  • Wizkid’s video generates wild reactions

    24 hours after the release of his latest video, Fever, broke the internet, popular hip pop star, Wizkid, is preparing  fans for another controversial video of his new single, Master Groove.

    The superstar took to Twitter to spice up what he described as the stew he served his fans, some of  who are yet to recover from the ‘shock’ of the Fever video that got tongues wagging.

    Enchanted by the Fever video, some of the elated fans tweeted bombarded the socio media with exciting posts.   @Jasmine_muzik: “We never recover from the Fever shock and you want to hammer master groove? Who knows?!!! It  might be King Ayo’s mum or Nicky m”

    @masculeerikz: “No No Wiz, the last stew you drop still dey pepper me for eye.”

    @ meekval: “Baba! You mean say you go pour us another stew?”

    @Jamisboobooluv:   “can’t wait oh, love master groove die..”

    The audio, Master Groove,  was  released  alongside Fever early this month to celebrate the nation’s independence. It was produced by Phantom, mixed and mastered by Sty Thaprodigy.

  • Wizkid releases video for ‘Fever’, features Tiwa Savage

    Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun aka Wizkid, on Wednesday released the anticipated video for his song ‘Fever’.

    The video surprisingly features singer Tiwa Savage in intimate scenes with Wizkid further fueling their relationship rumours.

    Prior to the release of the Meji Alabi-directed flick, Wizkid posted several teasers on his Instagram page @Wizkidayo. He wrote, “Fever video in a bit.”

    Interestingly, none of the teasers revealed the featuring of Savage especially as the duo are portrayed as ‘lovers’ in the video.

    NAN reports that as at press time, the video had gathered over 70,000 views and fans took to the comment section to express their surprise at Savage’s featuring.

    @MHDX commented, “I didn’t realise that was Tiwa until about 30 seconds in. Don’t know if I should be happy or jealous.”

    NAN reports that ‘Fever’ is one of the only two solo singles Wizkid has released in 2018. The other is titled ‘Master Groove’.

  • Minnesota governor declares October 6 ‘Wizkid Day’

    Award winning Artist, Wizkid, has been honoured in the United States by the governor of Minnesota, Mark Dayton.

    Dayton, declared Oct, 6 every year as Wizkid day.

    According to the proclamation on his tweeter handle @wizkid, the artiste becomes the first African artiste to sell out Skyway Theatre on Oct.

    The only other artist who has achieved same feat in Minnesota, is Beyonce .

    Wizkid who just released “Fever” and “Master Groove”, he’s currently on tour in America.

    Wizkid, recently walked the runway at the Dolce and Gabanna show in Milan, Italy.

    He strutted alongside supermodel Naomi Campbell and musician Tinie Tempah.

    The music star is also the first African artist to walk the runway at a Dolce and Gabbana fashion show with his music `Soco’ played at the background.

    Wizkid started recording music at age 11 and managed to release a collaborative album with the Glorious Five, a group he and a couple of his church friends formed.

  • Wizkid, Pasuma, others for Idumota day

    Pop stars, Small Doctor, Olamide, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Indowest, Malaika, Pasuma, Osupa and K1 will entertain at the Idumota Day celebration which will hold between September 25 and October 1.

    Organisers said that security has been put in place for the week-long fiesta which holds in Lagos Island. And according to the chairman planning committee, Alhaji Azeez Adekunle Lawal a.k.a Kunle Poly, the security would include men of the Nigeria Army and Nigeria Police Force.

    Kunle Poly also told all invitees not to nurse any fear, adding that all the aforementioned security personnel would  be fully on ground.

    The celebration will also feature sporting activities like football competition, table tennis, Ayo, Ludo , skipping rope, dancing competition, snookers etc.  Aside festivities, there would also be charity events.

    “During the course of the event, stationeries will be distributed to primary and the secondary schools in the community and also the orphanage homes will be visited. After the celebration, a library will be built in the community.”

    Popular Hip hop singer Ayodeji Balogun known as Wizkid has been feeding Nigerians with the “Shola Ogundu” drama.

    The aggrieved baby mama who took to her social media to narrate her ordeal to the public, complained of Wizkid negligence towards their son and herself.

    Shola also complained of how she has been labelled as a “Money Hungry Hoe” yet she has not enjoyed any privilege.

    In a bid to prove her point and Nigerians wrong about her labelled title, she released her chats with the ‘Soco crooner’.

    Wizkid has now taken to his Twitter page to write a suggestive post which is believed to be addressed to Shola.

    He wrote;

    “The smarter you get the less you speak”

    The social media in its own judgement have labeled Wizkid a ” dead beat dad” while some her of the opinion that she is trying to pull publicity stunts.

  • WIZKID, DAVIDO toast of fans in Cotonou this weekend

    A concert at which two of Nigeria’s biggest artistes, Wizkid and Davido will be performing in Cotonou, Benin Republic is not by some private event planners, but one put together by French speaking country’s  Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports. This explains how, even the government of another country recognizes the prowess of the Nigerian artistes.

    The two leading acts will be the toast of their francophone fans at a three-day festival at the Fidjrossè Beach of Cotonou, an event which started yesterday Friday, August 17 and will round off on Sunday August 19, 2018.

    The music festival is featuring a number of top artistes from the country with special performances from international superstars like Wizkid and Davido. Both artistes have been busy recently, with Wizkid headlining the One Africa Music Festival in New York last weekend, while Davido made headline for his show in Windhoek, Namibia.

