    Fidelity Bank rewards promo winners

    Seven lucky customers won N16 million in the ongoing Fidelity Bank Get Alert in Millions promo held yesterday in Lagos. The cash win brings the total amount received by winners to N49 million in both monthly and quarterly draws of the promo.

    Some of the winners include Johnson Chukwude N5 million star prize; Saminu Sani, N3 million; Toheed Bolaji, N2 million; Oge Mordi, N1 million among others.

    Twelve other lucky winners went home consolation prizes comprising of refrigerators and generators

    Speaking at the event, the bank’s Executive Director, Shared Services, Mrs Chijoke Ugochukwu said  the bank has conducted several draws since September last year during which 72 winners have emerged, winning the sum of N49 million and other consolation prizes.

    She said that the bank has tried to make the draw as transparent as possible, as bank’s staff and members of their immediate families are not allowed to win.

    She said: “We have conducted five draws so far since we started in September 2016. Based on the five monthly draws and one quarterly draws so far 72 winners have emerged all together and a total of N49 million has been given out. Today, we move on to another level of the sixth monthly draw and second quarterly draw”.

    The bank’s Divisional Head Retail Banking, Richard Madiebo, said the promo is a way of thanking consistent and loyal customers. He also said that the promo is also a platform to show their customers the benefit of doing business with the bank. He said that the initiative of the promo right from time was to imbibe the saving culture in Nigerians in other to save for the rainy days.

    “What we do in our promos is just a way of saying thank you to our customers, and  also show the prospects, opportunities aligned with doing business with us.

    Many winners have emerged in the ongoing Flexx promo organised by First City Monument Bank (FCMB). Samuel Precious Onyekachi is now a proud owner of a brand new Hyundai Veloster car, courtesy of the promo.

    She emerged winner at the draws held at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba Lagos, on February 14. The event was part of the bank’s activities to celebrate this year’s Valentine Day.

    Another customer, David Eboh, also won a smart phone and was full of commendation to the bank for developing a product focused not only on exciting the youths, but empowering them for life after school. ‘’I consider the FCMB Flexx product as a life-changing one, because of the many benefits it offers not just to me at the moment, but in future.     Among other fantastic prizes doled out to the hundreds of students, who graced the colourful and fun-filled event, another set of 100 winners received smart phones, while 20 others were beneficiaries of bursary awards to the tune of N50,000 each.

    Skye Bank rewards MoneyGram promo winners

    Three lucky customers of Skye Bank Plc have emerged winners in the on-going Skye Bank – MoneyGram “Receive n Win Promo”.

    The winners, which include Oladele Ojo Femi, Babatunde Sodiq and Akinmusire Seyi, emerged winners in the first monthly raffle draw of the promo and won the sum of N100,000.00 each. A brand new car is up for grabs at the grand finale of the promo exercise scheduled for March this year.

    The promo is meant to encourage increased patronage of the services of the wire money transfer franchise; and is specifically targeted at customers who receive their transfers in Skye Bank.

    Speaking at the presentation of the cheque to winners of the promo, the Executive Director, Retail and Lagos Commercial Banking, Mrs. Markie Idowu, disclosed that winners are customers of the Bank who received transfers in Skye Bank within the month of December 2016.

    According to Mrs. Idowu, “The winners emerged by meeting the set criterion; they received at least one MoneyGram transfer from a Skye Bank branch within the last 30 days. The rewards will continue for the duration of the promotion with three lucky winners emerging monthly.

    Akinmusire Seyi, one of the recipients of the cash reward, was full of praise for Skye Bank and commended the bank for living up to its billing; while promising to spread the good news among family and friends.

    The winners are customers of Akungba branch (at Iwaro Oka Cash Center) in Ondo State; Shomolu and Ikorodu Branches, both in Lagos. The presentation was made at the Bank’s Head Office Annex: Adeola Hopewell Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

    The MoneyGram promo is still ongoing (across all its agent’s locations in Nigeria) until February 28, 2017; where more customers stand a chance to emerge as winners for receiving money in cash at any Skye Bank branch or transferred directly into the savings/current account domiciled in the Bank. The promotion is open to both account and non-account holders and runs from December 2016 to end of February 2017.

  • History competition produces winners

    The 2016 National History competition came to an end recently producing winners in the Lagos and Abuja zones.

