  • Wike is a promise-keeper, says Tambuwal

Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has described the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike as a promise-keeper.

Tambuwal spoke yesterday while inaugurating the College of Medical Sciences building at the Rivers State University.

Wike berated Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi for failing to attract a single project to the state and resorting to falsehood on the execution of projects in the state.

Tambuwal said: “I am tempted to recommend Governor Wike so highly. He is the ‘Ekwueme of Rivers State ‘. It only takes a leader with a vision, passion and commitment to come up with this idea and implement it.”

He lauded Wike for projects that are tailored to the needs of Rivers. He said such projects will enhance the development of the state.

“The projects are tailored along the needs of the people Rivers State.  This is a trend in governance to deliver projects based on the needs of the people.”

He stated that posterity would vindicate Wike.  He urged leaders to focus on development and de-emphasise issues  that generate disunity .

Wike said it was unfortunate that  Amaechi would lie about projects delivered by the present administration to improve the living condition of the people.

“There are several projects which were initiated, constructed and commissioned by my administration.  Amaechi didn’t have meaningful projects, that is why he had no projects to commission. We have meaningful projects and we will continue to commission them.

“Projects like Sakpenwa-Bori Road, National Industrial Court, Port Harcourt Pleasure Park, Rivers State Ecumenical Centre, Federal High Court Complex, Court of Appeal, Igwuruta-Chokocho, College of Medical Sciences building, Elelenwo-Akpajo, Traditional Rulers Secretariat, Rumuokoro Market and Park, Bonny-Bille-Nembe Jetty, Government Secondary School, Onne, Government Girls Secondary School, Rumuokwuta  and several others were the brainchild of this administration.

“Our projects have overwhelmed them, everyday they are worried. We are here to contribute our efforts to the development of Rivers State “, Governor Wike said.

He said instead of complaining about the high level performance of the present administration, Minister of Transportation should focus his energy on the completion of the Port Harcourt International Airport, revival of  the seaports and the completion of the East-West Road.

“Look at the dilapidated nature of the Port Harcourt International Airport, the abandoned seaports and the neglected east-west road. Amaechi has not attracted a single project to Rivers State .

“As a Minister of State for Education I brought the Faculty of Law  at the University of Port Harcourt.  I also attracted the Claude Ake Faculty of Social Sciences Building.  I attracted major  grants of N500million each to Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic Bori, Ignatius Ajuru University and ensured the major rehabilitation of over 22 Primary and Secondary Schools in the state .  As Minister of Transportation, what have you done, what have you brought to your people. I challenge him to tell us just one project he attracted  to Rivers State “, the Rivers State Governor said.

On Rivers State University, Governor Wike noted he will ensure that the institution becomes the best. He assured that the School of Nursing will be reconstructed to ensure that it becomes part of the College of Medical Sciences.

He added that the State Government will build a proper hostel to replace the prefabricated hostel in the institution.

  • Makarfi: democracy lovers’ll back Wike

Former Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP )  Senator Ahmed Makarfi has said Nigerians who love democracy will always stand with Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.

The former Kaduna State governor spoke yesterday at the inauguration of the  Nyemoni Grammar School, Abonnema in  Akuku-Toru Local Government Area.

He said: “Nigerians who love democracy are with Governor Wike.  If not for Governor Wike’s enormous contributions, opposition would have died. That would  have been the end of democracy in Nigeria .

“It is suicidal for the people of Rivers State to let Governor Wike go.  It is in the interest of the state that Governor Wike is re-elected to stabilise the development process of Rivers State  .”

Senator Makarfi said everything is being done to distract Governor Wike, but he has remained focused, delivering key projects across the state.

“The most targeted politician in Nigeria today is Governor Wike. Everything is being done to distract you, but you must keep on working “, Senator Makarfi said.

He said Wike has raised the bar in the delivery of projects and programmes, noting  that others will need a rocket to reach Wike’s level .

Wike said his brand of politics is targeted at improving the living condition of the people.

“I came into politics for the execution of projects. To improve the quality of lives of the people and make them happy. We are displaying our projects for the world to see”, he said.

