Three feared killed as robbers attack bank

Three people, including a policeman, were feared killed yesterday as robbers attacked a new generation commercial bank in Ila-Orangun, Osun State.

About eight robbers were said to have struck around 2pm.

They operated for over one hour, blasting the bank’s door with an explosive.

The Nation learnt that two of the victims were hit by stray bullets.

Several people reportedly sustained injuries while trying to flee the scene.

It was gathered that the robbers stole huge amount.

A source said a police team, after receiving a distress call, raced to the scene, but the robbers had escaped.

A police source, not authorised to speak on the incident, confirmed that robbers attacked a bank, saying the police would not want to reveal their findings now “for security reasons.”