    StarGate International Academy, Abuja, won the Junior Category for the Abuja Zone.  They were followed by Regent High School and Noble Hall Leadership Academy for Girls, which hosted the competition, in the second and third positions.

    In the senior category, Government Day Secondary School, Gauraka Niger State came first; Star-Gate International Academy came second, and Noble Hall Leadership Academy clinched the third prize.

    The junior category for the Lagos Zone which involved schools in the Southern part of the country, was won by Chrisland High School, Ikeja Lagos with 80 points. Corona Secondary School Agbara in Ogun State came second with 76 points; while Faith Heritage College Abeokuta Ogun State was third with 74 points.

    In the senior category, the Redeemers High School of the Redeemed Camp, Ogun State, won with 78 points; Dansol High School, Agidingbi Ikeja Lagos, and host of the competition was second with 76 points; while Faith Heritage School, Abeokuta, Ogun State was third position with 68 points.

    National coordinator of the competition, Mr James Onimisi, said its aim is to stimulate interest in History as a subject.

    “The essence National History Competition is to make our students who are also the leaders of tomorrow have a glimpse of history with a view to making them become responsible and better leaders. We equally want to popularize the subject so that it continues to be taught in all our schools in Nigeria as a compulsory subject. We believe that a country without a sense of history is doomed,” he said.

     

  • WINNERS EMERGE IN VARSITY PAGEANT

    WINNERS of the 2016 Face of University Nigeria unisex pageant have emerged at the grand finale of the pageant held last Saturday at Ovation Halls, Victoria Island, Lagos.

    While Miss Benjamin Anne of the Department of Vocational and Technical Education, Ambrose Ali University, Edo State, emerged the winner of the female category, Nelson Enwerem of the Department of Pure Physics, University of Calabar beat other contestants to emerge winner of the male category.

    The two students were decorated as queen and king and presented with the sum of N500, 000 and a car each.

    The winners, according to the organisers, will also enjoy modelling contracts and corporate endorsements among other perks.

    According to the organisers of the event, Elkemzym Entertainment Ltd, the pageant is an annual unisex beauty pageant that brings students together from different universities, polytechnics and education colleges in Nigeria.

    “We believe in affecting lives and creating platforms for young Nigerians,” said Mr Udukomose Lemuel, the Chief Executive Officer of the pageant.

    “We are committed to meeting the socio-cultural and economic needs of young Nigerians and helping them shine in their different fields.”

    In his speech shortly after he was declared winner, Enwerem said he would use his reign to will empower, break barriers and change lives of many students, while Anne, on her part, enjoined youths to pursue their dreams and shun bad companies in order to excel in life.

    Fidelity Bank PLC at the weekend, presented cash and gift prizes to winners that emerged in the first quarter edition of its  Get Alert in Millions Promo draws held in various regions across the country.

    The lucky winners that emerged from a draw witnessed by officials from Consumer Protection Council (CPC) and others went home with different prizes.

    A total of 19 winners had emerged winners of various cash prizes and other consolation prizes including a star prize of N5 million which was won by Salman Umar Musa of the  University of Maiduguri branch.

    Customers that were rewarded with cash prizes for the third promo across the country were Rahama Yenusa Tahir from Maiduguri Branch Borno State, North that won N1 million, Emelie Emmanuel, Iriakari, Lagos, N1 million, Olaide Oladejo, Nsugbe Branch, Southeast, N1 million, Peace Chinenye, Ado- Ekiti Branch, Southwest, N2 million, Ise Iboro, Nakatos Branch, Abuja, N2 million and Sunday Uzo, Benin Branch, Southsouth, N3 million.

    Fidelity rewards promo winners with cash, gifts

    Fidelity Bank Plc yesterday rewarded its savings customers across the country who won different cash and consolation prizes in the third draw of its ongoing Get Alert in Millions promo draw.

    The winners, who emerged from different regions of the country got different cash prizes ranging from N1 million to N5 million.

    During the electronic draw, the quarterly star prize of N5 million was won by Salman Umar Musa of University of Maiduguri branch, while three lucky customers from South/ East, Lagos and Northern regions of the bank won N1 million each.

    Likewise, two customers from Abuja and South/ West regions got N2 million each and a customer from South/South region won N3 million.

    Also aside the cash prizes, other customers also won consolations prizes ranging from refrigerators and generating sets.

    The winners emerged from a transparent randomization process which was vented by the bank’s control team and witnessed by officials from Consumer Protection Council (CPC) and other regulators.

