    Yilwatda’s leadership of APC strategic, will ensure inclusivity, says Speaker Abbas, Rep Kuye

    Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen has said that the appointment of Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) strategic and will unite the party.

    Also, the Chairman of the House Committee on Public Assets, Ademorin Aliyu Kuye admonished the new APC Chairman to ensure inclusiveness and  accommodation which will lead to further expansion of the party.

    Yilwatda who succeeds Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who resigned as the National Chairman of the APC on June 27, 2025 to take care of his health was the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.

    The Speaker, who had said that Prof. Yilwatda was adopted as the APC National Chairman “under the guidance of President Tinubu,” said a notable politician from the North-Central geopolitical zone leading the APC has further reinforced the unity and cohesion in the ruling party.

    Abbas stressed the need for the APC to respond strategically to the emerging political dynamics in the country.

    While applauding the APC for successfully navigating the leadership change, the Speaker lauded President Tinubu for solidifying the ruling party’s dominance in the polity.

    The Speaker urged Prof. Yilwatda to unite the organs, structures, and caucuses of the APC towards victory at the coming polls and the sustenance of the party as the formidable, viable platform for progressive governance of the country.

    On his part, Kuye said the election of Yilwatda from Plateau State as the national chairman of the largest party in Africa is about inclusiveness and sensitivity to the yearning of the people.

    According to him, “Mr President has through his reengineering and economic reforms, set the foundation and pathway for our country’s economic rebirth. These reforms have received global recognition and admiration of even our greatest oppositions.

    “The efforts off Mr President has attracted many opposition governors, senators, MHR and other big wigs to the progressive family of APC.

    “I therefore enjoin our new chairman to build on this platform and make the Party the envy of all democrats in the world.”

    Chairman of the United Kingdom Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC UK), Hon. Tunde Doherty, has congratulated the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on his emergence as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

    Doherty, who is also the APC Committee of Diaspora Chairman, said the new Chairman will surely deepen internal democracy, build stronger bridges of unity and consolidate the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

    In his congratulatory message, the APC UK boss stated further that Prof. Yilwatda’s experience, integrity, vision, and proven leadership capacity played significant role in his appointment as the party chairman.

    Yilwatda was announced chairman during the 14th meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) held on Thursday at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

    His emergence came following the resignation of the former chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, who stepped down last month citing health-related concerns.

    Yilwatda’s appointment was ratified by the NEC in what is termed as a “consensus-driven decision” aimed at uniting the party ahead of key political activities, including off-cycle governorship elections in Kogi, Edo, and Ondo states.

    The France chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda on his emergence as the National Chairman of the ruling party, urging him to steer the APC toward greater unity, discipline, and strategic growth.

    Yilwatda was elected on Thursday at the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, becoming the 7th National Chairman of the party following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on health grounds.

    In a statement issued on Friday in Abuja, Chairperson of the APC France Chapter, Hajia Amina Suzuki Baba, expressed confidence in Yilwatda’s leadership and ability to advance President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

    The immediate past national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has congratulated Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe on his emergence as the new national chairman of the ruling party.

    Former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Jigawa State, Yakubu Abdullahi Ruba, has expressed confidence that the emergence of Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda as the new national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will strengthen the party’s support base in Plateau State, the North Central region, and across the country.

    Ruba made this known in a statement issued in Dutse by his Special Assistant on Media Affairs, Aliyu Ibrahim, and made available to The Nation.