Governor Wike said that the revival and total re-equipping of the school was in line with his promise to the Abonnema people during the electioneering campaign.

“Communities that support Government will get more projects. Abonnema is one of the first towns where the people came out to support us wholeheartedly “, he said.

He announced the take over of the school from the mission and directed the Rivers State Senior Secondary School Board to commence the process for the posting of principal and teachers to the school.

The governor added that the government would work towards establishing a faculty of one of the state-owned universities in the area.

Wike noted that local contractors will be engaged to maintain facilities in  the institution.

Rivers State Education Commissioner Dr Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja said Wike revived the school two new hostels were constructed, while laboratories and libraries were built and equipped.

The Amayanabo of Abonnema,   King Disrael Gbobo Bob-Manuel,  commended Wike for his developmental strides in the area.

The Chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, Mr Rowland Sekibo,  endorsed Wike for a second term, saying that Akuku-Toru people would work hard to secure  the governor’s re-election.

  • I will not take a break on projects delivery, says Wike

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has declared that he will not slow down on projects delivery because the people  of the state deserve the very best.

Speaking after inspecting projects in Obio/Akpor and Ikwerre Local Government Areas yesterday, Wike said he was motivated to maintain the tempo of projects delivery to make up for the eight years that the state lost during the tenure of the immediate past administration.

Accompanied by Senator Samuel Anyanwu (PDP, Imo East) and Cross River PDP chieftain, Dr Sandy Onor, Wike said he would make  maximum  use of the opportunity to serve Rivers State to leave his positive footprints on the sands of time.

He said: “Not everyone has the privilege to serve.  What we are doing is to serve Rivers State to the best of our ability.”

  • Local Govt elections: Wike, Rivers APC draw battle line

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and the state’s chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have drawn the battle-line on the controversial local government elections fixed for tomorrow (Saturday).

Wike, in a statewide broadcast yesterday morning, accused APC and its leaders in Rivers state of planning to cause mayhem and disrupt the elections in Abua/Odual, Akuku-Toru, Asari-Toru, Degema, Emohua, Ikwerre, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, Opobo/Nkoro, and Tai.

Rivers governor, who is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), also alleged that the arrowheads of the “satanic” plot were the state’s Chairman of APC, Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, a former Rivers Commissioner for Agriculture, Emma Chindah; and Nigeria’s Ambassador to The Netherlands Oji Ngofa.

Wike accused the three leaders of the main opposition APC of recruiting and arming political thugs with guns to be deployed on the eve of the local government elections to create an atmosphere of insecurity in the mentioned councils and other LGAs of the state to scare voters to shun the polling stations.

Rivers governor also described Flag-Amachree as a double murder suspect, who refused to submit himself to trial, while claiming that the fugitive to justice recently emerged as a factional Rivers chairman of the APC against an alleged court order.

APC in Rivers, yesterday afternoon at a news conference in Port Harcourt, addressed by its Publicity Secretary, Chief Chris Finebone, however, declared that the state’s governor merely labelled angry PDP members threatening the sham and illegal council polls as APC members, since members of the party (APC) would not participate in the elections, in view of the cases in court, over Wike’s 2015 sack of the duly-elected LG chairmen and councillors.

It said: “Thursday morning, Rivers people and members of the APC were subjected to a piece of broadcast, in which Wike blurted out hardly legible lines in the name of a state broadcast concerning the sham local government council elections, in which he clearly mentioned some leaders of the APC he claimed were working to disrupt the sham polls in the state.

“It is absolutely important to quickly mention that the APC, its leaders and members across Rivers State have no stake in the sham local council elections and have no reason at all to consider or disrupt a process we have clearly distanced ourselves from and made such position known to the world.

“In the broadcast, Wike was simply showcasing his typical self by shying away from the groundswell of protests by cheated PDP members who have told him to his face that they will disrupt the sham council polls, especially in the LGAs he enumerated in his broadcast. It is clear without doubt that by dragging the names of the APC and its leaders into the fray, Wike was merely pre-empting the disruption his disgruntled party men and women have vowed to visit on the sham elections on Saturday. Attempting to place his fears at the doorsteps of the APC is the typical pedestrian and cowardly indwelling traits of the man called Wike.