  • Ini Edo, Wizkid, others for Peace Achievers Awards

    Nigerian entrepreneur, philanthropist and founder of Elisabeth Jack-Rich Foundation, Dr. Mrs. Elizabeth Jack Rich Tein Jr, Hon. Godwin T. Ebosa, hip-hop artiste, Wizkid are among celebrities that have been nominated for the 2018 edition of the ‘Peace Achievers Awards’.

    Slated for September 22, 2018 at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, organisers say that the event aims to celebrate personalities who have contributed to the peace and unity in Nigeria through their selfless efforts.

    Speaking on the award, Project Director of Peace Ambassador Agency, Amb. Kingsley Amafibe, said that it is vital to honour men and women in the country who have written their names on the sand of time with humanitarian achievements in the society.

    Other personalities nominated for the award include former president Goodluck Jonathan, Godwin Emefiele, Governor Aminu Bello Masari, Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, Suzzette Wike, Abdul Samad Rabiu of BUA Group, Hon. Dr. Godwin T. Ebosa, Mrs. Nnenna Obiejesi, Hon. Diepreye Abaye Leghemo and Mr. Akinaka Richard.

    In the entertainment circle, some nominees include Gordons, Ini Edo, Mayorkun, among others.

    According to Amafibe, Dr. Mrs. Elizabeth Jack Rich Tein Jr. is to be honoured with the award to recognise her continuous commitment and outstanding contribution to youths, widows and the less privileged in the society.

  • Davido celebrates Wizkid

    Nigerian musician David Adeleke aka Davido posted a heartfelt message to celebrate the birthday of Afropop star Ayodeji Balogun aka Wizkid.

    Davido, who is currently in Paris ahead of the Afro Punk concert, shared the message on his Twitter handle @iam_davido, as Wizkid turned 28, on Monday,.

    He wrote, “Happy birthday brother!! @wizkidayo keep soaring! God keep you safe! Your children go see you live long. Amen Gbefun!”

    The ‘Assurance’ crooner also took to his Instagram page @davidooficial to share a video of himself dancing to Wizkid’s hit song ‘Soco’.

    He captioned it, “Happy birthday @wizkidayo!!! Keep soaring my G.”

    Davido’s celebration of Wizkid birthday is an indication that they have buried the hatchet.

    This is the first birthday celebration that one or both of them have sent open messages to each other as they had a long standing rift which ended in December 2017.

    The supremacy war ended when Davido and Wizkid appeared and performed in each other’s shows to showcase their reconciliation.

    Meanwhile, fans of the two star artists have expressed their gratitude over the open love shown in the message, with some fans pleading for a collaboration.

    @Onyeoma_Donald tweeted, “What about a collaboration between the two of you as birthday gift? RT if you agree.”

    @King_naks wrote, “Amen. Strong prayer from the brother. Good heart. Live long and let love lead. Looking forward to your collaboration.”

    However, more birthday messages continue to pour in for Wizkid from fellow celebrities and fans alike.

    The singer, who started recording music at age 11, has been featured in the 2018 Guinness World Record for his contribution to Drake’s hit song ‘’One Dance’.

    He recently became the first African singer to walk the runway for international fashion brand Dolce and Gabbana alongside supermodel, Naomi Campbell.

  • Fans jubilate as Wizkid struts the runway

    Nigerian superstar, Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid took his fans by surprise last Saturday as he made his fashion industry debut when he walked the runway with the iconic model, Naomi Campbell at a Dolce & Gabbana event in Milan.

    The event was the fashion show for the unveil of D&G’s menswear Spring ’19 collection.

    The Starboy, as he is fondly called, rocked a black ensemble with heavy golden designs and a studded face mask with ‘Soco’ as the background song. According to information, he was styled by the co-founder of D&G, Stefano Gabbana.

    Hours later, the entertainer was spotted with Domenico Dolce of Dolce & Gabbana, Naomi Campbell and Tinie Tempah as they attended the ‘Dolce & Gabbana Naked King’ secret show at Milan Men’s Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2019 on June 16, 2018 in Milan, Italy.

    Meanwhile, some of his fans have been going crazy on Twitter and Instagram, expressing their undying love for him, with some describing the move as a win, not just for the artiste, but for Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

    For many, Wizkid making the show is seen as a dream come true for the star as the reminisced on the lyrics of one of his earliest hit songs, ‘Don’t Dull’. The Starboy has sang; “Chilling in the corner, wearing Dolce & Gabbana.”

  • Wizkid and Naomi Campbell walk Dolce and Gabbana runway

    Musician Ayo ‘Wizkid’ Balogun walked the runway for international fashion brand Dolce and Gabbana, alongside super model Naomi Campbell and Nigerian international artist Tinie Tempah.

    The ‘Soco’ crooner was seen in now viral videos and pictures, shared on his instagram page @wizkidayo, strutting for the brand’s latest men’s fashion collection in Milan on Saturday.

    The additional behind the scenes footage was shared by Campbell who took over Dolce and Gabbana’s instagram page.

    Campbell is a British model, actress, and singer who was established amongst the top three most recognizable and in-demand models of the late 1980s and the 1990s.

    She is one of six models of her generation declared supermodels by the fashion industry.

    Campbell had shown support for Wizkid’s craft in recent times, especially during his show at the O2 hall in London.

    Wizkid became the first Afro-beat artiste to appear in the 2018 Guinness World Records, for his contribution to Drake’s hit song ‘One Dance’.

    The 27 year old is currently working on an album scheduled to be released later in 2018

    Dolce & Gabbana is an Italian fashion house founded in 1985 in Legnano by Italian designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. The two met in Milan in 1980 and designed for the same fashion house.(NAN)
