A 17-year-old girl has been killed in Owa-Alero community, Ika North East council of Delta State.

The girl was said to be a virgin and speech-impaired.

She went out on Saturday night to buy something and nver returned.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa hails from Owa-Alero.

The Nation gathered that the teen was stabbed on the upper part of her ribs and a pipe inserted into her body through which her blood was drained.

Her body was discovered on a heap of sand a few meters from her house with a bottle of soft drink and a packet of chin chin close to her, The Nation learnt.

Police spokeswoman  Onome Onovwakpoyeya confirmed the incident, adding that investigation into the murder had started.
