Kogi State Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja has advised beneficiaries of the Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Support (APPEALS), Women and Youth Empowerment programme (WYEP), to take advantage the scheme provided in order to drive the economy of the state.
Onoja made the call at the end of the pre-implementation meeting with WYEP beneficiaries on business and investment plan preparation at the Lokoja centre.
Chief Onoja who was represented by the deputy chief of staff, Sunday Faleke, urged the beneficiaries to “take it seriously, understand the process, comply with the guidelines, painstakingly complete all the processes and finally take this advantage in the space of time to become drivers of the economy in Kogi state and Nigeria at large”.

He noted that the pre-implementation meeting organised by the Kogi State Coordination office of APPEALS project to guide beneficiaries on developing a fundable and implementable business and investment plan among other support, is a right step in the right direction that would enable the WYEP beneficiaries access the start-up grant to begin their agribusinesses and farming activities.
He reiterated the commitment of the state government in supporting the successful implementation of the APPEALS Women and Youth Empowerment programme in the state.
In his address, the APPEALS state project Coordinator for Kogi, Dr Ozomata commended the beneficiaries at the Lokoja centre for their cooperation during the meeting which lasted for four days.
He advised them to brace up to the challenges of developing a fundable and implementable business and investment plan, assuring that the state coordination office will make available all the support needed to ensure their final empowerment by the project.
