today’, monitored by our correspondent in Abuja, Wike alleged that Damagum was never in control of his legal affairs when the party faced internal court battles, claiming that he personally intervened to stabilise the PDP leadership during that period.

He said: “Damagum does not even know who his lawyer was when we went to court. That was how we were able to stabilize and keep Damagun”.

The FCT minister also accused Damagum of being driven solely by financial interests, describing him as someone who prioritizes money over loyalty or principle.

He said: “But you see, as a tax collector, he will always be. Damagum is a tax collector. He doesn’t need to work with FIRS, he is a company tax collector.

“There are people who are like that naturally in their life, that is how they are. They think money is everything in life. They think they can never be steadfast”.

Challenging Damagum to take legal action if he felt defamed by the claim, Wike declared: “Let Damagum challenge me. Let him go to court and sue me and say, ‘Look, this was what the minister said about me.’ He knows he cannot.”

Wike’s remarks came amid deepening internal strife within the PDP, with rival factions of the party led by Damagum and Samuel Anyanwu, respectively.

He also said former Vice President Atiku Abubakar had no option but to leave the PDP for another party, insisting that Atiku’s departure was inevitable given his history with the party.

Wike accused Atiku and his allies of repeatedly destabilizing the PDP, saying their recent defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) only confirmed their lack of commitment.

He said: “Atiku has no choice but to go. Someone who wants to use the PDP, knowing that I am there, cannot get that platform. These are people who destroyed the party. Remember how many times he left and came back to the PDP.”

The FCT Minister also took a swipe at those who had accused him of secretly working for the APC, describing their actions as hypocritical now that many of them have defected to the ruling party.

“The man you claimed is working for APC to kill PDP is still in the PDP, and you people have run away to join the party you said I am working for,” he said.

When asked if he felt pleased that most of his critics had exited the party, Wike replied curtly, “They have never been committed.”

Opposition behind claims of genocide against Christians in Nigeria – Wike

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, on Monday accused opposition parties for the claims that Christians were being killed in Nigeria.

All these, Wike said, is to take over power from President Bola Tinubu.

Wike spoke on Channels Television’s programme Politics Today where he described the move as ‘politics too far’, adding that their plans will fail.

The Minister however, refused to list one opposition leader or elaborate further on what he meant.

When asked if opposition was fuelling the narrative of a Christian genocide, Wike said: “It is very obvious and I have said this.

“The problem we have today is Mr President’s own nature of politics, you can see the collapse of the opposition.

“It will be difficult for anybody. The opposition today has seen that no party is prepared to challenge the President returning to power. What do we do? Should we allow him to just go in like that without challenges? We must do something and one of the things to do is bring up such things that will divide the country.”

Wike said the narrative of genocide under President Bola Tinubu’s administration is “politics taken too far.”

“It is an indictment that a government I am serving, anybody will allege that that government is supporting genocide, killing of Christians and I am still in that government.

“This is politics taken too far. The Inspector General of Police is a Christian, the Director General of State Security Service is a Christian, and the Chief of Defence (Staff) is a Christian. Tell me how any right-thinking person will think that we will sit in a government and support the killing of our own people?” he queried.

According to Wike, the killings of Nigerians in any part of the country do not bring joy to any Nigerian leader.

In an explosive post on his Truth Social platform on Saturday, US President Trump said that he asked the Pentagon to map out a possible plan of attack in Nigeria, one day after warning that Christianity was “facing an existential threat” in Africa’s most populous country.

In his post, Trump said that if Nigeria does not stem the killings, the United States will attack and “it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our CHERISHED Christians.”

Trump on Sunday also repeated threat of a military operation in Nigeria over killings of Christians, after the presidency suggested a meeting to resolve the issue.

Asked if he was considering US troops on the ground in Nigeria or air strikes, Trump replied: “Could be, I mean, a lot of things — I envisage a lot of things.”

“They’re killing the Christians and killing them in very large numbers. We’re not going to allow that to happen,” he added.