“It is all too glaring to see that the target of Wike in the broadcast is to frame up his own members who may have agreed to vote out the candidates the Rivers governor imposed on their party against popular opinion of their members. It is noteworthy to state and Wike knows it that no APC member will get close to any polling booth. The Rivers governor harping so strongly about people voting and defending their votes is merely to frame up PDP members who have decided to vote for and defend the interest of their popular candidates against the choice Wike imposed on them.

“The APC leaders Wike listed in his broadcast are all out of Rivers State on various national and international assignments. Flag-Amachree and Chindah have been in Abuja and Lagos respecteively. Ngofa is in faraway Netherlands where he is the Nigerian Ambassador. Wike does not know the difference between political propaganda and outright white lies unbefitting of the high office of a governor.”

  • Wike praises Awuse for his commitment to Rivers

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has praised the former Chairman of the Governing Council of Kaduna Polytechnic, Chief Sergeant Awuse, for his commitment to the development of the state.

Speaking during a thanksgiving service in honour of Chief Awuse at the Saint Luke Anglican church, Emohua yesterday, Wike said God healed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain because his services were needed by Rivers people.

He said Awuse over the years proved that he was committed to the progress of the state and would never betray Rivers people.

He said: “Chief Sergeant Awuse means a lot to us. He supports the growth of the state with all his strength.  If he is with you, go home and sleep.

“He will never betray you in any way. We thank God that has healed him. We join his family and friends to bless God for his life”.

Wike commended Awuse for the initiative to set up a foundation to tackle cancer in the state.  He said the state government will support the foundation.

Awuse said he was in church to thank God for healing him after a surgery for cancer.

He said he went through intensive treatment in a London Hospital where he spent four months.

The former Chairman of the Governing Council of Kaduna Polytechnic said he was in church to publicly acknowledge God’s protection and also create awareness on the prevalence of cancer .

“The highlight of my position is that God has healed me and I am well. I vowed  to assist people with similar condition,” Awuse.

He said that several less  privileged Nigerians are dying due to poor health facilities and lack of information of health processes.

Awuse said that he would set up a non-governmental organisation to tackle cancer and provide credible information to people.

  • Wike, Rivers APC bicker over ‘6-month bailout for Ekiti workers’

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and the state’s chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday disagreed on the alleged six-month bailout for Ekiti State’s workers.

Rivers APC, through its Publicity Secretary, Chief Chris Finebone, condemned Wike’s decision to pay six months salary arrears of Ekiti workers with Rivers money before the governorship election, when Rivers government workers and pensioners were being owed for many months, which it said must be protested.

Wike, through Rivers Commissioner for Information and Communications, Emma Okah, in his reaction, described the APC’s statement as “false and a huge lie from familiar lips.”

Rivers APC pointed out that what started as a rumour, had now been confirmed, simply because Wike wanted to impress Governor Ayodele Fayose of the same Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other leaders of the main opposition party, while scheming to be vice president in 2019.

It said: “The curious bailout Wike is about offering his Ekiti State counterpart, Ayo Fayose, will be coming against the backdrop of imminent reduction of the number of civil servants of Rivers State, which Wike has ordered. It comes against a decaying secretariat complex (in Port Harcourt), where Rivers State civil servants endure untold inconveniences every working day.

“Indeed, it comes against the suffering of pensioners owed many months of gratuity and pension. Paradoxically, even political appointees of Wike are enduring untold hardship, suffering and smiling, except for the select cabal, popularly referred to as Cardinals.”

Rivers APC also noted that after the defeat of PDP in the 2015 presidential election, Wike effectively took over control of the party nationally and had since been spending billions of naira belonging to Rivers taxpayers to sustain the PDP.

It said: “Sadly, Wike spent billions of naira to hold an ill-fated national convention of the party in Port Harcourt in May, 2016. Afterwards, Wike single-handedly sustained the PDP with billions of naira belonging to Rivers people throughout the period the party was under the leadership of Alhaji Ahmed Markarfi-led caretaker committee. Wike, it was, who used the resources of Rivers State to fund the protracted legal tussle between the caretaker committee and its factional group, led by Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.

