    Let success, music speak for you like Wizkid, Shallipopi advises colleagues

    Sensational singer, Crown Uzama aka Shallipopi, has advised colleagues on the pattern of staying relevant in the entertainment field.

    He urged them to emulate the pacesetter and Grammy-winning star Wizkid’s social media decorum to maintain stardom.

    He said excessively vocal artistes often tend to lose their values.

    Speaking in a recent interview with 78 Factory, Shallipopi said: “To stay relevant, you stay silent. When you talk too much, you lose value. Let your music and your success speak for you like Wizkid.”

    The Edo-born singer also disclosed during the interview that his genre of music isn’t afrobeats but afro-pluto.

    Shallipopi became an internet sensation after his song ‘Elon Musk’ went viral.

    He later remixed the song with Zlatan Ibile and Fireboy DML which solidified his stardom.

    Superstar singer Ibrahim Ayodeji Balogun aka Wizkid old video has resurfaced online where he was seen talking about his feud with industry counterpart, Davido.

    It is no secret that fans frequently disputed over who was the biggest artiste between Wizkid and Davido, resulting in a feud between the singers.

    The ‘Essence’ hit maker, known for his fame and fortune, claimed in an old video that he has more important things to accomplish than fight someone.

    The interviewer in the previous video inquired whether he wanted to grab a drink with Davido. Wizkid claims that he gets along with everyone.

    In his words: “I’m cool with everyone, If you pray for me, I will pray for you, but if you swear for me, I will swear for you too. I have a son, a three year old son, I have more important issues to deal with my life, I’m not into beef or online shit I have real life problems. I’m just trying to survive and live my life. I’m a gentle boy and am living my life lowkey.”

    Famous music producer, Samuel Oguachuba aka Samklef has tagged Wizkid the number one in the industry following his beef with the new father of twins, Davido.

    O.B.O, as he is fondly called, had stated that Samklef shouldn’t have shared the footage of a video with the twins but the music producer retorted that it was unfair for Davido to criticise him since he wasn’t the first to share the video.

    In a post on his Twitter page, he noted that he has come to conclude based on how celebrities act around Wizkid shows that he is a star above others.

    He crowned WizKid as the number musician before others in the Nigerian music industry.

    Samklef wrote: “Observing how other celebrities behave around Wizkid makes it clear that he is the star among stars, highly respected by his peers. No 1 before others. Samklef noni say so who wan argue?“.

    Nigerian celebrities stepped out in grand style for the burial ceremony of award-winning music superstar, Ayodeji Balogun aka Wizkid’s late mother.

    The Nation reported that Wizkid lost his mother, Mrs Jane Dolapo Balogun around 1.30 am on Friday, August 18th, 2023.

    Following her demise, the family honored her with a grand burial ceremony for a life well spent.

    On Friday night, Wizkid’s mom was finally laid to rest and celebrities came out in numbers to honor the deceased and support their colleague.

    Cynthia Morgan slams artists for snubbing Wizkid’s mother funeral

    Dancehall artist-turned-prophetess Madrina aka Cynthia Morgan, has slammed Nigerian artists for failing to attend Wizkid’s mother’s funeral.

    Wizkid buried his late mother, Mrs Jane Morayo Dolapo Balogun, on Friday.

    The videos that emerged from the funeral ceremony in Lagos showed that it was low-key and not as star-studded as anticipated.

    Reacting via her Instagram story, Morgan bemoaned the absence of Wizkid’s colleagues at the funeral.

    She wrote: “Not one male or female colleague of Wizkid is at his mum’s burial. Nawa!”

    Wizkid’s mother, Mrs Balogun, died on August 18, 2023, in London, United Kingdom.

    The singer in a video on social media, revealed that the pain is profound and it hurts deeply.

    He described the pain as the deepest he had ever felt in his life.

    Managing Director of Sony Music Publishing Nigeria, Godwin Tom has claimed popular singers Wizkid and Wande Coal took bank loans at some point to finance their musical careers.

    He disclosed this in an interview with 3Music TV, Accra, Ghana.

    He said Nigerian artists invested in themselves to achieve the level they are today.

    “If a Nigerian artist hears that his song is number one in Accra, he is showing up the next day. He is going to borrow money if he has to. He’s gonna come do radio interviews. He’s gonna find who he needs to talk to.

    “He’s gonna come in and find out how he can capitalise on that attention. He would do some club appearances. He would make some money. He could enter this country with a $100 and leave with $20,000.”

    Wizkid makes first public appearance after mom’s demise

    Grammy-winning singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, also known as Wizkid, has made his initial public appearance since his mother’s death.

    The singer’s mom, Mrs Jane Dolapo Balogun died on Friday, August 18, 2023, after an alleged battle with cancer for several months.

    The late Mrs. Balogun passed away in a London hospital at the age of 64.

    She was said to have received an abundance of care and attention, as Wizkid, who was known for his deep devotion, dedicated a significant amount of time to her.

    The event ‘Gabrielle Chanel Fashion Manifesto’ was held at The V&A in London, United Kingdom, on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

    Talent manager, Prince Theophiluz, has advised young artists to avoid getting signed under the umbrellas of Starboy, 30BG or Spaceship record labels. 

    According to the talent manager, these record labels which belong to Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy have made money and are at the peak of their careers.

    He disclosed that these artists do not have the time to nurture young artists they signed on their record labels. 

    Citing an example, he referenced the artist that was signed by Davido shortly after releasing his ‘Timeless’ album.

    Theophiluz stated the artist is nowhere to be found.

    He reiterated that upcoming artists should never dream of signing under a label that does not have time to nurture their talents.

    Famous Nigerian rapper and singer, Ice Prince Zamani, has expressed how proud he is of Wizkid and Burna Boy for their commendable growth and achievements in the music industry.

    He said Wizkid told him he was going to achieve everything he has now achieved musically ten years ago.

    The one-time BET Best African Act of the Year winner said he is one of those who watched the likes of Wizkid and Burna Boy grow in the music industry.

    The Super Cool Cat boss stated this while appearing in the latest episode of the Afrobeats Podcast hosted by British-Nigerian media personality, Adesope Olajide, popularly known as Shopsydoo.

    He said: “When I see what Afrobeats is achieving right now, it’s just like a dream come true. And not everybody will do it at the same time. But with God and with consistency, we all can do it.

    “I have seen Burna Boy tell me, Yo, I’m gonna do this. I’m gonna do that. And at that time, it was prophesying, not even sure how it was going to happen.

    “So, to see it happening now, it was like wow, wow, wow! Dreams do actually come true. I’m super proud of these guys. I’m one of those people who can tell you I watched these guys grow up.”