When asked if he was worried about Trump’s possible invasion of Nigeria, Wike did not categorically reply to the question.

Weighing in on whether Trump was playing the politics, the Minister said: “There could be some misinformation or distortion. It’s unfortunate.”

Wike vows to resist impunity, hails court ruling on PDP national convention

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has vowed to resist impunity which he claimed is going on in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Wike, who hailed the court ruling on PDP national convention, declared that no one within his opposition party would be allowed to use him or his loyalists as bargaining tools in the ongoing internal crisis.

Wike stated this in Abuja while addressing Concerned PDP Stakeholders shortly before a closed-door meeting at his Lifecamp official residence, following the court judgment that halted the party’s planned national convention.

Some of those in attendance at the meeting were: PDP National Secretary Senator Sam Anyanwu; former Benue Governor Samuel Ortom; former Abia Governor  Okezie Ikpeazu; Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda, Hon Micah Jiba, Rivers Speaker, some BoT members, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa and others.

Some other Senators and Reps members mostly from the South East and South South and North Central were also in attendance.

He said those seeking to hijack PDP’s leadership structure through impunity and disregard for due process would be resisted, adding that “nobody will use us to negotiate for anything.

“Let me be clear: nobody, and I mean nobody, will use us to negotiate for anything. We are part of this party; we have sacrificed for it. But we will not allow anybody to trade us off for personal gain,” the Minister said.

Wike, who described the moment as one of “mixed feelings,” commended members who had stood by the party through turbulent times, insisting that their struggle was not about personal interest but about restoring justice and discipline to the opposition.

“On one hand, I am happy because justice has prevailed. On the other hand, I am sad because it hurts to see our great party being destroyed from within.

“Those of us fighting today are not doing so for ourselves. We are doing it because we want the PDP to stand for something, for due process, fairness, and respect for law,” he stated.

The Minister criticised what he described as arrogant and insensitive among some of the party’s leaders, accusing them of disregarding the roles played by others in sustaining the PDP over the years.

“Leadership is not arrogance. When people begin to act as though nobody matters, they destroy the same house they built. We stood firm during tougher times, even when the ruling party tried to divide us, and we will stand firm again,” he said.

Wike berated Governors and party officials who, according to him, have failed to unite the PDP at a time when Nigeria needs a strong and credible opposition.

“There can be no credible opposition that operates with impunity. If you say you want to take power from the ruling party, then you must first show Nigerians that you can obey your own rules,” he added.

He also took a swipe at those who believe political power could be bought with money.

“Some think money will solve everything. No, it won’t. There are still people who cannot be bought, no matter how much you offer. We will continue to fight for what is right,” he maintained.

Wike thanked PDP members who stood as plaintiffs in the recent legal action challenging the planned national convention, commending their courage despite threats and intimidation.

“Many people give up once they are threatened. But these men and women stood their ground. They said, ‘No, we will not allow injustice.’ I salute their courage,” he said.

He further accused certain party leaders of violating the PDP constitution by illegally zoning positions and manipulating congresses across the country.

“A few people sit in their homes and decide where positions will go. They even pocket the funds meant for the process. It has never been this bad in the PDP,” he lamented.

While reaffirming commitment to the unity of the party, Wike urged the Governors to use the resources available to them to develop their states and strengthen the PDP, rather than “use the money to kill the party.”

“The funds available to states today are more than ever before. That money should be used to build infrastructure and reduce unemployment — not to weaken our party. We will not agree to that,” he declared.

Wike assured that his group remained open to genuine dialogue but warned that they would not be blackmailed into submission.

“We are open to peace, but we will not be blackmailed. We will continue to stand for truth and fairness until justice prevails in the PDP,” he concluded.

The closed-door meeting, which followed Wike’s remarks, is attended by several PDP stakeholders from across the six geopolitical zones. A communiqué is expected at the end of the deliberations.

    The closed-door meeting is ongoing.

