    Adekunle Gold, Yemi Alade feature in “The Book of Clarence” soundtrack

    Sensational singers Adekunle Gold and Yemi Alade are pleased to stamp their feets on the global stage as their songs were selected to feature in the soundtrack of the highly anticipated Hollywood movie: “The Book of Clarence.”

    The musicians shared the news on their social media pages.

    Sharing the news on his Instagram page on Wednesday, Adekunle Gold wrote, “It’s great to see such incredible representation in a first-of-its-kind film. #TheBookofClarence, a film by @Jeymes features new music from myself, @JAYZ @liltunechi @yemialade and more. Exclusively in movie theaters January 12.”

    Yemi Alade wrote: “Clarence has a plan. Experience #TheBookofClarence, a film by @Jeymes Samuel, ft new music from Jeymes Samuel, JAY-Z, myself, @adekunlegold, and more. Exclusively in movie theatres January 12”. 

    The movie also features international artists like Lil Wayne, Buju Banton, Shabba Ranks, Kid Cudi, Jorge Ben Jor, Jorja Smith and more.

    The movie would also feature new music from Jay Z, who is also the producer of the movie.

    The director of the film, Jeymes Samuel, an American filmmaker and musician, recently announced the first soundtrack for “The Book of Clarence,” a song titled “Hallelujah Heaven,” featuring Lil Wayne, Buju Banton, and Shabba Ranks.

    The film is described by Sony Pictures as a “bold new take on the timeless Hollywood-era Biblical epic.”

    No one should get pressured for marriage, says Yemi Alade

    Singer, Yemi Alade, has advised those under pressure to get married to not yield to the rush and pressure from people as it isn’t the best to do.

    The 34-year-old has taken a swipe at the expense and burden that comes with getting married and bearing children in a seemingly unfavourable economy.

    During her latest interview with Cool FM, Yemi Alade while subtly debunking her reported marriage, spoke about the pressures to get married and how she feels about pressure, especially from family members, to get married and have children.

    The ‘Johnny’ crooner stated that the pressure to get married gets quite intense towards the end of the year but she has mastered how to respond.

    She revealed that marrying the right partner is of utmost importance and making provision ahead of the kids one’s marriage could produce.

    He said: “People get married every year, especially towards the end of the year, it gets even crazier. I’m under no pressure honey. Nobody should be. When it’s time, it’s time.

    “Family pressure is a difficult pressure to shake off because it’s the people you respect and look up to that are insisting that you get married, but I believe if they have your best interest at heart, they will wait with you.

    Because it’s more important to have the right partner than to just get married.

    “But asides that, I don’t think anyone should be in so much of a rush to make wrong decision and be with the wrong partner. Have you guys checked how much Pampers is? Look, these babies they are gifts, but when they’re born, they need things. Let’s stop borning children to come and suffer. 

    “Let’s normalize that. When mummy says go and marry, go and have child, say mummy do you have trust fund baby? Are you ready for trust fund baby? Let’s have questions to ask these people that have opinions, that are watching the womb on when we should. I think no one should be under unnecessary pressure. Have you seen the economy? Calm down! For this economy, we no dey play like that oh.”

  • Yemi Alade set to release fourth album

    NIGERIAN singer, Yemi Alade, is set to release her fourth studio album titled ‘Woman of Steel.’

    The album which is set to be released on Friday, August 30, 2019 under Effyzie entertainment was available for pre-release on Tuesday, August 20, 2019.

    The star who recently headlined Australia’s first Afrobeats Concert series alongside Wizkid and also featured in Beyonce’s album, ‘The Lion King: The Gift’, made this known on her Instagram handle.

    “PRE-ORDER my brand new album OUT on the 30 08 2019,” she wrote.

    The album, ‘Woman of Steel’, features American rapper, Rick Ross, on a remix of the track, ‘Oh my Gosh’

    Also on the album is the track, ‘Bounce’, which was released on June 12, 2019. Other songs on the album include ‘Home’, produced by Vtek and ‘Give Dem’, produced by Kriz beatz to serve as lead singles.

  • Yemi Alade tackles police for harassing dancer

    Famous Nigerian entertainer and afro-pop musician Yemi Alade has condemned the police for harassing her dancer, Tomisin.

    Expressing her grievance, Yemi said it was only in Nigeria that uniformed men who should protect lives would rather harass and intimidate the innocent.

    The singer, on Monday, shared the news on her Instagram page, saying: “Yesterday, my dancer, Tomisin, was harassed for dancing on the street by policemen who were not in uniform. What was his crime, dancing? It’s only in Nigeria that uniformed men will rather prey on the innocent and protect the guilty.”

    Speaking further, she said although the dancer was later released from detention, his phone was seized, with instruction from the police to report the next day to see the area commander.

    “Thankfully, he was released yesterday, but they have seized his phone. Why? They said he has to come and see their area commander the next day! Why such abuse of power? Making videos and taking pictures is not a crime in all civilised countries around the world.”

    Reacting to the incident, which has since gone viral, veteran Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw advised the singer to ensure she gets justice for her dancer.

    “Yemi, you have to follow this to the end! This is just too much! For dancing on the street? Why seize his phone”, she questioned.

  • Rema impresses fans with three AFRIMMA nominations

    Mavin star act, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has garnered three nominations  at the 2019 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA).