“Following the victory of the Makarfi-led caretaker committee at the Supreme Court, Wike, again, bankrolled the national convention of the party that followed in 2017 with Rivers State commonwealth. This culminated in Wike decimating and silencing the Southwest zone and other leaders in PDP, to successfully capture the national structure of PDP by installing his acolyte and stooge, Prince Uche Secondus (from Andoni LGA of Rivers State), as the party’s national chairman.

“Quite sadly, the decision of Wike to pay outstanding six months salaries owed to Ekiti State civil servants is coming as part of Wike’s inordinate desire to maintain his position as the leading financier and national leader of PDP. Whereas, other PDP governors are busy developing their states and bettering the standard of living of their people, Wike remains consumed by the obscene and inordinate craving to continue as the little god of PDP.

“While no one begrudges him the pursuit of his vane glory, the bitter truth is that Wike is fritting away resources that should be channelled at bettering the lot of the ordinary Rivers people.”

The main opposition APC in Rivers also stated that it found it hard to believe that Rivers governor that came into office and immediately discontinued and returned Rivers youths on overseas scholarship, on account of lack of funds, found it convenient to play Father Christmas for purely political reasons.

It said: “We ask: why is it that other PDP governors of equally oil-rich Akwa Ibom and Delta States are not throwing the commonwealth of their people at sustaining and controlling the PDP?

“Wike, in his bid to take advantage of the killings in Benue State some months ago, doled out N500 million to Benue State, with the sole aim of luring Governor Samuel Ortom (of APC) to join the PDP. The Benue State governor collected the money and boldly rebuffed Wike’s entreaties. In that drama, the poor Rivers taxpayers were the losers, while Wike continues in his satanic extravaganza with our money.

“The APC calls on Rivers people to protest the decision of Wike to, once again, embark on this senseless and atrocious decision to spend billions of naira belonging to Rivers people to pay six months outstanding salaries of Ekiti State civil servants, while the workers and people of Rivers State are suffering poverty, indignities and penury.”

The main opposition party also admonished Rivers electorate to prepare to replace Wike next year, in order to ensure good governance and commensurate development in the Niger Delta state.

  • Wike: Fed Govt plans to frame me

    •SARS men arrested for crime

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike yesterday accused the Federal Government of plotting to frame him up.

Wike spoke at a thanksgiving service in honour of the Chairman of Rivers State Local Government Service Commission, Chief Azubuike Nmerukini, yesterday at the St Thomas Anglican Church, Diobu.

He added that two Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) men were arrested for robbery and kidnapping.

Wike said the incident confirmed his protracted allegation that the Commander of SARS in the state,  Akin Fakorode, and his men were responsible for almost all the crimes in the state.

Sergeant Ndubuisi Okoro,(Fakorode’s  orderly) was arrested for armed robbery,  while his counterpart, Sergeant Christopher Abakpa, is being held for kidnapping.

Rivers police spokesman  Nnamdi Omoni, a Deputy Suprindentent of Police(DSP), confirmed the incident yesterday however declined making the identity of the duo public immediately, according to him,  for security reasons.

Omoni said:  “I can confirm the arrest of two officers of SARS for finding their contact numbers in the phone contact list of two criminal suspects arrested by the command for kidnapping.

“This is indeed unfortunate and condemnable, that a serving Police Officers are linked to criminals.  However investigations have already commenced to ascertain the kind if relationship they share with these criminal suspects.

“The officers have already been arrested and I can assure you that us at the end of the investigation, they are found culpable to the crime, the course of law will certainly take due effect on them,  their suspected accomplice are helping the police to get to the root of the matter. “

Wike said: “I am alerting Nigerians now  because the I know the police high command will sweep the matter under the carpet.”

Wike said the Federal Government has contacted a Lebanese who has been directed to claim that he received money from him (Wike)  to procure arms  for the 2019 elections.

He noted that initially Nigerians thought he was playing politics until former President Olusegun Obasanjo accused the Federal Government of planning to frame him up.

“The Federal Government has arranged with a Lebanese to say that I told him to buy arms for the purpose of the forthcoming elections.