  • Wike builds new police stations to curb kidnapping, killings

Wike builds new police stations to curb kidnapping, killings

To curb the menace of kidnappings and killings among other vices in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike is building police stations in rural areas and border communities.

The development is in fulfillment of Wike’s pledge to decentralise policing and bring safety closer to the grassroots.

This initiative follows months of sustained insecurity that plagued several parts of the FCT between late 2023 and early 2024, when communities in Abaji, Kwali, and Bwari suffered repeated abductions, bandit incursions, and activities of kidnappers.

The situation which led to the kidnapping, maiming and killings of scores of victims, especially those along border communities, prompted the FCT Minister to order the immediate provision of two additional divisional police stations across the six area councils.

A visit to some of the new divisional police stations on Thursday at Tukashare and Saburi both in AMAC, Bako in Kwali, Yaba in Abaji, Giri in Gwagwalada, Ushafa in Bwari Area councils, show significant progress in the ongoing construction.

At Saburi, in Abuja Municipal Area Council, the project is nearing completion with visible finishing works going on at the station block and adjoining residential quarters.

Our correspondent observed that the complex consists of a main administrative building with offices for the Divisional Police Officer, his secretary, and other ranks, as well as two holding cells equipped with in-built toilets and bathrooms.

Meanwhile the residential block, designed for officers’ accommodation, comprises six two-bedroom flats, each with a kitchen, dining room, and three toilets, said to be a deliberate effort to ensure officers remain close to their duty posts and can respond swiftly to emergencies.

Project engineer, Ahmed Yahaya, told reporters that the project is in its final phase.

Yahaya said: “We have completed the electrical and plumbing works, and we’re currently on the finishing fittings. By tomorrow, we’ll commence industrial cleaning and in two days’ time, we should begin painting.”

Also at the Yaba Divisional Police Station, located in a border community that shares boundaries with Niger State, site engineer Engr. Ayinde Adewale, assured that the project will be completed within schedule.

He said: “With the level of funding support we’re getting from the FCT Administration, we have no doubt about meeting the November deadline”.

He noted that the strategic location of Yaba, a major transit point for travellers heading toward Niger and Kogi States, makes the establishment of a divisional police command there a crucial deterrent against criminal infiltration.

The Director of Security Services at the FCTA, Adamu Gwary, who was seen at one of the project sites, told journalists that the projects were part of a comprehensive grassroots security plan initiated by the minister to extend policing to underserved areas.

According to him; “When the Honourable Minister assumed office, he directed that all abandoned or underused town halls in the area councils should be converted into functional police stations.

“The idea is to take policing closer to the people, especially in vulnerable and remote communities where response time is slow.”

The concept, he said “is to end the era where officers live far away from their posts. Now, there will always be personnel on ground to respond to emergencies at any hour.”

He said the prototype of the building was gotten from the Inspector – General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

Some residents in the benefiting communities expressed optimism that the new facilities will improve safety and restore confidence.

In Yaba, a farmer, Musa Yakubu, said the presence of a police division would encourage more economic activity. “People will now come in freely to buy and sell farm produce because they know security is improving,” he said.

A petty trader, Ibrahim Danladi, also added that the fear that kept many from staying out late is gradually easing. “Now we can begin to feel safer again,” he said.

Gwary said beyond their symbolic presence, each of the new divisional police stations follows a national prototype recently approved by the Inspector General of Police.

He said the design was introduced at the request of the FCT Minister, who sought to ensure that new stations meet uniform standards of functionality and comfort for operational officers.

He added that the new structures will serve as models for future police divisions in the territory and across the country.

The director security said; “If you go to the Police Resource Centre, you will find the same standard being replicated. What we have done is align the FCT projects with this national standard so that both the physical environment and manpower deployment can support efficient policing.”

Wike approves N1.74b contract for 12 new ambulances

The Mandate Secretary of Health, Human and Environment Services, Adedolapo Fasawe, on Friday disclosed that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Executive Council has ratified a contract for the purchase of 12 new emergency ambulances at the cost of N1.74 billion to aid emergency responses.