    The ‘Dumebi’ crooner was nominated in the ‘Song of The Year’ , ‘AFRIMMA Video of The Year’ and ‘Best Newcomer’ categories of the award ceremony set to take place in Dallas, Texas.

    Rema who has clocked over 50 million streams with his two Eps ‘Rema’ and ‘Freestyle EP’, continues to wow the music industry with his art and craft on the stage.

    Some of the big names on the nominees’ list this year include Nigeria’s Burnaboy, Wizkid, Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz, South Africa’s Cassper Nyovest. Davido, Yemi Alade, Sarkodie, Fally Ipupa, Harmonize also earned their place on the nominees list.     Wizkid, Yemi Alade and Harmonize will be performing for the first time in Australia for the 1dance Africa concert slated for October 2019.

    Announcing the news, singer Yemi Alade posted on her Instagram, “I will be performing live for the first time ever in Australia.”

    The concert series will also be MC’d by the hilarious world-renowned comedian Eddie Kadi, with stll more artists to be announced.

    Afrobeats is one of the fastest growing pop sub-genres in the world, with its influence being heard in the music of such mega-stars as Rihanna, Diplo, Major Lazer, and Drake, as well as throughout the pop charts.

  • Yemi Alade becomes first female African artiste to get 1m subscribers on YouTube

    Music diva, Yemi Alade has made history as the first female African artist to hit one million subscribers on video streaming platform, YouTube.

    News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that this feat comes months after Alade became the second Nigerian artist to hit hundred million views on YouTube for the song, ‘Johnny’.

    The ‘Oh My Gosh’ singer took to her Instagram page @yemialade to announce the feat and reflect on her musical journey of six years.

    She wrote, “God is the GREATEST, started this journey six years ago. Thanks to everyone streaming / watching my videos and music. Godbless us all.”

    With this feat, Alade joins other entertainers who have over one million subscribers, including the defunct P-Square (1.2 million), Davido (1.5 million) and Diamond Platnumz (2.1 million).

    Alade collaborated with producers such as Selebobo, Sizzle Pro, Shady Bizniz, Philkeyz, Young D, GospelOnDeBeatz, DIL, OJB Jezreel, Mr Chidoo, Fliptyce, EL Mcee and Beat Nation.

    The album was preceded by three singles: “Johnny”, “Tangerine” and “Kissing”. It features guest appearances and skits from Bovi, R2Bees, Phyno, Chidinma, DIL, Selebobo and Diamond Platnumz.

    MUSICIAN Yemi Alade has revealed that her soon-to-be released album titled ‘Woman of Steel (WOS)’,is her best body of work yet.

    She made the confession via her Instagram account on Thursday, saying, “#WOS ALBUM IS MY BEST BODY OF WORK YET.”

    She also made it known that she will be releasing one more song on the new album and asked her fans which genre it should be.

    “Hmm, I want to release one more song with the track listing,” said Yemi, whose latest single, ‘Oh My Gosh’, surpassed nine million YouTube views on Thursday.

    “Do you want a Dance track Or A chilled vibe fam?”

    Yemi Alade is undeniably one of the biggest Nigerian female entertainers who have made a mark locally and internationally.

    ‘Woman of Steel’ will be Yemi Alade’s fifth body of work, coming after ‘Black Magic’, ‘Mama Africa’, ‘King of Queens’ and an extended play titled ‘Mama Afrique.’

    The album will feature collaborations with Angélique Kidjo, Duncan Mighty and Funke Akindele.

  • Yemi Alade features Rick Ross on ‘Oh My Gosh’

    Nigerian singer, Yemi Alade, has teamed up with American rapper and Maybach Music Group boss, William Leonard Roberts, known as Rick Ross on the remix to her previously released single titled “Oh My Gosh.”

    The singer before the release on Monday was dropping hints to keep the anticipation of her fans high.

    The original version, produced by Nigerian record producer, DJ Coublon, was released in 2018. The video was also released same year, directed by Ovie.

    The video for the remix which features the award-winning American rapper and former corrections officer in Florida was directed by Ryan Snyder.

    The singer’s Instagram is presently flooded with the behind-the-scene shots and videos of the new single.

    Yemi who said she is keen on taking Africa to the world with her songs said the song is already trending in Nigeria and UK.

    The song will be featured on Yemi Alade’s album titled, ‘Woman Of Steel’, scheduled to be released later this year.

    The album has collaborations with prominent acts like Rick Ross, Duncan Mighty, Funke Akindele, and Angelique Kidjo.

     

     

     

  • Yemi Alade, Rick Ross release colourful visuals for ‘Oh my Gosh’ remix

    Nigerian Afropop star, Yemi Alade amd Grammy award-winning American rapper, Rick Ross have released the video for their latest collaboration, ‘Oh My Gosh’ remix.

    News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the song is an upbeat, hiphop- styled take from the original song with Ross lending some bars to the DJ Coublon produced-mix.

    The colourful video features Yemi Alade and some vibrant dancers in eccentric Ankara pieces swaying to the music. Some cuts show the two singers cozied up as they vocalise the song.

    Yemi Alade had earlier shared a video of herself on Instagram @yemialade, teaching Ross how to dance shaku-shaku which the American superstar seemed to get a hang on.