    Six customers that emerged star winners for the third promo across the country were Rahama Yenusa Tahir from Maiduguri Branch Borno State, who won N1 million; Emelie Emmanuel, Iriakari, Lagos, N1 million; Olaide Oladejo, Nsugbe Branch, South/East, won N1 million; Peace Chinenye, Ado- Ekiti Branch, South/ West, won N2 million; Ise Iboro, Nakatos Branch, Abuja, won N2 million and Sunday Uzo, Benin Branch, South/ South, won N3 million.

    According to the Fidelity Bank’s Managing Director Nnamdi Okonkwo, the promo was part of efforts to support and encourage culture of savings among Nigerians and promote the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN’s) financial inclusion policy.

    He explained that the promo which was the sixth in series the bank has conducted in the last nine years is structured to make savings accounts holders millionaires.

    Okonkwo, who was represented by the bank’s Executive Director, Shared Services and Products, Chijioke Ugochukwu noted that the draw was unique because it was the first quarterly draw in the get alert promo and it coincides with Christmas season.

    The bank’s Head, Savings Group, Mrs. Janet Nnabuko explained that to qualify for the monthly and quarterly draw an existing customers are to pay in N10,000 into his or her account for the monthly draw while N50.000 qualifies one for the quarterly.

    She stated further that new customers are required to open an account for with N20.000 to be qualified for monthly draw.

    Head Retail Banking, Mr. Richard Madiebo noted that the promo was introduced to help penetrate and advance financial inclusion in the country.

    He said the bank launched the scheme in a bid to encourage savings culture and also to reward customers for their loyalty.

  • Bible contest winners named

    AN SS 3 pupil of Olaitan Zion College, Kwara State, Favour Mustapha has emerged winner of this year’s edition of the National Secondary Schools Bible Competition of the Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN).

    Over 100 pupils drawn from the six geo-political zones contested in the yearly event, which held in Palmgrove, Lagos State, penultimate weekend.

    Six schools eventually made it to the national level.

    They were Mary Sunner Juniorate Girls School, Okpoife in Imo State; Olaitan Zion College, Offa, Kwara State; First Baptist Academy, Port Harcourt in Rivers State; Baptist Academy, Kano; Ivan Private School, Maiduguri, Borno State; and ECWA Secondary School, Kafanchan in Kaduna in Kaduna State.

    Following Olaitan Zion College in second place was Sunner Girls School, while First Baptist Academy, Port Harcourt, came third..

    BSN Secretary-General, Rev Dare Ajiboye expressed satisfaction with the event.

    He advised the pupils against premarital sex, warning that fornication is a sin against God.

    Earlier, chairman of the occasion, Mr Timilehim Tairu urged the contestants to work hard to attain the imperishable trophy of the kingdom of God, regardless of their position in the competition.

    Meanwhile, Favour, said: ”I am grateful to God. I thank the organizers and I urge all Christian youths to join in the competition and not be ashamed of losing.”

    FCMB ends season three promo, names winners

    First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Limited yesterday ended the ‘’FCMB Millionaire Promo Season 3’’ after eight months of rewarding customers.

    The exercise which ended with the grand finale draws held across Nigeria was witnessed by officials of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Consumer Protection Council (CPC), customers of the bank and other dignitaries.

    Four customers of the bank won N2 million each at the electronic draws held in Abuja, Lagos, Ibadan (Oyo state) and Calabar (Cross River state). There were also cash gifts while 642 account holders won LED televisions, generating sets, decoders, tablets, smart phones and other consolation prizes at the zonal draws.

    The reward of N2 million each went to Ibrahim Fatai (Lagos); Abuja & North), Okolo Obiekwe; (South-East/South- South), Chief Amobi Egbe and Mrs. Omolafe Monica (South-west).

    Mrs. Omolafe, expressed gratitude to FCMB for being a true partner in progress. She said: “I am grateful to God and FCMB for this big surprise. The bank should continue with the great things it has been doing’’.

    CPC’s Zonal Co-ordinator, South-west 2, Garba Ahmad, praised the bank for conducting the exercise with integrity. He said: “FCMB followed due process from the beginning of the promo till the emergence of the various winners”.

    FCMB’s Divisional Head, Retail Banking, Olu Akanmu, said that with the grand finale of the draws held nationwide, the Bank has fulfilled the promise it made to customers to reward those who participated and qualified in the promo and the four draws organised during the exercise.