Fasawe said this after a meeting of the FCT Executive Council at the FCT Minister’s official residence.

The contract ratification comes months after the Secretary, in July, announced the planned purchase of the ambulances, as well as the digitisation of emergency response units across FCT hospitals.

Speaking during a Community First Responders Training organised by the Health Emergency Initiative and the FCT Primary Health Care Board, Fasawe said, “I’m happy to announce that we will soon commission about 12 ambulances here.

“Mr. Wike purchased new ambulances for us. And we don’t only want ambulances, we want ambulance services, where we will have a station, we will have pilots, and all our nurses are first responders.

“Very soon, all our hospitals will accessible online. You will be able to know when there is a bed, when there is no bed, and which hospital is closest to you. Technology is very important,” she said.

Speaking during the briefing on Friday, the Health Secretary stated that the buses were 12 units of Toyota Hiace, 2023/2024 models, purchased for a total sum of N1.74 billion, adding that the ambulances had been received and will be commissioned very soon.

Fasawe further explained that the Secretariat had partnered with the National Communications Commission to ensure that residents could dial the 112 toll-free line in cases of emergency, from where they would then be patched to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the National Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance System, and the FCT Health Insurance Scheme.

She further said the FCT had zero tolerance for carrying dead bodies with the ambulances, adding that the administration was looking into buying hearses in the next budget.

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, yesterday warned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors that their strategy of excluding him from key party decisions will lead to the party’s collapse.

Wike, who gave the warning at a monthly live media parley monitored by our correspondent in Abuja, expressed his frustration at being sidelined from major consultations despite his long-standing influence in the party.

“Have I not said it before now that the booby trap you are setting will consume you? The way these present governors are doing, they will bury this party,” he said.

The FCT Minister directly challenged the logic of his exclusion, asking whether his current role as a minister or his past contributions rendered him irrelevant.

“I am the FCT Minister. Are you telling me that because I am not a governor, you will hold a PDP stakeholders’ meeting and exclude me, and then expect the party to survive?” he asked.

Wike dismissed the idea that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was to blame for the PDP’s internal crises, asserting that the problems were self-inflicted.

He said: “All these talks about APC are rubbish. Is it APC that makes you take wrong decisions? You mean two or three people, because they are governors and receive large allocations, will go and decide, and you tell me to follow? Follow who?”

On the upcoming PDP national convention, the minister accused the party leadership of failing to complete essential groundwork.

“If they do the right thing, will anybody stall the convention? They have not done the congresses and other things that should be in place,” he said.

His warning comes as the PDP grapples with internal defections and legal battles threatening its planned convention slated for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

He said: “Have I not said that so many governors will leave? Is this the first time you have heard me say so? It is very embarrassing. The governor was the Chairman of the Convention Committee. It is very embarrassing.

“Diri was the Chairman of the Zoning Committee, even though I knew from the beginning that they were all playing games. I knew from the beginning. I said it before. There is nothing I said that has not come to pass,” he said.

With what is going on politically, Wike said, PDP will continue to lose if there is no change.

“It is very embarrassing. I knew from the beginning that some PDP members were playing games. The house has (collapsed) since. PDP did not do the right thing. They should follow due process to the national convention.

“If you think you will sideline people to hold the convention, it will not be possible. If a proper convention is to be held, I will attend. But if the convention is not a proper one, I will not attend.

Wike said the leadership had failed to complete necessary congresses and other key processes, which he claimed were stalling progress.

“If they do the right thing, will anybody stall the convention? They have not done the congresses and other things that should be in place,” he said.

The PDP has, in recent months, faced internal crises and a wave of defections involving top members including Governors Peter Mbah, Sheriff Oborevwori and Umo Enoh of Enugu, Delta and Akwa Ibom states respectively.

The party is also battling multiple legal suits over its forthcoming convention.