“I am not close to any Lebanese, let alone give money to anyone to buy arms for elections. We have dutifully served our people and we don’t need to purchase arms for elections.

“If elections are held 20, 000 times, we will win because our projects have positively impacted the lives of our people “.

The governor stated that the APC Federal Government is also planning to sponsor crisis in Rivers State ahead of the 2019 elections, for the state’s election to be postponed. He said the target is to use security agencies for rigging purposes.

“They plan to cause so much crisis in the state so that Rivers election is held on a separate date. Their plot will fail. Rivers election will hold same day with that of other states.

  • Wike, Peterside disagree on squandering of N500m on hatchet jobs, praise singers

The Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, and the Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dakuku Peterside, have disagreed on the allegation of squandering over N500 million in the last one year on hatchet jobs and hiring praise singers for Wike’s 2019 re-election.

Peterside, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers during the 2015 election, according to his media team in an online statement yesterday, levelled the allegation against Wike, while entertaining questions from reporters on the sidelines of the ongoing International Labour Organisation (ILO) conference in Geneva, Switzerland.

Rivers governor, who is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in his reaction through the state’s Commissioner for Information and Communications, Chief Emma Okah, however, asked the NIMASA chief to show proof of the “irresponsible” allegation of squandering over N500 million.

Wike said: “Peterside is a confused person. He and his sources are lying. I have nothing personally against President Muhammadu Buhari, the Federal Government, the Inspector-General of Police (Ibrahim Idris), Rivers Police Commissioner (Zaki Ahmed) and Commander of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (F-SARS) in Rivers (Akin Fakorede), but security matters must not be politicised.”

Rivers governor also asked the former member of the House of Representatives to always think before talking and levelling false allegations against him and his performing government.

Peterside said: “With fear gripping Wike that he will lose the Rivers governorship election in 2019, he has embarked on a blitz of campaigns aimed at blackmailing the Presidency, police, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), army and leadership of the APC at local and national levels, among others.

“In the last one year, Wike has been funding open and underground insurrection, aimed at portraying the Presidency in bad light, just as he has devoted enormous resources of the state to blackmail the IGP, Rivers Police Commissioner, Commander of F-SARS in Rivers State, among others.

“With some INEC officials in Rivers State currently facing allegations of being bribed to influence the outcome of 2015 general elections, the Rivers governor has suddenly developed high fever, using all manner of platforms to denigrate the electoral body and trying to make people believe he was not a beneficiary of the election heist.”

The NIMASA chief also disclosed that he was reliably informed by sources within Government House, Port Harcourt that not less than N500 million had been spent so far on the hatchet jobs, with another round of campaign being mobilised in the next couple of weeks.

He revealed that the Rivers governor had recruited people specifically for the purpose of generating propaganda against President Buhari, the Minister for Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, Senator Andrew Uchendu, APC Chairman in Rivers, Ojukaye Flag-Amachree and himself.

  • Why Wike must be voted out in 2019, by APC NWC member

    • ‘My projects in 23 local govts’ll campaign for me’

The Deputy National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Victor Giadom, has stated that the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, must be voted out in 2019, to move the state forward.

Giadom, a former Rivers Commissioner for Works, spoke yesterday at the playground of Community Primary School, Obeama-Asa, Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers state, while receiving into APC, the defecting Wike’s former Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Bright Jacob, a former member of Rivers House of Assembly, David Ihute (Oyigbo constituency), other PDP leaders and their over five thousand supporters.

While further speaking at the carnival-like event, the member of the National Working Committee (NWC) of APC (Giadom) said: “The defection of Wike’s former commissioner, Hon. Bright Jacob, and also the coming of a very strong lawmaker in the Rivers House of Assembly, Hon. David Ihute, other PDP leaders in Oyigbo LGA and their teeming supporters to APC mark the end of PDP in Oyigbo Local  Government Area.

“Wike’s government is being run fraudulently. His government must be voted out in 2019, to move Rivers State forward. APC will produce Rivers governor in 2019.”

The youthful Rivers Chairman of the APC, Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, in his remarks, urged members of the party not to be afraid of threats from Wike and other leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but to be determined to effect a change next year.

