Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Idris Ahmed Wase, has described the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as an “outstanding politician who has contributed immensely to Nigeria’s democracy.”
In a birthday message to the former Lagos state governor signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Umar Mohammed Puma, the Deputy Speaker congratulated the Tinubu on his 68 birthday, saying: “Going by his antecedents and political sagacity, Tinubu is not just the Jagaban of Borgu, but the Jagaban of contemporary Nigerian democracy and politics.”
The Deputy Speaker further described Tinubu as “a leader, who midwifed a novel democratic process using the instrumentality of the APC to successfully defeat an incumbent government in Nigeria in 2015.

“This is a landmark achievement, which is indelible in the political history of our dear nation. That Asiwaju Tinubu was able to coordinate and galvanise progressive elements into a cohesive and indomitable political party to democratically uproot the incompetent administration, he has permanently etched his name in the sands of history.”
Wase stressed that Tinubu’s democratic credentials have never been in doubt as he played a key role in the struggle to restore democracy after the annulment of June 12, adding that the APC leader has remained a rallying point for the Progressives in the country.
He said Tinubu has remained one of the strong pillars holding the ruling party together, saying “Our leader, as you mark 68 years today, I pray that the Almighty Allah, we bless you with good health and grant many more productive years on earth, so that you can continue to serve Nigeria and mankind generally”.