He added: “Assuming I am not a minister, by the role I have played in the PDP till now, is it right to say I cannot be consulted in taking decisions of the party? Certainly not.”

Wike further criticized the notion that internal crises could be blamed on the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that PDP’s problems were self-inflicted.

“All these talks about APC are rubbish. Is it APC that makes you take wrong decisions? You mean two or three people, because they are governors and receive large allocations, will go and decide, and you tell me to follow? Follow who?”

On the stance of Wike on Jonathan running for the 2027 presidential elections, the minister disclosed that former President Goodluck Jonathan has not informed him about any plan to contest the 2027 presidential election.

The minister said: “You’re the one telling me here. Jonathan has never told me; he has never called me one day, ‘Look, I’m being pressured to run, what’s your thinking’? If he calls me and asks me, I will be able to tell him my mind and what I feel.”

He added: “I will not because you people put something on the pages of the newspapers, just like you said they flew me out of the country—then, I now assume it’s correct.”

On the emergence of former Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN), as the consensus candidate for the position of National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Wike distanced himself from the development, saying he knows nothing about it.

“I don’t know about Tanimu Turaki becoming chairman; maybe he becomes chairman for another faction—it’s not the PDP I know,” he stated.

The PDP northern stakeholders had recently endorsed Turaki as their consensus candidate ahead of the party’s national convention scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Speaking further, Wike dismissed the upcoming convention as illegal, hinting that he would not attend.

“How do you want me to attend a convention that I know by law that there is no convention?” he queried.

On the ongoing trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the minister said he was ready to appear as a witness of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader if subpoenaed by the court.

His comment followed a motion filed by Kanu at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday, notifying the court of his plan to open his defence on October 24, 2025.

The IPOB leader indicated his intention to call 23 witnesses, including Wike, former Minister of Defence Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (rtd), and former Chief of Army Staff Gen. Tukur Buratai (rtd).

Wike, however, clarified that he had not requested to be named as a witness and had not received any legal notification from the court. He said he would only appear if formally summoned.

“If you see Nnamdi Kanu, ask him why he listed me. I did not go to him to say I want to be a witness; you are the one saying that. So, if you see him, ask him why did you list Wike as one of your witnesses?

“You don’t become a witness by reading a newspaper. Nobody has served me process; nobody has subpoenaed me.

“So, because I saw Wike has been listed, therefore, I begin to run helter-skelter. No, you do not do that. If I am served, if I am subpoenaed to come and witness or to give evidence, I must obey the court, I must appear,” he said.

Wike also reacted to recent comments by a former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on the poor state of public schools in the FCT.

The Nation reports that Obi, during a recent visit to the LEA Primary School in FCT, had decried the deplorable condition of learning facilities, noting that he was shocked to find classrooms without chairs or toilets.

The former Anambra State governor described the situation as “unacceptable and unworthy of a responsible nation.”

Responding, Wike said his administration was aware of the infrastructural decay in some parts of the FCT but insisted that it was unrealistic to expect every problem to be solved immediately.

Wike said: “I heard him when he was saying that public schools are in dilapidated nature across the Federal Capital Territory. We cannot solve every problem as far as development is concerned. Government is a continuum. There were several administrations before we came, and other administrations will come after us.”

The minister maintained that the FCT Administration was making steady progress under the Renewed Hope agenda of President Tinubu, particularly in infrastructure, education, and health care, noting that development would be implemented in phases.

Wike added that while constructive criticism was welcomed, stakeholders should acknowledge ongoing efforts to improve living standards across the federal capital territory.

PDP will reclaim power in 2027 despite challenges – Lawal

Zamfara State governor, Dauda Lawal, said yesterday  that Leaders of the main opposition People’s Democraatic Party (PDP) must lay aside personal interests and prejudices to rebuild a party ready to reclaim from the ruling All Progressives Congress in 2027.

Governor Lawal, who spoke shortly after the inaugural meeting of the accreditation sub-committee for the elective national convention in Ibadan, said history favours the party to reclaim power in 2027 despite the challenges it is presently confronted with.

