Top amateurs for 60th FirstBank Lagos Amateur Golf championship

THE golf section of Ikoyi Club 1938, the venue this year’s FirstBank sponsored Lagos Amateur Open Golf Championship is set to receive the best amateur golfers from across the world as the sponsor marks 60-years of unwavering commitment to the sport.

Billed to tee off on Thursday, November, 18th, with Corporate Golf Challenge, a special aspect of the competition geared towards raising funds for charities, under the banks SPARK initiative, an acronym – Start Performing Acts of Random Kindness; a values-based initiative designed to raise consciousness that we can choose to be kind, this year’s event, the organizers, Concierge sports says is a unique event to celebrate FirstBank’s unwavering commitment to golf and sports in general.

The tournament is a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) listed competition that attracts the best golfers from the amateur scene, not only in Nigeria but across the world.

Speaking at the pre-tournament briefing in Lagos, FirstBank’s Deputy Managing Director, Gbenga Shobo, who represented the bank’s CEO, Adesola Adeduntan said it is planning big for the longest-running golf competition in the country.