Flag-Amachree said: “The wind of change is blowing everywhere in Rivers State. Just yesterday (on Saturday), we were at Ahoada Town, the headquarters of Ahoada East LGA, where we welcomed into APC from PDP, Hon. Martins Mana, the representative of Ahoada East constituency one in the Rivers State House of Assembly. Today (yesterday) we are in Oyigbo LGA and we will move to other LGAs to receive defectors from PDP to APC.

“Rivers people are tired of Wike’s government. They are mostly suffering and smiling. This is not the time to hesitate. Come and join us. Let us form a political revolution that will sweep Wike out of Government House, Port Harcourt in 2019. The signs are everywhere that Wike will be a one-term governor.”

Wike’s former commissioner for commerce and industry, while also speaking, urged APC members, especially his teeming supporters, not to allow themselves to be intimidated by the Rivers governor and his allies.

Jacob said: “Thank you very much for receiving us in APC. We will choke PDP members in Oyigbo LGA. It is not about making noise. It is about our capacity to mobilise.

“We are going for soul-winning. We have moved to APC and by God’s grace, we will conquer. In 2019, APC will take over Rivers State next year.”

Wike, in his reaction through the Rivers Commissioner for Information and Communications,  Chief Emma Okah, insisted that his capital-intensive and people-oriented projects across the 23 LGAs of the state would campaign for him next year, while remaining focused and would not be distracted by APC jokers.

  • Jonathan, Secondus, Wike, Dankwambo, other PDP leaders converge on Ekiti

Former President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday inaugurated the 1.3 kilometre Ado-Ekiti Flyover with leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) demanding a credible governorship election on July 14.

They also urged President Muhammadu Buhari to allow the conduct of a free, fair and transparent general election in the country in 2019.

Sounding the battle cry ahead of the next set of elections were Gombe State Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman Uche Secondus.

Also at the inauguration where they canvassed support for the PDP candidate in the Ekiti governorship poll, Prof. Kolapo

Olusola, were Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel and Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

The setting was the inauguration of a new governor’s office constructed by the Governor Ayo Fayose administration.

Jonathan arrived the scene at exactly 2.22 pm when Wike was making his speech and was welcomed by other guests who were seated before his arrival.

The former President was in the state for the inauguration of a flyover built by the Fayose administration.

Secondus, who noted that Ekiti had been witnessing positive development under Fayose, urged the people of the state to vote at the next governorship election and the 2019 general elections.

The PDP boss warned the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government against any attempt to rig the Ekiti governorship poll and general election, stressing that “rigging the election would have dire consequences.”

Secondus said: “The PDP has demonstrated that it can conduct free and fair primary; all we are asking for is that the coming elections should be free and fair.

“We are asking the Federal Government to allow the coming elections to be free and fair for the world to see that Nigeria is moving forward.

“Any attempt to rig is a recipe for crisis. I hope it will not start

from Ekiti. The 1983 crisis started from Ekiti and the (77-man APC) Committee should show us what they have done.

“They should not come and rig election here. We are asking them that it should be one man, one vote. President Buhari should allow one man, one vote.”

Wike said: “This loyal and humble deputy governor (Olusola) will continue with the good work of Fayose.

“Ekiti people will vote for him because of what he can offer.

“The only thing they (APC) have is to rig election. They have told us the election will be free and fair. When election comes, don’t give them any chance; go and protect your votes.

“They said they have set up a Committee of 77, what is our business with that?

“If you say they will not intimidate you, it is a lie. But I want to charge our security men to allow for a free and fair election.”

Dankwambo said: “If politics is about development, we need not campaign in Ekiti State. Politics is about development and that is what we stand for.

“I believe the person that has emerged as our candidate here will do more and more than Fayose. He is experienced and he has learnt a lot and he will deliver.”

Fayose boasted that the APC candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, would be defeated at the Ekiti governorship election despite the instruments of coercion that would be deployed in his favour.

He said: “Whether they like it or not, you (Olusola) are the next

governor. If they like, let them bring their Army and Police, they are wasting their time.

“It is your time to shine. Battles are not won by the strength of the Army. You are a divine candidate on a divine assignment.

“I am proud to say I believe in you.”