He said: “Let me take you back to history. In 2015, when PDP had over 29 to 30 governors, what happened at the end of the day? I’m sure you’ll be the judge. So as I said, no shaking, no alarm.

“Our great party is a family, and like any family, we may have disagreements. It is inevitable no matter what we do. It’s just a matter of time. But the overall interest of this collective family must supersede individual ambitions.

“We as leaders remain steadfast in our resolve to provide unbiased and selfless service to consensus and build a convention that is truly all-inclusive. A great thinker once said alone we can do so little, together we can do so much. This word resonates deeply today.

“We must stand together, we must work together, we must heal together. As you come on this way to your assignment, I pray for the divine intervention and wisdom, as well as guidance from each one of you.

“I wish to make a heartfelt appeal to all of us. Leadership comes with a lot of responsibility. But I believe all of us were carefully selected because we have what it takes to provide that leadership.

“Let us set aside our differences. Let us embrace the spirit of genuine reconciliation.”

Reacting to a statement by the National Organising Secretary about the choice of former Minister for Special Duties as the consensus candidate of the North as Chairman of the PDP, Governor Lawal said: “I don’t think that should be something we should be concerned about, because politics is about give and take.

“No matter who is selected, there will always be agitation from the other members. So it’s normal. It is something that is internal and we are working on making sure everybody is on board so that we can have a very, very successful convention.”

Speaking on the work of the accreditation committee, he said: “We are here to lay the foundation for an event that will define our future. The national convention in Ibadan come November 2025 under the able leadership of His Excellency Rt Hon Omar Madufintri, the executive governor of Adana state as well as the chairman of the national convention organising committee.

“We have begun a journey and today we are bringing on board one of the most vital engines, which is the accreditation committee. To the men and women selected to serve on this sub-committee, I extend a special welcome.

“You have been chosen not for a routine task but for one of the most critical assignments in our democratic process.

“The work you are about to undertake is the very foundation upon which a credible transparent and successful convention will be built.

“The mandate of this committee is a very heavy burden and your responsibilities are very clear.”

Party’s Northwest elders’ forum kicks over mass defection

The recent defection of thousands of opposition PDP members wooed by the Minister of State for Defence, Mohammed Bello Matawalle to APC has stirred a fresh round of lamentation by the Northern Elders Unity Forum of opposition party.

They have accused the Minister of coercing officials and ardent supporters of the PDP holding positions in Zamfara and Kaduna states respectively to join the ruling APC at the centre, urging President Bola Tinubu to call the minister to order.

The Forum described the actions of the minister as attempt to bring disrepute to the survival of the opposition party in the Northwest.

The PDP alleged that the minister lured innocent supporters of the party, using excessive resources to curry his way; a development they described as unhealthy for democracy.

The National Secretary of the Forum, Dr Abbas Sadauki (Dan Madamin Tofa), who condemned the actions and the process, said they were attempts to bring to disrepute the survival of opposition in the Northwest.

Sadauki spoke in Gusau, Zamfara State capital shortly after holding a meeting with party elders from Kaura Namoda, Zurmi, Tsafe and Bungudu local government areas of Zamfara State.

He described the Minister as a desperate politician who by all means wanted to destroy PDP in Zamfara and other states of the Northwest for the 2027 political ambition of his party, APC.

“It is evident that Matawalle has targeted some particular leaders of the party in the Northwest geopolitical zone,” he stressed.

However, Sadauki said the Minister’s antecedent of use of power and political appointments to coerce many of the PDP hard working and loyal members was clear.

“It has created a great vacuum within the party leadership, particularly in the Northwest,” he added, saying it is never a good omen for the country’s democratic process and progress.

“Taking this direction by Matawalle is crippling our party and democracy by misguiding them into believing that there is greener pasture defecting from PDP to ruling APC at the centre. This is injurious to the genuineness and progress of democracy in Nigeria,” the Forum Secretary said.
